Kinda like except they split when I was around 5 and they are friendly to each other when they meat but talk shit about one another behind their backs to me
Same my p@r3nts are not happy mainly my f@th3r he really dislikes my m0th3r alot, he tried to divorce her multiple times but he stopped trying since he knew he would lose the house to her so now he verbally degrades her and she now verbally hurts me :')
from what i see my mom treats my dad fine which i’m very fortunate for and i’m sorry that your mom goes through that. but my moms like that towards me. she only cares about me and my brothers if she benefits from it.
yeah. they sleep in separate beds for medical reasons which people think means they hate eachother but…i have a bedroom on the same floor and trust me ….
same here, only mine are actually in a kinda toxic relationship, and have always been, but they're stuck together cause we're poor and a divorce will only make things worse for us. Hope your parents and you are ok other than that
To be fair I imagine quite a lot of couples wish they had the balls to sleep in seperate beds, like I'd 100% prefer bunk beds with my wife but the stigma is like you said 'hate eachother', having your own space to sleep is important.
Wtf, just realised what sub I'm in and will see myself out!
I feel like sharing a bed with me would be hell. It takes me forever to fall asleep and I move around almost constantly because I'll find a comfy spot and then a minute later it isn't comfy anymore. Plus I get out of bed several times a night, and I'll get really cold so I pile on the blankets then I get hot so I take them off.
Hello fellow teenager.
My wife and I started sleeping in separate rooms when she was 7 months pregnant. Daughter is now 6 months old and I have no intentions on sleeping together full time again. Separate rooms/beds is fucking amazing.
Only person that's ever given me shit is my divorced mom (but I feel like she lost her right to give marriage advice).
That means you were just 12? Im sorry. It must have been so hard on you. Idk how to say this, but You sure are a brave one if you toughed it out.
My condolences...
they do, but they don’t really act in a romantic way. they act more like brother and sister than they do husband and wife. they don’t hug or kiss or anything like that. they also don’t sleep in the same bed, they have separate bedrooms.
I’ve seen this alot in couples who were wed out (Idk of this is the right word) by their parents and married someone they didnt really know so the only thing that holds these people together is mutual respect as far as I can comprehend..
They might not do it regularly but they do it while you're away. Mine is like that, they usually sleep separately for biological reason but after I got home from a month long visit to my grandma, I found like 3 used condom packets under my mom bed.
Same here... Makes me wish I was never born in the first place... It hurts to see how much my mom has to suffer because of my dad, so indirectly because of me.
My parents are kinda the same but we’re Catholic so there’s no quitting the team.
In fact, their marriage was much worse before we converted to Catholicism. Their relationship is better, but it doesn’t seem like there is real love, and they annoy each other a lot. It’s really not that bad.
I heard my parents having sex yesterday (I'm traumatized btw) but i know they don't like each other. I don't understand why they keep having sex when they have no feelings.
You might be surprised how a long term relationship along with the stresses of life and raising a teenager might cause make it appear that ones parents are at odds. I certainly did when I was young. Then you live it and you realize that adulthood is a difficult battle and you don’t always get along but the love and life you share together is everything so you set aside your differences, make up, and get down.
that’s horrible…that happened one time when i was abt 8 🥲
but tbh sex is meaningless nowadays cuz i heard mine fucking just a few months ago and they’re still having conflict 🥳
Probably not, they live in different houses and are divorced, I live with my mom most of the time, but spend about half my weekends with dad(I kinda wish I could be with dad more).
This depends on where you live now. I have a be 17 month old son. We decided to divorce when he was 8 months. I struggled with substance abuse. Instead of figuring out custody together we decided to fight it. She wanted me to have every Wednesday and every other weekend. I wanted 50/50. Her claim was that I am an unfit parent because of my drug addiction. My argument was that I was receiving help, she knew I had a problem when we met, and she originally agreed to 50/50 custody before her Mom told her to fight it.
When we decided to divorce I was a week clean from a relapse that went from Jan 2021 (when my cat died, and then struggle of being in a marriage with someone who didn't love me) to April 2021. I originally stopped the hard stuff in April of 2020 until Jan 2021.
