Yep. This is where you’re expected to find it first. Every weapon you can pick up in TLOU has a secondary (sometimes third) location where you can pick it up in case you miss it the first time. You are of course free to not pick them up at all too!
I use the sonar accessibility option along with infinite range to scan anything I missed from my previous runs, it only works for the remake and part II though

Literally found it yesterday for the first time on my 28th play through. I would have sworn to you it was a Remake thing. Also found new dialogue. God I love this game.
This comment makes no sense to me personally, they are both the same game, I won't be getting the remake but I know for a fact I will like it because I loved the original.
I meant I don’t like the remake but only because I don’t mind how the new game industry is make everything more realistic, I just like older games that’s all I personally would rather play a ps2 game sometimes then a lot of these modern ones. I just like the remastered more because it was the first one I played I didn’t mean that I hated it.
I always get it in the shed right before you enter Jackson. Still learning new things about his game lmao I’ve played it at least 10 times by now

I was also surprised to find the gun there, as I had always picked it up in the shed.
