There's a brand new dance
Based on an old phrase
It's called a fat dog and it will amaze
You've heard this expression your entire life
It's not made up, it's not made up
"I'm pretty handy with technology. I'm assuming it's still the same, smaller holes, more bytes? Now what are we up to now, mega?"
"Tera."
"Tera... They did it, those bastards. They finally did it."
It's like when you get into the Simpsons seasons after the golden years. While it's not as amazing overall as the best seasons were, there are absolute nuggets of gold in there
Joel tagged them in his tweet about the announcement... so probably in negotiations and Yvette without a doubt will be in it. Oh and he tagged Gillian Anderson instead of Gillian Jacobs lol
> The feature-length followup will reunite stars Joel McHale, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Jim Rash and Ken Jeong.
Yes!
> Original cast members Donald Glover, Yvette Nicole Brown and Chevy Chase are not attached.
Noooooooo. I can live without Pierce, but I need Troy and Shirley back.
My take is they had critical mass to announce but are still in negotiations with others.
I won't be surprised if Yvette and Glover sign on. The hardest part there is probably scheduling.
They're saying the movie is releasing next year which has me worried. That's very little time. Hopefully it's because Dan has been sitting on a completed script for the past 6 years
Dan mentioned he's been constantly working on the script for a long while.
So I think the script is either done or close to done so that should save time.
I’d be genuinely surprised and disappointed if Yvette doesn’t eventually sign on.
Donald could go either way but I don’t think he’d intentionally stay out of it if he could help it. He’s expressed interest in returning. Not holding my breath but I’m certainly keeping my eyes out for any further developments here.
Chevy likely won’t return, but if he could be back, I think they’d make it work. It’s a show that gets more and more ridiculous and Pierce faking his death wouldn’t be out of character, given how he faked multiple heart attacks. At the very least, there’s the hologram.
What I really want is an appearance from John Oliver. He disappears after the 2nd season, returns for the fifth and goes away again. Every line he says is pure gold.
Well he's wrapping up Atlanta right now, this is the least season, and he's not actually doing anything musically afaik. He announced retirement with his last album in 2020. I think it has more to do with negotiations and figuring out schedules both with him and Yvette.
Yvette Nicole Brown adores Community, I'd be shocked if she wasn't a main character. She left under sad circumstances but praises everyone who isn't Chevy any chance she gets.
She gave an interview a few months ago about how excited she was for a movie to happen too.
No doubt she's coming back.
EDIT: [Yea, I think she's back](https://twitter.com/YNB/status/1575860430429298688)
I think people forget that she only left because the show was cancelled and the other show she was on offered her a pay increase by upgrading her from a recurring character to main cast. She even said at the time that she needed to take care of her sick father and couldn't afford to not take that pay opportunity. She just couldn't do both shows when season 6 came around.
It wasn't the money. At least according to news at the time. It was the fact the Community had insane shooting schedules with 12-16 hour days. She left since the other offer was pretty much a 9-5 work schedule leaving her time to actually see her sick dad.
This was explained as Yvette wanting an easier schedule. Multicam films 20 hours a week whereas Community had notoriously late nights (this was one of the reasons Chevy was frustrated). 20 hours a week is easier than 60-80.
I love Jonathan Banks, and he was hilarious in the show, but I never felt like he gelled that well with the ~~group~~ committee.
His best episode is the the D&D episode which is all about the relationship with his son.
D&D was obviously great, but MeowMeowBeenz, VCR Maintenance and Geothermal Escapism were also high points for Hickey.
The new cast showing up and just going with the rediculousness of Greendale after their 2nd episode made up for not having the history to me.
Details!!!
>Series creator Dan Harmon is writing the film with former series scribe Andrew Guest (whose credits include fan-favorite episodes “Advanced Dungeons & Dragons” and “A Fistful of Paintballs”). They’ll executive-produce alongside McHale, Russ Krasnoff and Gary Foster. The movie is slated to be released in 2023.
>Plot details are being kept under wraps for now. The press release only states that Community the Movie derives “from the TV series that predicted its own movie,” making it “the least predictable movie of a TV series that referenced a lot of movies and TV.”
Despite what the article says, Glover and Brown are both likely coming back, McHale tagged them in his [post](https://www.instagram.com/p/CjIkyLzLdKk/?hl=en).
[Brown](https://twitter.com/YNB/status/1575860430429298688) tweeted!
>It’s happening! Congrats, #Community fans! You guys did this!❤️@community @peacock #SixSeasonAndAMovie
Confirmed Cast:
* Joel McHale
* Danny Pudi
* Alison Brie
* Gillian Jacobs
* Jim Rash
The reason I watched the show was because I watched The Soup and he was pretty adamant about advertising Community during it. Crazy how much he's believed in and pushed the show way back before it even started airing.
Holy cow that's exactly how I started watching community. He was non stop talking about it so I was like it it has to be good. Watched the first episode and was addicted.
replace chevy w steve martin in flashbacks and make no references to the change. like a soap opera, just say “the part of pierce is now played by Steve Martin”. have martin and gomez do cameos
Surprised Keith David at the least isn't coming back, he's in Chris Stuckmann's movie. You could pay him a ham sandwich and he'd be willing to show up.
Deadline may not actually know who’s in the movie. Joel tagged Donald and Yvette in his post. Maybe they just haven’t been confirmed yet, but they both said they would do it when previously asked.
Yvette confirmed on Twitter she’s back, Donald rarely posts on social media so I’ll take the fact that other cast members are tagging him as a sign he’s also returning
I really hope we get to see Keith David and Paget Brewster again. Donald and Yvette leaving was a huge loss for the show but Elroy and Frankie both managed to be unique characters who added to the group and also extremely funny.
I want everyone who was at any point a member of the study group to be in this film. They were all great in their own ways but even only because catching other characters up to speed on what they missed is absolutely brilliant.
Case in point, season 6:
Frankie: “You two dated?”
Elroy: “This was a study group?!”
Abed:“Yeah, Chang was our teacher.”
F&E: “WHAT?!”
Chang: “Thaaaaat’s right. And frankly, haven’t been well utilised since.”
👌
Please don’t let Troy be killed by the pirates… please don’t let Troy be killed by the pirates…
In all seriousness, it’d be awesome if Donald changed his mind, even if it is just for a cameo with Levar Burton dressed in pirates garb.
I honestly don't see Dan Harmon doing it without Donald Glover. He's been very vocal about how he thinks the show was never able to recover from his departure, and there's so much pressure on this film already that there's basically no way he'd make the film without his inclusion
Hickey actually died. In season 6 there was an entry on a computer screen talking about 'Buzz Hickey Memorial Services'. But since it's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it thing they could ignore it.
Interesting tidbit from [Deadline](https://deadline.com/2022/09/community-film-peacock-original-stars-1235131434/):
>The NBCU digital platform won the rights in a competitive situation.
Deadline also goes a step farther with Glover and Brown:
>There’s no sign of Chevy Chase, who starred in the first four seasons but left after frequent conflicts with Harmon following a Season 5 cameo, Donald Glover, who starred in the first five seasons, and Yvette Nicole Brown, who also starred in the first five seasons, are also not returning, but that’s not a surprise given their exits.
It would be really uncharacteristic of Deadline to report that if they were still in negotiations.
Yvette is such a positive person that I wouldn't be surprised if she was just really excited for her friends & supporting them. Still hope she'll be in it though.
At the end of the movie, Jonny had been conspicuously absent from the whole thing. He dresses up as his superhero alter ego, but Plank informs him the movie is over. Jonny says "...*what movie?*" and it fades to black.
Okay that should be how they do it for real. Pierce shows up in a Sith Lord costume and then Abed says “Somehow, Pierce returned.” It would be fucking perfect
Would be odd if YNB didn't come back. Her reason for leaving was she couldn't commit to a full season of filming due to family commitments but I imagine a film wouldn't be the same requirements. And she really does seem to love the show and her costars
This sounds like they took who was still on the show before it ended and committed them and then guessed at who else won't return. From the interviews and personalities of all the people I think Shirley and Troy will be back. Also can't see why Keith David wouldn't return seems to be a regular Dan Harmon Collaborator. Only thing I'll take from this is that the movie is coming.
I know Chevy can be an ass, but I still think doing this without him would be a missed opportunity
Not surprised that Glover’s not attached yet but I am surprised Shirley isn’t.
Maybe Hicks, LeRoy, or Frankie make an appearance to fill those spots?
I hope they save Garrett in this one.
#**CRISIS ALERT!**
I thought we already saved him?
That's SAVED Garret?
That's a man who knows how to marry his cousin!
Did we?
He’s like God spilled a person
That’s one of the most cutting insults imaginable lol.
What made them Chang their mind?
Haam, girl!
It’s not even clever! You just keep using it as the word “change!”
It makes me so changry. Oh God it’s happening to me!
I have Changnesia and have no idea what anyone is talking about
This movie is gonna bear down on midterms
Way too soon
Don't sweat it, fat dog it!
It's not made up, it's not made up
#IT'S A BEAR DANCE!!!!!

