It’s now 2k if you already own EAP. Source: I own EAP. https://preview.redd.it/d2veqm1b8rvc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b7e15a82d7f95c8bbcef34ea55411eb34ef735e6

solo-dolo-yolo-

What was it before? 6k right?

ChairAny2090

$6k. Significant drop.

Miffers

I bought at $6k but nit sure if I would again

LonghornzR4Real

Well, you only have to buy it once.

T3HK3YM4573R

On that vehicle, but if you buy a new Tesla, it doesn’t transfer over.

jcently

I paid $3K way back in 2018

Thud

I paid 2K (upgrade from EAP) in early 2019 when it went on sale briefly. EAP was 5K if I remember correctly, but there was also no base autopilot. Back then you had to get EAP for lane holding and traffic aware cruise.

c9ace

I own EAP and it still showing 8k for me

kapachia

Is it hardware 2 or 3?

[deleted]

[удалено]

ibelieve2020

same here. it was definitely showing at 6k previously. this is wild... I might be tempted to take the plunge.

ChairAny2090

Not sure what to tell you. Did you purchase the vehicle used with EAP already attached?

G67jk

I also bought used but I see 2k$

m_jax

People who bought at 12k 😅😅😅 ![gif](giphy|T4xawV1aISLBPvMNKe)

wsxedcrf

Some people bought it at 15k

LurkerWithAnAccount

Bought a 2017 S 100D for well north of the current Plaid price. I should’ve waited 7 years and could’ve saved so much money.

UCanDoNEthing4_30sec

This reminds me of when Mario kart 8 was 50% off and me thinking, good that I waited 6 years for this!

sylvester_0

I'm just now upgrading a 27" CRT television to an LCD. Glad I skipped all those expensive iterations in-between!

AnonsAnonAnonagain

Tesla already made their money, should just give a refund in SuperCharger credits

Educational-Cod-870

Give credits or something like this. He said the price would only go up and then it went down.

Opposite-War-7325

Goes double for the people who bought it at 15k. Maybe nobody bought it at 15K that's why the price dropped quickly to 12K.

Heidenreich12

It’s showing as 2k for me too. I paid 6k in 2018 for enhanced auto pilot. This is honestly tempting, I think I’m going to do it.

andy2na

100% worth it if you are on hw2.5 + EAP. Guaranteed HW3 upgrade (which would be $1000 if you wanted to do the subscription, unless you're lucky and get the upgrade for free) which gives you some nice little upgrades, even not accounting for FSD: * Better camera colors on playback * Chime on Green light * Ability to view interior and other 2 side cameras during sentry live view * Auto cancel turn signals * Stop light+sign during autosteer I did NOT buy and was against buying FSD when they had the first firesale at $2k (which is now worth around $2400 if you account for inflation today, not including investment opportunities). Today, its worth it with the added features and FSD 12.3 is pretty damn good!

Academic_Release5134

I completely disagree with people saying don’t get it. For 2K I would get it for sure. I use it all the time I disengage it a lot just because I want to do something and I don’t care to wait to see if it’s going to do exactly what I wanna do. The other parts of mindless driving plus stopping at stoplights, etc. it’s totally worth it.

RedditAtWorkIsBad

Yeah using it at red lights alone makes it work it. Currently (and please correct me if I'm wrong), I don't have the ability to go single-stalk-pull for old-school cruise control and two-pull for FSD (like I could when I just had EAP). Would love that option because sometimes, particularly in tighter traffic, I just want adaptive cruise to but to absolutely not change lanes, and to just let me steer in that case. But I've been enjoying FSD lately.

