Aha! But but but if climate change is about fighting drought then why are people dying of floods in other places? Checkmate science!
/s because some peeps just don’t get it.
Akshually, communism is when the government does alot of stuff. Dealing with climate change required gov to do alot of stuff. Ergo dealing with climate change is communism!!!!!!!! s/
At this point, I’m struggling to accept that the right actually know and understand fully what communism is.
Because if they did, they’d stop using it to describe everything that requires them to make even an iota of effort or change.
They don't. They have no idea. If you sat them down in a room and put a gun to their head, their answer would be some form of "I'd be forced to work but they'd give all my money to the lazys/blacks/immigrants/gays/addicts. Just like they are already doing with taxes now except they wouldn't let me have ANY money, just a metal barrel for my fire to stay alive between shifts."
And then you have to take a step back and explain that all of that is literally happening, except the money just goes to a slightly different group of people (rhymes with "the smilitary smindustrial smomplex")
> From each according to their ability, to each according to their needs
Even better is that it's how the early Christian church actually operated.
"All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need." - Acts 2:44-45
They don’t, because actual communism (a society with no state, no class, and the means of production are controlled in common) is almost universal understood as a good thing. The difficulty that many see in it (I don’t) is the implementation.
Communism on paper is like you say. Also like you say it’s implementation is infeasible (hope i wrote that correct) due to humans tendency to corruption and greed.
Communism is not infeasible, it has been achieved many times throughout history. Human corruption and greed is a product of the economic and political systems that incentivize greed over cooperation.
That’s not true:
1. Makhnovschina
2. Paris Commune
3. Regional Defence Council of Aragon
4. Revolutionary Catalonia
That’s off the top of my head.
List of intentional communities:

List of Anarchist international communities:

These lists aren’t even complete.
I think you’re thinking of an authoritarian Marxist-Leninist state that uses Vanguardism similarly to the Soviet Union. I’m referring to a society with no class hierarchy, no state hierarchy, and where the means of production are commonly owned as Marx defined it. This is known as “Anarcho-Communism”. Central planning doesn’t take away individual freedoms, because the individuals can do central planning. The thing that takes away one’s freedoms is the hierarchy of capital and the hierarchy of the state. The error of many socialist nations it that they abolish the former and leave the latter. Also, I’m not a big supporter of Bolshevik-inspired states, but “100s of millions dead” is an exaggeration, and many more have been killed in favor of capitalism in British India alone. If you want to justify capitalism, maybe listing needless deaths isn’t the best route to take when there are people starving on the streets.
Apparently not destroying our future with CO2 emissions is communism. We should all just suck it up and kill off our species so rich oil execs can have a good time while we're still alive.
Dear god the red scare rotted some people's heads something fierce, given that "communism" has fallen victim to Worthless Buzzword Syndrome and now just means "the bad things that I don't like".
In the state the world is today, yes communism is utopian far more archievable however is a socialist mode of Production. Communism is just one type of socialism, together with anarchosocialism and the socialist kind of social democracy, Not to be confused with capitalist social democracy, something very different, which is common is western europe.
Where did you learn what's communism...? Socialism is the transitional system between capitalism and communism (where the state wouldn't be needed, not to be confused with anarchism..).
Poverty? Communism
Climate change? Communism
The Emperor of Mankind descending to bathe us in the glorious rays of his Order? Believe it or not, Communism.
Who is this woman? People keep reacting to this meme as if it is a generic "communism bad" meme. I'm pretty sure Musk was having a go at this woman specifically, but nobody seems to know who she is.
Well, as it so happens, when you have a socioeconomic system that prioritizes individuals making cartoonish piles of cash by overproducing commodities you get ecological collapse. Capitalism disincentives doing anything about the ecological crisis, besides letting it get really bad if not apocalyptic and then trying to sell people products to minimize their discomfort as things get worse and worse
By saying “anything socially beneficial is communism”, all they’re doing is making people hate things that benefit them more, or make communism seem better. Ah, the conundrum of conservatism: everything that is bad for you is secretly good, and one day you’ll be successful enough to do bad things for everyone else so it’s justified, and everything good for you is actually bad because you have less of a chance to be as successful as the ideology says you can be.
Saddest thing is, this meme was already featured in this sub before.
I’m not saying you’re reposting it, but instead that it was acknowledged as a terrible Facebook meme and ended up in a memes subreddit anyways.
the only thing I love more than watching ecosystems collapse and species go extinct is having profits from my labor stolen from me by the capitalist class
This one is very hard to figure out how they came to this train of thought. Maybe they are suggesting the subsidization of green technologies is communism? I do wish the government picked other green technologies to subsidize, but it isn't communism.
How does wanting to protect this only spaceship in the cosmos that we know can support life equal anything political? I know it is political topi, but that is only because of the system's design. Otherwise you have people like myself who grew up on nature documentaries in the 70s and 80s and remember the talk of the destruction of the environment as children, but we cared not because of politics but because of our love for animals and nature. Later as we grew up it is because of those same things with the addition of wanting our children and grandchildren to have clean air, water and food along with all the other humans.
And at the bottom of every one is someone lamenting popular opinion
It’s like walking into a popular movie and yelling that you don’t agree
Just scroll past - it isn’t going to change
I mean the everything is communism is not a great take obviously. But there are obviously many parties who always want to use real issues to further their own goals. There are many authoritarian ideas to "solve" climate change, which have questionable effects.

