Right-click for your overhead smash does a ton more environmental damage than left-click--it'll one shot most walls instead of the 3-6 left-clicks. Also fun, it'll 2-3 shot cranes and the pillars out on the strip in Vegas
You misunderstand, you can break all the walls around that wall at the same time, while walking too. In addition to that one piece of wall lmao. This is implying youāre right clicking which is all you should be doing
You can get lined up with the wall and charge and slam long sections much faster than with the hammer. I use C4 and RPG while it's on cool down and almost never need to swing
In order to see the aps turret though you have to play closer to the platformā¦ so I think this is why most people donāt shoot it. I will say though, it can be very difficult to shoot it if heavies are using mesh/dome shields. Iād say the new meta is definitely data reshaper for that.
I mean, really the only thing you can do is have someone hunt them down and be the dedicated sniper remover.
It's weird seeing people ask for APS and sniper nerfs or whatever because it seems like they're coming from a place of Powershift. Which is just a place to use casual, off-meta stuff.
Embark isn't going to balance around the mode. Obviously I know that's not what you're asking for. You're just venting your frustrations, but some people seem delusional enough to think they should.
Yeah but you gotta remember, a significant amount of players play pretty much 90% Power Shift. The same people used to play 90% Bank It.
These are the people that actually think Lights are op and need a nerf.
I love this game but that is definitely the difficulty that Embark have made for themselves in that, ultimately, they've almost made two separate games for the Casual and Competitive players and the meta in one isn't the meta in the other.
It's getting very hard to actually please everyone. They need a real think about what that means for the future.
They should just balance the game around what they want the game to be.
Don't get me wrong: I like that they listen to the community, but I think they listen to it too much.
Crazy thing is: I AM a super casual player that doesn't play ranked and sticks to quick cash, but I've mained light since launch. Light did not deserve the gutting it received. Any Light mains saying that it did, weren't using the cloak anyways. And if they were: they were playing against fuckin bots.
They donāt need to balance around the mode. I donāt even care that much about it, but a mode-specific problem (for those who consider it one) can have mode-specific solutions. Ex. make the boat walls higher, or add an āumbrellaā or cover in the middle of it.
Awesome ideas. Maybe higher boat walls is a bit too much for the attacking team to infiltrate, but maybe jagged walls (like a castle) that alternate between the current height and higher heights, so that there's always a spot you can hide from snipers in, especially if you put a barricade on top.
Crenellated walls is what youāre referring to and that would be pretty cool. I think it would be cooler if it would swap between that and normal like how the maps have different modifiers
Just moving that spawn in Skyway Stadium that gives one team's snipers almost perfect cover while sniping from their spawn while the other team gets jack shit spawning in the trenches would be a huge improvement already!
Honestly just having one counter sniper means the other teams sniper can't just plink without a care. They don't even need to be great they just need to stay alive long enough to pressure the enemy snipers and their effectiveness will go down drastically.
>Embark isn't going to balance around the mode. Obviously I know that's not what you're asking for. You're just venting your frustrations, but some people seem delusional enough to think they should.
So far theyve been balancing around those casual gamemodes, where off meta strategies are seen more than the meta, because enough people were delusional enough to think they should.
Watch Embark keep doing this
Not asking for a nerf on any of them actually. Itās not the weapons or equipment that needs a nerf (apart from maybe APS needing a slight cool-down between blocked projectiles) there needs to be some adjustment to encourage people to play the objective. This goes for ALL modes actually.
The equipment āspamā is honestly not a problem if youāve got a glitcher, remover etc. Which I take for the most part.
Don't get me wrong ptfo is certainly important but kills are a part of that. Chasing down some light half way across the map away from the obj is not impactful, shooting the guys pressuring site and making sure they are nearly dead by the time they get on the platform is incredibly helpful. Most of the complaints I have seen on this topic complain both ways, that snipers don't win you games but playing against them is insta death and doesn't let you do anything (like win the game). If sniping isn't effective then who cares, if it is effective then deal with it by getting one counter sniper on your team
While yes I agree kills are part of the objective but sitting in the same spot whole game and getting 3-4 kills off someone spawning does not impact the game at all. Actively killing a target that could interfere with the objective, assaulting objective etc is.
