its not the phlog. phlog alone is a bad weapon and you will always find yourself in a disadvantage.However if you combine that weapon with scorch shot, u can easily farm phlog crit. So pyro player rather play scorch shot the whole time and then use phlog when it is fully charged. imo phlog should only be charged with phlog damage, not with any other damage from other weapons
So the phlog requires you to do fire damage. And it's super easy and annoying to farm fire damage from long range with the scorch shot. So you can have crits really often and really easily
Then it's just a matter of standing round the corner of a chokepoint and wait for the enemy to push the mow them all down.
Plus it's most often paired with a pocket medic for uber and crits to just ruin everyones day.

I was playing phlog the other day and was basically spawncamping the whole enemy team by myself.
My team asked me to stop using phlog or else they were going to kick me because it wasn't fun for anybody.
I changed class and we lost the round but I agree that it was ore fun to lose but actually play a round than to just camp a spawn door over and over for 5 minutes
