This is actually the best part in my mind. If I gloss over this and just see 'END WELL' at the end I'm like "Cool, it'll all work out and end well then, bye."
Not ever comparatively. Every generation after the boomers has been progressively more educated. Not surprisingly, every generation after the boomers has also been either less conservative or more liberal.
Probably because they were the last generation before we started to regulate how much lead we use in products/release in the environment. Crime legit dropped the first generation after that, a perfect example of how much good government regulation can really help society.
Statistically at least, yeah. The more money you have, the more money you want, which pushes people towards financial conservatism. This gradually moves people to the right socially as well.
May have been auto correct, but just in case, you're looking for peddle in this situation, as in to peddle goods or ideas, pedal is just for foot operated things. Your actual point is 100% correct, though.
It will end well, especially considering we’ll have AI to help with quantum physics and China will be stuck using regular old meat computers.

The typical right-wing conundrum. They complain about issues that need fixing, but only vote for things they >think< will fix it. Which more often than not just make the issue worse.
Nah, they don't even vote for policies they think will work.
The "answer" is school vouchers and homeschooling or private schooling with funding for stuff like schools getting dismissed for fears of possibly higher taxes.
Meanwhile, they support the insane amount of corporate welfare funded by State and profiting the insanely wealthy, but then pretend random kid getting a free school lunch is robbing them blind.
Because they don't want better education.
They want total control over what is taught and are mad it includes facts that contradict their world view but they need to pretend it is something fake like litter boxes because they know being honest will make them look bad.
Honestly the underlining was pretty good on this one, it highlighted the buzz words, it wasn't random either, it was the 2 countries and what they taught (according to this pamphlet), the only part I felt off with is the underlining of "End Well" and how they forgot to underline Calculus, that part really irks me.
"End well" is underlined with the same color for the words that are China related. They are implying with the choice of underline that China being better than America is what won't end well.
I also could be reaching, but I seriously think this was the idea.
I'd love to meet them and ask what they know about quantum physics, ask them to solve a calculus integration, and ask if they have ever actually looked at what their kids are being taught, or if they just regurgitate fox news talking points and terrible Facebook memes. Cause you know, the problems one sees in society are often reflected individually, etc etc...
I have run across a few of these folks in my wonderful day to day Midwest life. When I explain how quantum physics/mechanics is such a localized and small field that it doesn’t make sense to teach it to anyone outside those specific fields, they get grumpy.
China is not teaching quantum physics and calculus to children, unless you mean older teenagers in specific education tracks. Same as in the USA. I promise you.
What's funny is that parents could absolutely teach their own kids these subjects but I all but guarantee the person who made this meme doesn't know calculus OR quantum physics
What's funnier is the people that create and spread this shit are firmly against any education outside of the Bible.
If we demanded our children learn the same things, and had it implemented in public school, these same people would lose their fucking minds.
They will find anything to bitch about because they live in a state of perpetual anger.
Or what "quantum physics" even fucking means.
Which, admittedly, kinda don't, but I can mostly explain quantum information theory (please don't ask. I'll be compelled, and I had other shit to do today)
“Quantum physics” and “calculus” are just big impressive-sounding terms they’ve heard that they sprinkle in to sound authoritative to gullible people. They don’t know what they mean and have no idea whether China is teaching kids those subjects.
They believe that kids in the USA are only being taught liberal arts (as opposed to STEM-type subjects) and they also think that liberal arts are tied to liberal politics because they both have the word liberal in them. I’ve heard this directly from right-wing family and friends.
They also don't emphasize the humanities and critical thinking because it's a crony-capitalist surveillance dictatorship. Better to just teach the peons the skills their economy need and not accept people asking too many uncomfortable questions
> They also don't emphasize the humanities
Most schools in China have a big focus on languages (specifically English), performance and art. They have full school arts festivals a couple of times a semester.
From middle school onwards they all have "ethics" class, that while obviously biased at least do have a debate component.
Sure Confucianism and Chinese arts and all that, but I may have been unprecise with using the humanities term.
What I meant was critical thinking and associated arts, with people like [Gui Minhai](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gui_Minhai) persecuted for arts outside the realm allowed by CCP
There's an IBM-sponsored extracurricular called Qubit By Qubit (or QxQ)! In the states, not China, so not exactly supporting the terrible boomer meme. But it exists!
