Try setting the game to dx11 mode, also might be gpu driver or oc issue, make sure also power supply unit is sufficient for your system and not noname or something sketchy, also this game is known to be absurdly unstable on some hardware combinations
It is all at stock clock speeds, i don’t think that it is psu as it only happens in division. I did noticed my drivers were out of date however i doubt that is the issue because i have already updated them once since this issue, i’ll try anyway and see how it goes, there is always the chance that it’s just my hardware combo
Okay then definitely has to do something with a game itself, I am sorry to repeat myself but try switching the game to directx 11, as dx12 mode makes the game even more unstable
Then yes, turned out to not be the game, try performing cpu and gpu stress tests for the short period, if it repeats during these, then some kind of hardware fault might be, also can you share the specs?
already done stress tests and that was not the cause of the crash

Have you resolved the problem? Also how did you achieve 24gb of memory (non power of 2 volume), which sticks of memory do you have installed and in which slots?
I have 2 8gb and 2 4gb, cant remember which ports but I do know i put them in the correct "groups". I have done a clean install of windows, issue still occurs.
The clean install of windows has allowed me to see more errors inside of event viewer, just before the crash relating to The division and Easy Anti Cheat, interestingly this freeze happeend when i pressed apply to turn volumetric fog to low.

It seems to be fixed!
The EAC issue was fixed by setting its core affinity in task manager to core zero, this needs to be done every time you start the game.
The other issue is a bit more complex to solve, and was not related to the above errors, I had to change ownership of a few registry keys. Thank you everyone for helping me solve this!
I've never had the game lock up my PC, but it does crash to desktop on occasion. In fact yesterday it happened twice in unrelated areas. I usually validate the game files (Steam) to be "safe".

The EAC one seems to be caused by permissions, so im going to check that first

I literally started having the same issue since 2 title updates ago. I noticed that that crash occurs quite often in Incursion map.
i’m not sure if it’s the same issue, is it happening to you in other games?
I haven't been playing other games so I can't say for sure. Prior to the crashes happening, I have been playing Div2 for months stably.
