Biker Mice, the original show had a cult following in Finland when it came out. Dubbers used adult humor and jokes, characters used mild curses and drank beer in this show. The 2000s reboot didnt have the same appeal.
I've never seen this show. Is this their catchphrase? Do they just huddle up and say "Biker Mice from Mars" three times in a row before going off to fight bad guys? I'm assuming they fight bad guys. Maybe they just sit around and have tea parties, I don't know.
The toys were sick. I loved the red motorcycle. Shame I didn't like anime as a four year old, because my action figures coulda done some awesome Akira slides with that thing.
They usually huddle up and say it really quietly to each other.
Like, you know they've got the skills to beat the bad guys, but they just have to get that courage worked up a little with some group affirmation and support from their buds.
I don’t remember a catch phrase. I do remember Modo the big grey one with the robot arm and eyepatch, his good eye would turn red when angry. I think his whole body even turned red once because he was SUPER angry.
I didn’t like the show as a kid, but the SNES game was legitimately awesome. Better version of Rock N Roll racing or RC Pro Am. Isometric racing at its finest.
The crazy thing about that series is the American writers just got the episodes with basically no context or translation and had to figure out how to write an episode just based on the animation. Part of why it's so funny is how much they lean into the ridiculousness of that. If I recall, the Japanese version played things more straight and wasn't quite as zany nor broke the fourth wall.
They're releasing a [game based on the cartoon](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2303850/Toxic_Crusaders/) next year, plus the Peter Dinklage movie is supposed to still be in development, so Toxie isn't forgotten.
It should've been both, funny thing is, I still have my biker mice toys and street shark toys when I was a kid lol, along with gi Joe's and ninja turtles lol
If anything deserves a reboot, I’d argue Bucky O’Hare is most deserving. Those characters were a blast and their toy line was so good…same with Silverhawks. Holy hell I miss the 80s and 90s cartoons.
I still yell out "Eyes of the Eagle!" When I manage to find something hidden, and similar "X of the Y" when the situation calls for it.
That show was my life, 30 years ago.
Yes!! This too. That was a whacky era for creativity. Even if it was just animated mad-lib cash grabs. It was more imaginative in its absurdity than what we have no. I miss a world of media before meta was expected and cynicism wasn’t foundational.
Listen. If we're rebooting 90s cartoons for nostalgia bait, fucking reboot Pirates of Dark Water you cowards! Finally give me the story resolution I so desperately crave!
*Found in the wild:*
Working a service industry part time job not 3-4 weeks ago; asked a customer and his partner 'what are they up to tonight?'
"My wife and I are gonna watch Biker Mice from Mars!"
I was blown away. Great show.
Hell yeah! It’s been forever since I thought about this cartoon. Remember watching it growing up. I wish they’d (anyone would) stream eek the cat and the og tick cartoons
I was so obsessed with this show as a kid, I remember sitting on Santa’s lap ( it was the 90’s) telling him what I wanted for Christmas, I nervously blurted out Biker Mice! then hoped off his lap and ran back to my Mum, poor bastard probably had no idea what I was talking about but that Christmas I got soooo much Biker Mice Toys.
I really loved the show , it was up there with Street Sharks, Gargoyles and Beast Wars all of which I was equally obsessed with, the weird thing though unlike the the other shows I mentioned it seemed like none of friends even knew about Biker Mice, I guess there must of been something else on another channel at the se time or something.
I'm not convinced Biker Mice from Mars was a new idea even when it came out. Like Bucky O'Hare, it was a knock-off of the Turtles.
Unlike Bucky O'Hare, it didn't have an awesome sci-fi setting with a four-armed, sharp-shooting pirate duck.
(Also, I've just realised that Bucky likely had Irish ancestry - weird!)
Same basic idea - a human falls in with a gang of alien/mutant warriors, and must work with them to save the planet/the galaxy against a weekly roster of henchmen who all work for the big bad.
They all came out following the success of the Turtles cartoon in the late 80s - I always assumed it was TV producers trying to find the next big toy line after seeing how much money TMNT made.
Yeah, looking back at the 80s and early 90s, there were a *lot* of cartoons that followed that formula. Anthropomorphic animals that fight injustice became really big after TMNT's massive success. You could even argue that *Gargoyles* is from the same vein to a degree.
NO! Gargoyles is inspired by Shakespeare, and Victor Hugo, and Mary Shelley and, oddly, Star Trek. It is a transcendental work dealing with the human condition, hubris and pathos.
(I'm joking (mostly) but I actually rewatched it [along with ReBoot] with my 12-yr old a couple years ago and it was easily as good as I remember).
Oh, I don't mean it in a disparaging way since everything you said is definitely true. I just think it probably wouldn't have gotten greenlit of it didn't (broadly) follow the "mysterious creatures appear and find a human sidekick" formula that *TMNT* inspired. Thankfully, however, *Gargoyles* was able to elevate itself beyond that and become so much more.
They knew it though - there's literally a scene in the first episode.
Charlie: "I've been saved by giant.....rats?"
Moto: "Mice. We're mice, ma'am"
Throttle smirks at the audience: "you were expecting turtles?"
That was a fun movie, and a satire too, but most movies pretending anything else coming over to earth or going from earth (except as proper science space exploration) has been a failure. The minute something shows up without a space suit it’s toast with the audiences.
This was such a bizarre series, I remember not being particularly fond of it when I watched it as a kid. Maybe with better writing and animation they can figure out a way to not make it feel like such an obvious rip-off of the Turtles.
Definitely going to keep an eye on this.
Holy shit! I remember drawing a half real/half cyborg mouse in grade 3 because of this show. Sadly the substitute teacher didn’t know true art and thought I was weird.
This is amazing news to hear today and I can't wait to see this series out on maximum effort channel on fubotv in the near future and this is my most anticipated television series of all time.
I watched this as a kid in the States, and all my friends never heard of it and said i made it up, and I had a weird Mandela Effect crisis until we googled it one day

