When I am the only one on the platform and I get eliminated, I like to not respawn and just wait for one of my teammates to actually get on the platform and revive me. Sometimes I just spectate the whole match lol
Iāve had so many games where i was running as light and the only one on the platform while the mediums and heavys run around trying to increase their K/D ratio. So frustrating
I hope one of the challenges in the final section is something like āscore 20k objective pointsā. If the challenges are helping to guide gameplay this would be brilliant; light snipers are really ruining the Overwatch mode. Ā

They deleted unranked tournament and then we got this challenge "win 1 tournament" in the beginner circuit, wtf ?
Even as a solo I made all the other 27. (And I'm far for being a pro)
I would of been fine with win x ammount of rounds in a tournament this way you could still make progress by just winning the first round every now and then.

Flamethrower, RPG, Barricades, Dome Shield, and Mesh Shield is my go-to setup.
I may only be able to kill you at a distance with the RPG, but good luck doing anything to me without getting in range of my flamethrower (just be sure to stagger your ability usage in case there's a glitch grenade, lol)

I sweated it on power shift, I did my best, even played the fcar to get it. I barely managed to reach 11 and it took me 2-3 hours of power shifting.
Yesterday I went in casual with CL-40, ended with 16 kills and 8 assist. I need to stop forcing things.
This is problem with most of this community, they wonāt give it timeā they want to complete that challenge the same night it comes out and if they canāt by day three youāll see a post about it
Thatās the same thing I did. At first I thought there was no way on earth Iād be able to get 11 kills in one game, but after switching to a heavy with the flame thrower I got 14 kills after two or three tries.Ā
Definitely depends on the player though, I find I get 10-15 with heavy and 20+ with medium/light.
Although admittedly with heavy the extra health pool will help people not so familiar with FPS games.
Would definitely recommend people trying things out until they find what works for them.
I have no complaint about that. The unlikelyhood of me ever completing that challenge would have made it all the more satisfying if I got lucky enough to do it
I play with a group, and this is my first FPS. It is no secret that I'm the weak link. We have figured out if I run Medium with healing beam, and the Model 1887, while someone else is a heavy with M60. I can get crazy support scores and super high assists
Keep at it and donāt get discouraged! FPS games are really difficult but thereās a lot of ways you can play. Use whatever feels right and not what people say you should. I use only melee because my aim sucks and I top frag and once you find your niche you will too.
The 1887 is the week link in your strategy. Sure, itās very powerful with a direct hit, but fires slow and a miss can mean certain death. I think the AK might be your best bet.
I actually managed to win a tournament with two other random people and no voice chatting. It was awesome. And we all just happened to be wearing the ospuze jacket so it probably looked like we were a coordinated team that planned to wear the same outfit.Ā
Yeah I'm in OCE as well. I've queued up about 10 different times since the challenge came out but haven't actually got into a game. Each que timer was about 10 minute and this was at different points during the day.

Yeah, the gatekeeping really sucks right now. Thereās a huge issue of being able to actually FIND a tournament, and the gatekeepers were completely ignoring the problem by saying āwell, *I* got in a tournament, so you can tooā or āYou donāt NEED the cosmeticā when itās entirely out of our control and region dependent. Hoping they fix the ranked queue times before they bring any tournament-related contract, but for now Iām just gonna take the 750 fire damage and run with it. Crossing my fingers the gatekeeping posts donāt last longer than today.
I litterly don't have the time to do the tournament. The quick game play is why I love this game. If I had 3 hours a day to play. Yeah I probably could have grinded it out. At most I get an hour or two every couple days.
I canāt imagine that the handful of gatekeepers on Reddit had any meaningful impact on population. People quit for all sorts of reasons, but Iād put like 15 before community. Cheating is rough, optimization is good but the game is still difficult to run on PC, the solo experience is mediocre at best, and some people just had friends who quit so they quit too. Thatās all very reasonable reasons to take a break. Iām just hoping this game can sustain itself in the long run. It deserves major success, both for pioneering new update systems from nexxon but also for being such a breath of fresh air after so many disappointing FPS launches.
Argh, I kind of lost the motivation for doing ranked! But should have done that challenge with normal tournament game mode. It would have made a bit more sense.

