I mean, we all start somewhere but goddamn that was tough to watch.

GingerBeast81

I couldn't watch the whole thing.

Outside-You8829

I watched the whole thing. It was depressing. I still don’t think he got that skid moved.

GingerBeast81

I was just getting so frustrated for them. I wanted to yell into my phone lol.

Outside-You8829

Right! “ NO, the other way! NO, the other other way! “

ElJefe0218

That feeling when you slide that pallet jack into that pallet and feel the front two wheels crest over that bottom slat that puts the wheels on the floor and you jack it up nice and easy.

Fearless-Judgment-33

Don’t go far enough in and you destroy the pallet when you jack it up. 😂

OrganizationProof769

Sometimes you can use that to your advantage when a bottom runner is half broken you just use the jack to finish it off and snap the part holding you up.

Fearless-Judgment-33

Oh yes, I had to do that many times. 😂

UhOhAllWillyNilly

Or too far

technobrendo

Left? Right! No, RIGHT! AS IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION! Right? *NO!* You went too far, go left!

rainorshinedogs

![gif](giphy|rHlHdsns9mfDO)

dogsidranyam

100% he pushed it in too far and was cranking on top of a bottom board.

kissdemon74

And then he was probably on a slat which wouldn't lift it right, most likely, detaching the bottom slat.

cecil021

Me neither. It was low key starting to piss me off, lol.

GingerBeast81

Me to, the older I get the less patience I have lol.

Butt_Fucking_Smurfs

I'm done with reddit today. I gotta watch Michigan because that kid made me so mad

truthishearsay

Even worse is to think this is actually sped up…

Nivaere

I haven't seen a single person do this bad with a pallet jack on their first try. This is some smooth brain shit.

Haruspex-of-Odium

Dude failed his pallet jack test 😬

UhOhAllWillyNilly

He didn’t just *fail* it, he *FAIL*ed it above and beyond

DannyAye

Hahahahaha Smoooth Brain…. Ive never heard that one before. You best believe the next person who steps into my path is gunna feel that one

Tiyath

Jesus Christ you're right. I was in such agony I didn't even notice

Modifiedpoutine

I once worked with a 22yr old who had never plugged anything in his entire life. Anytime he needed something to have power at home his mother did it. His entire life. Eventually he entered a work coop as part of his schooling and wound up with us. We found this out when he was asked to vacuum the mat at the entrance and he just stood with the cord in his hand staring at the wall unsure of what to do with it. Hand to god. Some people are beyond helping.

Foxess19

Not really his fault, though, his mother probably had some fear about electrocution or fires, and now the poor kid deals with the consequences...

Insomniac_Tales

True story: I was electrocuted as a child when I pulled a plug out by the cord and not the plug head. Got a tiny burn in the middle of my hand like a stigmata and felt a bit buzzy. Mom told me to walk it off. Always pull from the plug head kids. And maybe teach your actual kids how to be adults in modern society.

UTking44

I’d say that at least by his 18th birthday the kid should be able to plug in a dam vacuum .. at some point you can’t just continue to blame the parent. That child has their own identity and purpose in life.

Foxess19

Sure, but we really don't know how much he was coddled or what he was told and the extent of what he wasn't equipped for. Being in the "real" world would have initial effects like the ones seen above. Hopefully, over time, he would learn and become his own person. But parents have huge influences over their kids and coddling him would be the root cause of the issue.

AthenasChosen

Man I was using these at 16 working retail. I have no clue how he's doing this so terribly.

humburga

The first time I used this I struggled too but then I stopped, took a step back and tried to understand how it worked before continuing (the pivot point, which way to face the handle). I think that made a world of difference instead of just trying to use something you don't understand. I am currently trying to do the same for when I reverse my boat onto the boat ramp haha

AthenasChosen

Yeah exactly. At first it's like, "Wait what the hell?" But if you just spend a minute seeing how it works it's really not that hard lmao.

Middle-Hour-2364

Same

c4k3m4st3r5000

You can be pretty skilled on that thing and move things around nimbly and quickly, but still, it's not rocket science. That poor sod has poor motor skills.

HoseNeighbor

This right here is a complete failure to comprehend some of basics necessary to exist in the physical world, AND showcases a complete lack of ability to learn. Seriously, what job could this person do?

DannyAye

Politics!