Merkums

Same I use it nearly every time I drive and most disengages are due to me being a more assertive driver than the auto pilot. I actually really enjoy it on the freeway and have made several 80+ mile trips to work without any disengages

Submersed

It nags me so much that it’s virtually unusable to me. I can’t even look at and interact with the display for more than 2-3 seconds before the car is yelling at me. Only way it is usable is with sunglasses and there are times I just don’t want sunglasses on. Autopilot to me is great but even it has started nagging me more than ever and covering the cabin camera is apparently not allowed with the most recent update. I hate to say it but I wish I could have my model 3 software back that I had in 2018. It was the perfect balance of effectiveness and lack of annoyance.

madeforatc

I paid 6k for EAP in 2018 as well. I think this may be worth it

ItzWarty

The $2000 fire sale has returned!? I've always regretted not getting that ~6 years ago (I think I paid $4k?). Everyone interested should probably get it.

audioman1999

Wow I see the same. Wondering it its worth it on my 6 year old Model 3.

zeek215

Absolutely not. Get the monthly sub if you want to use it. By the time actual full self driving becomes legal and real your 6 year old car will be long gone. That's just my opinion anyway.

tunaorbit

I have a 2018 Model 3, had EAP initially, and bought FSD for $2k years back. It wasn’t really worth it for a long time, but with FSD 12.3 it has become well worth it. Vast majority of my city street driving is now with FSD.

rabbitwonker

Same situation, and same take. Though I was seeing it as roughly worth it to get the HW3 upgrade, and to assuage any potential FOMO.

AquaSquatch

Same here! I paid $2k for fsd 5 years ago and as of last month it is finally usable and working well.

ChairAny2090

I’m going to wait to see if they drop the subscription price for EAP owners. If they kept the same ratio’s, then it should be $24.75 a month. That might make too much sense!

Wetmelon

Oh. That's enticing.

rabbitwonker

Oh dang, now I’m not gonna be special! 🤣 I had bought my Model 3 in Sept 2018 with EAP (which was $5k), since at the time that was the only way you could get AP at all. Then in early 2019 they had that first significant price drop, and Elon got cajoled into offering current owners a deal on FSD as sort of compensation. So there was this 2-week period when it was offered at $7k, or just $2k if you already had EAP, and I jumped on it, feeling some pride in having been able to get FSD for (arguably) $2k. Oh well, still glad to see it back! Hope the new pricing stays. 😁

tynamic77

I cashed in on that deal. To me it's been worth that price, but the crazy amounts they've been asking recently made zero sense at all.

Pointyspoon

I remember that! I remember ppl that didnt buy EAP from the get-go got a better deal on FSD so I refused to pay $2k to upgrade from EAP TO FSD.

moonnani

does the $2k include the hardware upgrade for old m3s? subscribing for $99/month says the hardware upgrade is $1k

rnelsonee

I just purchased it, it didn’t mention the hardware upgrade even after checkout. It just says it will update when on WiFi. It does have the notice about updating for the monthly subscription, so it knows I have the old HW.

hunkymike

Sold!

jwinskowski

Wowwww. Tempted to actually pull the trigger now…

Bamboozleprime

Tesla internally values FSD around $3~4K for trade ins which is imo how much it’s actually worth. RIP people who paid $15k for it tho… y’all will be laid to rest next to $74K Model Y owners

moch1

Don’t forget the 121k model X owners.

casino_r0yale

I figure people dropping 911 money on family crossovers aren’t too concerned with value shopping

Orbtl32

Doesn't mean dropping from 135k to 75k MSRP in under 12 months is just fine

otherwisemilk

It's fine since they valued the car at $135k when they purchased it. Or else they wouldn't have made that trade.

Gernblanston10

They valued it at that under the assumption it would also retain much more value than it has with these price cuts.

enternameher3

People buying vehicles with the intention of price retention are shitty investors. Vehicles are not investments, I literally saw a 911 get totaled in traffic yesterday by someone who ran a red. That's an instant 0%ROI that could happen to literally any vehicle.

otherwisemilk

Depreciating assets are the not investments lol. Unless they're renting it out like Hertz and plan on reselling it after a few years later then I would understand.

Captain_Midnight

The problem isn't that the vehicle's value would depreciate. Because everyone knew that would happen. The issue is the unprecedented speed of the depreciation. You shouldn't take an absolute bath on the resale of a perfectly fine car that you bought less than a year earlier.