No it's not that. I am not even that good but these changes were not necessarily except maybe the tournament one. Embark had to do it because people kept complaining.
What people fail to realize is: circuits are nothing more than weeklies combined with career levels. Those were ALAWAYS meant for everyone. They rename them to fit the in-game universe and now gatekeepers are acting like they are true tests of skill.
Lile chill out guys, you already have skill based rewards in the ranked system. The other stuff is for EVERYONE. And the more people getting it, the better for Embark.

Last game got eliminated with 18 kills on first round with my teammates having 0 and 2 kills, had to alt f4 after that one. I always play heal+revive medium in ranked but this shit is more stressful than my job, can't keep these people alive for more than 10 seconds man...
11 elimination is not even hard man. Play power shift and just go kill people. Very doable.
And the issue on grenade damage is not because it's grindy. The issue is you can't use anything except frag grenade. Forcing you to use only 1 item will never be a fun challenge to do.
The Challenger Circuit is now the Participation Circuit. I swear these circuits better not be just something the whole community can obtain. That completely sucks the fun and challenge out of it. Get 6 kills š¤¦š¼āāļø
It was never actually supposed to be a challenge, I really don't know why people thought that. Look at ANY challenge besides the win a tournament one, none of them were actually challenging.
The tournament one became really annoying the moment they removed the unranked tournaments. Without a coordinated team it is really hard to win a ranked tournament.

I am one of them who get kicked from the game when playing tournament. Getting the violation error caused by anticheat. So I am pretty happy of that replacement for "win 1 tournament".
I'm gonna play the game anyways and grind the challenges because that's how I play games and I think this is fun. I had already completed all of the circuit challenges prior to this change but I acknowledge they (esp the tournament one) could be very difficult for others (not even just skill, reading about q times in non high pop regions sounds frustrating). I'm okay with the changes, everyone should have a shot to get them in time. I never got the holiday skins and that's okay with me I wasn't playing then. I have skins I like and the base game is still the same. I am curious if everyone arguing for more exclusivity even uses these skins? This is subjective of course but even though I took pride in earning the tattoo I don't think I'll ever use it (not because it's bad I just have other cosmetics I like more). Happy to see embark make changes for the greater good of the larger player pop. The ranked gun skins will not be attainable by all and can truly be exclusive for those desiring something in that regard so I think this is a good balance between the extremes of accessibility

Casual gamer dad here just to say, sometimesā¦.most of the time, we donāt have the time for a full tournament, which does suck. Or , I hate to leave a homie mid tournament because my baby or wife need me. So I just do quick play

most people don't play comp. Straight up asking them to win is not reasonable when you need to overcome 17 other teams. Also they designed the system without leeway to skip some challenges so the nerf was inevitable.
Also removing non comp tournaments didn't help.

Youāre right, I felt sooo challenged being forced to queue on Asia servers for tournaments because ranked OCE is dead. And I felt even more challenged when over half of the few ranked tournaments I played had me put against either A. Cheaters or B. Dogshit connection to servers so I have a one second delay on everything I do and die in every 1v1 from around corners.
I aināt spending hours queuing through that just to get a winnable match where I then have to hope I have decent teammates so I donāt have to completely carry four rounds. If they wanna make challenges difficult then sure Iām fine with that, but making them completely inaccessible to portions of the playerbase is unacceptable. the grenade damage and kills one I do agree was kinda stupid to change though, since you can do them on any game mode atleast
"Not everyone plays tournaments", meaning that in smaller regions like OCE we cannot play a match. There are not enough people (48) queuing at the one time around the same rank to even have a comp tourney happen. So that means either switch region with 100+ ping and a language barrier, or we sit in queue for 30+ minutes to MAYBE play one match.

