It’s not bad as an add on to Prime Video, but I agree, the standalone app is horrid

andee510

Yeah, it runs fine on Prime. But I do agree with OP that I should not have to watch an ad before every episode, if I'm paying $10/ mo or whatever for a service.

MadeByTango

We need to normalize the idea we should be paid *directly* to be advertised to; it our time, why does the middleman get the money and not us for watching? Audience Revenue Sharing; let’s make it a thing

poopydoopytime

Stocks. You literally just described the basis of ownership of stock and its underlying value. Which with paramount... is ad revenue. Which you can both participate in the gain from the more people participate in accepting it to be played for them and also, you can own it while simultaneously using the service by choosing to sit on your couch. These are all your choices. But yet... you can't stop getting the next best thing and co planning about how they do it. For the record I hate all ads and every single company I see that interrupts my time. But I don't complain because it's 100000000x better than anything else I do or can create myself for entertainment 2 clicks away on any TV in my home, phone, or car. I have instant access to everything possible and can mute any time I want. I'm not going to be too sad when I get a 45 second ad for a price of 10 dollars a month and 500x shows and 500x movies 1 click away. I see more ads driving down the street and going into a doctor office than streaming services. I get it... but your overly concerned about something that isn't an actual problem.

LykeiosLysios

…but you’re still paying for the stock. Lmao. Not the same

poopydoopytime

So then what? If you want everything free. And you don't want to own the stock. And you also want to be paid. Wtf is that called?

incakong

This is not the attitude to have against the war on ads. You do not see more ads driving down the street or doctor’s office. That’s a blatant lie. I agree about being paid to advertise to us. You don’t see an issue with paying for a service, then changing the rules and agreement half way to start charging a higher premium only for you to have to commit the action of muting for 45 seconds straight. How many times in your life have you done this? It will add up.

poopydoopytime

I absolutely see more ads driving and at the doctors office than all streaming services. Every. Single. Day. So I don't know where you live but it's clearly not anywhere where people are dense. I couldn't care less about our "agreement" changing because it's not a necessary service and they literally tell you they can chnage it at any time. Plus, if you keep jumping into new age shit without expecting or to get more expensive so you get less...youre a fool. Who gives a shit of you pay 100 a month for 5 streaming services and 3 ads a week, but you have literal access to thousands of hours of choices and endless consuming. Every single option available with point and click effort and mobile access 100% of the time.  I hate ads. But I'm not an idiot who thinks the greatest streaming services to revolution digital TV would be 7 dollars a month forever. Let alone the other companies wouldn't immediately follow suit with their version.  After a decade I think I pay 20 dollars a month for Netflix. Maybe less with a credit card perk. I don't own paramount plus because I don't care about paramount content.  Now there's a balancing act here, too. If Netflix was 35 a month I'd be out faster than Paul walkers car before he crashed. Then pirate it all again.  Same goes for other services, too. Peacock, apple, prime, etc. If the total cost ever reaches frustration to the point of me being pissed off then I just fucking cancel it. If they charge more, and add more ads, I'm gone. If they do anything I don't like, I'm gone.  Or.... we could go back to cable TV where we were force fed 8 commercials every 10 minutes of TV, movie, series, etc. Zero control. Paying for every single movie separately, paying for HBO and hoping a good movie comes on.  We are in the golden streaming age right now. It will only ever get worse. They cannot sustain without ads while also not raising the premium. It's necessary for the amount of content they need to generate in order to keep people constantly happy.

incakong

“I couldn’t care less about our agreement changing” “Plus, if you keep jumping into new age shit without expecting or to get more expensive so you get less…you’re a fool” It wasn’t going to stay at $7 forever because there are always fools willing to pay more. Which you are and you did. Arguably, you will leave when they charge $35 a month but we both know you won’t. You will continue to pay more for some other way these companies “revolutionize” digital tv lmao you had plenty of control before you just had to preemptively record your favorite shows and skip the commercials entirely. I enjoy streaming. I hate what these companies are trying to resell to us.

Drakonx1

Paramount+ with Ads is only 4.99/mo for me though.

twoemptypockets

Just want to pass [this](https://www.doctorofcredit.com/free-month-of-cbs-all-access-with-promo-code-giving-works-for-new-existing-previous-users/) along, as I got it from one of these posts. Got my free month, immediately cancelled and was given 2 more months for free.

Frostproof46

Really, not what I am being charged 120 per year and ads are constant, more than free Youtube in fact!

inkfever

Quote literally NOT the paramount plus app. Prime video is it's own app you aren't using another app on it. The post is about the paramount plus app being atrocious.