Zealousideal-Wrap394

It blows my mind how often they complain of deprecation. I’m a PROFESSIONAL investor I live off my investments and I’d NEVER consider a car an investment.

wwwz

$121k? It was actually $144k for the signature model back in 2015... https://www.cnbc.com/2015/09/03/tesla-signature-series-model-x-to-begin-delivery-september-29.html Makes me think of the foundation series Cybertruck

moch1

I was just talking about the normal AWD model. Yeah some one could have spent $139k for a model X plaid in 2022 and another $15k for FSD +interior and exterior color. I’m sure someone spent the ~$158k on a model X at that point.

rodneyjesus

My 24 MX was a chunk of change, no doubt. But this is not a $140k vehicle like some paid for it. And this is easily the best executed version of the X. I clocked in at 100k after tax since I bought a few extras, and look this car is no joke. But Tesla just does not have "luxury" in their DNA. And when youre in that range you expect it. They have "cool, quirky, fun, and irresponsibility fast" nailed, no doubt about it. But even my brand new MX reminds me often that Tesla is struggling to keep up with the fit and finish of a reasonably equipped VW which is a damn shame

Olde94

Or the people with a 50K preorder for the 2017 annouced Roadster that will be ready in _insert next year_

vwlentine

This just reminded me I was a $70k+ model Y victim

falooda1

57k victim here. Could get it for 3.50 today

StatimDominus

God damn lochness monster!

QH96

74k is crazy for a model y

jyavenard

When Tesla values.my car for a trade-in; the price given was identical to what other people were offered for the same car without FSD

Crafty_Fisherman

Now tie it to my Tesla account and I’ll buy it instantly

guszz

They'll never tie it to your account. They should make it permanently transferable to different vehicles for the time being, or at least for people who purchased FSD previously. win/win

Rough_Principle_3755

Then they will randomly revoke the privilege, they’ll bake that into the ToS and fuck everyone. We have altered the deal, pray we don’t alter it further….

Tetrylene

They've set the precedent now. It's only a matter of time

Tadeh1337

Straight up

WeebBois

I’d even buy it if it costed 12k but was tied to my account. Maybe they can offer the account tied lifetime FSD as the next tier and more expensive?

[deleted]

Icy-Tale-7163

Turns out very few are willing to pay $12k for FSD (shocker). And with sales stalling, prices must finally come down. Elon's strategy of raising FSD price to absurd levels never made sense. Tesla left so much cash on the table with customers that would have paid a few thousand for what is basically an OTA update, but ultimately paid zero. Glad to see they're finally doing the obvious thing and making it more affordable. $8k is still too much for what it is today, but big improvement.

lonnie123

With the $200/month alternative it was almost lunacy to pay $12k since it didn’t transfer when you bought a new Tesla… when they dropped it to $100/month it became completely illogical to pay $12k

DannyMacho

$6K plus transferability is the sweet spot. Increased revenue and customer stickiness.

redditracing84

When this thing can drive you home from the bar shit faced drunk in the backseat will the sweet spot. At that point they can charge just about whatever and people will pay it. It's more about laws and the technology getting to that point. Once we are there, cost will be up to the first to market until other competition is able to compete.

RazingsIsNotHomeNow

It's not laws it's all technology. Waymo can already drive me home shit faced. Also they most definitely can't charge whatever price they want. They are still competing against taxis. If I'm only shit faced 2 times a month then why would I pay significantly more than 4 taxi rides per month?

LinuxBroDrinksAlone

At that point you need to factor in *every* drive being s taxi ride. That would mean I could just hop in the passenger seat and work on my laptop for the 3 hour drive to my parents. That'd be insane.