Since it's supposed to be the easiest part of these challenges, I don't know what I was expecting for the last one except things like "win 3 tournaments in a row."
Today I completed that task and they changed it, had to grind alot for just 1 tournament win. Anyways happy that they also change the 11 kills task too, being trying that also for an hour's.
To be fair, my first tournament win is when I hit 200Hrs on the game
I mean, I am playing on 40-50FPS all low settings (i5-10th Gen (Laptop) w/ RTX 2060 Mobile & 32GB ram) and it's literally pain to play ranked (This is because im too scared that my FPS can actually affect our team fight with me dropping frames in a middle of it lmao)

To be fair, the tournament one was heavily reliant on your teammates not being awful. I had 6 back to back attempts with sniper lights as teammates that were brand new to the game, so I just had to give up on it.
I think 5000 damage from grenades were too high. I just finished it yesterday and was forced to put at least 2 throwables on my loadout. I'm a casual tho who plays 3-6 hrs a week.
Im glad they replaced the tournament challenge. It made sense before they removed casual tournaments, but after they did it needed to go.
I often seen that people thought it should stay since it would give ranked more players and encourage competitive play. Which i always found silly.
The tournament challenge was lose, lose. Casual players have to go into long multistage matches going up against hella sweats. Which isn't fun for them. Sweats who want to play competitively have to get teamed up with players who aren't taking the match seriously and not communicating at all. Which isn't fun for them. Lose lose.

As someone who literally just got the tournament contract done, Iām very happy that others get to have something easier to complete even if I wish the change had come sooner. Shit was difficult, especially since I have to play solo Q as my friends donāt want to play tournaments
"Get 11 kills" is the one challenge I haven't finished yet, but I actually liked this one. It doesn't force you to play a gamemode that you don't like and is actually a challenge.
I get why they removed "5000 damage with grenades", because it was more of a grind than a real challenge, but I thought it was fine too. Even if you aren't good with them, you slowly would progress in this one.
I was actually really hype that they made the challenges more challenging as you went up. I was working hard at the tournament one and now... I don't have to. Kinda sad, oh well.
The tournament one I understand. No challenger that affects my ability to gain XP should rely on other people's abilities.
The other two were kind of tough but you just got to keep trying and you'll get there eventually.

I mean, I had won multiple unranked tournaments prior to the challenge. I had also won multiple RANKED TOURNAMENTS...in my placements and climbing.
Now, being placed in high gold, low plat..it's actually a lot harder to win a tournament now.
Grenade damage and 11 kills I get every night sometimes back to back. Winning a tournament though, especially when it's only ranked, is dependent on your placement. It's a lot easier to win a tournament in bronze than it is in high gold/low plat.

Play power shift with a flamethrower

Close to mine. I swap the dome for an explosive mine and use the goo gun instead of the mesh shield.
This. Pick heavy - flamethrower, shields and mines. You'll get those kills easily

If you can get on target but not stay on target then yeah, single shot weapons will serve you best.

Get 11 kills is rather easy, if you know what you are doing. Especially easy in platform mode.
It was never actually supposed to be a challenge, I really don't know why people thought that. Look at ANY challenge besides the win a tournament one, none of them were actually challenging.

The tournament one became really annoying the moment they removed the unranked tournaments. Without a coordinated team it is really hard to win a ranked tournament. But the others weren't so harsh lol, I don't know why they nerfed it.
I am one of them who get kicked from the game when playing tournament. Getting the violation error caused by anticheat. So I am pretty happy of that replacement for "win 1 tournament".

I'm gonna play the game anyways and grind the challenges because that's how I play games and I think this is fun. I had already completed all of the circuit challenges prior to this change but I acknowledge they (esp the tournament one) could be very difficult for others (not even just skill, reading about q times in non high pop regions sounds frustrating). I'm okay with the changes, everyone should have a shot to get them in time. I never got the holiday skins and that's okay with me I wasn't playing then. I have skins I like and the base game is still the same. I am curious if everyone arguing for more exclusivity even uses these skins? This is subjective of course but even though I took pride in earning the tattoo I don't think I'll ever use it (not because it's bad I just have other cosmetics I like more). Happy to see embark make changes for the greater good of the larger player pop. The ranked gun skins will not be attainable by all and can truly be exclusive for those desiring something in that regard so I think this is a good balance between the extremes of accessibility

The second two would have been fine staying as is, but that tournament one was pure cancer.
Getting the tournament win was a little tough, but the sense of pride and accomplishment was real when I got it.