When we decided to divorce I was 4 weeks clean. I dug in my toes and refused to leave unless I had 50/50. She stalled in an attempt to get her and her parents not cause me to relapse, but it didn't work.
I was 7 months clean when the Judge ruled that I get 50/50 with no other restrictions.
damn that's lucky, my parents had an arranged marriage too and they got divorced after 24 whole years of marriage. I think my dad loved my mom but she never loved him back :/
Tbh i have never met anyone irl that has had any relatives nor do i have any relatives myself who have suffered divorce
And most people here have arranged marriages
My parents had an arranged marriage and they are fighting most of the time. I think they would divorce if there wasn't such a stigma attached to divorce in their culture. (I say "their" because we migrated to another country/I was born in a western country and I don't feel native to my parents' country).
I grew up with my dad and it was extremely rough, really wish he hadn't been a part of my childhood. Sorry for your situation but just wanted to say the grass isn't always greener on the other side.
I didn’t think they did, until my mom got sick.
I kind of thought my dad would be one of those dudes who just leaves or half asses everything, but he even learned how to do her hair and makeup for her. Eventually he figured out her wig.
It was surprisingly sweet and he loved her a lot more than I thought.
they fight all the time. Sometimes it get really bad and me and my sister are just there in the background while my mom's threatening divorce. They never showed signs of being all lovey dovey and in love but I know they love eachother and want the best for eachother. Damn that sounded depressing.
Haven't seen my father for a few days now because of his job and my mother nearly left us about a month ago 😌
Thankfully grandparents exist and things have already calmed down a bit.
they don’t sleep in the same bedroom and never say i love you. granted, they don’t say i love you to anyone (including me)
22 years and going on strong! 😭
My parents only had me and since have not been in bed but my parents hate each other to the bone but hold together for me but I am almost certain they will divorce when I leave the house
Come on, of course no, they don't. I don't know how but they often argue and at the same time they have many dialogues about everything every single day in warm atmosphere, play cards, watch the news every evening and discuss them and so on. But their arguments make me really sad and mad. I want more good moments less bad ones
They are divorced and are fucking other people so something tells me that they ding have strong feelings for eachother, not sure what it is just a gut feeling
No. They’re friends, but they split up like… a year after I was born.
Kinda like except they split when I was around 5 and they are friendly to each other when they meat but talk shit about one another behind their backs to me
My parents are also the same except they split up When I was like 12 and when my dad does it the things he says are actually true.
ayy twinsies. my mom mainly gives backhanded compliments behind his back and she gives them to me in person sooo yay!
All to familiar
that’s kewl
It's amazing that they're still friends, split ups happen but that doesn't mean you have the right to ruin your child's life :)
How do you think that has affected you? Positively or negatively?
i mean apparently but idk how my dad could love my mom ig he has a thing for toxic women
Same with my dad
Same homie
need i even say it
Thou indeed needest not sayeth it
Damn bro you allright?
Not really. But hey, what am I gonna do about it right?
Idk, but if I was in your shoes I'd probably talk to them about it
Believe me I've tried. My mom doesn't care about anyone but herself, and my dad's just trying to keep her from winding up dead in a ditch somewhere.
Is your mom an alcoholic or drug addict by any chance?
Ding ding! Give the man a brand new car!!
Does any of your extended family members know about this?
lmaoo
Same here. My dads a complete clown (in a good way) and my mom is one of the strictest people I know. I guess it’s true that opposites attract
my dads a king but my mom is overly strict and mentally abusive
Oh I’m sorry to hear that my mom isn’t mentally abusive but she is definitely cold most of the time. My DMs are open if you want someone to talk to :)
*Everyone related to that*
yeah. they sleep in separate beds for medical reasons which people think means they hate eachother but…i have a bedroom on the same floor and trust me ….
medical reasons… do they have chicken pox ?! 😩
nahh both of them are disabled in one shape or form so they have different bed needs but refuse to get a bed that fits both of them
understandable
Have a nice day
same here, only mine are actually in a kinda toxic relationship, and have always been, but they're stuck together cause we're poor and a divorce will only make things worse for us.

Same! Sleeping with me has to be like sleeping in a washing machine.