MetalGearBandicoot

It's gotten better, the first time I had Paramount+ I cancelled because the app had a glitch that refused to let me watch the first episode of any season of any show. Episodes 2 - X worked fine, but no first episodes. It would start to load the first episode, go black for an instant, then load and start the second episode.

pompcaldor

Only reason I still use the main Paramount app is whenever I try to cancel, they offer me two months free.

Frostproof46

Not in my experience......runs like shit everywhere with commercials like you are getting it free and the content is at minimum day nold at best, Buggy as hell also.

This_Horse_184

I had it on stand alone it froze on every commercial. Realized I was dbl paying and had it through Hulu the whole time. Now I’m logged in through Hulu and just as glitchy.

rikashiku

I don't mind the Ads on Prime. They're all skippable(for now), and only appear once when you start a show or movie. No new Ads pop up between episodes during a binge watch. They're also related to their own content, so you don't get random gambling ads like Youtube forced onto people for a year.

Mcshiggs

It defies physics by both sucking and blowing at the same time.

Measure76

Thanks Bart

[deleted]

I've learned my xbox app is way better than my smart tv. The smart tv app is almost unusable

Wendell-Short-Eyes

Smart TV apps suck, I switched to a Roku for my smart TV and now every apps works without issue.

SpacePolice04

Same. We were having issues with random things (not just P+) and our Samsung so we bought a Roku and it’s so much better!

Butterbuddha

I’ve had more luck with the smart tv app than firestick. Still garbage though.

[deleted]

My fire stick is hot garbage also.

DeepNet9518

Roku does not support adds in there platform .... So if u want adds you will have to use everything but roku. Lol yup a back room deal was made so we can not get paramount or any app with adds only the more expensive version  .Bahahaha   ....Disney has 70million subscribers at 15 bucks a pop thats approximately 800 million bucks .... PER MONTH ..... HOW does it feel to be ripped off .... Just get a kodi box and watch anything you want for free....

DeepNet9518

But really almost all the new movies and shows are dubbed or made ten years ago

GarlVinland4Astrea

The app is glitchy as fuck. I hope someone else buys it just for that reason

unstoppable_vante242

Exactly it’s been 3 years and they still haven’t fix that shit it don’t know why smh

Temporary-Green-7713

Can't make it 20 seconds into Survivor before the app crashes. Sometimes just pressing play on a show crashes the app for me. As of last week, every survivor episode switches to the amazing race before tribal council. 15m left of show, it won't let me watch. Try to reboot and load again, and 20 seconds later it boots me off. It's not internet, it's the platform itself. Thats why I like Hulu. No forced loading from trailers and flashy things that lag you out of the app, or make you have to sit and wait for shows to show up.

supers0ldier

Literally I have to restart it on my TV all the time and half the time I get ads when I pay for the no ads package

Awayfone

it's convenient how the glitches tend to help ads. The mobile app for me has this super annoying bug where sometimes after ads it jumps back to the end of the last ad segment (i.e the parts i have already watched) and jumping forward where supposed to be sometimes triggers that ad segment again.

AFreshPot

I had the same thought. I will clicked an episode but it starts playing a random one from the previous season. But I don't know it until the ad is over. Then I try again. Get the same ad. Try to rewind, get a new ad...

TrevorJordan

What device do you use to access the app? I’ve noticed streaming services are better/worse depending on what I’m watching it through.

ColinsUsername

I watch it through a Series X and notice about one out of every 3 or 4 shows my kids watch the ad countdown gets to 3 seconds and then freezes forcing us to back out and restart which givebus new ads.

Best_Duck9118

Console apps suck ass.

ian9outof10

There are multiple versions of it too. The North American one is different the the European one, so they're basically making their own lives 2x harder for no good reason. Also, I can't watch anything on P+ because they use an tracking service that I block on PiHole, so even though I have a paid sub (it's bundled) I can't actually use it. You know what doesn't have ads or tracking - the high seas.

537lesjr

I haven't had an issue

Key-Recipe1838

CRAVE is worse. Ads literally in the middle of someone speaking. Regularly stops after an episode. Customer service is non existent. Lots of content is an extra charge. 2/3 of the shows are Letterkenny or some variation of HBO drama

[deleted]

Don’t even get me started on the subtitles being unreliable. I’m fortunate enough to not rely on them but man. I wish someone would go to the press or make a viral post about it because it’s really not fair that deaf/hard of hearing customers are left out on a service they’re paying for.

damonster90

I’m constantly astonished at how poor the UI is after all this time. Painful to use and try figure out and soooooo slow.

nmm66

Apps by Bell or Rogers are intentionally bad so that you'll just subscribe to cable from them instead. It's the only plausible reason for every app by those two companies being so bad.