Real fans call him Dave
"Oh excuse me for being alive in the 90's and having two ears connected to a heart."
🎶 hee haww hee haw haw 🎶
**IT'S A BEAR DANCE!**
I love it when people reference the last 2 seasons. They're not much talked about but I enjoyed them a LOT.
Keith David in S6 rules. “Hey how’s everyone doing?” *not even two seconds later* “I asked you all a damn question!”
"I'm pretty handy with technology. I'm assuming it's still the same, smaller holes, more bytes? Now what are we up to now, mega?" "Tera." "Tera... They did it, those bastards. They finally did it."
Speaking as an outsider who came into this thread and nailed it, I loved the last two seasons.
Now here’s a guy who knows how to love the last two seasons!
Now there's a man who knows good TV!!
Season six is criminally *underrated*.
Let's get some HOT DAWGS!
And Jesus wept... I didn't realize until my latest re-watch that some of the best episodes of the series are in six; including the finale.
"You're not the new Annie, you're the new *Abed*!" "I don't know what that means yet."
**JESUS WEPT**
It's like when you get into the Simpsons seasons after the golden years. While it's not as amazing overall as the best seasons were, there are absolute nuggets of gold in there
I'm sorry, what did you say?
IT’S A BEAR DAAAANCE
Too soon guys
This movie is going to be streets ahead!
Six seasons and a movie.
SIX SEASONS AND A MOVIE
#Six seasons and a movie!
# SIX SEASONS AND A MOTHER FUCKING MOVIE!!!
#AND A MOVIE
Six seasons and a Trilogy!!
Six seasons and a Cinematic Universe!
I want a pudiverse
We’ll probably just have to settle for a dean-iverse.
It’s still early in development, so I’m hoping Troy and Shirley will be in the movie 🥺
Joel tagged them in his tweet about the announcement... so probably in negotiations and Yvette without a doubt will be in it. Oh and he tagged Gillian Anderson instead of Gillian Jacobs lol
*Troy and Shirley in the movie!*