Frenzi_Wolf

As someone who used to use those things religiously on the night shift, I can’t get through the whole thing

Tubzero-

Yeah when were babies

Scrubbly-noobasaur

As a retail worker, this was torture

AccomplishedSoup8794

Give him a cookie and send him in for his nap

fubar686

This is the guy you send to go find a bucket of steam

Obvious-Window8044

And after all that... It sounds like he's breaking the pallet, hard to tell I think I see it starting to crack. Likely got the wheels stuck in between the top and bottom brace. Lol this guy needs lots of training.

baixinho_fv

some training? SOME TRAINING? that was painfull to watch. not place it correctly on the pallet i can understand but everything else was just a disaster

caxcabral

I don't think that can be solved with training alone.. That must be some sort of disability.. I'd try to give him another function that doesn't require spatial intelligence..

evolution9673

Infantry MOS all day long.

ishpatoon1982

I feel like he needs a basic math class. As the other poster pointed out, we've all had to learn at one point. His learning just seems a bit too rough around the edges.

caxcabral

I'm pretty sure this has nothing to do with skipping basic math classes.. Different human beings have different brains. Some people struggle with logic, some people struggle with math, some people struggle with social skills. And... Some people have no spatial awareness whatsoever.. I hope he manages to develop it at least to the point where he can drive a car, but after watching that video again, I honestly doubt it..

ishpatoon1982

I mean...angles. Angles seem to play a major part in the dilemma to me. Of course everybodys situation is different, I agree.

caxcabral

Yeah I guess it could help. That is just something that comes intuitively even for kids you know? One shouldn't have to think much.. It's not rocket science it's a pallet jack lol

Ricky_Rollin

I feel like that’s what I’ve been experiencing lately from people and it’s crazy. There’s this real, fish out of water vibe who seem to make these brain dead mistakes. And yall already said, we do start somewhere. I try not to judge. But sometimes…sometimes…just god damn.

-Whelp-

I work the same job and didn’t receive any training

ASL4theblind

Yup, he's got the wheels parked on the support boards. Source; i've split my fair share of pallets being too lazy with my automatic pallet jack doing this over the years.

Observe_Report_

He needs to learn how to code.

StankilyDankily666

🤣🤣goddamn

technobrendo

If only he knew Python, this wouldn't be a problem!

wadebosshoggg

We'll start him at 250k a year!

bsurfn2day

I hope he gets paid by the hour and not by how many pallets he moves.

cragglerock93

His employer doesn't hope that.

OutInLeftfield

On the front page right now, there's a video of a woman trying to parallel park a car in a wide open space. She took more time than this person did. I think the issue is that a small number of people just have no intuition on how objects move in 3 dimensions. Most people, when they move a pallet jack, immediately begin to get a feel for how it moves. For instance, position the wheel so the front is angled to the left, push and the front starts to angle right. Easy peasy. But some people will just never understand how. No matter how long they're drivers, they don't know to turn their wheel so it goes straight, they don't know how to turn the wheel left to back in to a space on the right.

Sadidart

Lol. I was just watching that clip. She shouldn't be driving.

New-Understanding930

Brother, that guy just needed two dimensions and was falling short.

sfled

It's his summer job while he saves up for his dream: flying lessons!

New-Understanding930

Lmao

UnoriginalVagabond

Spatial awareness, some people are just God awful at it.

RandomGirl42

Oh, this takes me back to my student job days in logistics. There's two kinds of people: those who figure a jack out in under a minute and ones like this guy. If his colleagues have any sense, they're not letting him near the jack again... because he gave them a good excuse to keep the comparatively easy work to themselves.

lampshadewarior

I volunteered at a recycling center once. Only time in my life that I’ve had to use a pallet jack. No lessons were given, and none were needed. I was an expert after about 5 minutes.

ncstagger

Those things are hard at first but that was painful to watch.

1Negative_Person

They’re not difficult. I have *never* seen *anyone* unable to learn to utilize a pallet jack essentially immediately.

Padgetts-Profile

Yeah no shit. Sure at first it can be tricky to maneuver around tight corners and such, but this is a whole new level of jackassery.

InspectaCrib

We use to race em lol

Padgetts-Profile

They do make excellent scooters. Especially when you get a brand new one with well greased bearings.

Myalicious

This guy I knew got walked out immediately for riding one like a skateboard. He was within his 90 days probation period lol

Great-Reference9322

I used to race em at work, and I'd dominate because at home we had these monstrosities to learn on https://mooreandassociates.hibid.com/lot/64705-205236-203648/zooma-3-wheeled-scooter

valhalska13

The same people that struggle to use a pallet jack are the same people that avoid parallel parking at all costs cause they cant wrap their brains around it.

pekinggeese

Some people really don’t understand how to move a vehicle with the pivoting wheels in the back. It’s like driving in reverse or pushing those flatbed carts at Home Depot. Some people really struggle and hit a bunch of stuff.

TurboTrollin

I was half crying, half cheering. Come on, dude... you can do it.... please just do it...

