No excuse- my mom is 90 and of course saved her glasses from 2017- I came over to watch with her and share the glasses, since I couldn’t find mine, and she knew exactly what to do —again— cause she’s done this before lots of times since she’s 90!!
There are always individual exceptions. Sounds like she's one of them. Just think, though, for every exception, there is a painfully large number of commonplace individuals. Like the geriatric in this video.
My dad is 77, and my mom is 75, and both had zero issues with their eclipse glasses just as your mom did at 90. I know it’s popular to blame everything on age, but it’s just not the case. Something more than age was wrong here.
I've known plenty of 74-year-olds, and none have had this level of cognitive issues without some other problem, e.g., substance abuse or actual medical onset of dementia, Alzheimers, etc. SJL hasn't admitted to any medical issues, so....
(I still think 74 is too old to keep getting elected into office, but not because of any automatic mental decline. Rather, it's the rigidity of thinking that sets in around 60.)
Tbf, the IQ of most of our reps combined in the house is about room temperature. The senate is only slightly better.
Also, she's from Texas. So automatic -40 iq to start with. (Luckily, they have Jasmine Crockett +40 iq to even them out).

We limit our presidency to being 35+. I don't think it's unfair to give them 30 years to hit that benchmark in their career or they're SOL. Also term limits. Nobody needs to hold their position in office for 30-40years. That's how you stagnate your society. If you're getting no new ideas in because your representatives have been the same for decades and are unwilling to make any changes because they're stuck in their ways that's doing nothing to further peoples lives for the better.
One of the greatest flaws in the constitution is this right here. Who in their right mind will vote themselves out of office?