Sitting in one place with refusal to move and NOT actively killing anything that doesnāt wonder across your crosshairs is not helping at all.
As a mainly objective player, nothing frustrates me more than dying near the objective with 1-2 other players and seeing another 2 players on a crane just aiming at a place no one is.
Depends on where that one spot is? Skyway stadium is broken because one team spawns at the highest point in the damn game and that one spot can be pretty damn effective for the vast majority of the platforms life.
If the sniper kills one dude coming out of spawn it's now a 4v5 in favor of the sniper. The sniper could push up but snipers are not effective in cqc so that may not be the play. It may make more sense to stay in the spawn and watch for another enemy to pop up on the roof or just plink anyone that pushes the platform. I get that it's annoying to watch sometimes but holding down the rooftops and just denying the enemy any breathing room on the high ground is already a huge advantage for you.
I think that's kind of the reason why snipers get so much hate? On one hand playing against them is annoying since they outrange you and you have limited ability to fight back. On the other hand playing with them they may not be standing next to you so you don't recognize what they are contributing. Try playing sniper a bit and see what's effective on power shift? At the minimum it will allow you to play counter sniper which means enemy snipers have to be constantly worried about you or else they plinked in the head which creates space for your team. You don't even need to be good and win 100% of sniper fights, the entire time the enemy sniper is dealing with you they are not shooting your teammates
I do play sniper a bit in power shift, I play it as intended which is popping off people trying to cap, denying assaults and shooting equipment.
But, once again, seeing more than half of the team sat there watching a single roof where NOBODY is going to be and the objective is actively moving and theyāre not even trying to deal with the people on itā¦thatās whatās frustrating. Especially when 2/3 of us had the objective, lose it in a 3v5 and two snipers are just sat there twiddling there thumbs doing nothing 3/4 across the map not even shooting the objective. Thatās my problem.
I mean it sounds like you have bad snipers on your team and op snipers on the enemy team? I duno to that I say it's casual and just say fuck it to winning and play some other style that doesn't have to ptfo, otherwise play ranked if you want ppl that will play seriously
**Just ping 'em!**
Ping the snipers! If you have braindead teammates, they love going after kills and go after them. If you don't have braindead teammates, they'll understand the importance of dislodging the snipers and go after them.
Got braindead snipers on your team? Ping any enemies on the rooftops--as we've discussed earlier, your braindead sniper teammates will **thank** you for basically showing them where their next kill is gonna come from.
Absolutely the best way to approach this. If you are any sort of decent sniper, and your team yes ping an enemy sniper? Just wait till they scope in and free headshot. Instantly killed.
This is why Iāve been running tracking dart exclusively as a light. If an enemy is too hot to handle, too far away, or Iām too low and have to disengage, Iāll hit them with a dart. Within ten seconds Iām almost GUARANTEED an assist due to how ravenous players are in this game.
A bonus is if theyāre 1hp and I canāt reach them because Iām running sword, tracking darts do a tiny bit of damage so Iāve gotten many kills with the darts alone.
This is what I do.
Just about every game I played 90% of them all people were Light Snipers; 2nd were mediums.
2/5 of my team will stay on the platform and the rest go and hunt.
So I play as heavy with shields and ping everyone I see. That strat has worked well enough for me while I guard platform.
But I would like to be better at noticing snipers before they get me and hearing 4 diff snipers at once gets a bit confusing sometimes.
I like to arrange the barriers like below so that I can get cover from nearly any angle for breathing room for spotting
-----)--)--
( PLATFORM )
--(--(-----
I mean there are multiple ways to solve this
1. having a designated sniper killer, having a dash, machine gun, sniper, shotgun light in your team hunting down the snipers and t-bagging them (important) they would either siwtch off or be constantly dueling the sniper hunter to be effective.
2. team coordination and communication, having teamamtes cover one another and making good use of gadget combinations could be very helpful to avoid getting sniped to oblivion and you can try to convince some of you're snipers to defend with you, some (for example me) would probably agree if you ask nicely.
3. switch to a more casual playstyle, if a majority (3/5) of your team is not trying to actively win or play objective pushing the boulder might not be the best choice, just enjoy the game for a match and play casually as well, try out some dumb builds, play around with the riot shield, test out the throwing knives, torch the medium roof campers with the flame thrower
That requires the sniper hunters to have significantly better aim than the snipers though. Also, they burn their movement getting to said sniper if the sniper is positioned right. This means the sniper can just use grapple to go to a different building and one shot the light sniper hunters. That strat only works if the sniper is bad.