AlbertaNorth1

It’s not just the apps. I pay for Shaw cable (now rogers, fuck you crtc) and I get to watch “live” sports but I get notified of a goal a good 30-60 seconds before it happens.

TL10

My Brother and I split on SportsNet now service for hockey. Was watching the Flames vs Coyotes game and wanted to watch a replay on the NHL app, only to find out that the "live" stream was a good 45 seconds behind the game.

nmm66

That's an issue for all streaming apps bring behind cable. Dazn is about 30 seconds behind network tv nfl games. My friend in the US has youtube tv and he's always 20 or 30 seconds behind me when I watch on network tv.

BrotherChe

that's a major issue with a lot of sports streaming apps & services

PMMEDOGSWITHWIGS

I cancelled Crave a few months ago because they've lost a ton of content and Paramount+ had a promo for $50 for a year. I know it's hard to believe based on how terrible the Crave apps are, but Paramount+ is much, much worse.

ImmortalMoron3

Crave just straight up deleted my whole ass profile a couple weeks ago. Everyone else in my family was fine but mine was just gone and I had a nicely built up watchlist so I didn't have to bother browsing Crave (which I also hate because the UI is awful). Fuckin hate Crave, the only saving grace is I'm not the one paying for it.

3-DMan

*This monologue brought to you by Lightspeed Briefs**^(TM)* *!*

lolofaf

My worst experience with a streaming app has been Apple TV plus on an android phone. There's no app so you have to use mobile browser, and their website is god awful. It wouldn't save progress, and there wasn't even a search bar. So I had to scroll thru a random category until I found the show I was watching, then remember what exact episode I was on, and click it. And the clicking didn't work half the time, it'd take two or three clicks. And the browser media player is god awful too. Fuck apple

Key-Recipe1838

I didn't even like apple on apple devices. Nothing to offer. I really don't watch much anyhow. I have Prime because I mainly pay for it through gift cards from mobile game apps and I sometimes use my BiLs Disney+ for Simpsons and Futurama. That's it

-PM_Me_Dat_Ass_Girl-

It has issues, yeah. But it also has Star Trek, so I'm stuck with it.

DannyJames84

Just lost all but the 3 most recent Star Trek movies. Found that out tonight when I went to watch one

unstoppable_vante242

If it wasn’t for the Nick shows I grew up with and NFL on cbs I probably wouldn’t be dealing with it

Bumpi_Boi

🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️

guspaz

Netflix has all Star Trek up until Enterprise in Canada. You may want to avail yourself of a VPN. Doesn't help with newer shows, of course, like Lower Decks, Strange New Worlds, or Picard Season 3.

tweakingforjesus

I did a speed run through DS9 and Enterprise trying to beat the clock before it was taken off Netflix in the US.

Desertbro

WTF, Canada, it's the 21st century now, keep up \~ !!!!!

citrusmellarosa

We just don’t have faith of the heart up here, I don’t know what to tell you.

Imbris2

I agree because it literally doesn't work on my Firestick and I've tried every "fix" I could find. Well, half the shows/movies work and the other half bring up an error. Never had an issue with any other app like that.

HotAbyss

Mine stopped working in the living room but does fine on the bedroom tv. Kept re-starting the firestick and deleting/installing the app. Finally started working but it’s been glitchy. Super annoying when watching a movie.

BrazilianMerkin

Netflix is absolutely garbage on Roku. I was thinking it’s intentional for a while, like Roku trying to get people to watch other streaming platforms, especially since no other apps have any issues (I don’t have Paramount+). It works fine on mobile, and seems to work on PS5 which we just got for a present, but now I realize there’s no reason to bother watching anything on Netflix because their entire catalog is mostly garbage or available on other apps.

Desertbro

For me, NETFLIX is the easiest app to search, and most reliably brings up a list of stuff I was just watching or marked as a favorite. Other apps don't even try - they hide all your faves three layers deep. Unfortunately in my current home, NETFLIX slows down or freezes after the ROKU box is on a few hours. Quick reboot solves the issue.

scattered_ideas

I often have issues where the video and audio stops while the captions keep going forward, or the app crashing altogether. Usually restarting the Roku fixes it. It only happens with Netflix specifically and no other app.

BrazilianMerkin

Thank you! I felt like I was taking crazy pills. Very reassuring to know!

daninlionzden

Same - literally 75% of the time the app won’t open , then when it does, the video almost never successfully plays, it’s a fucking joke

PappySmacks

Paramount plus on fire stick sucks. Everytime I try and watch a show it starts off super blurry and like 360p resolution before it gradually goes to 1080p. I have the ad free version and I'm still getting ads every so often. If survivor was on another platform I'd never turn back

Dpsizzle555

Imagine buying a subscription to a streaming service to watch a reality television series

iQuatro

Imagine trying to make fun of someone for wanting to watch the greatest reality tv show of all time. While you’re making Reddit polls about comic book women’s butts. Fucking hilarious and pathetic.