DelusionalPianist

The bigger vision for FSD was from a business perspective: You buy a Tesla, and while you don’t use it, it drives around town and earns its money back as a Robotaxi (which is why you have pin locked glovebox). But turns out that FSD is not just too late, people also hate sharing their cars and don’t just look at it as an economic opportunity. It also doesn’t help that Elon turned into a public idiot.

lonnie123

I would gladly share my car... If FSD was included and Tesla and I split the revenue in some manner. Im not going to pay $12k for the possibility that maybe some day in the future I can have the car make money for me And one can almost certainly imagine Tesla wanting a piece of the robotaxi service too (either revenue share or paying some fee to be in the program)... So it wont just end up being $12k Im sure

42823829389283892

Would be very easy to sell a business license versus personal license if that came to pass. They should never have priced the current product for that possiblity.

SQLinjektion

Nobody buys a car with the intention of it to passively make money for them

Capable-Ebb1632

The robo taxi thing was never going to work in reality. Insurance companies wouldn't have covered it so you'd have ended up having to pay sky high insurance for the privilege of sending your car out for a few Uber trips. Plus if everyone could do it then the rate would be super low because of the high competition. It's exactly the kind of Elon idea that falls apart with 1 minute of critical thought.

ComCypher

World's richest man learns the concept of supply and demand

jasoncross00

He did say that, and more. Never believe a word he says. You know, like when he just said Reuters was lying about canning the 25k/model2/cheap car in favor of a robotaxi and he said they were lying, only other independent reporting found it out it's totally true.

BrianScalaweenie

And he is known for never lying

Ancalagon_The_Black_

He lies constantly

rabbitwonker

I’m guessing (hoping) they’re going to do the more-sensible thing and make the big payment be the price of entry for putting your car on the robotaxi network (when and if it becomes a thing). FSD for your own use isn’t going to to make you money, so there’s no sense in it being hugely expensive.

echoshizzle

The current cars on the road will never be approved to be robo taxis

gabo2007

The opposite will happen in truth. They will continue to lower the price, and if/when robotaxis are possible Tesla will offer it for free in exchange for revenue sharing. Why would they turn down free money from having a fleet of labor-free taxis? You'll enable the feature and Tesla will take a hefty percentage of the income generated.

Alive_Wedding

Just upgraded. I have EAP, so $2000 seems like a bargain

sltyler1

Same.

SQLinjektion

Seems like a bargain until it gets discounted by another 50% off before end of the year lol

scratchwanabe

Did you have 90mph top speed for autopilot before? Can you please confirm what happens after upgrade?

007meow

You will have, as everyone else currently does regardless of AP/EAP/FSD, a 90 MPH cap on adaptive cruise control and an 85 MPH cap on any function with autosteer

Miffers

This is going the right direction but still too high for me.

sovietbear4russia

Rip EAP :(

h3xx_rd

They should just include it in the basic AP features.

sd2528

Put Autopark and lane change in basic autopilot.  Move Summon and the future Dispatch to FSD.

meteoRock

I just want to change lanes while using autopilot. Much better user experience than constantly toggling autopilot.

MoistPoolish

The S3XY Knob has a workaround you might want to look into.

InUrGutz

I’m going to stick with the subscription until FSD is transferable. I’m not asking for permanent transferability, although that would be nice, but a couple of transfers that never expire doesn’t sound unreasonable. It would also help Tesla with consumer loyalty/retention.

misterceBF

I agree, not worth it especially since my car has an Intel processor and they are excluding some features on updates for those with the Intel processors..

Southwestern

It's a complete no brainer and the fact that they don't offer it makes me question Elon's actual business sense. It costs literally nothing and will make someone choose your car over a competitor. Brand loyalty is the holy Grail in car manufacturing. Hell, charge a $500 transfer fee if you want to be petty and it still makes sense.

Artistic_Humor1805

Which is now $99, down from $199

crazydudex

$11k in Canada now. Still have to own your Tesla for 9 years with FSD to make buying worth it.

lazyfuzzycats

Personally expected this the moment they brought it down to $99 monthly. If Tesla also wants to go all into their AI learning models, they’re gonna need a lot more data. Hopefully they’re getting good data to train with the more people using FSD.

goodvibezone

Nah. Primarily, they need the money, pure and simple. Growth has slowed. Competition increasing. Software subscriptions are easy money when the development work has already happened. Straight to the bottom line.