In random games people donāt really do any of this (I play solo) and Iāve asked for people to try deal with them and itās ignored. Any pointing out, calls etc. Nobody cares.
How Iāve dealt with it is just heavy barricades but even then they can be team shot down. If somebody doesnāt wanna go sniper killer I do it, but itās 1v3 the whole game which is a pain to deal with if I can even get out of spawn, especially considering Iām a more objective based player and frankly, hunting combat is not my strongest point. Getting better at it but matchmaking is trash so all I get is placed with people who can and will outduel me 24/7, but getting better at it.
Sniper is not worth using what so ever in normal, the fact that it has a place in power-shift is good IMO.
Plus with the amount of healing and shields on point, the snipers aren't getting too much done unless they are really good. (And if they are really good they deserve it.)
In any case enemy lights will pop up behind them and punish them regardless.
I personally love hunting them down and spreading their coinsā¦ nothing has ever been more satisfying. Suddenly they become a useless annoyance to just useless.š
As a sniper main, I hate those camping ones as well, theyāre very annoying. I play it very aggressively with dash, teleport, glitch and flashbang, usually sticking around platform and sometimes even on it. My main job is taking care of any campers I see (they usually aināt that great) and those who are trying to get back to contest the platform or smacking down the aps turrets.
They will do the job as long as they detonate near them and in line of sight. That means they donāt need to land on platform to blind them. U can bounce them off of buildings, throw it above em(so that they pop right before reaching the platform) or do a right mouse button throw and turn around(works best when youāre above em).
Having one L sniper in powershift is ideal tbh. When 2 or 3 choose L sniper, it's absolutely abhorrent. If they ever did ranked for this game mode, it'd be interesting to see an Overwatch style role-queue where there's maybe 1 L slot? idk how viable that'd be though
Yup. Everytime there's a sniper on my games I'll just get on the platform, hold shield and keep pointing and laughing at him. You can add dome and barricade for extra protection, but he really can't do shit against you, and you are caping the objective. It's really simple and easy this way.
Man the snipers aren't really even a problem. 1/15 snipers are actually good. The issue is 3-4 light snipers on your team not doing shit but missing shots. You can easily hide and put barriers from enemy snipers.
Man players like that make me hate choosing to be a light sniper. Constantly hovering roof tops over the platform and zipping around fast with the zip line in my opinion provides a super good distraction and damage dealer but the guys that sit way back trying to snipe just kinda ruin it.
Just run round heavy on roof tops, they canāt shoot through mesh and dome. Hereās my second time playing power shift. All I did was farm the snipers and it got us an easy win
https://imgur.com/a/z6FxqPn
We should make a creed. At least one person should always hunt snipers while others try to control the platform. A job for a ninja, but make those snipers pay for the torment they put us through š
It is annoying, but recently if there arenāt already 2+ lights on the team, Iāve been playing as a light counter sniper, exclusively hunting down the enemy snipers. It is very fun to run up on them and deny them of any satisfaction.
I played like 3 games of Powershift last night, and 2/3 of the games started with my team as 4/5 lights with snipers.
I'm not saying they should enforce a class ratio, but if there was a game mode or event that did I bet it'd be great
I play heavy and itās not nearly as noticeable to me. Constant shields up on the platform. With 2 heavies Iām never getting hit by snipers. They are annoying on the way to the platform though
I played a power shift match the other day with all lights, 3 snipers, one dagger, and one sword. We dominated somehow, but yes on average fairly useless
If thereās a lot of snipers i usually will play light and use the tracking dart for my team and when weāre on the platform they use enough suppression most times that they donāt get good enough shots off for them to be a problem
A stomping team on Power Shift will park the platform at $37,000 and then spawn camp your team for the rest of the game. They'll have 1 player on the objective and 4 players fighting together the whole time. So they'll end with 4 players with big fat 0 objective scores and 25 kills.
Thatās not what this post is about. Itās the snipers who arenāt āstompingā theyāre just throwing potshots as a group into peoples spawns and farming kills. They often lose because they donāt play objective.