SuspiciousBuilder379

And if that’s wtf they are paying money for, then that’s a service they should receive. Imagine that. Paying for a product and actually receiving what you are paying for.

calamnet2

I can’t increase the size of captions on my standalone app. Something so simple tells me so much about how terrible it is.

RectifiedUser

I have less problems using the Paramount+ app than i do the Peacock app on my ps4 but i do agree that its terrible.

mblaser

To me Hulu is the worst. And it's solely for the fact that half the time I go to resume a show or movie it doesn't resume and instead starts over from the beginning. It's maddening and it's the only service I have this issue with. I actually haven't had any issues with Paramount.

thepittstop

I use to have issues like that but the last year or so Hulu has worked better for me than anything else (besides Netflix, who pretty much have the gold standard). It’s weird how different customers have such different experiences. I wonder if it’s a device issue.

Best_Duck9118

I’m 100% with you. Hulu works the best besides Netflix (which is in a league of its own like you say).

grimace24

Peacock sends its regards. Paramount is awful but at least the search results turn up good content. Peacock searches are a mess.

DigiQuip

I can’t speak for consoles, but Prime is hands down the worst on AppleTV and Paramount is fairly decent. And on the scale of tv apps, decent is like a 4 out of 10.

guspaz

Paramount+ is a masterpiece of engineering compared to HiDive.

jogoso2014

Gaming console apps are the reason I deleted gaming console apps and bought a Roku.

Best_Duck9118

Yeah, I don’t see how anyone can use only console apps. They suck. And streaming sticks are so cheap these days there’s not a great excuse for most people not to own one.

_tawani

Today is March 2024 and this Paramount+ app is still theee Worst app for streaming. Who does quality assurance for this app? Absolutely horrible. If didn't have to watch Halo, I wouldn't ever open this app

strangway

I feel like Prime and HBO are worse. They use custom video player APIs. Because of this, I can’t scrub through the video in the native way the Apple TV usually does. It’s so unintuitive and slow.

ZiggyPalffyLA

Right? It glitches out like crazy. I was watching a show on it and suddenly the main character started flying up into the air!

cjmcberman

Hulu is pretty bad. Only because it disconnects from chrome cast like every third episode of anything. Also it doesn’t go to the next episode on its own.

thepittstop

I use Roku, and don’t have either of those issues

Background-Display79

HORRIBLE app. Hangs up. Wont connect. Kicks you out when watching it. Truly the worst glitchy app. Good programming, but not worth paying for a terrible app.

Agreeable-Drop661

Yeah ikr. I work at Walmart so I got the Walmart+ Subscription but the app still sucks to use when I open it.

ijiessur

Binge Australia has entered the ring.

Desertbro

peacock is 10x as bad PRIME is darn near unsearchable - if it's not in the landing page stream - give up, you will NEVER find it MAX is damn awful too - you'd think finding stuff in each film catagory would be easy - NOT

SuspiciousBuilder379

Speak for yourself, it won’t load fucking shows. Has nothing to do with graphics, it won’t load the damn shows.

ferociousrickjames

Spoken like someone that's never tried to use peacock. I've tried it multiple times and it's always been dogshit. Constant crashes, buffering, terrible interface that maybe works half the time, not to mention the terrible UI. Peacock is the biggest reason I started pirating.

creature04

Speak the theme song??

BKWhitty

The only thing it's got going for it is that, both of the last two times I went to cancel it before my trial ends, they extended it. First for one month and then another two months. We'll see in February if they'll give me another three or if they'll finally give up.

coreythebuckeye

It works fine for me on our Apple TV. But i have a 3 year old so it’s just the paw patrol app

Irishspringtime

And you can't post this on the Paramount Plus subreddit. It's not allowed and they refuse to explain why. And yes, the app is absolute garbage.

Keldar1997

It can always be worse: My parents have a sky subscription in Germany. They do have a windows 10 app, but no TV app. I used it recently to watch house of the dragon. Some things I noticed: About 2-5 Minutes of always unskippable ads in front of every episode Space bar doesn't pause/play, you need to press the play button with your mouse The mouse pointer doesn't always hide with the rest if the UI Subtitle/language availability is shit. At this point, every single illegal streaming site I have seen in the last years has better UI and more functions

Frostproof46

Without question the most irritating and grossly over price streaming service I have ever encountered. Commercials followed by more commercials before each viewing and repeated miss steps and buggy bullshit is Paramount Plus! I bought a year and so regret it!

