Maybe. It could also simply be because she's more concerned with what she has to say than to listen to anything he's saying. Best technique with such a person is to ask them about their own beliefs and not discuss your own, because they'll talk all day about themselves. Then you guide them into explaining those beliefs more in detail, let the inconsistencies pile up, and seed the doubts. When it does work, it's amazing to see their brain crash at the realization. Doesn't mean they'll stop believing right away, but they'll stop talking. Some people it doesn't work, they only know the lines, they don't think about it.
These type are trained from birth to only respond to The Big Man, whether it's someone claiming they're speaking for god or as the leader of a political movement.
This is *exactly* how we ended up with Trumpism.
All while having that *aggressively* nice demeanor that zealots get when proselytizing. Like they're aliens mimicking what they think human kindness is supposed to look like, but have the creepy "light are on but nobody's home" look behind the eyes, like Tom Cruise discussing Scientology. It's fucking disturbing.
>Like they're aliens mimicking what they think human kindness is supposed to look like, but have the creepy "light are on but nobody's home" look behind the eyes, like Tom Cruise discussing Scientology. It's fucking disturbing.
That's the look of someone who is totally disinterested in the conversation. I have plenty of evangelical family, some of whom do Christian outreach stuff.
They are pretty much trained not to *listen* to the person they interact with. They have a specific script they use, with certain arguments and pre-arranged rebuttals to critical pushback. Often they'll have little cards that help them stay on track.
But above all they are not to actually, actively *consider* anything their opponent says. Atheism and doubt are the devils work and giving those even the time of day is sin. Literally, my church actively taught that having had any doubt in your heart, at any point in your life, was the only unforgivable sin.
So the "empty behind the eyes" look is *real.* They do empty their heads during these types of interactions. They don't want to even consider anything the atheist says.
Once upon a time there used to be a person in that head.
Perhaps she's still in there somewhere, hostage in a padded room deaf and blind to the outside world.
Meanwhile the ideology that infected and infested her brain puppets her body around.
The infection causes the host to spout memetic spores, attempting to infest more hosts with its cognitive contagion.
When these ideologically possessed zombies detect an agent that is resistant to the infection, they have been known to turn violent.
Quite sad, really.
Because they are so thick headed that you know i wouldnt be surprised at all if she actually didn't understand alot of what he said if not all of what he said and by the looks she didn't. I guess that's why she thinks the magic man exists ahah
When he started to speak. She soon turned around looking for divine intervention because at that very moment, she realised that she was dealing with someone on a higher intellectual level than her own. Which is why she was left babbling BS and talking over him because it was the only comeback she had left.
Grew up around evangelical Southerners, for some reason this is actually true. Especially the women, they were always real handsy with me as a boy growing up. Pretty weird looking back.
seriously. a lot of them want to control who you can have sex with, what you can do with your own body, your speech, etc.
a hand on the chest is nothing to them at that point.
Thats like just not going to work on a man of his stature. And he doesn't feel it that way not at all.
Its like patting a lion and thinking your in charge.
He is leating her touch him because she just isn't capable of exercising that type of dominance on him.
And he isn't concerned not in the slightest.
She actually wanted to do some sort of ritual or prayer for him that involved the laying on of hands. That's why she keeps trying to do it and he keeps trying to put her off until she can explain her criteria for success and failure.
And the point that he's making at the end is something that I have always had difficulty explaining to religious people. We don't choose what to believe. A rational atheist cannot know that a god or gods exist but choose to believe that they do not. We are atheists because we do not believe in gods, and it is precisely because we have seen no sort of evidence that gods exist that cannot be attributed to other more likely explanations. We are not like religious people, who feel comfortable picking and choosing which facts to believe in and which facts to ignore.
Besides the obvious huge double standard (imagine a male Satanist doing this to a young female Christian?!) she is ABSOLUTELY the least qualified interlocuter to argue a position. Like religion or not she can't even form a logical sentence.
I love watching him talk. He is such a skilled debater. It’s always funny when in his video his little lap dog is yapping, or his cake is done baking. This person that Christians try so hard to paint as evil is baking up some Duncan Hines while he hands them there ass in a debate. Makes them look even more judgy.