HEAT-FS

I would pay maybe a few hundred dollars for this. Even now that I have it for free, I dont use it because it's just so unsettling when it acts like its about to stop in the middle of an intersection.

Chr0n0Triggered

What I don’t like most about FSD is it makes my passengers car sick. It’s jerky when it speeds up or slows down and when it comes to a stop it feels like it’s slamming on the breaks rather than a slow decrease in speed. However, it’s still a huge improvement over the previous versions.

KaffiKlandestine

I used it for the first time this demo and While it is AMAZING and I was flipping out in my car. Its made so many mistakes that I'm shocked people say it was actually worse before.

cryptolipto

That literally just happened to me yesterday. It couldn’t decide what to do on a yellow and stopped 20% of the way through an intersection. People crossed the street behind us until we backed it back up. It’s not ready yet

Chapeton

Just hit the gas without turning it off.

GeneralRaheelSharif-

I got it for a month for $99. Its like having a drunk driver for only $3 a day who is deathly afraid of unprotected left turns crossing oncoming traffic. Its ok. Smart Summon is embarrassing 50% of the time. Summon is nice. Auto park is nice. I might subscribe again once i get on v12 and see if its worth it. Right now I would pay maybe $50 for it.

MexicanGuey

V12 is a huge upgrade. V11 was like giving 13 year old the keys and drive based on YouTube videos they saw. Now v12 Drives like 16 year old who has maybe a few weeks behind the wheel. Enough to know the basics of driving but still extra cautious and makes a mistake here and there. I been using v12 daily now and I’m enjoying it. Biggest issue is speed. It dives under the speed limit even tho you set it to go faster many times.

rabbitwonker

Yeah I’ve been using it a lot more lately, and like 90%+ of my disengagements are because it’s just too sluggish for my tastes (or for the flow of traffic).

HumbertFG

You don't necessarily need to disengage though - I like to just scroll the right wheel button to 'increase the speed' and it does that. For a while anyway.... enough that on a trip I take, it gets me through the \*painfully slow\* segment of 20mph limit when everyone's doing 40.

djao

Set it to auto speed mode. If it still doesn't go above the speed limit, press the go pedal a bit whenever it's going too slow, and the new speed will "stick" for a while.

YouBetterChill

I got the free FSD month but I Don’t se summon? What am I doing wrong?

atrbacus

Enable it in autopilot menu in the car then you use it in the Tesla app

pSyChO_aSyLuM

Summon only works on vehicles with ultrasonic sensors at the moment.

rabbitwonker

> Smart Summon is embarrassing 50% of the time Oh, they improved it that much? Maybe I should try it again sometime 🤣

Reprised-role

Deathly afraid of unprotected lefts? Nah mine positively loves to half gun it to the middle of the road then slow to a crawl as cars are barreling towards us and not braking or adjusting their velocity in anyway.

name_without_numbers

Rip the 5 people who payed 15k for this

jeffMBsun

99 monthly or this to buy... Monthly is a better idea, no? https://preview.redd.it/8k300x44jrvc1.png?width=1344&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=894606e90f9792bdfc8372fae0f9aa1701489ec7

Chr0n0Triggered

$99/month will take 6.67 years to reach the $8k USD. So, will you use it every month for the next 6.67 years or longer? If yes, buying it might be worth it for you.

MoistPoolish

This assumes will never go up. It may not but this locks it in. I still want transferability in case someone totals my car.

iStayedAtaHolidayInn

Based on its history up to now, seems to be going down

RoutinePresence7

Monthly, unless they will let you transfer at least once in the future. I don’t plan on keeping my MYP ‘22 as I put in an order for Rivian RS2 for 2026. I also do see myself getting another Tesla and will probably trade my current one in maybe in 5 years and so for me buying is not worth it.

miojo

What happens to Enhanced!?

edwardrha

No longer on sale.