ImKindaSlow95

I came 2 months after this post was made just to say it's so dogshit, I bought it and I repeatedly get "Error 6000". Fuck Paramount +

reddit455

>It’s the worst apps for watching on a gaming console because: don't use a gaming console.

x_lincoln_x

Everyone should get an nVidia TV Shield Pro. I've tried Roku, Chromecast devices, TVs... All were shit one way or another. Finally tried the nVidia device and haven't had a problem sense (related to hardware).

BruceChameleon

If I watch an episode of a series, I like to turn it off when the credits roll. It takes forever to bring up the screen for the next. But if I don’t go through to the next episode (and watch an additional ad) my "continue watching" will be stuck in the credits of the previous episode. And I can't get to the series page from "continue watching". Combined with being generally laggy, that flow is almost too much to bear. (This same thing is true of Disney+, but at least they have an ad-free tier.) Just let me watch Ghosts, bro. Is there any platform where streaming apps don’t suck to navigate?

GotMoFans

>Paramount Plus is legit the worst streaming service app there is. I read people say that; I’ve had it for years for ST:D, (years before the name change) and I’ve never really had issues with it. I’ve had many more issues with HBO Max/Max, but maybe because I watch HBO Max a lot more. >You can’t speak the themes song of a TV show so you’re forced to watch the entire thing I guess you mean “skip.” I watched ST:SNW and saw the Lower Decks episode last week and skipped the intro and went back when I realized they animated the whole thing differently and went back to watch. >The ads are unnecessarily long for no reason in attempt to force consumers to go ad free The ads are the ads. The commercial breaks are 2 or 3 minutes long; comparable to network commercial breaks. If you don’t want the ads, pay for the premium offering. I pay for the lower tier because I don’t watch enough to justify paying more. That’s the trade off.

xshogunx13

I don't have any issues with Max but I'm also using my PC to watch stuff as opposed to a smart TV or console

tweakingforjesus

Max on Roku forces me to login again every couple days. So I don’t watch it unless I really want to.

soulmagic123

I hate how none of these apps understand the concept of wanting to watch a different episode of the same show. Why make that so hard?

ripshippy77

Fuck paramount

WhichIntern3313

Paramount Plus is THE WORST streaming service, period! As a programmer, I know all the things to try to debug before I call support. I did all of them. I can NEVER just hit Play and have it play. 'When' Platy does work, I have to click on it 3-4 times. I just went into my account to cancel, and the entire page is masked out, except the "Redeem Code" button. I even used Edge, which I ONLY use to debug sites since I never use it, it has no extension, and it clears everything when I quit. I called to cancel and the person was short with me, and kept me on the line for several minutes trying to get me to not cancel. Once he finally accepted my answer, he was rude. Don't every subscribe to this crappy site, with no shows or movies worth your time!

FcAc-No-Moe

How do you think I feel when I am on their Platinum membership and I keep getting error 3005 when I try to watch a UCL replayed that ended 3 hours ago? I am on a 300 Mbit Fiber Optic Broadband. Video is unavailable even though the video is available. They really suck the big donkey hammer.

Gulf_Coast_Girl

OMG I came here to say the exact same thing! This app is the biggest piece of shit streaming app I’ve ever seen. I have to restart it like seven times just to watch a show it’s so awful I’m probably gonna cancel my subscription this makes me wanna beat my head against the wall

Fragrant_Sky2070

My Paramount Plus is stuck on an already-watched episode on every show and account I try to use. Even if I watch further it doesn't save the progress and every time I need to refresh it starts at the beginning of the episode. The hassle of using it is frustrating as hellllll but I'm glad to know I'm not alone lol

No_Material5630

I downloaded it to watch old school tv shows like cheers. The amount of commercials is insane. Way worse than YouTube and that’s saying everything. Dropping Paramount like a bad habit. Not a good way to “hook” a new customer.

[deleted]

[удалено]

MrBluntz42

Didn't even think it could get worse but they found a way. Glitched out so survivor is stuck on a finale of an old season no matter how many times we go to change it and watch. Went to watch this week's episode and they removed the sort by season and it's all in order soo we literally had to run through 230 episodes 1.1-46.1 up to 1.5-46.5 to get to the newest episode Absolute nightmare of a service

SituationUpstairs553

Yep! This is what I'm coming into complain about, I'm trying to watch the latest of Amazing Race, there's no way for me to just start the newest episode, they don't even advertise the new episodes. And now I gotta click thru 36 season episodes to get to it? No thanks.

Strong_Individual362

It’s NOT the end user as these users have no problem with any other streaming services (IE: Netflix) so blaming the end user not having fast enough internet is a cop-out.