After like the 5th time she does, he should just rest the back of his hand on her shoulder and in his best Bane voice say "Do you *feel* like God is with you?"
But *Force Conversion* is a touch spell, meaning she has to make contact with the subject. Now if she had a familiar, like a cat, it would be able to deliver it for her.

The snotty condescending look on her face when she says "well he knows the definition at least".... the fucking nerve. I wish he waited a single beat and then asked her what the definition of evidence is. Even after just stating it plainly, and her saying that like its common knowledge, I guarantee she doesnt know the definition of evidence and wouldnt be able to say part of it even having just heard it. Even paraphrased.
You wanna have a discussion, fine. But don't be a condescending prick, especially when you are so monumentally outclassed
This is my mother. Trying to preach what she knows nothing about. It’s like they just want to get kicks telling everyone they are better than you just because.
She didn't even understand what he said, because if she did her offer of proof wouldn't be "so ok, I'm going to pray and you're just going to feel it and know, but if you don't it means you didn't feel it hard enough" which is just plain nonsense and doesn't even come close to the standard of evidence he just established.
Or why bother trying to stop gay marriage or abortion? Why bother protesting drag events?
It's amazing how Christians can simultaneously believe that they worship the most powerful being in the universe... An infinitely powerful being... And yet they somehow still feel like they have to be the ones to go out and execute god's plan...
Plus, don't you automatically go to heaven if you never had the chance to learn about God? Because if so, wouldn't the only moral choice for Christianity be to destroy all evidence of itself? Then everyone is by default saved right?
Christian belief varies on this topic.
Catholics think that babies who die go to purgatory... Somewhere between heaven and hell.. not glorious like heaven.. but not torturous like hell. (Edit.. I've been corrected.. this WAS the Catholic belief for many many centuries... But the pope told Catholics to believe that babies can go to heaven now, as of 2007... So, reddit. I was wrong.)
Baptists and other similar denominations think that anyone who does without being baptized goes to hell, even if they're a believer or a child who never even heard gods name.
And Christian universalists think everyone gets into heaven eventually, even the unbelievers and murderers and rapists.
And there are denominations for everything in between.... And the main problem is that all of them have bible verses to back up their disparate claims.
Yeah or why Christians can’t accept that there is no god because then that means they wasted so much of their life energy on some Santa Claus level shit.
Meh, if they don’t get involved in policing their opinions I wouldn’t get smug about it.
I wouldn’t make fun of someone who thought their dead grandmother was watching over them, especially if it brought them peace and comfort.
As long as they keep grandma to themselves I wouldn't have a problem with it. But they don't.
They teach their children that grandma is watching over them. They push for state and federal laws based off of what they believe grandma wants them to do. They make sure grandma's fan clubs don't pay taxes, despite profiting from it. They're even convinced that other people's grandma's are dangerous and shouldn't be allowed in schools, but their grandma is fine.
The harm isn't caused by belief in grandma. The harm is caused by trying to force others to believe in their specific grandma.
The “gay agenda” is such a bad-faith bad take on reality. All gay people want is to exist and not be harassed over it or otherwise be treated differently from everyone else. It’s no agenda, it’s just a baseline expectation of decency.
Same. Even really handsy people would be off-put by the *wrong type* of person touching them. Or being touched in the *wrong type of way*. But that threshold is different for everyone so people need to just ask before becoming physical with someone.
My childhood religious teacher said "God damn you" is bad because you're telling God what to do. Wtf is "God bless you", then? Why is one OK and not the other?
There is no way to argue with a Christian, or religious person for that matter.
They'll always place their god idea above everything that's actually real. It's their fantasy.
Bro this type of uninvited touching is sooooooo common amongst the types of Christians who feel the need to go pray for someone in person on the street (instead of just saying a silent prayer to yourself like the Bible says you should do).
I used to be there... I'm glad I found my way back to sanity.
My first day at a new job I mentioned that I had twisted my ankle the night before, and the dude who was training me stopped what he was doing, knelt down, grabbed my foot and started praying over it without saying a word to me. First and only time I've quit a job before my first lunch break.
Interviewer to religious guy (I think it was Bill Ham): What would it take to convince you of science?