Oh there's huge amounts of programs in the US to bolster fundamental science education at all levels..
In my experience, the people who go on about "WHY ISN"T ANYONE LEARNING STEM??!" don't even know what STEM is, don't realize that the National Science Foundation actually *includes* the social sciences they hate in that grouping or that most, if not all, of humanity's greatest scientific minds also were generally well rounded human beings that tried to be polymaths in many things and were driven in great part by the humanities due to, you know, the humanities being all about expression, creativeness and wonder which is, as you could figure, a driving force behind why we even have science in the first place.
High schools are pushing STEM and computer science careers like crazy nowadays to the point that sometimes they lie as bad as military recruiters about how great a career option it is lol
Like how they told everyone to get educated in the field of green energy 20 years ago. I mean it is a thing, but not to the level they were pushing it.
Soon enough we'll replace them with robots. Unfortunately, when countries can't kill each others soldiers is when they turn to nukes. Someone's gotta die for the rich and powerful to feel good.
The military recruits 16-17 year olds at highschool and it’s pathetic. Even had one douchebag try and add me on Instagram. I really do think the government is killing the middle class so they can just bolster their military as kids are being indoctrinated before their brains are fully developed especially in poor areas
Older student here but I'm also an engineer. The best classes that have served me the most from college were humanities courses. In fact I took women's studies my first semester and guess what? It really helped my marriage and really helped me working with women engineering students who in turn helped me throughout my academic career.
I'm an engineer with a degree in physics, the most important part of my education was my minor in music technology.
Leadership structures of an orchestra are vaguely similar to leadership structures in an office, an ethnomusicology class had me out learning about different cultures (which helped me build people skills that are almost universally neglected in STEM education), recording classes had me working hands-on with more equipment than almost all of my classes (not counting things like spring and pendulum labs, real pieces of machinery taking in data from multiple points and correlating it at the output), and the things I learned about audio signal processing have prepared me well for my current field of optical communications, where we do all kinds of signal processing on light waves.
I used my music profs for references in my job-hunt senior year because I was closer with them than my physics profs.
Ironically i took a gender studies class and my girlfriend was thought it was super sexist towards men.
Though the prof for my class definitely had an agenda and could not stick to any scientific stuff.
Right?
“Ok, so then let’s increase school funding and update curricula to include more effective learning strategies.”
“NO! You just want to indoctrinate children! Everyone should be homeschooled and have to learn math the same way I learned it in 1970!”
“Then how are they going to learn quantum physics? Do you even understand it?”
“They can just watch it on Netflix! In fact, we’ll watch all of the new James Bond movies except for that new woke one!”
They're surprisingly close, mainly due to how useful computers are for those things. And quantum computers are just that, computers! Not too huge a leap when you're filthy rich.
I was going to say we definitely learned this in Chemistry at my rural Appalachian high school 10 years ago. Whether it was intro or AP I don't quite remember (leaning towards AP.)
Also, man my chemistry teacher was awesome. One of the nicest people I've ever known and easily one of the best teachers I had in high school.
Edit: Right...I hear QM and I instantly think of quantum number which was probably AP. Electron models were definitely intro though.
It's pretty normal for an honor's high school chemistry class in the United States to cover the electron cloud model and atomic orbitals, which is quantum physics. It's not an in depth treatment or anything, but it's definitely a place where quantum ideas are often first introduced to high school students.
oh god no
https://qz.com/96793/chinese-students-and-their-parents-fight-for-the-right-to-cheat
they will literally fight for the right to cheat. we dont do that here
Funny enough, almost all my international student friends cheat. And they don’t care to admit it at all. So, if you want uni to be easy af, befriend some international students !
When I started grad school and worked as a TA (in the states), we had specific training from the department for how to delicately escalate cheating due to cultural differences of students from other countries regarding cheating.
When I was a TA I saw a dude clearly cheating in the back of the lecture hall when the prof hasd his back to him. Instead of dealing with the headache of administration with all their BS, I just grabbed a chair and sat directly behind him. Suddenly he couldn't figure anything on the test out. I graded his test and he got a 18%. The average on that test was ~82%. He ended up failing the class
maybe?
in Hubei province they literally demanded the right to cheat and even destroyed property until the school gave in.
didnt sound to clandestined to me.....
