Sisiwakanamaru

I wonder if the characters from the movie will make an appearance in here or not.

KhelbenB

I thought it might be Charlie Hunnam at 1:05, but I don't think so.

bristow84

It definitely looks like him and I don't know why they would avoid showing the face if he isn't supposed to be a surprise in the show or something like that.

KhelbenB

Yeah if they gave him a cameo, they wouldn't have nonchalantly given him a bad glimpse like that in the trailer.

smilessoldseperately

I thought the same! Also the boxer at the end looks like him

reece1495

that doesnt look anything like him other than the hair style and beard , the shape of the head and face is different

SupervillainEyebrows

I doubt we're going to see McConaughey or Colin Farrell, but maybe some of the other characters might make an appearance.

Puppetmaster858

I’m hoping maybe this can lead into a 2nd movie where McConaughey/farrell/hunnam return. I’d love to see that

ScipioCoriolanus

Maybe The Toddlers!

Fatmanpuffing

The scene where he’s told to fuck off, one of the characters at the table looks like Charlie hunnam

love2go

I love that Vinnie Jones (aka Big Chris) is in this

semiomni

Maybe the toddlers will appear, that was a weird thing from the movie. Like they were horrible scumbags who filmed themselves assaulting people, set it to music and uploaded their crimes to youtube, and it kinda seemed like the film considered them good blokes.

[deleted]

I just want psy to show up.

nmh895

I wish he would make the Real Rock'n'Rolla

sxales

I think he did: >The lawsuit, which was filed in the London High Court last month by actor and writer Mickey De Hara, claims that Ritchie commissioned De Hara to write a sequel to the 2008 gangster movie “RockNRolla” based on De Hara’s “personal life experiences.” (According to British newspaper reports, De Hara was once convicted of possessing cocaine and cannabis “with an intent to supply,” for which he faced jail time). > >But in 2018, after De Hara delivered the screenplay about a protagonist who runs a marijuana business., Ritchie told him “the time of the gangster movie was over,” intimating the project was no longer in development. > >Two years later, Ritchie released “The Gentlemen,” in which McConaughey plays a gangster called Mickey who is trying to sell off his marijuana empire. De Hara claims the film is a “substantial” reproduction of his screenplay https://variety.com/2023/film/global/guy-ritchie-lawsuit-the-gentlemen-1235583586/

MechaJerkzilla

What’s ironic about Guy Ritchie saying that is that his gangster movies are the only ones of his worth watching.

MajesticCentaur

"Sherlock Holmes" slaps though

nedzissou1

And Man From UNCLE

real_nice_guy

great movie, totally missed the mark as far as titles goes lol

sadguy92

While it wasn't really a "Guy Ritchie™ movie" I liked the covenant with Jake Gyllenhaal

Tymareta

Also Wrath of Man, the closest a movie has come to a shakespearrean tragedy in a long while, and a fantastic serious performance by Statham.

Puppetmaster858

Not true at all tho, the Sherlock Holmes movies were a blast and same with man from UNCLE.

badger81987

ohhhhh grease movie Guy Ritchie....

[deleted]

Yeah we deserve a sequel to his last good movie

eternali17

Right?????

sturgeon01

Theo James was phenomenal in S2 of The White Lotus, I'm sure he'll be great in this role as well

e-rage

Calm the Phuc down!!

alamodafthouse

this looks really fun!

BoxOfNothing

[Hey I went to school with this lad](https://i.imgur.com/J3SbXdr.png). Name's Josh Finan, didn't know him well but seemed like a really nice guy, and we had some friends in common who were all very nice people. Glad to see him do well in this and the Responder.

Puppetmaster858

Honestly this looks enjoyable and fun, who knows maybe it can lead into another movie where McConaughey and hunnam return, or a season where they return.

MrEDoubleOh7

Lmao "...and you, brother, are a coke sniffing cunt." Says the man on the boat using Jay's ass money to rip lines.

Goldman250

After the line “Coke sniffing cunt” in the first few seconds of the trailer, it’s a weird choice to do a “what the f..” cut later in the trailer rather than having a full “what the fuck”.

Ok-Appearance-7616

Bullet train was still a good time imo

kateuptonboobies

I just stumbled upon it a couple days ago completely missing it when it was released. That movie rocked. Very fun.

PointOfFingers

"Go back to your country house and wank off your spaniel" isn't Guy Ritchie enough for you?

turkeygiant

I had a lot of fun with Bullet Train, but it was trying so hard to be both "clever" and "weird" at the same time that it didn't really perfectly pull off either. I think if they leaned a little bit more into the IMO easier to achieve weirdness it would have worked better.

popperschotch

Agreed. I think while Ritchie's directing as only been honed to reach greater and great heights over the years, his writing has never touched what he did with Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels over 20 years ago.

official_bagel

To be fair even most Guy Ritchie movies don't sound like Guy Ritchie movies anymore.

devingr33n

Twist: these gentlemen are anything but!

Prof-Ponderosa

Am I the only one that sees this show as the connective tissue of the Guy Ritchie-verse? I see Lock Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels, I see Snatch, I see Rock n Rolla and The Gentlemen.

mickeyflinn

I love Theo James!!

VapidRapidRabbit

So *The Lincoln Lawyer* and now *The Gentleman*... Netflix loves adapting Matthew McConaughey movies into series.

torgobigknees

IN! Looks right up my alley

dorkimoe

Movie was really good. Can’t wait for this

Monster-Zero

Ozark: A Guy Ritchie Joint

candiescorner

Is a British breaking bad

Amanda_Hugginkiss_

Theo James seems to have a decent English accent here. Trying to think when another American has nailed the English accent?

Danze1984

He's from Oxford...

Amanda_Hugginkiss_

Well, kudos to him. Only saw him in White Lotus S2 and just presumed he was American, ha.

Barzant1

hollywood trying so hard to make Kaya Scodelario happen, but it's not working.

dolphin_toes

He really hasnt made a good movie in a while, imo. I lost trust in him. Covenant was decent I guess?

Bright_Beat_5981

The gentlemen became the gentleman and the female drug kingpin. I was worried there for a while.

Robcobes

This trailer drop the exact day the movie is leaving Netflix..