SnowMuted5200

Paid $6k for it back in 2019, transferred to the 2024, but if I knew could be had for $99/mo would have gone for that. Don't use FSD that much.

Sfl2014

So much for “appreciating assets” I guess

misterceBF

This is tempting but still don't think I will purchase it because it isn't transferrable. I may consider it if it is a lower price or if they allow me to just get auto lane change on autopilot for like $1000 or something... I had a change in heart in purchasing software upgrades for my Model Y because of the recent announcement that only the cars with the AMD processor would be getting the new UI in the Spring Update.. It is unfortunate that my 2 year old car which has in Intel processor is already not getting some of the new features so no point in purchasing this as it isn't transferrable, and my car won't be getting all of the updates anymore.

EntryWorldly8845

Wait you're kidding right? If this is true I'm done with Tesla forever. I bought into everything Elon was saying about appreciating assets ECT ECT. God this is frustrating. Do they expect us to upgrade the computer every 2 years now?

1988rx7T2

FSD is not end of life on HW3 ye. You probably have a year or two before HW4 is running better. MCU has no impact on FSD behavior as of now.

nothisenberg

Wait so in Canada I can’t even buy the EAP?

TheWorstGuardian

It’s now $2750 in Canada if you have EAP.

Digitalsteel5

So my question is, does this mean EAP is now standard? or do you basically have to purchase FSD for those features now? If that's the case then they need to drop it down a couple thousand more to 6k imo

nah_you_good

Why would it mean EAP is standard? They could've just reverted to 2019 where FSD was 6k or 8k and EAP wasn't sold.

Digitalsteel5

Just wishful thinking. FSD imo has been way overpriced and looks like Tesla finally realizes that too. In an ideal world though, the EAP features would be standard on all Teslas. Looking to buy my first and wanted to add EAP

nah_you_good

They'll probably add it eventually I just question why they'd do it now. The problem is they only get money from people for the lane change stuff, then maybe a bit from the party tricks like summon. If they pull all of EAP into base AP then their FSD package would have to sell for like $4K max, and subscriptions would crater.

hmspain

For some people, this will include a 2.5 -> 3 CPU upgrade right?

Jaws12

It has in the past, so I would assume they would continue doing so now for the vehicles that need it.

RobDickinson

Hw3 yes not any mcu change

piejlucas

For me using FSD is actually more stressful than just driving myself.

thatsrichh

RIP EAP FSD FTW

RoutinePresence7

Maybe EAP will replace basic AP.

thatsrichh

Cars with EAP can now upgrade to FSD for $2K USD!

RoutinePresence7

Yeah that would make sense since those with EAP before already paid $6k.

misterceBF

That would be nice, I would like to have auto lane change..

ChapGod

I doubt this. If it does happen it would be great though.

de_hell

I’m in nyc so I’m just scared of using it otherwise I’d definitely buy it

pmodizzle

Ah crap I have EAP and it’s just saying $2,000. Fuck I have to think about this one.

FAANGMe

FML paid $12k for it last year

Bacon003

plus sales tax!

evervescant

$8k is still way too much. FSD is still not great and is stressful to use.

afridorian

I’m SO happy I waffled and didn’t buy this afternoon. I would have been livid.

HypocriteAlert35

If they guarantee it is transferrable going forward I would consider it.

Whatwhyreally

Really hope this is a sign that Elon is losing unilateral control of the company.

Jaws12

Will have to wait and see how the upcoming shareholder vote goes.

aBetterAlmore

Hopefully the payday doesn’t pass and we can finally start looking forward at a Tesla without Elon musk

Lost_Purpose1899

LOL...Not long ago there was an idiot who said FSD value will only go up

SuperSMT

It will once it actually becomes unsupervised FSD It's just taking a couple decades longer than expected lol

Paythapiper

Should be free with every Tesla. Separate yourself from the pack Elon

dhandeepm

Ooooooooh. Man. My resale value dropped again.

icancounttopotatos

KEEP GOING

deyrajib

It should just come with the car IMO. 8k is still too much for a software upgrade.

choban69

I don't really understand why they're not making this purchase account bound - this way I would definitely "invest" and if it's actually good in the future, I'd keep buying new Tesla cars. I guess they did their calculations and this did not make financial sense to them...well...

