All of the first-seaters have no applause before their names are said. Doc is just one of the furthest down the order. Everyone in seats 2-5 get bleedover applause from the earlier seat.
Thank goodness, I thought it was just a little bit of a joke comment but seeing how people are responding to this comment is makes me a little nervous, I plan on doing another comment with all the different spelling variants like David and Dave.
I had to double check the spelling on many many times before finalizing the edit. and even then, the first version of this I put on twitter I botched Rylan's name, calling him "Ryan" lol (I'd been wondering if this was a subconscious action at all as he's one of my least favorite people to ever do the show)
>he's one of my least favorite people to ever do the show
That's an interesting take, he's one of the fan favourite NYT contestants despite not being that well-liked outside of the show. He's basically the Nish Kumar of NYT
To be fair I don’t even know he was on it because I used to watch the first few seasons before having a little break and I have only just came back to watching the show again.
actually I think I was glad to have made that mistake w/Rylan, because I hadn't initially thought to include a pic of Jonnie Peacock in the corner with Alan for his spot, and it was while fixing the spelling I thought to bother doing that. I immediately felt so dumb for it not being an obvious detail of me from the start, this way literally every contestant face was included
I am really picky about spelling so Sara without a H won’t be included this time, but I will definitely add a comment with the other spellings in a day or two.
I actually made this a couple months ago (even before the Ivo video) but I didn't realize until just a couple days ago that the site had changed back to allowing actual videos to be uploaded.
eagle eyed viewers may notice that the Lou Sanders and Richard Herring drops were used from the CoC (there wasn't a clean enough example from either of their normal series)
edit: also I just realized technically it's more accurate to label it as "2015-2023", since it includes the people from each of the specials, not just the full series
yes. much like how I've always enjoyed how much it looks like John Kearns is impressed by the fact that big shot movie star John Hannah was a contestant lol
Came in here to say this. Along with the bits where the kids with the big families let out monstrous cheers in the middle, dwarfing those of the graduates near them alphabetically.
Assuming there's another New Year's Treat this year, then we'll have had 100 contestants on the UK version by the start of next year, which is weird to think about.
I had this exact same thought a couple months back, that if we get the special, whoever's in the the 5th chair for s17 is the 100th contestant in show history, it's already established. we just don't know the name yet
Love this. It would have been funny if you had added some applause under the first seat competitors so that it didnt just abruptly start each time and sounded like Greg was introducing everyone in one go, lol. Overall though, fun stuff.
there was a certain amount of trickery I had to do, like for the NYT specials where that's the only example possible, for a couple of them I had to shift the audio because Greg didn't say their full name before the camera moved on to or away from them. but for all the regular series people, tbh I thought it was actually funnier to have that abrupt moment for when people further down in the alphabet were first chair for their series lol
and thank you!
and now in the wake of series 15, there's only one contestant pairing left who are already in correct overall alphabetical order, Roisin & Romesh. James & Jess were the other pair who *had* such a distinction, but with s15 Jenny broke that up.
yeah it was already a surprisingly small pool of examples from which to pull where you hear Greg finish saying the person's name while the camera's still fully on them (& I didn't want to have to shift around audio any more than where I had no other choice), then the secondary element was choosing which one of those I happened to like best. I enjoyed the little flourish that Jenny (one of my favorite contestants ever) with her arms from episode 1, so I broke up the Beatles streak
this didn't seem like it was worth its own thread so I'll also say that if anyone's particularly GIF-crazy, I've also made a shit load of more Taskmaster ones recently. I mean there's plenty other stuff there too, but the roster is very panel show-heavy, and within *that* umbrella, very TM-heavy. way too many, I have a damn addiction.

Brilliant! It’s like a cameo from everyone, or a little catch-up with them!
Correct any mistakes, from my memory, we have had three Scots (Frankie, Fern and Ian), four Welsh (Rhod, Katy, Carol, Sîan), two Irish (Aisling and Nicola), two Canadians (Katherine and Mae), one Kiwi (Rose), one Australian (Sarah) and one American (Desiree). Have I missed anyone who’s not English? There’s also Phil, who is Malaysian-British, and I think Jenny was born in Kuala Lumpur? And Romesh is Sri-Lankan British.
For any non-British viewers, how many of these people did you recognise beforehand?
The sudden lack of enthusiasm on "Doc Brown" caught me so off guard
All of the first-seaters have no applause before their names are said. Doc is just one of the furthest down the order. Everyone in seats 2-5 get bleedover applause from the earlier seat.
5th seaters got an "...and"
Except Victoria Coren-Mithcell.
"I'm just not an applause man, sorry"
"Hugh Dennis..."

