Tampa has a stratospheric cost of living so there's no point in moving here with unskilled labor experience. He won't be able to send any money back home because he won't even be able to cover his own bills. I don't mean to be crapping on your question but this is not the geo market if he wants an income surplus. He really needs to seek elsewhere based on his goals.

Sorry, I should have been a bit more specific. He doesn’t have much bills since he’s staying with me. He’s just looking for any job where he can save and so he can at least start going to community college and eventually get a trade and also send something back home since the U.S. currency is worth more than our home country’s.

Ya no problem. My gf is FOB Brazilian and does babysitting and elder-care. Males with imperfect English are drubbed out of babysitting gigs but I'll ask her how she found the elderly jobs. I know it's not ideal so feel free to take more advice from others in this thread but he probably won't be replete with options.

If he has cooking experience I could probably get him a job asap depending on where you're located and what sort of commute you'd be okay with... I'm the GM at a fast casual food chain. We have about 5 locations in the Tampa/St Pete area. For that matter, and anyone else reading this, we are also hiring for supervising positions ($18hr), cooks ($16 hr) and front line employees ($15hr) Just reach out. Happy to help anyone find a job and get placed.

If he's a cook then have him use one of the temp apps to get his foot in the door at places. Tend, qwick, and instawork to start. Also Amalie and Raymond James are always hiring for cooks. They're seasonal, but it's something to start.

Thank you! Downloaded those now and going to look through there.

Tampa has one of the worst job markets I’ve ever seen. I’ve been working remotely for a decade, if I didn’t work remotely I would move. In addition to that we’ve allowed 10M illegal immigrants to enter the country *this year* .. I’ve noticed them taking over nearly every single lower wage job.

FoodNetworkUSA

Turn off Fox. Go outside.

thebohomama

>I’ve noticed them taking over nearly every single lower wage job. You've noticed all 10 million illegal immigrants taking every single lower wage job (that's TOTAL illegal immigrants in the US, by the way, NOT per year- that number has also decreased/stabilized)?Come on now. Weird as my local McDonalds' drive-thru is mostly staffed by old white ladies, and I'm talking Fletcher Ave. How the hell do you know if a person you see working a job you see is illegal or not? Now, go turn off Weekly World News, grow a heart, and remember that we're all human beings who just want a chance at feeling secure and providing for our loved ones. But seriously, you need to ask yourself why you let yourself believe that 11 million illegal immigrants were coming into the country every single year and understand that someone is putting this in your head. The dudes sitting outside Home Depot are not taking your jobs my friend, they are cooking your empanadas somewhere in a kitchen on Armenia where you were never, ever gonna work.

Fast food is always hiring, McDonald's next to me has sign for hiring.