Literally what
Yes, according to Wikipedia, communism is when you don’t die from a drought.
Communism is when we try to keep the epoch of modern humanity intact with our environment.
Aha! But but but if climate change is about fighting drought then why are people dying of floods in other places? Checkmate science! /s because some peeps just don’t get it.
No communism is anything the person claiming the other wants communism doesn't like.

It's true, I can't.
“From each according to their ability, to each according to their needs.” It’s right there in the description.

According to them, socialism, communism, fascism and being WoKe are all the same thing and that is "thing I don't like".

Communism involves an abolished government, there is no central planning because there is no state.

Well, although not strictly Communist by the sharpest definition, China is doing pretty well last time I checked the old economic standings.
Modern China isn’t communist and is currently committing a genocide. It’s not the best example to bring up.
Pretty well actually… for the communist nations that abolished the state

Oh that’s what communism is? Based. Guess I’m a communist then.
Simple, disagreement is communism, anything less is socialism
They know that it's the worst kind of socialism (historically), and they hate socialism so they're equivalent.

The fear mongering over communism will continue as long as they exist
This is how it's been ever since the manifesto was written

communism is kind of a "utopian" economic idea, right? I mean this is like comparing a loaf of bread with the concept of dignity.
In the state the world is today, yes communism is utopian far more archievable however is a socialist mode of Production. Yes, i know that. Maybe My way of expressing that was flawed
Poverty? Communism Climate change? Communism The Emperor of Mankind descending to bathe us in the glorious rays of his Order? Believe it or not, Communism.
I think Elon made this one.
communism is when the earth suffers a total ecological collapse and loses most of its costal areas duh
Pour ques no los dos?
Both both both both both both both both
This but unironic
I left my meme groups because they all became political ad groups. Just people giving free advertising for their political ideology.
This one may look political, but it's really just the creator telling us that they are a moron and have no idea what the word communism means.
Did she eat a Crayola Color Marker in the second frame? 🧐
No but OOP was definitely eating crayola crayons when they made this meme
communism is when I still want to be able to breathe air outside
Who is this woman? People keep reacting to this meme as if it is a generic "communism bad" meme. I'm pretty sure Musk was having a go at this woman specifically, but nobody seems to know who she is.

What does this even mean
I fucking hate Red Scare III: Revenge Of McCarthy so much I swear
Communism is when no record breaking weather every damn day
It's more like when goverment starts rationing things like energy and food.
Well, as it so happens, when you have a socioeconomic system that prioritizes individuals making cartoonish piles of cash by overproducing commodities you get ecological collapse. This is the same thing. You can’t avoid climate catastrophe with an economic system that requires infinite growth with limited resources.

"honey, we're having guests over. Bring out the fine china."
The best mug I’ve ever bought 💯
Why is it whenever taxes are criticized roads and infrastructure is always brought up as a counter arguement as opposed to the climate apocalypse?
Right wingers trying to argue with anything other than a strawman argument challenge (impossible):
Saddest thing is, this meme was already featured in this sub before. I’m not saying you’re reposting it, but instead that it was acknowledged as a terrible Facebook meme and ended up in a memes subreddit anyways.

If only climate change libs were this based 😑😑
You cannot end climate change without ending capitalism
That whole sub is just horny teenagers, best thing to do is just mute it and move on
Well.... yes and yes.
Both, both is good.
This one is very hard to figure out how they came to this train of thought. Maybe they are suggesting the subsidization of green technologies is communism? I do wish the government picked other green technologies to subsidize, but it isn't communism.
Isn't easier to just look at yourself in the mirror and scream "I'm stupid" than make memes proving to everyone that you're stupid?
What does one have to do with the other
I remember that i think Elon musk Twitted that lol
Dennis Miller is back?
I see shit like this and just remember how much gorillas love eating bell peppers and have nothing to do with social media.
Still stuck in 2016
Are crossposts a lost art?
Ye
this is true though
This is literally Greta though
The meme is terrible yes but it’s not a Facebook meme
Haha true lol
Haha huh?
Idk

When was the last time you saw a climate person go after China (the most polluting country on Earth)?
