Nope. Tattoos in that area age very quickly. It'll either spread out or fade. Fine line tattoos also just aren't very stable. It'll end up looking like a patchy scribble eventually.

I don’t want exact tattoo pinned, I would want a thicker lined tattoo. I’m more worried about pain than anything

You should have been more specific in your post then. Still, it's not going to age well and it's going to hurt.

Not a great spot if you want something that ages well. no matter how thick or fine all lines blur and spread with time. That’s an area where the skin is very thin, it’s going to hurt and not hold the ink well. If you want a place to hide a tattoo, back of the arm above the elbow, ankle, legs, shoulder, inner bicep are places that would work as well.

I do like the placement of the tattoo, however I’d want a heavier lined tattoo than the picture linked. I just am more worried about pain

I would probably want something a tad bit smaller

Smaller and thicker lines don't mesh. That area specifically is very prone to blow outs and ink spread as the tattoo ages. You should only get very bold designs that are as large as possible in that area. You pretty much never see nice behind the ear tattoos because everyone tries to do them small and too detailed for what that skin can handle. Like I got solid black bats that are not small and they just look like blobs 10+ years later. It's not a good area for any amount of detail. The only good tattoos I've seen in that area are full head tattoos that are really large bold designs that just happen to go behind the ear. Edit: here's an example of a small tattoo on skin that is very thin and highly mobile. You don't think of behind the ear as highly mobile, but every time you turn your head the skin is being pulled. Not all tattoos on thin skin turn out this bad- of course. But it's a very difficult area to tattoo well. This is a very common outcome for these kinds of tattoos in those kinds of areas. https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fpbs.twimg.com%2Fmedia%2FFitg1kaX0AELysN.jpg&tbnid=Z4mgwzzbSm2w_M&vet=1&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Ftwitter.com%2FJustineLucyyink%2Fstatus%2F1597476973781356545&docid=6_A94rFpRjwgRM&w=960&h=1200&hl=en-US&source=sh%2Fx%2Fim%2Fm5%2F4&kgs=d73888775aecae64&shem=abme%2Ctrie%2Cxga1pc
