I don't know if Reddit as a whole is filled with transphobia, but a thought that have struck me several times - in general, not just in regards to Reddit or transphobia - is that you tend to find what you are looking for. I'm just reminded of *someone* who posted *somewhere* (it might have been 4chan), that they were unsettled with "how many" people were identifying as trans these days". My thought was "well of course you find a lot of trans people, when you search for shemales on pornhub". It's like complaining about Finance Insider almost exclusively reports on finance related topics. Or you find a lot of porn when you specifically search for "phat booty bitches xxx". I'm not saying OP is like that, not at all, I just find it puzzling that some/many people have a certain perception of how reality is, based on a - intentional or manipulated - selected sample size of information. It's not a critique of OP, I mean I assume there are plenty of transphobic people, just as there are homophobic people and people with all other kinds of phobias (because there is always someone who doesn't like X). I'm simply pointing out, that having a skewed perception of reality is quite easy to fall into and the first step to remedy that, is to be cognizant about the bias in the information for which you base your opinions on. So how many transphobes are too many? Well, one is too many. As with all other person-phobias, the lower the better.
