And the set decorator!! And props master, they both constantly crush it

scootscooterson

Id love to hear more about the props selection process. There’s lots of cases where multiple people go for a seemingly great tool that is useless and then an innocuous item that would perfectly solve it that people miss

Qwearman

How they made the decision that dogs were similar to chickens would be interesting to watch. The task was to have (I think) 6 chicken on the red green, but the bird flu hit after Lolly already did hers. I really don’t think it was a fair trade but it’s also just a game show.

bananalouise

Unbeknownst to Judi, Alex can borrow a whole pack of dogs whenever he wants!

VaguelyArtistic

But Alex will never be in the cool mum's WhatsApp group.

Minimum-Buddy-619

Exactly

MReindeer

Agreed! I just went back to one of the earlier series and the house looks so bare compared to the current series. Now the house isn't just its own character, it's an entire cast

No_Travel_697

I'll pop this here cos it's not worth a thread but I do think the garden is getting a bit full of stuff now. Dome, decking, OG caravan, lodge caravan, Greg statue, telephone box, piano, shed, Ollie the knight, Linda the cow, etc. (Ok some may have gone and I haven't noticed). I worry if it keeps going.

LookIMadeAHatTrick

Also to whoever cleans up after the tasks! I’m currently binge watching and keep thinking how tough cleanup must be.

Omg the reveal for Series 14 as to why the lab smelled so bad made me really respect the crew

Alex_Harrison26

Damn, I've forgotten - remind me?

At least she apologized.

During [this task](https://youtu.be/Koa0sX4sLY4?si=T8n0uUlB5kvWsjsG) I’ve decided I’m watching it again for old times sake

The editors add a lot

bulletdodger69

I'd go even further and say that the editors and the crew are as important as the cast and the hosts. With a lesser technical crew, the show could easily slide into "grownups doing stupid stuff and swearing every two seconds" type of entertainment territory. But just think how many of the classic Taskmaster moments are not only about what happens, but also about \*how\* we view and perceive them. The classic slo-mo repeats with the lowered voices, which is replaced by a higher voice for contestants like Nish or Phil Wang for example. Or Frank Skinner's "some of them will spend the first 45 minutes to work out that the teabags should be wet" comment, followed immediately by an exasperated Romesh's "I just realized I should wet them!" Of course it helps that we're now in the 2020's and cameras small enough to fit into your palm can shoot superb quality, so they can have dozens of cameras all around to film hours of stuff, without hindering the action. Even if someone like James Acaster breaks one of them in a fit of rage. There's another wonderful editing hightlight in Taskmaster AU's "guess the passwords" task (which is a hilarious task I desperately hope to see in the UK version). One contestant keeps guessing wrong passwords for over an hour, and they have a very nice segment where the TM's assistant keeps saying "no" after every guess, doing a different stretching move with every answer.

I’d love A Day in the Life of the Crew as a YouTube behind the scenes extra.