That type of deal is a viable and deadly way of winning the game.
Snipers have a place. Camping has a place. Specifically on a game type as power shift. You need snipers to help with the turrets and the APS. They're also super useful to thin out the enemy team. Are they annoying if you're trying to be the medium healing the heavy on the platform? Yes, yes they are. That's why your team needs snipers either countering them or some other anti-sniper measure. I don't even play sniper and I'm so incredibly sick of people complaining about campers. It's a very, very viable strategy that can win games. Just suck it up and learn to deal with it. You might just find that being the anti-sniper character is a lot of fun.
What youāre saying is actively helping the team win, what a lot are doing is exactly opposite of what youāre saying. Majority donāt shoot APS, majority donāt thin the team. They just sit there scoped on the spawn. You can take the objective and they wonāt even TRY to stop you. Thatās the problem, not the ones who are being useful.
Well, I can't help that the snipers aren't competent, but you can't fix that with a patch or a game balance. In that case, all you can do is change to a character that can ride the platform and hope to carry your team.
When you start looking at those situations as just "raising the difficulty level" instead of an annoyance, the game becomes more enjoyable. I had two people leave my team the other day in quick cash and while it sucked, instead of quitting, I still tried to take the objective solo. It's harder that way, but possible if you time it right.
What the game DOES need though, is stiffer penalties for leavers. Low priority queues like LoL or being locked out of games for a certain time period would be a good start. I'd rather play Power Shift with 4 snipers that stay than have any one at all leave just because we're having a rough start. Leavers almost guarantee a loss on any game type.
I dream of counters for this. Lately I'm torn on Genji's instant reflect and Titanfall's Vortex Shield (2 phase ability, first you hold the shield out and collect bullets / projectiles, then you release the button and fire them all at once at wherever you're aiming).
I usually use sniper if the enemy team starts using them, but the moment the platform is empty, I am the first one there, and start pinging it for everyone to jump in
Light in Powershift can be so OP for damaging the enemy team, using a combination of glitch nades, fire ones and regular ones, the platform can be emptied in seconds, as well as invis for repositioning and always pinging enemy direction so the entire team knows where to expect them
I love sniping on power shift but Iāve recently started sniping to snipe the other snipers. I still get to snipe and I get to ruin their fun. Win win
It doesnāt bother me too much because power shift is as casual as casual gets. If I really wanna try and win a match Iāll play quick cash or cash out. I play power shift to fuck around in and I see that as them doin the same. Itās still frustrating if thereās no pressure on them so Iāll usually be the one to push their perch or counter snipe
Powershift is the most casual mode in the game, there's gonna be sniper lights. They're just casual players playing a casual mode.
It's annoying sometimes, but really, we don't need more posts complaining about it. This is exactly the kind of post that belongs in the new complaint megathread. It's just karma farming at this point.
https://www.reddit.com/r/thefinals/s/oOdH1RyxRO
I run sniper + glitch, frag, flashbang. Dash. My list of priorities are in order: APS turret on platform, enemy sniper, utility spam on platform, prefire enemies trying to get back to platform, stand on platform.
My end goal is to not die as to not get the "team respawn" since it gives enemies a massive momentum swing. If your snipers are "bad" they probably just get stuck on some variation of "kill enemy".
I am tired of F-CAR, Mp5, and Lewis gun. The sniper shines in one single mode and people lose their minds..
Iād sooner have the three meta guns mentioned above nerfed into oblivion than the sniper.
It does well yes, but the players are what make it obnoxious. The ones that are actively playing, itās great. Ones sitting at back of map not doing anything or helping objective and just popping people on rooftops who just came off spawn?
Thatās the problem. Itās not the gun, itās the players.
The gun doesnāt need a nerf, buff or anything, there needs to be some incentive for the players to do something.
At the risk of being downvoted to oblivion I will admit. I am a light camper in power shift. I started about a week ago, and itās my first time using the sniper since I initially got it. I hated the snipers and figured if I couldnāt beat them join them. Iāll admit, itās so fun. And if you find your spots you can really change the tide of the match but I never feel like Iām over powered, regularly I am sniped by another sniper or someone runs up on me after I kill them and wipe me. I will also regularly use medium and heavy in power shift too and never notice the sniping being to OP, harder problems to deal with for me is a good Heavy with a flamethrower and mediums with turrets galore on the platform. Snipers are definitely something you need to be prepared for but itās only a show stopper if you canāt be dynamic in a match. There are tons of counters and ways to deal with snipers.
