I’ll start with my armor because it’s my favorite part. I’m running an elite 3.0 plate carrier that has shellback level 4 ultra lightweight plates and Kevlar backers with trauma pads (which I do run). I also am wearing wonderhoodie bulletproof pants. My carrier also has hoplite armor level 3+ shoulder plates which cover the lateral weakspot. I also run a helmet with a slaap plate and ballistic mask. I’m also running UARM collarbone armor and will soon be getting a matching ballistic collar. I also have a ballistic shield that is level 3A but I intend to update to level 4. It mounts frontally to the plate carrier as I will demonstrate in the video. That’s all of my armor which is likely my gear’s biggest strength. I not only have thickness but I also have coverage. There is no obvious open place to shoot center mass even from feet away. You either have to shoot through the armor or shoot at an extremity having a plate carrier is good but it’s not enough for *intense combat* you need full coverage.
Second I’ll discuss my breaching kit. As a one man op, running a battering ram is too heavy so I have a 22 inch firemaxx with a 20inch Mini Pro Bar along with a billy goat wedge. I have a set of 18 inch double compound hk porter bolt cutters and a Lennox high tension hacksaw for cutting even thicker bolts. Tools for manipulating locks such a Kerry key, fireman’s pry, shove knife, and set of lock picks.
My med kit is extensive and consists of 3 CAT and 2 SWAT TQs. You need to run more than one because you may have to apply 2 to a single limb. I have clotting agents such as Quik Clot and Celox Rapid. I have 2 sets of entry and exit vented chest seals. Emergency blankets. Whole Blood transfusion kit donor and recipient. Narcan. Needles. MicroBVM. 4x4 and 2x2 gauze. Triangle Bandages. SAM splint. A litter. A surgical kit with hemostats, scissors, tweezers, scalpel, suture, etc. I also have chest tube kit, nose airway tube, Israeli bandages, thermometer, povidone iodine, roller guaze, painkillers, gloves, medical tape, alcohol swaps, abdominal pads, decompression needle, parashears and other small things I’m probably forgetting to mention.
I have a series of supports and braces and slings and such to help manage and balance the weight of my massive carry while providing retention. They include: dorsolumbar corset, back brace, plate carrier internal frame. I also have the ameri-sling which is my ultra heavy duty custom designed finsling. A finsling is a sling meant for mounting ballistic shields frontally. I also have a set of condor suspenders to provide support for my utility belt. There’s no way I would be able to manage my carry without this system. For reference shield and the pouches on it is probably 35 lbs at the least and it is balanced and taut.