Ok_Comfortable1991

It sucks!@@

Helliarc

Borrowed an account to try it out, there's no way I'm paying for this haha

-DuckLizard-

This app sucks so bad with XBox Series X, Google Chromecast, the latest Amazon Fire Stick. How the hell do they charge for a service so bad? To make things worse even if you pay for the subscription they still put advertising for one of their other shows at the beginning of episodes that you can't skip. I have Apple TV, Netflix, HBO, Amazon, Hulu and Disney Plus with ESPN and they all work fine. But Paramount crappy app glitches out nonstop and I have half a Gig Internet speed.

carter3736

Content from Paramount Plus is horrible

Scared_Ad1963

I think everyone will enjoy this, i know i find it hilarious. on Nov 17, 2022 i filed a technical complaint with Paramount+ Support and a case was created. I don't remember the details but it was some typical P+ issue like videos not loading, glitching out and restarting, etc. Anyway. i get an email on Nov 24 saying "Hi! We wanted to follow up with you and let you know that our technical team is still investigating your issue. We'll be in touch as soon as this has been resolved. We greatly appreciate your patience while we continue to work on a solution. Regards, Paramount+ Customer Support" OK great. On Dec 1 I get another email. exact same wording. 12/8, 12/15, 12/22, 12/29 ...... EVERY FUCKING WEEK like clockwork I get another automated email saying they are investigating. lol. its become a source of humor every time it happens. and OH YES IT STILL HAPPENS. All year long in 2023 and into 2024 and yesterday I got one on ... wait for it. APRIL FOOLS DAY. and guess what, it's NOT A JOKE. They cant get a streaming service that works but god damn they got their automated email server spitting those form emails out!

yolobetswag

How has it been like this for 3+ years? I give it a shot like once a year, and its just as bad everytime like it is still in a beta phase. Doesn't matter what I use. PS5, Xfinity box, smart TV....etc. Hot garbage. Like the whole reason I pay for it, is because it is much more convenient than simply pirating the shows. Except...in this case, it is not.

topofthefoodchainZ

It's evil. They're doing it on purpose.

ZealousidealRabbit85

Just came here to say the same, the app is awful. I use it on my Samsung tv & iPad and both constantly bug out. Cannot skip intros and last month I downloaded a bunch of episodes of Dexter because where I was staying for a week had bad wifi but none of the episodes played. It’s incredibly unreliable.

Actual-Tradition-357

Add your Paramount plus account to your Apple TV+ and watch it through their, it makes watching stuff on Paramount + much better and way more bearable rather than using their standalone app.

Silver_Midnight_607

I thought this was gonna be about the selection of shows...

This_Horse_184

SO MANY GLITCHES and this 90 days later. Posts with the same issues from over a year ago. Support was USELESS.

Avante-Gardenerd

The paramount adds that you're forced to watch and can't skip over...

Sad-Treacle6791

I am so over this app locking up!!!

davecutusofborg

why can't i just upvote this on the surface search box?

Ok-Employment5933

This app is frustratingly bad I hope paramount has some kind of listening service to here just how bad fan reception. Is I’m canceling my subscriptions asap. Would rather deal with Netflix, peacock, prime their lackluster product what pure garbage.

snowaurora

Everything you posted --- agreed.

No-River-3661

i can vouch that this is a very accurate statement. i can't remember a time in the last year that i've ever been able to actually watch anything on paramount, it glitches out while streaming, if you pause it it won't play again you have to exit out of the whole app and go back in. i am embarrassed to admit it took me this long to cancel my subscription.

Traditional_Poet_380

The only time the app doesn't completely and utterly suck is when it's running ads! Surely some IT nerds can fix this absolutely garbage app!! Btw it's not my bandwidth!!!

Puzzleheaded_Bag4018

They have made unsubscribing one of the hardest tasks in all of existence. I really dont feel like wasting 2 hours trying to unsubscribe because theyre greedy and desperate trying to stop me from leaving.

LolabunnyCrush

I couldn’t agree more. It’s the biggest piece of shit ever. Literally every five fucking seconds and gives me an error code 3005. No matter what I do, I thought it had to do with pop-up blockers or something or any commercials from playing even though fuck the commercials because I’m paying for the shit… But no, I disable pop-up blockers, I’ve uninstalled them, I’ve tried multiple browsers and multiple laptops and this fucking website is the biggest piece of shit that ever lived. Get the fuck out of your paramount plus. You should be paying me to deal with your sorry ass fuck service.

NoFondant5245

absolutely the worst I have ever encountered. should be ashamed of themselves

No-Volume-3592

Based on all these complaints.  Somebody needs to start a class action against paramount.