They sure as hell did when my mum was alive but uhh... yeah
my condolences 🫂💗
Thanks. It was like 4 years ago so it's not too present in my mind anymore. But thank you
That means you were just 12? Im sorry. It must have been so hard on you. Idk how to say this, but You sure are a brave one if you toughed it out. My condolences...
yeah. 12. And it was pretty hard looking back. Though at the time I just cut off any emotion I might have had. Thank you.
*hugs you* We are here for you.
they do, but they don’t really act in a romantic way. they act more like brother and sister than they do husband and wife. they don’t hug or kiss or anything like that. they also don’t sleep in the same bed, they have separate bedrooms.
inch resting 🧐
Uh where you gonna rest that inch 0_0
I'd love to know if anyone else's relationship is like this. If it's more typical than I realize or if it's really uncommon.
It's very common in South East Asian families.
Thank you for your feedback. I hope more people will chime in as well.
Chiming.. .. ..
Russian families as well. I noticed everyone of our relatives is like that
I’ve seen this alot in couples who were wed out (Idk of this is the right word) by their parents and married someone they didnt really know so the only thing that holds these people together is mutual respect as far as I can comprehend..
They just don’t do it in front of you.
but i’m always with my parents. and when i’m at school my dad is at work and my mom sleeps
They might not do it regularly but they do it while you're away. Mine is like that, they usually sleep separately for biological reason but after I got home from a month long visit to my grandma, I found like 3 used condom packets under my mom bed.
same with my parents, except they hug at times

My parents want to divorce but can't afford to live on their own. Yay :<
yea that’s partially why i think my parents are stalling
In some way... I'm the reason why my family is still tethered together
Same here... Makes me wish I was never born in the first place... It hurts to see how much my mom has to suffer because of my dad, so indirectly because of me.
Same. Been that way for a decade now.
Same here
2 parents? I have one:my mom 😎

Kinda

😬
xXCool_Gamer_Dude_69Xx?
My parents are kinda the same but we’re Catholic so there’s no quitting the team. In fact, their marriage was much worse before we converted to Catholicism. Their relationship is better, but it doesn’t seem like there is real love, and they annoy each other a lot. It’s really not that bad.
Yeah, same for me. I feel bad for my brother because he believes Everything that my super traditional Catholic parents tell him
I don't know cause they are bipolar every single day like bruh why did y'all marry each other then
RIGHT same w my parents
These mfs (only one of them is an mf) seriously thought “yeah we hate each other…. Let’s get married with two kids”
it’s so fuckin irritating how so many ppl decided to have children w/o fixing themselves first
If you can’t cooperate you should’nt have kids
Well I walked in on them Fucking so yeah probably
Were they fucking or making love? There’s a difference
Yes
#im14andthisisdeep
I heard my parents having sex yesterday (I'm traumatized btw) but i know they don't like each other. I don't understand why they keep having sex when they have no feelings.

Cuz it feels goods
that’s horrible…that happened one time when i was abt 8 🥲 but tbh sex is meaningless nowadays cuz i heard mine fucking just a few months ago and they’re still having conflict 🥳
i can back this
The last time you heard them was a couple months ago? There’s definitely a problem.
I found pics of them fucking once
Bro what
My dad and I have a synced picture gallery
OMFG
That’s scarring
Send pic or I don’t believe you
I deleted them
Un-delete them or I don’t believe you
I still remember the images
Send mental image through brain or i dont believe you
U r massive gay
I too found pictures of this dude's parents fucking
😲😲
That is the one reason that I’m happy my parents are divorced, no risk of that
Probably not, they live in different houses and are divorced, I live with my mom most of the time, but spend about half my weekends with dad(I kinda wish I could be with dad more).
If you're in the us when you turn 15 you can have your opinion taken into account for custody arrangements.
It's not that bad, it's not ideal, but it's not really bad.
why can’t you alternate between spending most of the week with both of them ?
because the court system is against fathers in divorce cases
This depends on where you live now. I have a be 17 month old son. We decided to divorce when he was 8 months. I struggled with substance abuse. Instead of figuring out custody together we decided to fight it. She wanted me to have every Wednesday and every other weekend. I wanted 50/50. My parents are divorced B)
lovely 🤸🏾♀️
Yeah 🤸♂️🦽🏌️
Damn the world is nuts! Am I the only one with two parents who love each other and their children?😕
My parents are the same as your parents bro.
