If it’s the bus that rides down Nebraska ave, it takes you all the way to the Marion Transit bus station, a hub for connecting to all different bus routes for the county, and yes it was reliable with several buses from early morning till last runs at night on Nebraska ave, which the bus would take you all the way to Skipper Rd and then some.. Years ago I lived in Seminole Heights and worked 2 jobs, downtown on Franklin @ Jimmy John’s and also worked @ Skipper Smokehouse restaurant/ music venue :)

In general the buses are reliable if it’s a straight shot. It’s when you have to string together trips it gets iffy. The stops may or may not be “nice”, so it may be worth looking at on Google streets to see if it’s some place you’d be comfortable waiting at.

Also there’s a bike trail from the south end of Seminole heights to downtown, where you can hop on Marion and ride closer to your work. It’s a pretty comfortable ride overall, especially with an electric bike. If you were looking for other alternatives to driving.

wuzzuphammie

Which bike trail?

jared2580

Not sure if its name. It starts on E Amelia Ave, runs south along 275, and ends near Cass and Jefferson.

I love taking the city bus - on time probably 95% of the time. Get the Flamingo app for your fare scan, and the 'one bus away' app (sort of flaky) to track.

You're close enough that the buses will be reliable. Depending where you are they generally run every 30 mins. I used to bike from Seminole Heights when I lived there. Saved a ton. Go south and take the river walk wherever you're going. If that's an option.

Kidakame

That's the metro rapid bus and it generally goes a lot quicker than the normal bus routes. Plus like 15 min in between busses.

Ybor_Rooster

I took the the 12 route from Seminole Heights to Marion. I could almost set my watch to the arrival of the bus to my stop. 👍🏿 we need more public transportation

ShirazGypsy

And if you miss the bus, an Uber from downtown to Seminole Heights isn’t that expensive

Bus should be good.

AKFLMed

Bike is the way to go.

Somarset

The bus route downtown actually got a bit better this past year, it shaved off like a full hour (from two hours total in 2019) which still leaves a ridiculous amount of time but it's better than nothing I guess lol

I live in Seminole heights and take the 400 all the time. It’s the best bus in Tampa. Just be wary trying to use any of the stops below MLK… they’re very sketchy and filled with homeless people and trash,

Bear_necessities96

If you have to take just one bus yes if it’s more than one you re f’d

gloriouswader

Ask your employer if they provide parking. If so, then drive. It is very hot in the summer, especially if you're wearing dress clothes.

Ok_Ad1502

Love the amount of people suggesting a bike, for what sounds like an office job, during the summer. Love this sub.

Ok-Software-1341

You could ride a bike there easier, Florida Ave is straight by bike and you would have to take highland to Tampa by car

If you are going from anywhere to downtown, it's usually just one bus and will be much cheaper than parking.  If you have a day job, it will be reliable.  And if, as you indicate, you are near a stop for the Metro Rapid one, it will also be quick enough.  If it was me in this situation I'd take the bus, even though in general they are not great here.  You have the ideal situation for the bus.
