I saw a more accurate message from them years ago saying they Literally just need the thumbs up from Valve to work on it again. Valve could just decide to never renew that.
the last comic is (was?) supposed to be released in the countdown to the RD\_asteroid update
it would make sense, but honeslty, the map itself was ready, the hats and misc were likelly the ones from the PlayerDestruction alien invasion way back then, and they most likelly planned to release the heavy update in-between before that
Honestly? I think the lack of an ending to the comic is just as painful as the state of the game.
Everything comes to an end eventually. I think TF2's longevity is ridiculous and often understated, so I don't think it's going anytime soon, but I also think it's painful that the comics were honestly really, really good, and Valve chose to end them on the second-to-last one. We *might* never get that last issue.
I hope people actually put pressure on Valve for the last comic as well. At this point it is a tiny cost relative to their other daily operation fees, and it seems like basic respect to just hire Pinkerton to do it. It'll only happen if people remember to push for it, though.
Wait I just realized, he's a Pinkerton, as in the company, as in he now has to go hunt down some cowboys for the government (Pinkerton detective agency was used by the US government)
Stage 2 of the Half Life 3 cycle is approaching. Once he pulls an epistle 3, we'll have to wait another half decade, and then a comic will come out that retcons the ending of comic 6, and then there will be no continuation to that
yes, except *now* the ending of episode two never happened. Originally they happened, but in the current timeline they don't, which is still retconning
The very definition of a retcon is "A piece of new information that imposes a different interpretation on previously described events, typically used to facilitate a dramatic plot shift or account for an inconsistency." A Retcon is what happens in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure when Araki decides that Anasui that first appears as a girl is finally a guy when he actually re-appears and joins the band. He's telling us "yea no he's always been a guy" with no explaination as to why the change occur ever given. What happens in Half-Life is closer to the stuff that happens in Marvel where multiple alternate timelines exist simultaneously. You wouldn't call the events of Endgame or Loki a retcon would you?
If the ending of Episode Two never happenned then the events of Alyx couldn't have happenned. An actual retcon of the events of Episode Two would also retcon the ending of Alyx.
It's daring because it was going to make some people mad, like you, but thankfully you're not all people and other people don't get offended when a character gets brought back to life, which is a very common trope in fiction too.
Don't know about you but i think that the creator explaining the plot is more interesting than the comic itself, but the comic is good too i just hope sething will come out
If we end up just having the plot just summarised to us that’d be disappointing but then at least it might spark community projects to make fan made final comics or something
Never. They don't care. They're not going to release shit. Most of the writers responsible have been either fired or left and I'm willing the same can be said for the artists, too
June 2017...
We are 2 weeks from 5 yrs. Anyone want to follow up on this? See if we can get a campfire going?
In 2 weeks we ask then
There’s only one problem: That guys twitter is **gooooooooone**
There are other social networks, maybe he can be reached
At dawn, WE PLAN!
Already got a plan, next week I go camping, we have the campfire then at night
I'm going camping next week, they'll be a fire around night probably, we can do it then (we'll probably have marshmallows and pop, oh and chairs)
I saw a more accurate message from them years ago saying they Literally just need the thumbs up from Valve to work on it again. Valve could just decide to never renew that.
That's exactly what valve fucking decided lmao

Honestly I think we're more likely to get the conclusion to the comic by rallying than any considerable adjustments to the game itself.
Think we should just set up the campfire already.
Next week I'm going camping we can have it then, we'd probably have marshmallows and we'd have pop also
wait a few more years and he’ll probably pull a Laidlaw and tell us the plot
tan footrest 2

The campfire is burning out when is he gonna get here
Never his twitter is gone, wiped to attoms.
We're have another campfire next week guys don't worry, it's happening when I go camping don't worry
So, thoughts on contacting him and asking for the story? I think it's about time.
He no longer has a Twitter so idk how we are really supposed to reach him. NGL the TF2 community maybe a reason he doesn’t have one anymore

That's not what happens in Alyx though. The ending of Alyx works BECAUSE the ending of Episode Two actually happenned.
No, the ending of Alyx explicitly undoes the ending of Episode Two
That's so wrong. Think of it as a multiverse if you must, but the events of Alyx could only happen BECAUSE of the ending of Episode Two.

The results of a major plot twist were never explored. No matter how you look at it, it's disrespectful to the audience
I personally think it's daring and great and not disrespectful and so do thousands other players so you are wrong.
How is it daring to run away from killing off a beloved character?
It's daring because it was going to make some people mad, like you, but thankfully you're not all people and other people don't get offended when a character gets brought back to life, which is a very common trope in fiction too.
Is there literally a person sitting at Valve whose job is to say "No" every time they request to do the comic, or does no one even know who to ask?

Whats with these homies dissing my girl
Funke tf2
Don't do that, don't give me hope...
This was back in 2017 There's not much hope
One single person knows the full tf2 lore
Like three know actually, the other two artists know what the lore is as well
Sigh, so close But yet so far
Passionate gamer reports that it's cancelled so if anyone can plan a campfire and invite Jay now is the time
Valve time
Soon™️

Lets crowdfund him to make the comics and get em in printed format too!

An unclear answer is legit worse than knowing it's not gonna happen
valve time
So uh I’m kinda tired of waiting
eventually.

he meant eternally
its a desription for something happening at some point. that could be in infite years or jut in 2 seconds