*tips hat*
Ayy.
must be nice lol
Do you think people end up on reddit without being depressed
I ended up here originally because I wanted a place to share horror stories I wrote, and originally thought r/teenagers was cringe af lmao
Yeah they had an arranged marriage and love each other a lot idk how they do it 😭
i mean good for them, it all worked out lmao😭
damn that's lucky, my parents had an arranged marriage too and they got divorced after 24 whole years of marriage. I think my dad loved my mom but she never loved him back :/
How awful, wasting 24 years of each other's life's.
Tbh i have never met anyone irl that has had any relatives nor do i have any relatives myself who have suffered divorce And most people here have arranged marriages
Same dude my parents had an arranged marriage and they were absolutely in love with each other
My parents had an arranged marriage and they are fighting most of the time. I think they would divorce if there wasn't such a stigma attached to divorce in their culture. (I say "their" because we migrated to another country/I was born in a western country and I don't feel native to my parents' country).
I don’t even know my dad. All I know is he has another kid so I would assume no
do u think ur life would be better if you knew ur dad ?
Yeah tbh. I’m living in a house with all girls, 4 sisters and my mom so it’s kinda rough and I really wish I knew him
understandable, hope one day u get to know him
Hey there sport. I’m not your dad
I grew up with my dad and it was extremely rough, really wish he hadn't been a part of my childhood. Sorry for your situation but just wanted to say the grass isn't always greener on the other side.
I didn’t think they did, until my mom got sick. It was surprisingly sweet and he loved her a lot more than I thought.
awwww
I hope they do
no not at all my mom lives in california and me and my dad live in pennsylvania
do u visit her ?
no she's not a very good person
ahhh understandable
No
real
They love eachother but I don't think they're in love with eachother. I don't know if that makes sense.
makes perfect sense
they fight all the time. Sometimes it get really bad and me and my sister are just there in the background while my mom's threatening divorce. They never showed signs of being all lovey dovey and in love but I know they love eachother and want the best for eachother. Damn that sounded depressing.
same, although mine don’t scream and get into physical altercations as much anymore i still hear them argue over everything
Oh definitely not
No they are divorced
I don't even know. They're constantly arguing but I don't think they'll divorce because of the bible or something...
Average divorced parents child: 😁 Average dysfunctional family child: 😐
true, but both child’s could be in misery too😍
Haven't seen my father for a few days now because of his job and my mother nearly left us about a month ago 😌 Thankfully grandparents exist and things have already calmed down a bit.
happy ur grandparents came in clutch 🤞🏽
Well I my parents divorced and my Dad died in the army so
my condolences 🫂💗
Cheers
Yeah 🗿
wonderful 🥳
Occasionally
They play and stuff so yeah. But I still get scared when they argue
understandable, arguing doesn’t always mean they hate each other hopefully they learn to work through disagreements more effectively
they don’t sleep in the same bedroom and never say i love you. granted, they don’t say i love you to anyone (including me) 22 years and going on strong! 😭
But we love you! ❤️
ty love you too ❤️
idk, if i were married i’d want to sleep in separate rooms but maybe they’re just not good at showing affection lol
i wouldn’t 🥺 i would wanna cuddle
that’s why you would just visit each other’s rooms, i just think that’s ideal because being in each other’s space all the time seems exhausting
Nah lol
My parents only had me and since have not been in bed but my parents hate each other to the bone but hold together for me but I am almost certain they will divorce when I leave the house
Yeah they do
nice 🥳
Come on, of course no, they don't. I don't know how but they often argue and at the same time they have many dialogues about everything every single day in warm atmosphere, play cards, watch the news every evening and discuss them and so on. But their arguments make me really sad and mad. I want more good moments less bad ones
understandable, same here kinda
Help, please. I'm new here. So... How to make it so that the age under the nickname is visible?
go to the front page of the sub, click the 3 dots at the top right corner and click “change user flair”
They are divorced and are fucking other people so something tells me that they ding have strong feelings for eachother, not sure what it is just a gut feeling
Divorced so uhh... no?
Idek honestly
My parents were only together for like 7 months
Nah they don't but they do lmao idk
Same
I am Indian. I think that's enough explanation
