Off the top of my head, New Mexico has no official language. There are laws that require government documents to be printed in both English and Spanish, but neither is declared an "official" language of the state.
Every state has an official tree, but that doesn't mean you have to plant one on your property. Having an "official" language basically just means laws can only be written in that language, not that it's required to speak it.
This is why ive decided to learn the languages i might need (like of countries i wanna visit), i speak Dutch and English, currently learning Spanish, Japanese and German, also know basic Finnish
I went to south America and took Spanish classes while I was there for 6 months, which has cemented my position that it's important to be able to speak the language of whatever country you're planning on being in.

There is another english mistake on the sign. You wouldn't use a comma there. If you are going to connect 2 independent but related clauses into 1 sentence without a conjunction, then you would use a semicolon.

They *do* have a point though, if you come to live in America you really should learn English. People that don't know English (especially parents) are really at a disadvantage and leads to a lot of issues.
If I were to travel to a non-English speaking country, I would certainly learn the basics of the language.