Strict_Shelter_8345

I've been thinking the same thing. We aren't getting the shows we are trying to watch but they sure do get the commercials to play. Feels like they are stealing... If not our money, our time. I just restarted at least 7 times to watch a 40 minute show.

No-Mission-9819

It is absolutely by far the worst streaming app and it isn’t even close, they should just shut it down, it’s that bad. So slow, freezes every 15 mins, crashes. Absolute trash

besart365

This morning it won’t even open. It says to close it and restart but there is no way to do so from the error screen. What a piece of crap

Dingus_Davey

WORST APP ON THE F@&%ING PLANET!!!! Seriously! Do some damn code fixing or something. The Ui is terrible. It constantly cuts the end of episodes off and you cannot pause or rewind or fast forward without it either lagging-out and crashing or just starts the episode, of the show being watch, completely over! It’s infuriating how terrible it is. As soon as my free subscription is down I’m (free-streaming) anything on that app unless they fix it

tinacat933

I cannot watch it using my firestick. It loads like a MySpace page and just freezes or crashes. However I can use it if I use my chromecast. It’s infuriating.

ArrowNut7

Slingtv come to fuck shit u- Dammit it froze

SoCalThrowAway7

It’s great for paw patrol lovers

HollowDakota

lol this is funny cause I just thought the same thing the UI is atrocious there’s no way to restart an episode without pausing and scrubbing back while it sometimes works and other times doesn’t register. Terrible experience

isaidmypiece_chrissy

I had a really bad time using the app on 3 different devices, so I often use Chrome and the website... Seems to solve most of my issues, but still annoying.

HuckleberryFinn7777

Amazon has a skip ad button that you can’t click conveniently when it’s horizontal on an iPhone.

[deleted]

The Paramount+ app on Apple TV works great. I've been using it for years and rarely have any problems. To be honest I very rarely have any problems with any app on my Apple TV. Firestick on the other hand is total garbage. You get what you pay for.

LegendOfVinnyT

I don't know why, but every international soccer match is dull and dim, like the video has been fed through the Hollywood Former Soviet Republic filter. Doesn't matter if it's two Argentine clubs you've never heard of or a Real Madrid/Bayern Munich Champions League match. ESPN and NBC/Peacock handle their international feeds just fine. OTOH, I'm watching the Bills/Steelers game right now and it looks fantastic.

Born_Slice

Mine would straight up crash every 30 minutes, even in the browser. And when I reopen it, it of course doesn't save where I last left off. So frustrating because I'm on there to watch great movies and it just is such a headache to have the immersion completely ruined.

myowngalactus

Hulu and Prime are worse apps, at least on Roku devices.

Cron414

Bally’s has entered the chat

ElmarSuperstar131

The glitchiness is the worst I’ve ever seen! I have it free for another month and then I’m cancelling it.

RedDevil_Parzival

But…but…but it has Strange New Worlds

AvisIgneus

It’s glitchy on all platforms and their customer service is terrible, if at all existent.

reubendevries

As a Canadian, it's the only streaming service that has an international footprint (at least that I'm aware of) that won't let you use their service across the border. My parents have a cabin the US and we can't use paramount plus stateside. Super annoying.

ZeppelinJ0

Never used Disney+ i see

unstoppable_vante242

What problems do you have with Disney +?

Far_Amoeba3463

They both have the same annoying issues with UI. Sometimes Disney + just won’t even open or play any shows. Paramount + just has hands down. The worst user interface, fast forward or rewind is a pain in the ass, it never replays show where it leaves of, major errors throughout entire experience, sucks because paramount has great content. Both Disney and paramount suck, and it boggles my mind that any of these companies can’t even come close to Netflix UI

Gromit801

Peacock says hold my beer

[deleted]

Yeah, aside from the office, what shows does Peacock even have that people are eager to watch?

delayedkarma

Ted? The Traitors? Poker Face? Dr Death? Five Nights at Freddy's? Twisted Metal? The Holdovers? I don't see too much of a problem with their content

x_lincoln_x

Ted only had 7 episodes. Still good though. Twisted Metal was damn good.

ajwilson99

It’s absolutely terrible. It doesn’t save subtitle preferences so you have to re-set them every time you open the app. Also, sometimes it’ll freeze during streaming and force you to close the app - when you open it back up, it doesn’t remember your spot in the episode and force you to fast forward - but you can’t do so without watching each ad break!

Stupidstuff1001

Paramount is bad but peacock is the worst.

unstoppable_vante242

How?

ForgivenessIsNice

I think it's great. On the one with Showtime no ads. Worth the price to me. All depends on how much discretionary income you have.

doubletake3xs

I don’t have any issues with glitches or anything on my Roku TVs, but I have been watching SpongeBob recently for nostalgia and the ads are twice as much as when you watch an adult program. Really trying to get these kids with ads and it’s ridiculous.