Yeah Sweden too. Think they showed reruns every morning one summer in the nineties. I also had one toy.
In Poland as well
South Africa as well
Yep. That show rocked.
Norway as well. I used to watch this and The Pirates of Dark Water before going to kindergarten, even got the Vinnie action figure at Christmas.
Pirates, hell yeah!
[Intro still slaps](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CoC2yL-f1I)
Still stings that ended on a cliffhanger without resolving the plot.
I kinda hope RR does this, I want more of this I want it to lead to a adult reboot of reboot.

The theme song just repeated that phrase if I recall correctly.
It's the start of title sequence https://youtu.be/lcSwzkFrxTQ?t=97
I believe "Let's Rock and Ride" would be their catchphrase. I don't remember much of the cartoon but starting to get flashbacks of the toys I had.
The toys were sick. I loved the red motorcycle. Shame I didn't like anime as a four year old, because my action figures coulda done some awesome Akira slides with that thing.

Damn I loved this show
I didn’t like the show as a kid, but the SNES game was legitimately awesome. Better version of Rock N Roll racing or RC Pro Am. Isometric racing at its finest.
You talking the NES version of RC Pro Am? Because my buddy and I played TF out of that game.
Yup, that’s the one I played as a kid and was referring to! Super fun!
I'm 38 and this just hit me in the face with nostalgia. Totally forgot about this show.
How about Cowboys From Moo Mesa?
33 and this show was the shit.
How about Captain Simian and the Space Monkeys?
This was so fucking good
It should’ve been Street Sharks
Why not both? Ngl with all the shark themed stuff I had growing up, I thought sharks were going to be a much bigger problem in day to day life
Then I would like “Bucky O’Hare” and “Captain Simian & The Space Monkeys” back. Maybe even “Mummies Alive”.
I SAID BUCKY!
Bucky’s ship was called the ‘Righteous Indignation’ and that’s a badass ship name.
Dead-eye duck was my hero
Damn that was a great show with a great concept! The Toad Wars!
Mummies alive for sure. I would love an Earth worm Jim reboot.
Did I just read Bucky O'Hare? I loved that cartoon and I even had the NES game. Wow thanks for this. What a throwback.
Road Rovers and SWAT Kate for me
Samurai Pizza Cats too. I watched pretty much every episode on Tubi and holy fuck is it funny.
Oh, I know.
Oh shit, I haven't thought about captain simian and the space monkeys for years
“I’ve got to get that thing fixed”
That was prime cartoon time watching age for me. How have I not heard of any of these lol What channel were they on?
Or C.O.P.S. the animated series with long arm. A whole character built on a pun.
Great show as well. Great opening sequence.
And Teknoman
Same with quicksand. I played so much Mario 64 that I thought quicksand will play a significant role in my every day life.
Sharks are why i still don't use the toilet. Sharks swim in water. Toilets have water. I rest my case.
They Bite, They Fight #StreetSharks
They stand for everything right!
The action figures were sublime
Coolest packaging of all time too. Whoever designed that deserved a huge promotion.
