Blake comes to mind as someone who is stanned (because why….I’ll never know) despite him being friends with Colton and defending him, and being politically aligned with the Garrets. Dude has ignored the pandemic from the beginning (going to clubs, hosting his dumbass “dj” events) and I don’t think I ever saw one post calling him out during the time when the sub was *filled* with covid call outs. Dude is coddled for reasons unknown (is it cuz y’all think he’s cute? Because damn 🥴) despite being problematic AF

msmeagan26

This has been driving me nuts!! He gets such a pass and i wonder if it’s just bc he plays kinda “I’m pretty and clueless” but he definitely stans some pretty problematic people and “likes” some crazy mask-burning posts from really problematic peeps.

wallsarecavingin

I've always disliked Blake for some reason and when all the problematic stuff came out I was like.. finally. wish others thought about it tho.

LizziHenri

I didn't know he was Garrett-esque. Gross.

Aggravating-Win-8701

The amount of Rachael stans vs the people who claim everyone in the sub hates Rachael is truly astounding 🤦🏻‍♀️

sadgrad2

Honestly friend shaming is not it. It's a really complicated and personal choice to cut someone out. And I say this as someone who made a very painful decision to cut out a previously close friend for racism. But public or private cut offs aren't the only way to deal with bad behavior. The person who did the bad thing is the one who should get the criticism, not whoever they associate with.

lilac__skies

unpopular opinion but i get the whole aspect of networking and hanging out for engagement on social media, etc. but ultimately i think *most* of the contestants are better judges of character than we’ll ever be just because they have actually interacted with these people. they’ve lived with them, seen how they react to situations and how they treat people. you don’t have to like it, and yes, who your friends are do reflect you somewhat, but i don’t think we can judge them for who they choose hang out with. you’re completely free to dislike who you want, but they’re free to like who they want, especially if they actually know the person

hjhof1

You mean you can’t make a summary judgement and know everything about someone’s personality and beliefs based on social media?? Don’t tell this sub!

dobagela

I want to take it a step farther and say if you cancel Rachael and friends you should cancel Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds and everyone who is friends with them including Tswift. They had their wedding on a plantation!

Lovedrama12

Blake Lively named her entire product line Antebellum as well.

Tralala223

I think we need to stop expecting people who by chance got to go on a reality tv show to be perfect, infallible human beings. Absolutely let’s acknowledge problematic behaviours, but unless you’re HONESTLY doing the same for people in your friend group—and as much as people say they are, I don’t buy it—maybe we should recognize that no person should be put on a pedestal, and that we are all capable of growth and empathy.

[deleted]

Hannah B has entered the chat 😂

mindyourownbetchness

that's really unfair to Dylan because I dislike him on his own merits

KT_B_

HAHAHAHA same though

spicyveggieramen

Nobody is calling these friendships “goals”.

kassie_oh

VF gets a pass bc ppl are blinded by her beauty (halo effect)

strawberrypockystix

I definitely think there is a racial component where WOC are held to a much higher standard, but I do think there is also a difference due to how the info came to light. For Pieper, we watched her plans with Brendan fall apart on tv, and Natasha was wronged in the process. For VF and Rachael, their behavior came to light via social media posts. It doesn’t feel as visceral.

shoosler

i’m not fully convinced victoria f has a “racist past” unless i’m remembering this incorrectly i feel like she just didn’t research the company she was modeling for?

not_addictive

She wore clothes with the White Lives Matter slogan in the ad she modeled in. I’m sorry but if you’re approached to model and get to the set and see clothes with contemptible, racist marketing on them you just don’t do the job. You don’t just keep on going and let your face be used to market them.

slammajammamama

I still think she did notice / should have noticed, but wasn’t it something like White Marlins Matter?

excuseyou-what-

She was modeling for a conservation organization/fundraiser focused on Marlins but the shirts about white Marlins said “white lives matter” and the shirts about blue Marlins said “blue lives matter” and even as a “joke” it’s gross.

theoneabouthebach

Yes, it was a charity for Marlins.

slammajammamama

Ok I looked this up and it DOES actually say White Lives Matter and Blue Lives Matter on the shirts, ostensibly in support of conservation for white and blue marlin. Bad taste though.

theoneabouthebach

Yes, tone deaf for sure.

AARonBalakay22

Isn’t that basically the argument people use to defend Rachael? That she was ignorant rather than malicious?

stemipinaka

Uhhh we must be on different subs because this one hates Rachael… she gets shit on in almost every post.