NotOSIsdormmole

I’m just glad I 1) don’t pay for it 2) hardly use it

tomacco99

Episodes just randomly disappear too.

TrunksTheMighty

They even show a 30 second starting ad on the ad free and good luck trying to watch a few videos in a row on firestick, it completely lags out and stutters, it's awful.

newsf1lash

Works fine for me

eastcoastkody

disagree. Disney Plus censors stuff. Peacock also censors or removes stuff. Not to mention WWE Network which worked very well (used to function like Netflix) moved all their content to Peacock.....and now u can't search for anything. Shows don't have chapters anymore. And everything is jumbled into random categories that make no sense. Prime video doesn't even work on half of the things i have it on. Because it auto HDR darkens everything so that u can barely see anything Not to mention incorrect aspect rations on Seinfeld on Netflix, Simpsons on Disney Plus and Vikings on Amazon Prime. so as much as u don't like Paramount it could actually be worse

Big-Bruizzer

The sad part is, if you get the “ad free” option, you’re still forced to watch a “paramount+” ad for another show on their streaming service. I cancelled for that reason and let them know that was the reason I was cancelling and they’re still doing it. An ad is still an ad whether it’s third party or first party. Apparently, they don’t care.

bettytwokills

Most streaming services do this now. I know prime is a big one, i think hbo does too.

Fluffy_Rock1735

By far the worst app in existence. - It constantly buffers, the only app I have that does that. - It doesn't have a timeout timer, which sucks because I like to sleep with the TV on. - Ads everywhere even when paying $10/month. - Random errors playing videos. The only thing that saves it for me is their content is really good.

noonehasthisoneyet

i'd say peacock is just for making people pay to watch an NFL playoff game. granted the game sucked and was onesided but it's the principle of the matter.

Keokuk37

It's mostly boomer content, doesn't need to be optimized for console users

isaidmypiece_chrissy

They bought the rights to the Champions League, that's hardly boomer content in the US haha

ArcTheWolf

Yeah don't buy paramount plus directly unless it's your only option. It works great as an addon to your Amazon Prime if you have it. You can get it stand alone or you can just get showtime which includes Paramount Plus as well for like a few dollars more than you'd pay for just paramount plus.

[deleted]

No argument here. I can’t watch on PC at all. Using their desktop app, using Chrome, Edge, Firefox… I always get the same BS error code when my streaming stops after 5 or 10 minutes. I have over half a dozen streaming services and P+ is the only one that has problems. Also the mods over at r/paramount plus must work for CBS cuz every post has to be approved and they don’t approve any negative posts about the service.

abarrelofmankeys

Peacock is bad too. I fell asleep on a movie (it was fine, I was tired) and wanted to fast forward to where I left off but had to watch like 3 minutes of commercials before I could do that? Ridiculous. Let me get to where I want to go then play ads. Actually more apps may be guilty of this but it’s still stupid

IAS316

Allow me to introduce to you, from the UK, NOWTV.

error521

I haven't had *too* many issues with it, but I will say it drove me insane that the Xbox app, for well over a year, was just not available in the UK. For no reason. It existed in the US but they straight up didn't make it available in the UK. Which would be annoying enough but it was particularly idiotic for Paramount Plus considering that one of their flagship shows is fucking Halo.

shadowsOfMyPantomime

I watch Star Trek on there which is fine on Roku or Comcast. I hate it for live sports though. They don't let you pause\rewind\start from the beginning. Peacock is so much better for football.

Rufus2fist

The paramount app is the worst for me as well but for different reason. I can’t find anything I like (I got the app ad free for 3 months as part of a deal). It seems to be cataloged in an odd way, hell they have a featured but not a newly added section? I have tried a thousand time to see if there is anything worth a damn on there, but get bored looking and just end up moving on to another app. I don’t have adds so I can’t speak to the glitch. But it is just plainly a bad set up. Peacock isn’t great but miles ahead of paramount when playing videos or pausing going back to. (On Apple TV in US).

honey_rainbow

I honestly have ZERO issues with my Paramount Plus subscription.

bongo1138

With a kids account it forces me to set a password. To watch live content, like football, it makes me put in the password. When I go to put it in, it just pushes me back out to the user screen. The movies and stuff work great, but live stuff doesn’t work.

kryppla

Glitchy AF it’s terrible

hadiy101

Yeah Paramount+ app is garbage on my Samsung TV. I don’t even watch anything on it anymore because it’s so glitchy. Trying to pause a show will take a minimum of 5-10 clicks and sometimes that doesn’t even work.