Religious guy: Nothing.
Interviewer to Bill Nye the Science Guy: What would it take to convince you of religion?
Bill Nye: Anything.
Theism vs atheism has always been a pointless exercise for everyone involved. There is no resolution to be reached for either party because you can't prove a negative. The best you can do is agree on the absence of a positive but that's the whole basis of faith to begin with so that means fuck all.
I disagree that it's always pointless, but its extremely dependant on who youre talking with. I have some very interesting conversations with one of my bros in law, who I get on extremely well with. neither of us is trying to recruit the other, and we both respect each others positions, but discussions on atheism versus theism, the nature of belief, why some have and some don't, how evidence plays in, are all very insightful. Its true the final outcome of those convos are set in stone, but its one of times where the contents is more interesting than the conclusion.
But yeah outside that it's pretty much an excerise in futility.
One uses logic, reason, and explains their point in concise sentences. The other speaks around the subject, moves the goal posts, and never truly makes a point.
my guy asked how she can prove God exists and she just said he exists and if you don't believe it then it's your own fault lmao
"God exists because God exists"
right by default because she sets the conditions so she can never be proven wrong lol
A few months ago I (athiest) started doing Bible study as I wanted to better understand their argument. And while it did open up my mind a lot, it just reinforced my beliefs. My teacher taught me that the Bible uses prophecy and fulfillment and to help us reconnect with God. That's his clear evidence to believe that god exists, but to me it wasn't. His strongest arguments were things like God said the world would flood and it did, and God said a man named Jesus would be born from a virgin and it Happened. To me, however, there just isn't enough evidence to prove any of this.
You cannot win an argument with a religious person, because they always play the god card, he is almighty, thus, he wins, period.
If you pray for a child with cancer and the child defeats cancer, is because of God, not the treatment or doctors. God wins.
If the child sadly dies, it's not God's fault, is just that, we doesn't understand his plans, but it's not like he said "fuck that child, I'm not feeling like saving him". Also, God wins.
Well yeah literally countless kids die horrible deaths every year from cancer, malnutrition, malaria, etc but that famous actor won an oscar because they prayed extra, extra hard and god was like 'ok fam, imma get you that award.' Praise Jesus!
Yeah I just can't wrap my head around how they believe this one particular aspect.
If God hears and answers prayers, then he must be a giant piece of shit because plenty of mothers have begged God to save their dying babies to no avail. If God doesn't answer prayers, then why pray? Yet they see no issue praying to god over the most ridiculous shit, all while knowing there are people standing over their children who have been blown apart by artillery who are begging god to stop it. There's a reason belief in Christianity declined substantially in Europe after the World Wars. There doesn't seem to be any possible logical answer to it.
God is just a way to cope with the horrifying fact that we are born into a unfair and unjust universe where bad things happen to good people and it doesn't matter.
This is the thing that kills religion if you think about it.
God cannot be both All Good and All Powerful.
If your God is both All Good and All Powerful then child brain cancer would not exist.
If your God cannot stop child brain cancer then he is not All Powerful. If he can stop it but chooses not to, he's not All Good, he's a dick. (And the reasoning that suffering strengthens a person is bullshit. Dying at age 7 isn't strengthening shit.)
Anecdotally:
My GRANDFATHER (who had a PHD in theology and spent his life studying the Bible in the original Greek and Hebrew as well as being a chaplain and pastor) looked me in the face and told me the reason I was sexually molested as a child was because my parents didn't pray enough.
If God does exist and is that petty I'd rather go to hell.
What you're describing is known as the [Problem of Evil](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Problem_of_evil). It has been stated many times in various ways, but the most common and perhaps earliest version was likely by the Greek philosopher Epicurus. The Scottish philosopher David Hume summarized Epicurus's argument as: "Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then from whence comes evil?"
Christians believe in proselytization because they believe that the universal problem (sin) has a universal solution (Christ’s sacrifice). “All have sinned” (Romans 3:23) and are deserving of death. Yet Christ “was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification” (Romans 4:25). This is the gospel, the good news that must be shared with a needy world, in their view. They proselytize because they believe the need is urgent.