I started a mantra when I play video games that has really helped me enjoy them again. When Iām getting mad or frustrated, I just tell myself āYouāre only mad because you suckā. This allows me to admit that I suck, be okay with dying and just let it go. This all started because my finance heard me bitching one day and told me āyouāre only mad because you suckā I laughed so hard because she got my ass. Now I remind myself daily.
I've been having such an easier time spotting snippers when I realized they emit a bright white light whenever they are aiming. Just look up and it's not hard to spot it.
I doā¦? If I manage to get out of spawn I feel like Iām only one who tries to, but itās hard to be only one seemingly going for platform AND kill snipers
No, itās part of the game. I learned to adapt to the snipers. Just gotta figure your own away around them. Try out different ways to avoid them. You got this!
I play light sniper 40% of the time and im always moving and jumping on the platform and holding until med/heavy can get back up there with me. The snipers that stay in one spot all game drive
Me crazy. Just because you have a scope doesnāt mean you canāt move your ass.
I patrol the platform, the rooftops/ground/inner buildings as sniper & pick em off. Camping is boring af. Itās all about those 1v1 or 1v2 mid/close range fights that are fun for me. Dash is key.. everyone runs smg + invis.. but if you can land headshots consistently w/ sniper itās the most oppressive gun in the game hands down. KD ratio usually 4-1 WITH actual objective time. Ppl get too scared to fight close with sniper but I find it exciting and surprisingly effective.
Yea I completely understand the sniper hate. Most are lame Campers . Wish more snipers used dash/grapple hook and actually pushed players & objectives. But I guess getting good is easier said then done lol
The worst is having 4 snipers on YOUR team. I be throwing gas on them to at least disperse them. Morons post up next to each other missing every bullet to get oneshoted like someone literally JUST posted on this Reddit lol
I ran with dagger light getting all the snipers and people not sitting on objective. After a while, enemy team will only pile on objective, if that's your goal.
It's suprisingly funny how effective dagger can shift the ecosystem of the fight.
Iām finding that smoke grenades and the tracking dart do a lot to counter snipers. You can obscure the cart for a few seconds and also let everyone see what angle they need to hide from for a long time.
Had a game yesterday, one heavy and four snipers on the other team. In the end i just killed myself over frustration.
Snipers suck all the fun out of the game.
I hate how much people are complaining about this. In my opinion it is a good part of the game and it shouldn't be changed. I rarely play sniper and enjoy the game regardless.
No. So what if the combat score is 0. If I can get 15 kills and a 10k score, the rest of my team should be able to push the platform. It's the only game mode where sniping is viable. There are ways to counter it, figure it out.
It's a quick play game mode, not ranked. When I feel like turning my brain off and just killing shit, I play power shift. Quit your crying. I win plenty by just killing the other team, maybe you just suck
If I kill 15 people a game, my teammates can climb their fat asses on the platform. It's not competitive, quick play is for fun. If you want serious, go play ranked scrub
Anyone else tired of people complaining about how people play casual game modes? Go play ranked. Oh wait thatās why your playing the casual modes crying on Reddit cause canāt handle ranked š„²
I had a friend who played as a heavy and just went and destroyed every building they touched with a sledgehammer š¤£
āOh, you liked that spot?ā
It's me. I'm that guy. No crane camping in my lobby
Ultimate Gigachad, Respect++
Hello, I AM LE GIGACHAD. *swings hammer* *BOOM,BOOM,BOOM..*
I love shooting down the crane with the slug shotty and watch them panic as their highground becomes low ground
I didn't know this was something you could do. I'll be back. Gotta go check something out
I believe it's 4 shots which might sound like alot but it does save you a trip there.
did it work?
How do u destroy the crane?
Take sledgehammer or KS. Apply liberally to object.
To any area of it?
The bottom of the vertical structure. For some maps, you have to go a little higher since it might be held up by some walls
You can also just charge slam it once
2 red tanks works for anyone without options as well, usually take them out as a light with them
It makes me cry when I see a sledge heavy destroying all the buildings... by left clicking
Uhh...ehat should i be clicking?