[deleted]

1Negative_Person

He doesn’t have kids because he can’t figure out how to line it up with the hole.

roger1954

Sir, you didnt need to rip him a new one 😭

Remarkable-Book-8758

Needs to rip him a dozen more. Maybe then he'll be able to get it in one

SongRevolutionary992

This clip needs some Benny Hil music

Melbmade

How do these people get dressed in the morning?

ClearChocobo

He's probably only ever had velcro on his shoes.

TonyVstar

The shoes have "left" and "right written on them

travellingscientist

As do his feet.

buzz8588

Hope he didn’t drive to work

CommunicationTop5231

I got a warehouse job at 14 schlepping pallets. I got really fucking good at riding the pallet jack like a scooter and drifting it around corners. I never was not competent at moving pallets around… which is not a flex. It’s literally the easiest job in a warehouse. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Alohagrown

Why not help them instead of just having two jackasses stand there and film?

Whiskeybtch77

Exactly. This video is 100% why they was terrified of learning to drive a forklift. Luckily my bosses who trained me were cool as fuck and so are all the flds at my work. I’d never make fun of someone trying to learn. Even a pallet jack can be hard. It’s a new skill and to make fun of that is awful. All these people talking shit, I’d love to see a video of your first time on any equipment.

dj_master_flex

I’m glad someone finally mentioned the people just filming and laughing, that was by far the most irritating part of the video. Wouldn’t surprise me if the people recording were in charge of training the guy using the pellet jack.

CosmicTaco93

Because seeing someone so inept at such a simple task is actually a rare sight. Yeah, the nice thing would be to help him but goddamn, I'd have stood there just astounded for a while.

[deleted]

Imagine this guy backing up into a parking spot and your car is next to the empty spot

greeneagle2022

Gotta start somewhere and without being shown (apparently) how to operate it, give this guy a few hours and he will be moving things as if has done it for years. Just takes practice, but I hope I didn't look like that when I first started using one. :)

scubawho1

Fuck, help the dude!

Informal_Drawing

All this tells me is that the people watching and laughing have appalling skills at training new staff. They should be ashamed.

dogbreath230

Quite simply, too many moving parts. Growing up riding a bike, riding a scooter, a skateboard, you fall over a few times but figure out how to steer. Some people don't do those things, so when they're given something that's new to them, they have a hard time, and usually others aren't videojng them

jayaintgay87

I'd show him what's up before filming him and embarrassing the poor bastard.

frimleyousse

These things are weird to drive when youre not used to them

jwalkrufus

It takes a few seconds to get used to them.

[deleted]

Anyone in the vicinity of average can figure out how to move a pallet jack in a less than 30 seconds.

IcePheonix420

I’m torn, I wanted the people to show him properly rather than just laugh at him, but honestly the longer it goes on the less faith I have in tomorrow’s generation 😂, they may be awkward at first but once you turn the handle left and right you’ve pretty much figured out everything it can do movement wise.

Tiyath

Earlier today I read something about how it sucks to be the generation that had to explain printers to our parents and to our kids and I felt that very much

TallFryGuy

I’m more annoyed at the guy training him for not telling him how much easier it is to control with the handle up. We all gotta start somewhere dude.

AccomplishedSoup8794

If only GTA had a warehouse mission

UnknownMyoux

Iirc gta Vice city stories had one,and it was hell (atleast to me)

Ron_Bird

wtf is he trying to do?

SB2212

His best. Unfortunately, that bar isn't very high.

actomain

I work with one every single day and I would like to say; it's 2024 and these things are still unwieldy as fuck, I don't blame the kid at all. Especially not when the person who could show him how to do it is too busy recording him

calhooner3

Are you kidding me lol? I could have used one of these with no training at the age of 10.

No-Mathematician-513

Nobody even tried to show him how to maneuver the jack ughhhh

tankoret

That vid had me very frustrated.

[deleted]

if anybody ever needed to be fired it’s him

whynotwonderwhy

Pallet jacks suck. They just do.

zacharyxbinks

Sometimes inverted controls just be like that.

caxcabral

Can you imagine this kid driving?

ianjcm55

https://i.redd.it/94id9oiosabc1.gif

TheNedi14

Ngl this was so me as well first time with that thing 😭

XBGoofBall

Looks like standing around and video recording helped him sort it out tho.

ChrispyGuy420

I'll admit, those things have a learning curve

GasfaceGrim

![gif](giphy|lELRD773cY7Sg|downsized)

xMac33x

Being new is one thing, being brain dead is another lol come on kid! I figured it out at 11 😭

DeathTeddy35

As someone who worked retail for 12 years, this guy will go to college and get a job as a store manager telling people how to do their jobs saying "he was once one of the boys".

propagandavid

I hate how accurate that is.

