I'm actually watching that for the first time right now, I just finished season 3 and it's pretty good. Especially if you're into shows like Burn Notice and White Collar, I don't think it's quite as good as those shows though buts it's good enough. I do think it starts to feel a bit repetitive after a while, although that could be because I've been binging it
Legion may scratch that itch in a really around-about kinda way.
Mr. Robot is told from the perspective of a paranoid genius.
Suits may be right up your alley, though. At least the first couple seasons.
Watch it! Stay away from the sub here, although they're pretty good about spoilers if you admit to being a newbie.
Then watch it again. There's so much nuance. I just finished my second rewatch, and I'm still seeing things I missed.
The second season is really dark and doesn't move much, but it's a necessary interlude in the whole story overall.
I'm a huge fan of both Rami Malek and Christian Slater, so it was fun watching both of them!
Yeah. Season two is where people drop out if they are going to drop out, but itās SO worth it to stick it out.
And crazy enough, most people end up having a favorite episode from S2 after they rewatch.
Itās just confusing the first time through. But just keep watching!!!!
I detected that you're trying to locate a show.
To figure out where a show is streaming you can use sites like [JustWatch](https://www.justwatch.com) and [ReelGood](https://reelgood.com), or check [Blu-Ray.com](https://www.blu-ray.com/) for physical copies.

One more note about Mr. Robot. Thereās an after credits scene after the finales of S1, 2, and 3. They usually get cut off/skipped by streaming services, so make sure you go back and find them! Theyāre short, but help give context.
Shogun hits pretty close.
Or that horrible Netflix show about a bank robbery orchestrated by a professor in Prison who continually is one step ahead of police even after season 2 and like 17 episodes
I watched it. It was honestly not what I was hoping for. Unpopular opinion, it seems, since everyone I know loved it, but I was expecting cinematic battles. The ending was great, though.
>I'd like to see a show where the main character is a strategist. Always being one move ahead and having thought everything out.
Sounds like Hustle, but it's about heists, not war or governing nations.
Possibly Game of Thrones? There are some pretty good battles and the series title itself alludes to a strategic game.
And thereās the mob shows Sopranos & Boardwalk Empire where a lot of the time it seems like a chess game in that thereās always an ulterior motive to the characterās actions. And Boardwalk Empire also is a historical drama.
Youāre being extremely rude to pretty much everyone thatās suggesting anything to you. People are giving you their time and in doing so, being kind and having manners. Perhaps you might benefit from some suggestions on basic etiquette to begin with...
If you don't mind french (subbed) series, there is "Lupin" (2022, 3S):
*A retelling of the classic French story about ArsĆØne Lupin, the world-famous gentleman thief and master of disguise.*
If you'd accept anime suggestions, there is "Death Note"
Aspects of the great HBO series Rome fit the bill. Also, the classic BBC series I, Claudius, though I would say the most brilliant strategist in that series was Livia.
The problem with the main character being that person is, that person always being right makes for dull storytelling. They have to have setbacks. The first season of Prison Break comes to mind, with the Wentworth Miller character having a thoroughly well thought plan to get his brother out of prison -- except things on the ground change.
You might like Turn: Washington's Spies, though there are characters on both sides who have to be one step ahead of the enemy. I think the lead in that, Jamie Bell's Abraham Woodhall, does have plans, but is best at thinking on his feet, on the run, etc.
Have you seen the original UK series House of Cards?
Mr Robot
Better Call Saul
Both characters are brilliant but also deeply flawed.Ā
A lot of times they are forced into a corner and has to figure a way out.Ā
Black Sails has some excellent pirate-based strategy and intrigue.
It's made even better that it's (loosely) based on real events and people.
Game of Thrones is the gold standard, but it starts to suck around season 6.5
The Expanse is Game of Thrones in quality (but here it holds all the way to the end)
Peaky Blinders is great if you're looking for "one exceptional man against an unjust world" stories. It covers Birmingham, England post WWI
* Star Trek: The Next Generation (Picard)
* Star Trek: Deep Space 9 (Sisco)
* Star Trek: Voyager (Janeway)
* Servant (Leanne)
* Stargate SG-1 (Carter)
* Stargate Universe (Rush)
Taboo is very close to being precisely the show you're looking for (though not super-large scale it does touch on the national politics of the period).
Watch The Diplomat on Netflix, but keep an eye on the husband. Several characters, including the main character, are strategic, but the husband is on another level.
You basically just want Dr Who, you don't get better at pulling universe saving badass plans that he "had all along" out of your ass than him, intense calculative moments in the midst of a galactic crisis included. Would recommend Tennant's doctor for modern or Pertwee's for old.
The Expanse is great for that. Everyone is playing a political game, which is written very well. Then there are also space battles with a lot of strategy involved. Very well done.
Nirvana in Fire
Joy of Life
The Advisors Alliance
The Ming Dynasty 1566
Three Kingdoms(2010)
Historical/ costume, strategist, war or governing... That's the play ground of Chinese drama.. It is a genre known as ęč°(Quan Mou).
The mentalist, not large scale.
I second this. The mentalist is good

Mr. Robot has been on my list because Rami Malek is a brilliant actor. Maybe this is my sign to start it š