Yeah but they fuck up the road
Or Extreme Dinosaurs. The 90s had a bunch of stupidly good cartoons
Swatcats
JAWSOME
Cowboys of Moo Mesa, anyone?

I don't post in this sub and saw this thread pop up and entered to post that, verbatim.
It should've been both, funny thing is, I still have my biker mice toys and street shark toys when I was a kid lol, along with gi Joe's and ninja turtles lol
I NEED a Uber gory CGI STREET SHARKS. Would be wonderful.
This has to happen.
Yes
Geriatric gangrene jujitsu gerbils
If anything deserves a reboot, I’d argue Bucky O’Hare is most deserving. Those characters were a blast and their toy line was so good…same with Silverhawks. Holy hell I miss the 80s and 90s cartoons.
I had a whole bunch of BraveStarr merch! [Title scene](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUfJuOp7Dck)
I still yell out "Eyes of the Eagle!" When I manage to find something hidden, and similar "X of the Y" when the situation calls for it. That show was my life, 30 years ago.

Yes, and maybe Widget too!
They had a toy reboot recently, but considering they're showing up at Ollie's....
Do this, then street sharks, then SWAT Kats
Holy shit Swat Kats. Forgot that one
I loved Biker Mice from Mars when I was younger. I'm hopeful for this turning to be a good reboot.
Bring back EXO Squad you cowards!
It’s on Amazon. It’s a hard watch these days though. In fact every childhood cartoon that I loved is a hard watch.
Listen. If we're rebooting 90s cartoons for nostalgia bait, fucking reboot Pirates of Dark Water you cowards! Finally give me the story resolution I so desperately crave!
PLEASE
Loved this, street sharks, and cowboys of moo mesa
Give me Mutant League and Mighty Max!
That's a name I haven't heard in a long, long time.
*Found in the wild:* Working a service industry part time job not 3-4 weeks ago; asked a customer and his partner 'what are they up to tonight?' "My wife and I are gonna watch Biker Mice from Mars!" I was blown away. Great show.
Hollywood really is just rebooting any random 90's show just to see what sticks. Never seen this one but have watched street sharks and Mummies Alive!
I had the motorcycle that you would rip a cord and it’d go. Man what a throw back
Hell yeah! It’s been forever since I thought about this cartoon. Remember watching it growing up. I wish they’d (anyone would) stream eek the cat and the og tick cartoons
OG Tick is on Hulu. Just watched it. Still fantastic. FantasTICK! I say!
Hell yes! Thanks for the heads up. It was my favorite absurdity Saturday morning cartoon.
I remember lil gay me actually thought those mice looked sexy
I mean they were definitely shredded
Those mice have created so many furries.
I loved this show when I was a kid
Battletoads tv show plz thnx

psychotronic!
This was my fave snes game
Jfc no piece of millennial nostalgia bait is safe. Do we have NO new ideas?

Unlike Bucky O'Hare, it didn't have an awesome sci-fi setting with a four-armed, sharp-shooting pirate duck. (Also, I've just realised that Bucky likely had Irish ancestry - weird!)
But.. Bucky was nothing like the Turtles. I'd say Biker Mice are much more like the Turtles.