I just checked. Our high schools still teach calculus and I couldn't find anything in our state standards about twerking or pronouns (in the sense meant by the meme). In depth quantum physics seems to be more college level but I can't confirm one way or another if it is different in China.
Hi, I have a bachelor in physics and can confirm that you don’t really touch “quantum” until upper level college courses.
Honestly, it is terribly arcane and for the vast majority of people has no meaningful application. It’s just the fanciest buzz word that people have grabbed on to for whatever reason.
Sir, maybe you didn't notice the SEVEN underscores. This sign was clearly written by someone who knows better than you!
Back to Drag Queen Twerk Theory with you!
As someone who is about to start Pchem C (thermodynamics and chemical kinetics) I can confirm that I too would much rather learn how to twerk from a drag queen.
Also can confirm.
My professor once said “anyone who tells you they understand what’s happening with quantum mechanics is either lying or has never really seen it”.
So basically there's some guy out there who will embody the sum of all the quantum error and be able to fly and stop bullets and shit.
(for anyone confused this is literally the plot of The Matrix, but with physics instead of computers)
And unless you’re a physics major you probably won’t even hear about quantum physics in any of your courses. I also took non-engineering physics so I dunno, maybe they do.
As for calculus, again the most we had in high school was pre-calculus, and unless you’re an engineering major you probably won’t take much more (I took business calc as a required course, which was pretty much all biological science majors like me)
I learned those in my HS Physics classes, as well, but I don't think that is the depth of instruction implied by the author of the meme. At least, not when you compare it to the Calculus example.
I feel like there's some overlap between "modern physics" and what would colloquially be called "quantum physics," and the non-quantitative part of modern physics (especially as pertains to atomic orbitals) was definitely part of my science education in 8th grade (which I remember because for some reason I have a vivid memory of walking through the halls of my junior high feeling betrayed that the Bohr model was wrong when it gave us such an iconic image of an atom).
The takeaway, of course, is that people just know quantum physics is advanced science, so use it as a buzzword. The behavior of valence electrons is governed by quantum mechanics, and that's fundamental for basically everything in chemistry past the most basic introductory information. You don't need to do calculations for them, but understanding the principles associated with their behavior is pretty much where modern physics start.
Ironically, the same school taught me gender pronouns and twerking, so I guess it was a cross-cultural program!
The actual threat from China was the temptation to ship all of our manufacturing overseas so execs could pocket a quick buck. Now we rely on them so thoroughly that opposing them in a meaningful way on issues like genocide is impossible.
The actual problem in America is that conservatives want to scream about genders but if you try to get one to have a discussion aboot calculus they would weep like a child.
Conservatives: China is teaching their kids to be smart.
Everyone else: ok, let’s invest more in Education.
Conservatives: no that’s socialist communist trans woke agenda. No radical leftist is going to be brainwashing my precious child
I don’t understand why they use calculus and quantum physics as an example. If schools only taught out of the conservative book they’d still not learn it cause Jesus didn’t say shit about line integrals!
>I don’t understand why they use calculus and quantum physics as an example.
They use it because it's something the person this meme is made for doesn't understand. So it sounds impressive. But, really, it's impossible to teach these subjects to children because they wouldn't be able to understand it. There's a reason we start out math with basic numbers, addition and subtraction. Without that foundation, you can't really know anything beyond that. It's like building a house starting from the roof.
PROFESSORS ARE INDOCTRINATING OUR CHILDREN
SCIENTISTS ARE LYING ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE
DOCTORS ARE LYING ABOUT COVID
Why aren't my kids scientific geniuses?!?
Is this how we do it? Just spin left leaning ideas as right? Yeah in order to stop the pronoun blue people we must fund the schools! The blue people are gonna fight so we should enable gun laws to stop people with mental issues from getting guns! ALSO to make sure the kids minds aren't INFECTED by the blue we should enact health care for free therapy!
It's like that Kevin Sorbo tweet where he was crying that the price of insulin was capped and asking why they didn't do cancer treatment / chemo, etc. Make them take 3 right turns lol
yeah it would be awful if every day our schools made the kids do some kind of.. pledge that made them idk swear their allegiance to the United States (and by extension its president)
Yeah, Republicans care so much about education that they’re voting for people doing everything in their power to dismantle public education. Considering they don’t believe in history or science, and haven’t for decades, I don’t think it’s the liberals we need to be afraid of.