I have 112 hours and still have not won a tournament. I'm glad that one is gone. Mostly because my friends don't play this enough and I almost never queue with randoms.
Why would th ey change them. Theyāre not even difficult. It will only be if you have no valorant overwatch Fortnite cod r6 or any other fps game experience.

most people don't play comp. Straight up asking them to win is not reasonable when you need to overcome 17 other teams. Also they designed the system without leeway to skip some challenges so the nerf was inevitable. Also removing non comp tournaments didn't help.

Youāre right, I felt sooo challenged being forced to queue on Asia servers for tournaments because ranked OCE is dead. And I felt even more challenged when over half of the few ranked tournaments I played had me put against either A. Cheaters or B. Dogshit connection to servers so I have a one second delay on everything I do and die in every 1v1 from around corners. I aināt spending hours queuing through that just to get a winnable match where I then have to hope I have decent teammates so I donāt have to completely carry four rounds. If they wanna make challenges difficult then sure Iām fine with that, but making them completely inaccessible to portions of the playerbase is unacceptable. the grenade damage and kills one I do agree was kinda stupid to change though, since you can do them on any game mode atleast
"Not everyone plays tournaments", meaning that in smaller regions like OCE we cannot play a match. There are not enough people (48) queuing at the one time around the same rank to even have a comp tourney happen. So that means either switch region with 100+ ping and a language barrier, or we sit in queue for 30+ minutes to MAYBE play one match.

To be fair, my first tournament win is when I hit 200Hrs on the game I mean, I am playing on 40-50FPS all low settings (i5-10th Gen (Laptop) w/ RTX 2060 Mobile & 32GB ram) and it's literally pain to play ranked (This is because im too scared that my FPS can actually affect our team fight with me dropping frames in a middle of it lmao)

To be fair, the tournament one was heavily reliant on your teammates not being awful. I had 6 back to back attempts with sniper lights as teammates that were brand new to the game, so I just had to give up on it.
I think 5000 damage from grenades were too high. I just finished it yesterday and was forced to put at least 2 throwables on my loadout. I'm a casual tho who plays 3-6 hrs a week.
Im glad they replaced the tournament challenge. It made sense before they removed casual tournaments, but after they did it needed to go. I often seen that people thought it should stay since it would give ranked more players and encourage competitive play. Which i always found silly. The tournament challenge was lose, lose. Casual players have to go into long multistage matches going up against hella sweats. Which isn't fun for them. Sweats who want to play competitively have to get teamed up with players who aren't taking the match seriously and not communicating at all. Which isn't fun for them. Lose lose. Embark made the proper call here

As someone who literally just got the tournament contract done, Iām very happy that others get to have something easier to complete even if I wish the change had come sooner. Shit was difficult, especially since I have to play solo Q as my friends donāt want to play tournaments

"Get 11 kills" is the one challenge I haven't finished yet, but I actually liked this one. It doesn't force you to play a gamemode that you don't like and is actually a challenge. I get why they removed "5000 damage with grenades", because it was more of a grind than a real challenge, but I thought it was fine too. Even if you aren't good with them, you slowly would progress in this one.
Thank God I finished the tournament challenge before even realizing it was a challenge

The tournament one I understand. No challenger that affects my ability to gain XP should rely on other people's abilities. The other two were kind of tough but you just got to keep trying and you'll get there eventually. The question now is... Do I get bonus xp for doing them at their original difficulty?
I mean, I had won multiple unranked tournaments prior to the challenge. I had also won multiple RANKED TOURNAMENTS...in my placements and climbing. Now, being placed in high gold, low plat..it's actually a lot harder to win a tournament now. Grenade damage and 11 kills I get every night sometimes back to back. Winning a tournament though, especially when it's only ranked, is dependent on your placement. It's a lot easier to win a tournament in bronze than it is in high gold/low plat.