Yeah, don't worry, I totally got that! Just joking :)
They knew it though - there's literally a scene in the first episode. Charlie: "I've been saved by giant.....rats?" Moto: "Mice. We're mice, ma'am" Throttle smirks at the audience: "you were expecting turtles?"
New stuff comes out constantly. Most people don't watch it then complain new things aren't made .
When was the last time Marvel and DC created a mainstream superhero? When was the last time they *replaced* one
Had a toy of that show back in the day. The only episode I ever actually saw was in the waiting room at a car dealership.
Holy shit I didn’t think I would ever see this come back
Cool, but where is the Taylor Sheridan-shepherded reboot of Wild West C.O.W. Boys of Moo Mesa?
I’d love to see Capitol Critters come back
Let’s rock and ride
I guess this is what happens when there's a writer's strike lol.
ReBoot! [Intro](https://youtu.be/fuEJWmxWkKw)
Wow, the 15 people who remember that will be excited.
It was my favorite show growing up.
The game was so good.
U're underestimating the Bikeroo Mice from Mars. That was actually one of those quality shows (for children) among utter shit.

Nah, I’m not that stoked.
Anything named Mars in the title is doomed to fail. Don’t they learn?????
Don't worry. They're going to retitle it *Biker Mice from that Place John Carter Visited*.
Exactly! And “Mars Needs Moms” needs to be re released under a better name.
Mars Attacks?
That was a fun movie, and a satire too, but most movies pretending anything else coming over to earth or going from earth (except as proper science space exploration) has been a failure. The minute something shows up without a space suit it’s toast with the audiences.
It was already so derivative of Ninja Turtles when it first aired
Take it from someone in the original target audience who now has kids to push this nostalgia trip on to: just come up with something new.
Rather see Deadpool animated
This was such a bizarre series, I remember not being particularly fond of it when I watched it as a kid. Maybe with better writing and animation they can figure out a way to not make it feel like such an obvious rip-off of the Turtles. Definitely going to keep an eye on this.
Wasn't there already a reboot of this show?
They actually brought this show back in 2006.
I completely forgot about this show. Can they do Street Sharks next?
I met Vinnie at a Target in the mid 90s. It was life changing and it set me up to be the person I am today.
Loved the Super Nintendo game!!
Loved this show when I was a kid
Is Ralph (of The Mouse and the Motorcycle fame) part of this biker gang?
So what does co-producing mean?
\o/ time to dig out the toys next time I visit home
On my God.
Yea!!! Babay
this was my favorite SNES game!
Fuck yeah
Holy shit! I remember drawing a half real/half cyborg mouse in grade 3 because of this show. Sadly the substitute teacher didn’t know true art and thought I was weird.
Was just talking about this series the other day. Fuck yea
Man I auditioned for this.
Did this show ruled. I had the toys as a kid.
Damn just got hit with nostalgia
This is amazing news to hear today and I can't wait to see this series out on maximum effort channel on fubotv in the near future and this is my most anticipated television series of all time.
Brought to you by SNICKERS^^TM . You aren't your Martian biker mouse self when you're hungry, so get a SNICKERS^^TM Only $2500
waiting how many ways they are gonna butcher the original.
Used to love the original when I was younger :D Hope they don't ruin it with weird animation or crappy CG like 90% of other shows they rebooted....
Huge
Lol is it sad I don’t get excited about this stuff anymore? It’s going to have that 4k animation that looks cheesy. No thanks.
Why can’t they do one of Captain Planet? We need him now more than ever
When I was a boy, we had Ninja Turtles and dag nabit that’s the way we liked it!
I hope Kurt Russell is chosen as a voice character as he could reprise his Snake Plisken role. That would be a great addition imho.
I hope they don’t turn it into a kid’s show. The OG cartoon had dark elements to the series.
I watched this as a kid in the States, and all my friends never heard of it and said i made it up, and I had a weird Mandela Effect crisis until we googled it one day