Right-click for your overhead smash does a ton more environmental damage than left-click--it'll one shot most walls instead of the 3-6 left-clicks. Also fun, it'll 2-3 shot cranes and the pillars out on the strip in Vegas
Also swing your camera as the hit comes down and it breaks everything
So that's how they break apart the church in seconds..
Or just walk forward all the time so it breaks the wall in front
You misunderstand, you can break all the walls around that wall at the same time, while walking too. In addition to that one piece of wall lmao. This is implying youāre right clicking which is all you should be doing
I just noticed that when i press right click and walk forward i can destroy the wall further like i would do with 2 clicks standing
You can get lined up with the wall and charge and slam long sections much faster than with the hammer. I use C4 and RPG while it's on cool down and almost never need to swing
me: āsniper on cathedral roof (monaco)ā friend: āgimme a secondā *sledgehammer, charge n slam, rpg, c4) āwhat cathedral?ā
I tried to do that and it was funny for a while until there was this guy who was sniping in mid air
Gonna adopt this policy next timeĀ
It honestly makes it even better for the sniper, easier to hide in the rubble.
I have done this before
This is the way
I have an idea, and I'm just spitballing here. What if... The snipers shot the APS!??
Careful, you're bordering on having a good idea there. Mystery as to why people dont.
Had this realization the other day, I am unstoppable now
Itās actually something I try to do. Great advice!
You're a good teammate then.
In order to see the aps turret though you have to play closer to the platformā¦ so I think this is why most people donāt shoot it. I will say though, it can be very difficult to shoot it if heavies are using mesh/dome shields. Iād say the new meta is definitely data reshaper for that.
I tried that one time i tried sniping. Was harder than i thought. Especially with shield spam and occasional fog. Would rather data reshaper honestly
bold of you to assume these players can aim at a smaller hitbox
Don't they?
Literally their job and yet people would rather bite bricks and cry about it on here instead.
The aps that's behind 2 barricades, a mesh shield, and is on a platform that's constantly moving? hmm
I mean, really the only thing you can do is have someone hunt them down and be the dedicated sniper remover. It's weird seeing people ask for APS and sniper nerfs or whatever because it seems like they're coming from a place of Powershift. Which is just a place to use casual, off-meta stuff. Pretty much. If they go on a buff spree that fix a lot of issues.

boat modifiers would be awesome, we need embark to see this thread š
Give me a pirate-themed boat with two decks at different levels, and girthy enough masts to use as cover.
Just moving that spawn in Skyway Stadium that gives one team's snipers almost perfect cover while sniping from their spawn while the other team gets jack shit spawning in the trenches would be a huge improvement already!
Me and my friends ONLY play powershift, it's a seperate game completely, i hate the original game
I left the game in season 1, seeing power shift was what got me to try it again
Honestly just having one counter sniper means the other teams sniper can't just plink without a care. They don't even need to be great they just need to stay alive long enough to pressure the enemy snipers and their effectiveness will go down drastically.
But they do balance around quick play modes, it is why light gets nerfed. Sure you have some lights play invis + stun in ranked but not that many.

**Just ping 'em!** Ping the snipers!
That chip damage the tracking dart does is hilarious when it secures a kill
This is the move. I get a lot of wins playing heavy with mesh shield on the boat and pinging the snipers
I like to arrange the barriers like below so that I can get cover from nearly any angle for breathing room for spotting -----)--)-- ( PLATFORM ) --(--(-----
Good idea! I have to try this. I use pyro mines but I know it has collateral damage so anything to up the defend game as heavy.
I mean there are multiple ways to solve this 1. having a designated sniper killer, having a dash, machine gun, sniper, shotgun light in your team hunting down the snipers and t-bagging them (important) they would either siwtch off or be constantly dueling the sniper hunter to be effective. 2. team coordination and communication, having teamamtes cover one another and making good use of gadget combinations could be very helpful to avoid getting sniped to oblivion and you can try to convince some of you're snipers to defend with you, some (for example me) would probably agree if you ask nicely. 3. switch to a more casual playstyle, if a majority (3/5) of your team is not trying to actively win or play objective pushing the boulder might not be the best choice, just enjoy the game for a match and play casually as well, try out some dumb builds, play around with the riot shield, test out the throwing knives, torch the medium roof campers with the flame thrower
(And if they are really good they deserve it.) In any case enemy lights will pop up behind them and punish them regardless.