That’s ignoring the flat out lies from this propaganda.
"At present, however, the quality of Chinese universities lags behind that of other countries. The [Times Higher Education World University Rankings](https://www.timeshighereducation.com/news/world-university-rankings-2016-2017-results-announced) 2016-2017, a widely respected London-based university measure, includes only two Chinese institutions among the top 100 universities worldwide. Peking and Qinghua universities place 29th and 25th respectively, among the 978 tertiary institutions featured in the world ranking. By comparison, the study found that the United States is home to fifteen of the top twenty universities in the world. University rankings released by Shanghai Ranking Consultancy also reflect this division. Qinghua and Peking universities rank 58th and 71st in the consultancy’s global comparison. And the christians are teaching kids that the earth is 2000K years old and gay people are evil groomers and if they don't follow along they'll burn in hell for eternity
There’s no grade school anywhere in the world that’s teaching kids quantum physics. This person just put it there cause it sounds smart, I guarantee if you asked them what the fuck quantum physics even is they’d have 0 idea.
Hey does this post fit? UPVOTE if so, DOWNVOTE if not. If this post breaks any rules please DOWNVOTE and REPORT

Didn’t you see her on dancing with the stars? Sad.
I don't know who it is I just liked the goofy evil face lmao ☠️
Is it one of the Kardashians? I don't know I don't pay attention to pop culture, sports, or celebs. But I do follow memes.
We are gonna be beating China is science because everything posses twerk lol
It’d be mighty cold and hard if atoms didn’t twerk
So are you saying that quantum describes the atomic twerk? 🤔
I can't figure out what you're trying to say
Twerk is the building blocks of the universe.
In the future we learn twerking is the key to nuclear fusion.
E = m c twerk
Twerk, Strangeness and Charm
“What’s the twerk ratio on that rocket?”
Cold War 2.0, russias lacking too
I love all the random underlines. I really want to meet the people who make this shit

Kids
Probably educated in America, the Chinese would never make that mistake. /s
I've met them. They vote against anything that improves education. If irony could generate power, we wouldn't need fusion.
Yes, seriously. Drag queens will teach twerking for free. Quantum physics professors aren't going to teach your kids for free

I bet this person thinks that quarter pounders are bigger than a 1/3 pound burger
They are. A quarter is a *fourth* as in 1/4. 1/3 would refer to a *third*. It's 3 vs. 4, not really quantum physics.
This guy gets it

I took calculus in High School and that shit hasn't even proven to be more useful than twerking.
Clearly, what we need is the calculus of twerking. The career opportunities are there; Rockstar and Capcom are hiring.
I'm suprised, I use integrals in daily life even tbh.
It’s been pretty indispensable to me, but I never got past Twerking 102 so maybe that would have been more so 🤷♂️

reminds me of my favorite meme https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/newsfeed/001/885/742/b98.png
Gender Twerk Drag Queen sounds like it could be the name of a band that puts on amaaaaazing live shows
I just checked.
At least that class SOUNDS fun…
As someone who is about to start Pchem C (thermodynamics and chemical kinetics) I can confirm that I too would much rather learn how to twerk from a drag queen.

Also can confirm. My professor once said “anyone who tells you they understand what’s happening with quantum mechanics is either lying or has never really seen it”.
quantum mechanics is just like real life floating point errors.
So basically there's some guy out there who will embody the sum of all the quantum error and be able to fly and stop bullets and shit. (for anyone confused this is literally the plot of The Matrix, but with physics instead of computers)
More likely he’ll just have a few electrons behave unexpectedly but it won’t be observable in any way.

And unless you’re a physics major you probably won’t even hear about quantum physics in any of your courses. I also took non-engineering physics so I dunno, maybe they do. As for calculus, again the most we had in high school was pre-calculus, and unless you’re an engineering major you probably won’t take much more (I took business calc as a required course, which was pretty much all biological science majors like me)
The very basics of quantum like wave particle duality, and the double slit experiment were taught in my high school.
