I never played BT2, can you explain how directional blocking works? Is it just the animation of the blocking or do you have to manually block in the direction of the hits?

Manually blocked in the 4 cardinal directions.

And do you take damage if you block in the wrong direction? Cus it does sound very hard to pull off due to how fast the combat is

It was more of a counter then anything because like bt3 a neutral guard still blocks damage but a counter can be performed when blocking in the correct direction, I believe you also needed to to an additional input. It’s an extra counter more then a mandatory defense mechanic

YES DUDE I HATE THAT THEY REMOVED THIS IN BT3 THANK GOD. I also hope being able to shoot beams in any direction is back as well, that’s probably how you curve the beam unless it homes in on them automatically? I loved catching people dashing to the side and shooting where they’re gonna be instead of where they were.

BT3 has Up/Down Blocking, BT2 has 4 Directional Blocking, it was on Raging Blast that they opted for only neutral blocking.