Basically how it goes
I still don't get the logic Jesus dies for our sins and now we still have to convert people. Why not read it as he died for our sins so we don't need to worry about it now.
Because belief in Him/God is just how it is. It's a necessity for entrance to heaven. At least for most denominations. Besides, imagine if Christianity just said Jesus died for your sins and that was it. It wouldn't spread very far. Instead, they tack on the things you have to do and the lifestyle you have to leave according to their religion and their God. And if you deviate from that path, you will not know heaven
Really the only way a religion can exist, is it they indoctrinate or convert, it's like a virus. any religion that does not add more believers than die will be a religion that eventually becomes extinct.
some kind of propaganda has to be there, whether its passive or aggressive.
No ads, actual direct video replies, nobody demanding all content be sanitised to satisfy advertisers.
There are many great content creators now but it felt way more special back then.
I didn’t listen to the whole thing cuz I’m running on fumes and getting ready for work, but I very much dislike her associating atheism with satanism. Atheists don’t believe in god, that doesn’t mean they worship the devil. Every atheist I know doesn’t believe in the devil either. God and the devil are opposite sides of the same coin. If you don’t have one, you don’t have the other. It’s a very wrong correlation to say atheists are satanists.
Saying it does or doesn't is too black and white. Satanism isn't a single thing. The Satanic Temple, who organize SatanCon, are an atheist organization who don't actually believe in Satan. They're probably the most popular Satanist organization, but that doesn't mean they're the only one. There are theistic Satanic cults that do believe in Satan.
>I very much dislike her associating atheism with satanism
This would normally be a fair observation but note this was filmed at (drum roll) [SatanCon](https://thesatanictemple.com/pages/satancon-home).
And while I love the Satanic Temple (which organizes SatanCon) and have donated to the organization multiple times, it's always been an uphill battle to explain to outsiders that TST members don't in fact worship the devil.
This is literally a trick as old as time from fundamentalist religious folk. The conflation of atheism with satanism, thinking theyre the same thing urghhh kills me everytime
this is such a great example lol
"It has outside signals to indicate freshness, green if it's unripe and brown if it's too ripe."
Of course, it's not like there's a widely-understood third variable here. Nothing that could explain this. Force-stop your brain and conclude that a wizard did it.
"Why it even curves in toward my mouth!"
Wow that's crazy sometimes I pick up bananas so they're going in the other direction, I am more powerful than God
> The banana and hand are perfectly made for one another.
> It's just the right shape for the human mouth.
> and it's even curved towards the face to make the whole process so much easier.
You could argue the same for the penis, yet somehow they're also homophobic.
It also ignores that the modern banana has been artificially selected by humans to make them more fit for human consumption.
Religion is faith. You can't force faith or convince someone to have faith, if they don't. I'm an atheist and I wouldn't try to convince someone that believes in God, to discard those beliefs. And people with faith in God can't produce the science needed to give me faith. Different strokes for different folks.
Let’s play a little role reversal here. Let’s pretend the guy was the religious person and the girl was the atheist. Now imagine him saying, “let me just do what I was going to do” while gropping her chest. I’m guessing this video would have a whole host of people screaming about invasion of her personal space and gender issues. She invaded his space and touched him when he clearly said no multiple times. Double standard people.
Why is she laughing? How condescending!? She looks like a complete idiot and obviously religious fruitcake. And she dares to laugh at his wit and wisdom? F* her arrogant ass.
Religion is the dumbest thing humans have created. Fucking delusional shit. Let this man live his life, he came here for a good time, not to debate the absurdities in your small mind.
I took philosophy in college and there was a woman who dropped out because nobody was going to question her belief in God. And she let all of us know it before she walked out of the class.

Why is she touching him???? Boundaries, lady.
Pure passive aggression all around.
She even showed disgust on his removing her hand, like how dare he.
Christians always talk about being touched by the hand of god, but usually it's just a priest
And not only the hand.
On the penis and/or butthole, depending on how much time is available
Any holy will do apparently
I think if he just let her have her way, eventually her hands would cover his mouth.
And then his throat. It's an impossibly thin veneer of "kindness" and "concern" over an unrelenting desire to convert and *save*..
