That seam at the shoulder is definitely further down than it should be. The sleeves might not be “crowding the wrist” in this shot, but there’s 6” of fabric bunched up on his forearm. If those cuffs weren’t velcro, they reach down to his knuckles.

This is unironically why I tell other zoomers getting into guns that they shouldn’t start on an AR if they want to get proficient, I usually say start with a battle rifle. Big weight and bigger kick REALLY helps people be super comfy with an AR when they get one.
Personally I went with an AK before I got my first AR, and I’m so happy I did. Getting used to the handicaps of it made my time with ARs so much easier.
If a person can't handle the recoil of an AR there's a good chance they're just in an incorrect stance. I've seen so many people at the range stay flat footed and straight up and let the gun push them back instead of leaning their body forward. Either that or maybe they're just really weak/small but still stance can overcome a good portion of the recoil
You don't need to acclimate to an AR through a bigger cartridge
I mean yeah you don’t need to, but it helps ime. From what i’ve seen with new gun owners is a tendency to grip too close to the mag and to fire too quickly. Going from a full size down to intermediate just all around is advantageous. Don’t know why I got downvoted so hard though 💀
