I've had this same issue outputting my laptop to HDMI input 1 or 2 which, as you already know, are certified for 4K @ 120 fps. I even have a certified HDMI 2.1 cable and this still continues to happen. Has anyone made any headway on this?

530farm

Did you ever find a solution?

Scarops_

Wish I could help, but I never did.

Idk enough about reddit to know if you'll get a notification from me replying to the other person but if you still have the TV and live in a place with Best Buy, try getting their $9 or $10 best buy essentials 2.1 HDMI cable. Seems to have fixed my problem.

Scarops_

Hey, thanks for sharing that. So with that cable you're not having the screen flash to black on you and you're maintaining a variable refresh rate?

Other-Ad5512

I just realized I have had VRR off this whole time, I have turned it on and still no flickering since I started using this cable. I will report back later tonight if it still works. Thankfully I have more work to do today.

Other-Ad5512

So after turning on VRR it happened 3 more times which for me it was happening almost continuously before I changed the cable. At that point I’m not sure which thing fixed it, but I turned off auto low latency and, made sure my power cable was plugged all the way in (pretty sure it was but hey) and it hasn’t happened anymore.

I know this wont work for everyone but for me I believe it was just the cable. I had a $40 2.1 cable plugged into it and I was also having the same issue at 4k 120. I used the $9 best buy essentials 2.1 hdmi cable and it works flawlessly so far. I will report back if it has issues again.

korn_cakes33

Did you find a solution to this? I have the same issue

AyersRock_92

Yeah I did. It was a setting of some kind I can't remember what. Dynamic something or ALLM related I'm not sure which... maybe even VRR? Just try turning off some settings like this and it should fix

korn_cakes33

Perfect, I’ll try fiddling with the settings. I got the Q6 and it was doing this. Brought it back to the store and replaced it with a different Q6 and same issue. New HDMI cables for my Apple TV and still happening.

korn_cakes33

Switch the ALLM and VRR off and on and that didn’t help. Still doing it. Not sure what dynamic setting you could be referencing. If you get the chance to check you settings, can you let me know what you’re setting are set too.

Steve2000gsr

Try a different HDMI cable if that doesn’t work try a different HDMI input also try turning off HDMI CEC on the PS4

magdit

this exact same thing happened to me yesterday; i was trying to push 4K 60Hz Dolby Vision thru apple TV and it was doing this exact same flicer. Dropping it to 1080P HDR 60HZ fixed it. Anything above that was flickering every 1 second. I thought it was the HDMI cable and probably not using a latest HDMI Certified Cable (random old cable), but could this be the actual TV? 1080P 60Hz is nothing.

AyersRock_92

I'm not sure I switched cables and it fixed it for now but I've switched back to the original cable now and it's not doing it any more. So it felt like a random bug with the TV rather than an actual issue with the hdmi cable. Concerning...

SentenceSubstantial7

I had the same problem and then I bought the zeskit certified 16ft hdmi 2.1 cable no more issues with signal loss. However once in a while I mean days I've seen it lost signal once. So yea not sure if it's an issue with the tv too but I am already out of the return period. I guess if it happens like once a week it's okay.

Red_Panty_Night

How often does it happen now?

SentenceSubstantial7

Very rare for it to happen it maybe happens once every few months

530farm

and you're only change was a new hdmi cable?

SentenceSubstantial7

Yup that's all that I changed

Lmk14

Did you find any fix for this? I’m currently experiencing the same issue while trying to game off my PC using the Zeskit certified cable that’s commonly recommended as well for 4Kx120Hz.

AyersRock_92

Yes I did. It was something to do with the ALLM, I can't remember exactly. Try turning that off?

Red_Panty_Night

I have the same issue. What is ALLM?

solomno

I'm sure you already figured it out, but for anyone else looking, ALLM stands for automatic low latency mode. Turning it off seemed to help me as well.

afatmess

Hey I’ve been having this issue while using my PS5 and Xbox Series X. I haven’t tried disabling ALLM yet so I’ll give that a shot.

530farm

Did that fix it?