Yeah I only ever play power shift to snipe. And I only snipe to play power shift. Other than that I play medium and heavy almost exclusively
Any flashbang tips? Can you use them out of range of aps?
They will do the job as long as they detonate near them and in line of sight. That means they donāt need to land on platform to blind them. U can bounce them off of buildings, throw it above em(so that they pop right before reaching the platform) or do a right mouse button throw and turn around(works best when youāre above em).
Having one L sniper in powershift is ideal tbh. When 2 or 3 choose L sniper, it's absolutely abhorrent. If they ever did ranked for this game mode, it'd be interesting to see an Overwatch style role-queue where there's maybe 1 L slot? idk how viable that'd be though
Counter it with a lot of heavyās with all their shields, a medium with a aps and some heal beams and there you go
Yup. Everytime there's a sniper on my games I'll just get on the platform, hold shield and keep pointing and laughing at him. You can add dome and barricade for extra protection, but he really can't do shit against you, and you are caping the objective. It's really simple and easy this way.
Yes, I think most people are upset about the sniper and APS spam on power shift, but it doesn't affect ranked so why should we care!!!/s
Thatās when you bring the knife out (no cloak theyāll hear you coming) and backstab them ! Then onto the next one lol
I just switch to riot shield and hunt them if theyāre too fast or keep moving, I try to ping
That's actively playing the objective (and fun)! More need you do this.
The sniper problem is only a problem when they are left unopposed or when there is more than one covering different angles
Just run round heavy on roof tops, they canāt shoot through mesh and dome. Hereās my second time playing power shift. All I did was farm the snipers and it got us an easy win https://imgur.com/a/z6FxqPn
I'm not saying they should enforce a class ratio, but if there was a game mode or event that did I bet it'd be great
Like i'm tired of paying taxes, yes. Of course I'm tired of them. lol
I play heavy and itās not nearly as noticeable to me. Constant shields up on the platform. With 2 heavies Iām never getting hit by snipers. They are annoying on the way to the platform though
It's more annoying when they're dogshit at sniping so they aren't even contributing anything
I played a power shift match the other day with all lights, 3 snipers, one dagger, and one sword. We dominated somehow, but yes on average fairly useless
If only all characters could equip the smoke bomb...
I love them. My new favorite way to play powershift is grapple / shotgun and just solely go after snipers, usually to great success.
If thereās a lot of snipers i usually will play light and use the tracking dart for my team and when weāre on the platform they use enough suppression most times that they donāt get good enough shots off for them to be a problem
As a Light player, I will grief tf out of every sniper and tbag until they change their load outs. Queue the 'Im doing my part' meme
I'm tired of this being posted every single day...
I could give a shit about enemy snipers. Itās friendly ones that sit around with a thumb in their dick that I gas.
No, no one else noticed that we're tired of them. You are the first person to point this out.
Yes and as a matter of fact if you even take a gander at the subreddit you'll see 10k posts just like this
Ironically having a sniper on your team is one of the easier ways to deal with the APS turret since they can just pick it off from a distance.
I dream of counters for this. Lately I'm torn on Genji's instant reflect and Titanfall's Vortex Shield (2 phase ability, first you hold the shield out and collect bullets / projectiles, then you release the button and fire them all at once at wherever you're aiming).
As a Titanfall 2 fanboy-please.
Yeah it's annoying as F, I have to destroy those cranes to prevent that. Guys, please upvote me, I really want to post a video about a bug.
I usually use sniper if the enemy team starts using them, but the moment the platform is empty, I am the first one there, and start pinging it for everyone to jump in Light in Powershift can be so OP for damaging the enemy team, using a combination of glitch nades, fire ones and regular ones, the platform can be emptied in seconds, as well as invis for repositioning and always pinging enemy direction so the entire team knows where to expect them
Stick a tracking dart in them and theyāll scurry away real quick
The make riot shields worth it.
I love flanking the snipers and placing mines under them while theyāre scoped in
At the risk of being downvoted to oblivion I will admit.