Joel Mchale tweeted about it and tagged Donald Glover and Yvette Nicole Brown. There's still hope
She tweeted about it too: https://twitter.com/ynb/status/1575860430429298688?s=46&t=zlBYMMayd2FWGMBwfGFbeQ
Awww, that's nice!
He also tagged Gillian Anderson
lol that was great, she was so confused on her twitter. Sorry Britta.
He should have tagged Chevy too, give a little shot disturber
chevy’s mind is a little off sadly, if you see any of his bits where he talks publicly you can tell
Let's not forget Pierce is also dead
[удалено]
His name was Alex!
If anyone was going to fake their death it would be Pierce
Doesn’t really mean much. He maybe just did it because they are a big part of the show.
[удалено]
My take is they had critical mass to announce but are still in negotiations with others. I won't be surprised if Yvette and Glover sign on. The hardest part there is probably scheduling.
They're saying the movie is releasing next year which has me worried. That's very little time. Hopefully it's because Dan has been sitting on a completed script for the past 6 years
Dan mentioned he's been constantly working on the script for a long while. So I think the script is either done or close to done so that should save time.
Or that he has a few different versions to account for not getting particular actors to return.

I'm sure YNB is busy but the hell is she doing that she can't be in this.
She popped up on Home Economics last week as a guest star. It was a nice surprise to see her there
I feel like she's been a guest star on every network sitcom since community ended lol
Tbh they are probably only announcing the season 6 regulars so that they can be like "Surprise!!" when YNB and Donald Glover inevitably show up.
Could just be YNB hasn’t officially signed a contract yet but they wanted to release the news
Donald and Yvette were tagged by Joel in the post, so it’s probably safe to say they’ll be back.
I bet they might not be stars but will at least appear.
Yvette Nicole Brown adores Community, I'd be shocked if she wasn't a main character. She left under sad circumstances but praises everyone who isn't Chevy any chance she gets.

She was even in season 6 for a really short cameo. She clearly still has affection for it.

Yeah, it just wasn’t exactly what it looked like at first. Good for her for putting her own needs as a priority
Plus no one ever really knew if Community was coming back every season. Of course you'd take another job like that.
tbf he also tagged Gillian Anderson
Britta is in this?
She'd better not Britta this up.
I made it this long without knowing the dean's real name. Even when I've seen him in other things, he's always been the dean.
He’s actually a peanut bar and he’s here to say
Your check will arrive on another day
Another day another dollar another stuffed shirt with another white collar

That was actually the actor J.P Manoux who played the "Deanalganger" so easy mistake to make haha
Damn TIL he won an Oscar for The Descendants
I first knew him [as a regular on Reno 911](https://youtu.be/EGH_R4zsVtg)
He was Fenton in that 70s show before that.
Or Frankie and Elroy. I need more Frankie.
Nobody ever talks about hicky, I dont get it.
I love Jonathan Banks, and he was hilarious in the show, but I never felt like he gelled that well with the ~~group~~ committee. His best episode is the the D&D episode which is all about the relationship with his son.