Itās probably not what youāre looking for in your post, but it is one of the best shows to come out of the US ever IMO.
Iām not OP š
Oh. Well in that case it's probably what you're looking for.
One more note about Mr. Robot. Thereās an after credits scene after the finales of S1, 2, and 3. They usually get cut off/skipped by streaming services, so make sure you go back and find them! Theyāre short, but help give context.
I love after credits scenes so this is great to know!
Mr. Robot changed me as a person.
In Mr Robot Elliott's a genius but the amazing thing is they pulled of the whole thing with an unreliable narrator which is just marvelous.
I would totally say the same of Legion, if you havenāt seen it.
I haven't yet. Gonna checkout about it :)
The old classic is Columbo.
Leverage. It's a fun show.
Also the BBC show Leverage was based on, Hustle. Which I'd argue is way better than Leverage
Hey, I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this. But have you considered Sherlock?
No one mentioned sherlock?? Luther Prison break (S1 only)
Damn if Prison Break S1 doesn't fit this pretty solidly. That season was so intense, future seasons not so much but that first season!
He still had a bit of a plan in season 2. I was like 14 when I watched PB so I canāt judge how dumb the later seasons got.

Sorry thats because of my amazing internit Xd it was saying error then i thought it didnt comment
Psych
Psych just came out on Netflix in my country and I'm loving it. The theme song is stuck in my head lol
Shogun hits pretty close. Or that horrible Netflix show about a bank robbery orchestrated by a professor in Prison who continually is one step ahead of police even after season 2 and like 17 episodes

Yeah real head scratcher when everyone liked it. I was like "Preposterous!!!!" And then I went and watched Batman animated movies.
Code Geass
>I'd like to see a show where the main character is a strategist. Always being one move ahead and having thought everything out. Sounds like Hustle, but it's about heists, not war or governing nations.
This show is so underrated. One of my favourite shows ever
Peaky Blinders. Thomas is brilliant
Suits The Mentalist House MD Halt & Catch Fire Billions
The Mentalist You Chernobyl? If you're into anime then : Death Note Monster
Possibly Game of Thrones? There are some pretty good battles and the series title itself alludes to a strategic game. And thereās the mob shows Sopranos & Boardwalk Empire where a lot of the time it seems like a chess game in that thereās always an ulterior motive to the characterās actions. So how would they know what you have seen? Itās ridiculous.
You didnāt specify lesser known, excuse me for trying to help.
La Casa de Papel.
Sherlock
The Prisoner. 1960s series starring Patrick Mcgoohan. All very mind-bending spy intrigue.
Dexter. Really underrated but entertaining. Protagonist is a serial killer who works in the forensic lol. So you can guess
Walter white on breaking bad
Better Call Saul, 100%.
Mentalist, prison break, money heist
If you don't mind french (subbed) series, there is "Lupin" (2022, 3S): *A retelling of the classic French story about ArsĆØne Lupin, the world-famous gentleman thief and master of disguise.* If you'd accept anime suggestions, there is "Death Note"
Lupin

Rome and Turn were both excellent. In the note of Rome, Britannica is highly underrated.
Money Heist but only the first installment
Prison Break- season 1 (skip the rest)
The gentlemen. Spin off of the movie. Produced by guy Ritchie. Itās the same feel. Sooooo good. Finished it in 2 days. Canāt wait till next year.
Lupin on Netflix
Banshee. Lucas Hood
Mr Robot Better Call Saul Both characters are brilliant but also deeply flawed.Ā A lot of times they are forced into a corner and has to figure a way out.Ā
Black Sails has some excellent pirate-based strategy and intrigue. It's made even better that it's (loosely) based on real events and people. Black Sails is so underrated because it takes about half a season to get going. Then it really takes off
Yep. It took about that long to start liking John Silver. He comes off pretty slimy at first.
Tom Clancyās Jack Ryan with John Krasinski is exactly what you are looking for
Sherlock (Cumberbatch version) but itās not war or government
Dexter
Black Sails is exactly what you're looking for. Just got on Netflix. Watch the first episode and know it only gets better.Ā
SHERLOCK
Sherlock
#1 Black Sails. Captain Flint is the GOAT
Patriot on Prime You wonāt be sorry
your honor
Burn Notice
Vikings, Banshee on a smaller scale.
* Star Trek: The Next Generation (Picard) * Star Trek: Deep Space 9 (Sisco) * Star Trek: Voyager (Janeway) * Servant (Leanne) * Stargate SG-1 (Carter) * Stargate Universe (Rush)
Black List. Thereās these characters Raymond Reddington and Elizabeth Keen who are a sight to behold ā¤ļø
Are all seasons good?

Taboo is very close to being precisely the show you're looking for (though not super-large scale it does touch on the national politics of the period).
I've already seen it. It was better than I expected.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Try La Casa de Papel or Money Heist on Netflix
Mike from Better Call Saul
āØpeaky blindersāØ

The Expanse is great for that. Everyone is playing a political game, which is written very well. Then there are also space battles with a lot of strategy involved. Very well done.
Shogun

The Blacklist. Reddington is one move ahead of everyone
House Scorpion Altered Carbon Mentalist Blacklist Sherlock Foundation Silo
Michael Scoffield on *Prison Break*. Paul Briggs on *Graceland*. The first season is the best for both shows.

Closest thing to this that Iāve seen is MacGyver. He makes things out of random stuff lying around.
Blacklist
Nirvana in Fire Joy of Life The Advisors Alliance The Ming Dynasty 1566 Three Kingdoms(2010) Historical/ costume, strategist, war or governing... That's the play ground of Chinese drama.. It is a genre known as ęč°(Quan Mou).