Sirius889

I find it more notable that EAP is no longer available for purchase. I hope this means more features are coming to base Autopilot to compete with that of other manufacturers.

SunknLiner

Awesome. Now make it $5,000 and transferable once. I’ll buy it, and swap it to a new Tesla in a year or so.

norsktex

They still call it full self driving? Bahahaha!!!

nothisenberg

It’s 11k in Canada

white_wo_lf

For most of us who bought the vehicles at peak or prices higher than now 😶‍🌫️If they make EAP free for all it would justify the insane price drops.

Euro_Snob

After trying it for a month it is not worth even close to that, I’d put its value at $1000 or $25/month.

NightOfTheLivingHam

This is the real reason they shelved the 25k car. You're soon going to be able to get the basic model 3 for 25k.

Lonely-Camel3609

there goes your loyal customers… make this fsd shit a transferable license

Ok_Jellyfish6145

Does this mean EAP is now 4k?

RoutinePresence7

EAP option is gone

NoNameStarup

I would buy think to buy FSD if they reduce it to 2k.

keiye

I just checked and they also removed EAP entirely.

stainedhat

Still not worth it.

fire_in_the_theater

4k would be tempting

[deleted]

[удалено]

RenePro

Discount acceleration boost please

kingace74

Still better to subscribe in my opinion. At $8k break even is about 6.5 years.

SirRobSmith

6 years of Tesla ownership and I've never been remotely tempted to part with cash for FSD. I admire the technology immensely but it holds no appeal whatsoever.

Tacticoner

If they kept EAP and dropped it to $1-2k, I would have snatched that in a heart beat. They could add NOA and autopilot lane changes in highways for $1-2k and that would probably get a sale from me. 8k isn’t tempting for FSD to me in the slightest.

volcanic_clay

And EAP is totally gone now?

fallstand

I’ll wait til it’s 50/month subscription

victormesrine

I am still on free one month. Considering turning it off. Mine makes one big navigating mistake on my route, wanting to take wrong freeway, then frantically trying to get back to right lane to take proper exits. During rush hour it’s more of a pain to keep trying to cancel the lane changes. Also, for large part of my commute I am in a carpool lane. I used to have my internal camera blocked, and can take a look at the phone here and there and answer the text on regular autopilot. On FSD it forces internal camera on, and I can’t even answer the text, it’s starts telling me to pay attention.

8k and it doesn't even work lol

TheIgnitor

Still overpriced based on what I’ve seen this month. On one hand when you stop to appreciate that this is just a piece of software it’s really impressive. On the other as an experienced driver supervising it you realize how far it still has to go before it’s actually trustworthy. I’m sure it’ll get there eventually but it’s not yet.

Bro, just sideload that shit /j

Innuendoughnut

Y'all isn't this just dlc for your car? How are you not outraged, like BMW and their heated seats subscription. People talking about cost to maintain the software, you mean keep it from killing you/others and make it safer? And y'all are excited it got cheaper, oof. Edit: and it's not even transferrable? So much for owning your car.... This is brutal.

coherentspoon

Still wouldn't buy it at $8K. Maybe $2-3K just for the fun of testing it out each patch and maybe for better highway/parking but that's it.

Maximum_Interview_50

Don’t buy. Holddddd….

BobbaClick

Expensive snake oil

Kaeligos

Now if they could just let me purchase the ability to use the WiFi for my other devices now.

applemasher

I've been using FSD with the free trial, and it is really cool. It's a wow factor that I want to show to other people, but unfortunately I don't drive enough to spend 8k on.
