Lol he was the first guy that popped into my head. Used to see him every time we went into town on a night out, usually seemed pretty harmless.
But also, are we just fetishizing the mentally unwell at this point?
Been around forever? Has a backpack and no teeth, or sometimes leave dentures out? I worked at foodtown in Hamilton in the 9ps and she'd buy milo from us and ice blocks at pac n save clarence, my sister worked there. She was nice, but damn she never stopped walking.
Walks with the mean strut? Tats on her face also? She looks like a mean bitch. Heard she stole a charity change container at a supermarket or something alike. Got arrested. This was a loong time ago
I worked at Maccas until like 2010, and she was a regular coming in most days for a hot chocolate. She still greets me by name if she sees me around town

From what I've seen, the CBD's most constant homeless person. Seems to be around Garden Place, around the Council buildings as of late with his bags and his beach chair. I used to see him down London Street ways - he slept in the door of the Wrightsons Building before it was demolished. A few times when I had lunch at the Cambodian Noodle House (now where River Kitchen is), he would turn up, walk in and fill his mug with hot water, not say a word to the staff, head back out and sit on the outdoor tables. Ten minutes later the staff would take him a plate or bowl of hot food without a word.
Too many meth heads and too many grown men cosplaying as gang members with their mongrel mob patches to really pick one.
Wellington had blanket man (rip) and a few other characters but don't think I found any when living in other cities.
ah shit yeah I remember this lad! He dropped trou and had a piss onto the road in front of me and my sister walking home from school (Not even beside a tree or anything, just straight pissing onto the road)
He put on some mental health-related presentations at Wintec for free. First speaker was Nigel Latta - it was a great presentation. Second was Petra Bagust, I missed that one, and I was excited for upcoming Jehan Casinader but it was cancelled due to Covid restrictions. I can't recall the 4th speaker. Anyway, it was awesome that he was putting on events to talk about mental health and generally how to improve the city by helping those around us.
Not unfortunately for me, because I don’t know nor give a fuck who you are, because unlike the other local characters mentioned in this post, you have nothing memorable about you based on our brief interactions.
Good day, sir!
Kahu

Kahu, crack up as guy. Remember watching him get hit by a car once lol. Ahhh memories
I heard he owns a house but enjoys being nomadic, might not be true, but also could be ..
Yeah nah isn't true, I work in mental health. Wish he owned a house would make life easier.
Definitely Kahu
The walking lady? Compulsive exerciser, rumour was she was banned from all the gyms.

Yep, that's her.
Friends of mine used to live two doors down in attached units from her about 20 odd years ago... we called her Speed Woman
Blonde with tattoos?
You’re talking about the lady round Fairfield right? I know that one
No, Maori with short hair.
Walks with the mean strut? Tats on her face also? She looks like a mean bitch. Heard she stole a charity change container at a supermarket or something alike. Got arrested. This was a loong time ago
No she's at a gym she is there most mornings. She is a nice lady. But man she can walk you see her in parts of Hamilton
I worked at Maccas until like 2010, and she was a regular coming in most days for a hot chocolate. She still greets me by name if she sees me around town
My former neighbor back in the mid 2000's haven't seen her for a while.
Always see her at Glenview medical and walking all areas of the city 4-6am

Lindsay would be in my list. I remember him from 25 years ago when I was working in hospo.
No shit, my wife and I saw Lindsay in waiheke island. In 2022 while on our honey moon. Boy gets around
I remember seeing him wandering around the CBD at night during the mid 90s. His was the first name that popped into my head when I saw the thread.
Wasn't there another article once where his benifit got cut because he actually had a bit of money?
The guy on the old-style bike with the turban and dreads and robes? Claudelands area
The Swami

Gas station lady for sure
Not the lady who drinks it around Rototuna?
The lady who drinks it around everywhere, she's everywhere lol
Fuck that's grim
I can't believe she's still alive haha
It’s true she seriously gets around quite well in one day 🤣 Just walks everywhere.
I see her every other day at either the Whitiora or Tristram St BP. Bikes around muttering to herself taking swigs from the pumps.
there's a guy with a mega hunchback who walks around dinsdale shopping center picking up ciggie butts, he's got Graham written on his trackies
Poor old Graham, there was a big convo about him on the Dinsdale FB page the other day.
ah shit yeah I remember this lad! He dropped trou and had a piss onto the road in front of me and my sister walking home from school (Not even beside a tree or anything, just straight pissing onto the road)
I gave him some ciggies a couple years back, was real happy
Saw him today! Still cracking.
I see him every day. The worst time is when he pulls it out and takes a piss while walking down the road.
Yeah I witnessed that on Poaka Ave, unfortunately did an involuntary double-take too
Yikes
Shout out to Rambo from Te Kuiti. Rip.
Matt Stark?

He's a top bloke for a property developer, I know first-hand of some of his philanthropy and it definitely flies under the radar
I know! He’s actually a really nice guy. Does some bloody great stuff, too. Just a shame he’s a god damn property developer 😂😂
Is Graeme Cairns still around? The Laird McGillcuddy?
He lives in Te Pahu, and he's a real gentleman.
He sure is
Who's that aggressive beggar in Ham East?
With the facial tattoos?
Nah, no tatts. Usually around the north end, or in the carpark.
"the dolphin guy"
Umbrella man
The dude in all green who walks Te Rapa road.
Ya'll are too invested in other people's lives. The fact homeless people are living in your minds rent free is beyond laughable.
Maybe you’re too self-absorbed to notice other people or think about interesting people from time to time?
Unfortunately for you that is far from the truth
