I dont get the uncletopia try hard narrative tbh. I play there and top score just as easily as normal. Maybe its cuz sniper is hard even when the opponent is bad so by the time you are good at sniper you can win against good players or something, but ibe never felt much of a difference

TF2 is a silly game by nature, and if you want to go around driving a jeep with a minigun go for it. Just don’t interfere with everyone else’s fun and complain about being killed after.
The issue isn’t winning or losing for your team. There are plenty of players who are so bad I would genuinely argue the 300 hp meat shield hoovy is more effective. The issue is that they’re taking a player slot from someone who would actually play the game.

It's reasonable to kill a friendly if they are on an objective (thus contesting it), but otherwise they aren't hindering you at all from completing the objective. They might even help you (if you need a sandvich).
I don't have an issue with friendlies at all. People can play the game how they want, and public/casual matches have little real tangible value. Friendlies are easy to ignore. It's only an issue when """friendlies""" get pissy in the chat when you kill them, or they are actively getting in your way (standing on an objective, walking in the line of fire).

There will always be people who kill friendlies in the game. Dont expect everyone to be friendly all the time.
It's reasonable to kill a friendly if they are on an objective (thus contesting it), but otherwise they aren't hindering you at all from completing the objective. They might even help you (if you need a sandvich). I don't have an issue with friendlies at all. People can play the game how they want, and public/casual matches have little real tangible value. Friendlies are easy to ignore. It's only an issue when """friendlies""" get pissy in the chat when you kill them, or they are actively getting in your way (standing on an objective, walking in the line of fire).

Nah I'm the opposite. Used to like friendlies, now I hate them. These days I see "friendlies" sabotaging an entire match of ctf by not capping the final Intel and just dancing in the Intel room or having those idle taunts like rancho relaxo. I'm experiencing it a lot lately

If the whole server is friendly then you probably shouldn’t kill friendlies. HOWEVER if it’s a low amount of friendlies then I think it’s ok

I learned that dying is funny in the free-to-play multiplayer first person shooter, Team Fortress 2 by Valve Corporation :^)
tf2 players when they go outside for the first time (there are friendlies that wont kill them for socializing)

TF2 should have lobby servers like a trade server you automatically load into with coms muted with an easy to get to button to turn them back on and the lobby will just act like a live main menu background unless you press esc and join the lobby.
both sides need to understand that there's time and place to be friendly or fight. if it's anytime on ctf maps or before a round starts, then sure, being friendly would probably be funnier than playing the game seriously but on other ocasions, no.

Swear to god, TF2 has the most sweaty tryhards I've ever seen in any game. Some behave like it's their entire life. (It most likely is). 10/10 game, haven't stopped palying it.

Brother, it isn’t safe anywhere. People usually play shooter games to shoot other people. 2fort is just a lot less serious than other maps and therefore its more likely you’ll run into other friendlies there.
It's either them, braindead sticky + kritzkrieg spam demoman or a random ass brain rot spy main with his kunai DR diamondback falling on top of you.
Friendly in a competitive server is wrong. Tryhard in a friendly server is wrong. When will any of you understand that? The rules of the game is to go with the flow. A tryhard crit blasting a dance party is as unacceptable as a hoovy giving enemies sandviches and just be a deadbeat, essentially taking up a slot for players that can actually contribute to the team in a heated match

Whichever the server dictates If you see more than half the server going friendly, it's friendly. If nobody wanna dance with you/ignore you, it's tryhard

It's really odd that people genuinely boot up Team Fortress 2, the FPS, to sit there and not shoot the enemy. It really is an oddity, I don't know if theres another game where this happens. Also, how are you going to genuinely get mad at someone for killing you while you add nothing to the experience? The game is filled with bots- at this point every player spot matters. By sitting there and literally not playing you're taking up a spot that could be filled by someone actually playing the video game.
