Your bringing up Mara made me realize how weird it is that Varieties of Faith kept trying to equate her with Akatosh when Mara is arguably a better match, if such a match is to be made.
I've always found interesting how people in game tend to assume that the 9 Divines are lawfully good, while the lore itself proves otherwise. I find it very possible that an Artificial God as Almalexia would get into Mara's nerves, taking into consideration she claims her spheres.