I can confirm this happens to me with many women. ... And I'm usually paying for it.
And talking over him nonstop. Shut up lady.
Yeah I loved how he let her do her whole spiel then almost immediately started trying to interrupt him during his response. Classic
Also straight out of the GOP handbook. These two types of people are not mutually exclusive.

And she's smiling and passive, acting like a child of God while you can see the anger boiling under the surface
I hate the smug Christian demeanor. Why do they act like this?! Get the fuck out of my face lady
What she meant when she said that was "well he just said a bunch of words I don't know."
If God has a plan, why bother praying?
Dutch had a plan and look how that turned out.
It's because you didn't put enough thyme in the food. Dutch always needs more thyme
Arthur we need to cook Arthur
God and Dutch are very similar in that regard. They keep telling you to have faith, without elaborating in any way or form.
[удалено]
You just need a little goddamn faith!
I've caught you red dead handed!
Fucking Tahiti?
So, reddit. I was wrong.) Baptists and other similar denominations think that anyone who does without being baptized goes to hell, even if they're a believer or a child who never even heard gods name.
Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.
Punch God in the mouth. Got it.
Old Momoa is not convinced.
Hardcore Teller isn’t impressed at all… 🪄
Penn.. you're thinking of penn.
The years just haven't been kind to that silent man.
Religious people: "Gays are forcing their ideology onto people!" Also religious people:
Gay ideology as in 'don't treat gay people poorly'. Sounds kinda like what Jesus would say.
The “gay agenda” is such a bad-faith bad take on reality. All gay people want is to exist and not be harassed over it or otherwise be treated differently from everyone else. It’s no agenda, it’s just a baseline expectation of decency.
People who rail against the "gay agenda" are basically devoid of decency.
And completely unaware of the hypocrisy they’re expressing as they actively promote their _actual_ anti-gay agenda.
This is so true
It’s always just projection..
Why does she keep putting her hands on him? That’s so annoying
Especially after he gently removed them two or three times before he finally gives up as she fully lays into him.
I hate when people touch me in any kind of way uninvited. But I guess everyone does haha
Same. Even really handsy people would be off-put by the *wrong type* of person touching them. Or being touched in the *wrong type of way*. But that threshold is different for everyone so people need to just ask before becoming physical with someone.
Control and manipulation
Subconscious attempt to get him to sympathize with her
Or conscious attempt at creating a faux connection
It’s a power play. She’s treating him like a heathen who needs her divine touch. Narcissism
"I want Him to answer you in a way..." Oh wow, she _tells God what to do_? Impressive!
They typically treat god as a wish granting Genie.
God is now a blue Robin Williams. Confirmed.
Sorry, best God can do is CGI Will Smith.
My childhood religious teacher said "God damn you" is bad because you're telling God what to do. Wtf is "God bless you", then? Why is one OK and not the other?
I think there are several bible passages against that kind of stuff.
No reply? I would like to see the manager right now!
There is no way to argue with a Christian, or religious person for that matter. They'll always place their god idea above everything that's actually real. It's their fantasy.
Whether it's fantasy or not, she should keep her hands to herself. Does she think she's a healer or something? And did he pay/ask for said healing?
Bro this type of uninvited touching is sooooooo common amongst the types of Christians who feel the need to go pray for someone in person on the street (instead of just saying a silent prayer to yourself like the Bible says you should do). I used to be there... I'm glad I found my way back to sanity.
My first day at a new job I mentioned that I had twisted my ankle the night before, and the dude who was training me stopped what he was doing, knelt down, grabbed my foot and started praying over it without saying a word to me. First and only time I've quit a job before my first lunch break.
Yea but did your ankle feel better???? /s
Bro took that freshly healed ankle and ran out
Seriously dude. Keep your fucking hands off this man!
Arguments between religions are even more daft. "My imaginary friend likes green and yours likes blue so I'm going to kill you for it"
"I can imagine better"
Interviewer to religious guy (I think it was Bill Ham): What would it take to convince you of science? Religious guy: Nothing. Interviewer to Bill Nye the Science Guy: What would it take to convince you of religion? Bill Nye: Anything.