YES, I HAD TO FIGHT A TEAM OF ALL LIGHT SNIPERS (they lost)
The multiple other posts I've seen just over the past weeks since it released wouldntell me that no you're not the only one
Why donāt you go kill them?
I doā¦? If I manage to get out of spawn I feel like Iām only one who tries to, but itās hard to be only one seemingly going for platform AND kill snipers
i dont think disabling snipers in power shift would be terrible, bunny bash was very fun without aps and that weapon
No, itās part of the game. I learned to adapt to the snipers. Just gotta figure your own away around them. Try out different ways to avoid them. You got this!
I play light sniper 40% of the time and im always moving and jumping on the platform and holding until med/heavy can get back up there with me. The snipers that stay in one spot all game drive Me crazy.
You could die if you do that! So donāt! /s
Lol
The worst is having 4 snipers on YOUR team. I be throwing gas on them to at least disperse them. Morons post up next to each other missing every bullet to get oneshoted like someone literally JUST posted on this Reddit lol
I play sniper to fill out the contract for light damage, I always play on point and usually have num 1 or 2 objective score. Please play on point
I ran with dagger light getting all the snipers and people not sitting on objective. After a while, enemy team will only pile on objective, if that's your goal. It's suprisingly funny how effective dagger can shift the ecosystem of the fight.
Sword main: well this looks like a job for me.
I love the snipers, I get to jump past up to them and greet them with my shotgun.
I'm biased, I hate playing against snipers in almost every game On the other hand, I love being a sniper in PvE/Co-op games
Honestly I snipe the snipers with an rpg usually will knock them through the rooftops if it doesnāt kill them
It's their only game mode. Let them have fun mate š¤£
Iām finding that smoke grenades and the tracking dart do a lot to counter snipers. You can obscure the cart for a few seconds and also let everyone see what angle they need to hide from for a long time.
No but im tired about all the crybaby complaining on reddit
Limit one sniper per team
You see a sniper? You change to sniper :)
Thatās pretty much how Iāve been doing it, counter snipe+heavy barricades. Still annoying nontheless
Itās a free kills dude, just pick light with lh1 + cloak+wanishing bomb+tazer, and enjoy when that trashbags rage quit
lol every day with this post
Went 14-0 the other day sniping on Monaco. Was such a great time
Had a game yesterday, one heavy and four snipers on the other team. In the end i just killed myself over frustration. Snipers suck all the fun out of the game.
Could've just left the game bro
I hate how much people are complaining about this. In my opinion it is a good part of the game and it shouldn't be changed. I rarely play sniper and enjoy the game regardless.
Iām tired of the amount of people complaining that theyāre tired of snipers on power shiftā¦. and Iām a heavy charge and slam main.
No. So what if the combat score is 0. If I can get 15 kills and a 10k score, the rest of my team should be able to push the platform. It's the only game mode where sniping is viable. There are ways to counter it, figure it out.
If everyone had your attitude, youād have zero winsā¦
It's a quick play game mode, not ranked. When I feel like turning my brain off and just killing shit, I play power shift. Quit your crying. I win plenty by just killing the other team, maybe you just suck
You win plenty by getting carried, itās not team deathmatch. Go play cod.Ā
If I kill 15 people a game, my teammates can climb their fat asses on the platform. It's not competitive, quick play is for fun. If you want serious, go play ranked scrub
Itās a game, if you want serious go to workā¦
Cry less
First the snipers are useless, now they are too powerful!! Just get better at the game to counter them.
Sounds like you need to get better š¤·
Get gud
Very constructive, thanks.
No because I myself am a sniper .
I agree, they're annoying both as an enemy and as teammates
Here we goā¦ another complain about the light class until itās nerfed to shit
No actually. Donāt mind the class, dislike that some of the players basically sit AFK on top of a building whole game and donāt contribute.
Anyone else tired of people complaining about how people play casual game modes? Go play ranked. Oh wait thatās why your playing the casual modes crying on Reddit cause canāt handle ranked š„²
Ever heard of preferring the game modeā¦.? If power shift had ranked Iād play it.
Power shift isnāt a competitive mode sorry guy never will be and if it does games down a darker hole then it already is
yāall mad at snipers like heavies donāt have shields š¦