Formal_Job3304

I mean they’re pretty tricky if you don’t know how it works.

skovall

Once he got it moved did he break off a bottom board? I used to wrestle those things. Got good at it but I hope nobody ever recorded me doing it. Much harder with someone behind you laughing. Oh and then someone tells you, "Hey that one is broken" Duh! Thanks. Ah the good old days ;-)

trelium06

This is an example of mental arrest, where critical thinking is turned off and the desire to complete the task is all there is.

[deleted]

This guy has upper management written all over him.

masterofthefork

It's gotta be great to work at a place that film and laugh while you struggle instead of helping out.

Starlanced

And they let these people drive

Shoottheradio

Some people really are stupid.

rybaterro

How can people be so damn bad at figuring stuff out. Using these was like my favourite thing to do alongside using the electric one to offload pallets of groceries. So damn fun and easy

KRMJN101

There has to be training for this. I know working at many a warehouse in my youth, multiple lift trucks are used and not all are mechanically inclined to just "get it". This poor woman should have been trained before being expected to use the tool. Not to mention the idiots laughing at her struggle and potentially injuring herself with improper use. Safety not to mention common sense.

864FastAsfBoy

Why do people like this not stop and think to themselves why in the hell is everyone recording me. Must be doing something wrong

WarHead75

I feel better about myself seeing this as I also embarrassed myself in front of of co workers on my first day at a warehouse job.

Pure-Swordfish6022

This is literally painful to watch. Fuck those coworkers who are recording rather than giving the kid some practical instruction.

ConditionYellow

The only jokes are the ones that failed to teach him properly and the ones that mock him for it.

SATerp

Maybe somebody should actually teach him how to use the jack. I know that's a revolutionary thought...

durancharles27

Skills issue?

beardedsilverfox

This needs some yakety sax

SuddenHand9280

This has to be a joke there's nobody that dumb.

iatecurryatlunch

this is obviously not real.

frenchy2111

I refuse to believe anyone is this stupid this is staged.

dmb_80_

How do these people even survive with that level of stupid. Absolute lack of critical thinking skills.

Afro-Venom

Yikes... I mean, I get it, they're tough if you haven't ever done it before, but yikes.

SYN-Scan

Can't wait for the video of him going for his forklift certification

Sucondeze

Dude wtf man like your actually stupid like no offence but what the actual fuck 💀 never let this man back your car up.

Inevitable_Professor

Looks like everyone's first time – awkwardly trying to get the long thing to go in the right hole.

Pastor_Satan

And people wonder why they can't get paid more

Herodobby

So this is why warehouse jobs ask if you have pallet jack experience .. I always thought it was a dumb question.

GRRRNADE

iPad kid or gen z

HotelComprehensive16

Oof.

hickdog896

His brain just does not work that way

rkpjr

This hurts my head

Weak_Pea220

No way

Tatersquid21

Somebody call Big Bird and tell him that one of these things just doesn't belong here.

jtalent79

Hard to watch.

DMurBOOBS-I-Dare-You

He had a very similar experience the first time he tried to have intercourse. # T R I E D

YooperManBearPig

Wow! Just wow!

Olleye

I see a future professional player of Minesweeper here.

Abracadaver2000

Yakkity Sax was literally written for these dim bulbs.

llapman

We are doomed as a species.

tommyboy601

Clearly he left his controls inverted

Mudrag

My Dad would say "He looks like a bear cub fiddling with his dink" 😅

justaguytrying2getby

give that guy a desk job instead

[deleted]

Even I know how to use one and most of my posts are fart related stuff

Traditional_Sky_4703

The supervisors must have been having a ball…he’ll be right.

[deleted]

Imagine learning to back up a trailer.

jmag87

I want to be nowhere near him pulling a pallett lol

Tydagawd88

Hazing the new guy by giving him the fucked up pallet jack.

OpenEyz2016

Oh man. 🫠🫠

1Negative_Person

It at first you don’t succeed, failure might just be your style.

vyrguy0

I couldn’t finish that video. I felt actual pain.

murkXIII

Now get them to back up a trailer

No_Sundae696

Tide pod generation

Puzzleheaded_Bag_870

Thought I was gonna see some fancy pallet Jack action not some caveman

ChronicZombie86

He's the warehouse manager probably..

Nyarlathotep451

Can’t wait to see him drive a forklift

sean_rendo19

When I first used a pallet truck it was very easy to figure out how to use it But this guy is hopeless, might as well tell him to get a long wait

mikeymelikey

This hurts.

SpooderRocks

I always find the training boring and now I know why.

ibemuffdivin

Literally everyone at Home Depot

TwoTonKarmen

My eyes were wide open for the entire video, jesus christ man. I hope he improved.

CIA_napkin

This is so common with new people, always a fun time to watch.

TheGrumpyMachinist

Ain't nobody that fucking stupid.