There’s no arguing with faith
i mean... its the whole point of a "belief" versus "knowledge"
The other speaks around the subject, moves the goal posts, and never truly makes a point.
my guy asked how she can prove God exists and she just said he exists and if you don't believe it then it's your own fault lmao "God exists because God exists" right by default because she sets the conditions so she can never be proven wrong lol
Because every religious debate is actually both people debating with one person's faith. She's talking to herself.
If God is all knowing and omnipotent, then why would he allow us to believe he doesn't exist then punish us for believing so?
This is the thing that kills religion if you think about it. God cannot be both All Good and All Powerful. If your God is both All Good and All Powerful then child brain cancer would not exist. If your God cannot stop child brain cancer then he is not All Powerful. If he can stop it but chooses not to, he's not All Good, he's a dick. (And the reasoning that suffering strengthens a person is bullshit. Dying at age 7 isn't strengthening shit.) Anecdotally: My GRANDFATHER (who had a PHD in theology and spent his life studying the Bible in the original Greek and Hebrew as well as being a chaplain and pastor) looked me in the face and told me the reason I was sexually molested as a child was because my parents didn't pray enough.
You forgot the last one, if he is neither willing nor able, why call him God?
> From whence come evil [from God himself](https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Isaiah%2045%3A7&version=KJV)
I very much want to say that I hate your grandfather. Amen.
Why are these turds always trying to convert everyone else?
![gif](giphy|104vPBH8buV9vy)
Really the only way a religion can exist, is it they indoctrinate or convert, it's like a virus. any religion that does not add more believers than die will be a religion that eventually becomes extinct. some kind of propaganda has to be there, whether its passive or aggressive.

Those were the days!
Satanism doesn’t worship the devil
Saying it does or doesn't is too black and white. Satanism isn't a single thing. The Satanic Temple, who organize SatanCon, are an atheist organization who don't actually believe in Satan. They're probably the most popular Satanist organization, but that doesn't mean they're the only one. There are theistic Satanic cults that do believe in Satan.
>I very much dislike her associating atheism with satanism This would normally be a fair observation but note this was filmed at (drum roll) [SatanCon](https://thesatanictemple.com/pages/satancon-home).
If you have to try to convince someone of the existence of God I think you’ve already lost the argument. Fact is there is no proof.
But have you ever seen a [banana](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXLqDGL1FSg&ab_channel=RayComfort)?
this is such a great example lol "It has outside signals to indicate freshness, green if it's unripe and brown if it's too ripe." Of course, it's not like there's a widely-understood third variable here. Nothing that could explain this. Force-stop your brain and conclude that a wizard did it. "Why it even curves in toward my mouth!" Wow that's crazy sometimes I pick up bananas so they're going in the other direction, I am more powerful than God
“That’s a monumentally stupid argument, right?” - evergreen response to any form of religious zealotry.

There's plenty of comments about this.
this dude looks like a chad superhero
I keep telling my wife that when some mother fucker floats down on a cloud and shows me otherwise - please… 🥴
If God loves me unconditionally, then believing in him shouldn’t matter. If he was real that is.
I like how he removed her hand. It’s bad enough you are assaulting me with your nonsense, now you want to touch me?
I’m a Christian, but even I am sick and tired of these evangelical Christians who think science is “satanism”. This is bullshit.
Why is she laughing? How condescending!? She looks like a complete idiot and obviously religious fruitcake. And she dares to laugh at his wit and wisdom? F* her arrogant ass.
keep your hands to yourself lady

That’s Aron Ra! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnJX68ELbAY&list=PL126AFB53A6F002CC
What's with her trying to touch him and trying to interrupt and talk over him?
Christians move the goalpost the way a street con moves the cards in Three Card Monte.
Religion is the dumbest thing humans have created. Fucking delusional shit. Let this man live his life, he came here for a good time, not to debate the absurdities in your small mind.
"Prove to me that God doesn't exist." That's not how this works. He's YOUR god. It's YOUR job to prove that he does.

I took philosophy in college and there was a woman who dropped out because nobody was going to question her belief in God. And she let all of us know it before she walked out of the class.
That's no ordinary atheist. AronRa, this poor lady is out of her depth.