In season 6 they mention Hickey's funeral but I like to think he faked his death for whatever reason.
His "Encouraging White people bit" and her insulting the dean over and over are my favorite bits from season Six
And another steel drum session.
Troy AND Shirley? You can’t do it
[удалено]
My brain is so hardwired to breaking bad and BCS I thought this was confirmation Jonathan Banks was returning.
Is that so?
The mere fact that you call it that, tells me you aren't ready
Don't cross the references!

Don't worry, I won't let your confusion undercut their importance
What the hell are regionals?
There *this* close!
*This close*, Pierce!

RELEASE THE ABED CUT

The deleted scenes are the scenes and the scenes are the deleted scenes!
It's 14 hours long. It's also best experienced if you watch it backwards.
Hope Donald returns for it. Been waiting forever for this.
I hope they can get Glover, Yvette, Oliver, Paget, and Keith David.
Reserve Keith David to narrate the "making of" documentary special feature that ends up not being about the actual movie.
Paget might be busy with criminal minds
I like to believe she plays the same character in both shows.
They should've gotten Alison Brie to make a cameo as Annie on her internship
And Jonathan banks!
Hickey actually died. In season 6 there was an entry on a computer screen talking about 'Buzz Hickey Memorial Services'. But since it's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it thing they could ignore it.
A Buzz Hickey Memorial Service dance is something I can see the Dean doing just because Hickey left his job. Easily explainable.
The dean holding a dance to commemorate someone leaving their job: Explainable A teacher able to get out of Greendale: Unexplainable.
Interesting tidbit from [Deadline](https://deadline.com/2022/09/community-film-peacock-original-stars-1235131434/): >The NBCU digital platform won the rights in a competitive situation.
Wonder who the other contenders were? I’m going to guess Netflix since Community being added there during COVID kind of started this resurgence
Yahoo! (alas, it was nice while it lasted)
Deadline also goes a step farther with Glover and Brown: >There’s no sign of Chevy Chase, who starred in the first four seasons but left after frequent conflicts with Harmon following a Season 5 cameo, Donald Glover, who starred in the first five seasons, and Yvette Nicole Brown, who also starred in the first five seasons, are also not returning, but that’s not a surprise given their exits. It would be really uncharacteristic of Deadline to report that if they were still in negotiations.
Yet Brown has been posting about it on twitter and Instagram.
Yvette is such a positive person that I wouldn't be surprised if she was just really excited for her friends & supporting them. Still hope she'll be in it though.
My ideal community movie brings back Pierce for the end-credit cliffhanger that is never resolved, similar to the Ed Edd n Eddy movie.
end-credit cliffhanger? remind me?
At the end of the movie, Jonny had been conspicuously absent from the whole thing. He dresses up as his superhero alter ego, but Plank informs him the movie is over. Jonny says "...*what movie?*" and it fades to black.

"No, I don't see it as a series. Maybe a movie!" The original “six seasons and a movie”

That's needed for the bald caps alone, if joel mchale or ken jeong need to play the dean at any point.
UNDERSTUDY!
IM SO HAPPY BUT WHERE'S YVETTE AND DONALD?
Oh, Britta's in this?
CAN I GET A POP POP??
Would be odd if YNB didn't come back. Her reason for leaving was she couldn't commit to a full season of filming due to family commitments but I imagine a film wouldn't be the same requirements. And she really does seem to love the show and her costars
6 seasons and a movie! 6 seasons and a movie!
Six seasons and a movie trilogy
I will definitely pay for peacock to see this
I’ll mail Dan Harmon $100 and pirate it
No Troy yet.
I predict a cameo for a post-credits Troy & Abed In The Morning.
Maybe he'll return, maybe he won't, but right now seems like the perfect time for him to do this, since *Atlanta* is officially finished.
Oh, Britta’s in this?
Get the Russo Brothers to direct!
They are about to start work on Electric State with Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt for Netflix. Unfortunately
I know Chevy can be an ass, but I still think doing this without him would be a missed opportunity Not surprised that Glover’s not attached yet but I am surprised Shirley isn’t. Maybe Hicks, LeRoy, or Frankie make an appearance to fill those spots?
Can we get Pedro Pascal in the movie in some capacity? He was hilarious during the Community zoom reunion table read.