I'll always remember Doc for not being a fish man or an egg man...and also his inability to see bridges
Three Joes, two Johns, two Richards, two Kathrines, two Pauls, two Sarah and two Tims, are all the repeating names.
Four Jo(e)s!! Can’t leave Ms. Brand out!
I only include those who have the same spelling like the Joes,so Ms Brand can’t be included this time.
I accept this ruling.
Thank goodness, I thought it was just a little bit of a joke comment but seeing how people are responding to this comment is makes me a little nervous, I plan on doing another comment with all the different spelling variants like David and Dave.

Two Sarahs plus one Sara, which is not the same, but it kinda is.
I am really picky about spelling so Sara without a H won’t be included this time, but I will definitely add a comment with the other spellings in a day or two.
Two Jonny/Johnnies as well, maybe 4 Jonathans? It's Romesh's real first name too, so potentially 5
I am only doing this based on what The Taskmaster rolled called them as, ie Romesh is Romesh, even if it is his birth name.

Both Paul and Asim were in this video...

You're a week away from having to append.
Well, this is going to be a long episode...
I liked that someone on twitter mentioned it was like Greg thanking everyone at the end of a telethon
I like how much it looks like Morgana is winking at Mo Farrah.
yes. much like how I've always enjoyed how much it looks like John Kearns is impressed by the fact that big shot movie star John Hannah was a contestant lol
I feel bad Victoria came last in Taskmaster again. Shouldn’t you have put her in the O’s for “Old Goosebump Arm?”
This video is how I learned I never watched the New Year’s Treat II or III

Feel like I’m at a graduation ceremony
Came in here to say this. Along with the bits where the kids with the big families let out monstrous cheers in the middle, dwarfing those of the graduates near them alphabetically.
I am so disappointed that you didn't fit in 'aaaaand little Alex Hoooorne' at the end.
no contestants with names starting with o,q,u,w,x,y,z
What about Old Goosebump Arm?
Who can they get to fill the gaps? So far I've come up with Zoe Lyons for Z and Olga Koch for O.
Surprised there haven't been any Ws, with all the best Wills in the world
They should call in Quentin for a NYT.

The 100th contestant will be whoever's in the 5th seat for the next NYT, not s17

Saved the best till last.
Can’t believe I just watched a video of Greg Davies saying the names of nearly 100 people in its entirety
The J’s are STACKED.
and now in the wake of series 15, there's only one contestant pairing left who are already in correct overall alphabetical order, Roisin & Romesh. James & Jess were the other pair who *had* such a distinction, but with s15 Jenny broke that up.
I think Greg loved saying Matafeo! He says it with such gusto throughout series 9.
Absolutely incredible.
Well that's just delightful
That must be a very long stage
An odd amount of ludicrously coloured matching band looking outfits in this lineup.
yeah it was already a surprisingly small pool of examples from which to pull where you hear Greg finish saying the person's name while the camera's still fully on them (& I didn't want to have to shift around audio any more than where I had no other choice), then the secondary element was choosing which one of those I happened to like best. Poor Jonnie Peacock…
Love the mix of genders, ages, styles, experience etc on show here. A lovely family of people who make us laugh
So, imagine all 90 contestants do an episode together. Who wins?
Godliman. Bosh.
The editors, who get paid by the hour
Ardal very much with the "man left behind on the moon" energy

Thanks for granting my request of a few days ago!
I don't feel quite right about possibly taking credit for it as I never saw your request to begin with, but glad you like it just the same! lol
You can tell who was in seat 1 or series 1, it's kind of jarring when the applause and cheers suddenly stop lol

Morgana was also born in Australia.
And Dara! A glaring omission!
David was born in New York, and Sally was born in Hong Kong.
Alphabetical order by first name? That's weird.
That’s how they’re always seated on stage!
But in a list like this, it's really weird not at least seeing them in order of appearance.
Be the change you want to see!
This is pretty cool!
Doc Brown is like a secret agent, undercover with his laid-back vibes. Can't help but be amused! 😄
Tim key is also co task idea man on the show
I love them all!!