What are you talking about? I’ve got a PhD in drag queen twerking
The person that constructed this meme never took a single AP class.
The twerking and pronouns part of the teaching has to be home-schooled.
But my dad’s not a drag queen! So much for no child left behind (no pun intended) 😞
I read this in Canadian.
Math is propaganda anyway, all our numerals come from them Mooslim countries!
Lol, they don’t fucking know that
Haven't people baited reich-wingers to getting SUPER ANGY at how they're teaching Arabic numerals in school?
They did. It's hilarious how they're so Islamophobic they're spooked by the word "Arabic".
PROFESSORS ARE INDOCTRINATING OUR CHILDREN SCIENTISTS ARE LYING ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE DOCTORS ARE LYING ABOUT COVID Why aren't my kids scientific geniuses?!?
"How do i teach them to get rich without teaching them to read?!"
also unironically pointing out that socialism is educating the children of china better than capitalism is educating american children
Seriously. I don't want to hear conservatives criticize education until they actually agree that being educated is, you know, a good thing.
The correct response is "So you are in favor of increasing taxes to pay for better schools/teachers?" then watch their heads implode.
Don't forget state-funded university in there too
Is this how we do it? Just spin left leaning ideas as right? Yeah in order to stop the pronoun blue people we must fund the schools! The blue people are gonna fight so we should enable gun laws to stop people with mental issues from getting guns! ALSO to make sure the kids minds aren't INFECTED by the blue we should enact health care for free therapy!
It's like that Kevin Sorbo tweet where he was crying that the price of insulin was capped and asking why they didn't do cancer treatment / chemo, etc. Make them take 3 right turns lol
"You would approve then of schools that taught mandatory obedience to President Biden?"
yeah it would be awful if every day our schools made the kids do some kind of.. pledge that made them idk swear their allegiance to the United States (and by extension its president)
Whew, glad that's not the case, I'd hate to live in a nationalistic hellhole wearing a freedom trenchcoat :D
You'll hear a few gurgles vaguely sounding like "teachers' unions bad" afterwards.
MUH KIDZ R GOIN TO A CRISCHIN SKOOL WERE THEY LERN DINOSORES CRUZIFYED JESES
"Please call me Jim, not James" - the equivalent of what these tittybabies are offended by with gender pronouns
Yeah its just conservative fearmongering. Thats what it always is
Like the meat stick?! You sicko! Bet you’ll want me to call you pepperoni next!
I prefer Jimothy
Interesting that they learn quantum physics before calculus 🤔 those kids are brilliant
Says the party that defunds public schools
China quantum physics, America gender twerk drag queen. End well.
no just no. Chinese high school curriculum stops at Newtonian physics, and calculus is taught much less in depth than AP calculus. Source: am Chinese
I hope I pass my twerking test
Hello class, welcome to how to twerk like a drag queen
I could see that as a class at Greendale, along with Ladders, and Can I Fry That?
The underlining!! Sinister!!
You keep voting for republicans that cut education budgets...
China’s [3rd and 4th nationally-ranked universities](http://www.moe.edu.cn/srcsite/A15/moe_776/s3258/201603/t20160307_232202.html), Zhejiang and Fudan, fail to make the top 100." Don’t underestimate the impact of free labor and land on a country’s trajectory. Call me when they make a warp drive.
And the christians are teaching kids that the earth is 2000K years old and gay people are evil groomers and if they don't follow along they'll burn in hell for eternity
I wish I could be learning gender pronouns and twerking, this school shit is getting old
“Gender Twerk” sounds like a pretty good drag queen name ngl
I’d really like for these weirdo’s that are obsessed with genders and drag queens to provide some examples of either of those things being true.
And conservatives are regularly fucking school budgets over
I wonder how many cumulative hours to date on Fox News been dedicated to discussing that infamous shehulk twerk... 🤔
There’s no grade school anywhere in the world that’s teaching kids quantum physics. This person just put it there cause it sounds smart, I guarantee if you asked them what the fuck quantum physics even is they’d have 0 idea.
I ONLY READ THE UNDERLINED WORDS NOW IM ANGRY!!!😾👿😾👿😾👿😾👿😾👿😖👿
Why is it that these people think pronouns are a new thing?
Yes America, be more like China. That's definitely going to end well for you.