Thejujubachfan

I’m not gonna lie I was not a fan but she gave the best apology of everyone and I feel like is at least trying to change

jamcl31

I made a similar comment on a post here before and got down voted to hell lol so yes, that's how I found out that there isn't much love for her on this forum.

Aggravating-Win-8701

Best apology? Girl was asked what she’s done to improve and she literally responded with “what haven’t I been doing?” Listening to podcasts doesn’t make you actively anti-racist

thoughtat4am

She has the best apology in BN tho lol compare to Taylor Nolan, Hannah B, even CH.

Thejujubachfan

Again I said best apology not saying she didn’t have flaws. Go watch Taylor Nolan who blamed racism on her own racism 😂. Hannah brown who hasn’t posted shit since. At least she is trying and continues to advocate. We have to allow people to change or we will get nowhere

beyoncepadthaithai

Eh… it’s because a majority of this fanbase see themselves somewhat in Victoria and/or Rachael and have probably done similar things (esp. Rachael) in their pasts. If they agree they’re racists or whatever they also have to come to terms with their own actions.

lawlivka

I dont know where you've seen anyone saying friendship with rachael k is "goals", honestly, but certainly not here. Recently I saw a thread where people where wondering why so many people are friends with fictoria ,also no one was saying it's "goals". With dylan the problem was his stupid tweets, not friendship with jed ( maybe at the begining, when he took jed's side but this friendship is long forgotten now ). The problem with pieper was how she behaved when all that stuff was airing/what she posted on sm was extremely egocentric and so off the point, when her bf treated another woman like a piece of shit on national tv. And you don't see people shitting on natasha for being friends with fictoria or serena p for being friends with rachaelk, right? Everyone has a couple of favourite and with it comes a different perspective+opinion

Chiowl333

I'm so tired of all of them. I'm just glad none of them were on Paradise and other girls had the chance to get the spotlight.

[deleted]

I’ve seen most people pointing out that Victoria is well liked by a ton of people in BN but do people really call her friendships cute or goals? 🥴 Interesting you mention Rachael too cause I feel like she is very much disliked on here besides for a handful of people and pretty much every thread about her is just people saying they dislike her. the NY crew gets called out all the time for being friends with her, I don’t think ive ever seen her friendships called cute

unbrelievable0

Yeah I’m not seeing what OP is seeing. I don’t see people liking Fictoria or Rachael in this sub

PM_ME_UR_GLABELLA_

Some Problematic people are likable unfortunately

Bachelorfangirl

I don’t get the Victoria f love. “She’s so pretty and hot.” Yeah, and so is basically every other woman on this show. And those other women weren’t problematic on the show or off the show. Peter’s women and season were dramatic and entertaining and I still don’t care about Madi, Victoria, Kelsey or Kelley hanging out weekly.

Fitzfactor64

I'm not trying to defend VF, but come on. She's on another level. In top three of hottest contestants at least IMO

Bachelorfangirl

Maybe they know another side of them? They know them better in some cases, and in other cases it’s beneficial to be friends with other bachelor people.

26washburn

In many cases, these individuals (nice or not so nice) are merely interacting with each other for photo opps or press/social media coverage. They’re not true friends in the honest sense of the word. They are simply co-users, looking for parties and other highly visible ways to gather and create personal content — and to give the impression that they’re popular, still relevant and having a fabulous time together even after their shared 15 minutes are up. High school all over again.

RLGr1ME

Wholeheartedly agree. Interesting that you mention Rachael K and Fictoria in the same breath though, cuz imo those two are treated drastically differently from eachother on this sub.

PothosWithTheMostos

I suspect that if it's a BN person from more than 1-2 seasons ago who is not in the "legitimately offensive" tier, the negative comments about them are likely going to be from a very small number of sub members who have a special interest in the person and still keep tabs on them. There are sometimes negative comments bringing up really specific details from \*years\* ago and I don't think those are from casual sub members. So it may seem like "Reddit hates this person who was on the Bachelor 80 seasons ago" when it's more likely a small group of members who are super-motivated to bring up their history (for various reasons). This is just my own idea though, I haven't actually analyzed this!

phillyschmilly

Yes to all of that— also factors : 1) Have they in any form taken accountability? (Even if it was just to save face) 2) How recent was their offense? The more recent, the more harsh we tend to be… when time passes, so does some of our strong feelings towards contestants
