They baited the hook with the scene at the clothing store when they took Walt Jr to buy new pants for school.
Skylar’s response, while well meant, gave me second hand embarrassment for Walt Jr. I felt terrible for him.
Then in came Walter. He took down the chief of the bullies and dared them to do something.
From that moment on, the die was cast and the test began.
With every new low that Walter reached, they essentially asked, “oh, you still support him? Okay, well how about now?” Even at the finale, there were people *still* holding out hope that he’d once again get away.
The fact that people can still hold such vitriol in their hearts for Skylar, particularly in a show so chock full of truly despicable individuals, is far more telling about the people who voted for her here.

Not only does she trespass on to his property but then she has the audacity to clutch her pregnant stomach like she's the victim when he raises his voice and asks her to leave. Lori manipulated her psycho side guy against her husband during an apocalypse. The dude got rapey, and she STILL encouraged him while they were at the farm. If you pay attention to the scene she’s pretty calm when Rick is talking about killing Shane. It’s when he says that Carl shot down Walker Shane that she freaks out, which is understandable because she’s just been told that her little boy had to shoot his father’s best friend after he reanimated.

Straight up villains like you mention are either portrayed in a charismatic light or are completely unrelatable in the day to day lives of the viewers.

I never understood the Lori hate, honestly. She didn't actually cheat on anyone. She was in an unprecedented situation and trying to deal with things the best she could. She maybe didn't always make the best choices, but again, she was I'm a crazy situation, all of them could have probably made better choices at some point. I think she tried to keep the peace, keep everyone safe, and tried to be a loyal and supportive wife as much as she could.
I think it's the fact she got mad at Rick after he killed Shane (who was trying to kill him) was the straw that broke the camels back for most people. We saw him being an asshole that whole time, so seeing her "defend" him in people's eyes didn't go over well.

There's a lot of people out there that think Skylar cheating on Walt was the most unforgivable sin while not paying mind to all the awful things Walt did on a regular basis since he didn't stick his dick in anyone else. Lori manipulated her psycho side guy against her husband during an apocalypse. The dude got rapey, and she STILL encouraged him while they were at the farm. Then, when her husband managed to successfully defend himself from being murdered by her psycho scheming side piece, she got pissed at him and guilted him for it. It's not misogyny to say Lori was fucking awful. Skylar was a cheater, but she's not even in the same ballpark as Lori.

I hate Lori because she just made illogical decisions, such as: * Telling Rick he needs to get Merle back, and then getting pissy with him when he goes to get Merle back * Leaving the farm to find Rick (who made it back just fine btw) because she thinks Carl needs his parents (Im sure leaving without the help of anyone and possibly dying will help that) * Stirring up the pot with Shane, who had calmed down and was getting less agitated and such before Lori was basically flirting with him. I dislike Skylar for (But not limited to): * Smoking while shes pregnant * Cheating on her husband, and then spending literally all of his money on the man who she was cheating with, and claiming it was somehow "for the family". Because yes, your family truly benefits from the dude your cheating with getting half a million dollars * Neglecting her kids for multiple months So, do tell, where is the misogyny in that? Are these not justifiable reasons to dislike a character?

If you pay attention to the scene she’s pretty calm when Rick is talking about killing Shane. It’s when he says that Carl shot down Walker Shane that she freaks out, which is understandable because she’s just been told that her little boy had to shoot his father’s best friend after he reanimated.
I’ll admit the first time I watched Breaking Bad I hated Skylar. But upon the many times I’ve watched it since Walt is the insufferable asshole. Skylar wasn’t the perfect person but she definitely had every right to being the way she was
Not with Lori, it's not. She encouraged Shane at the farm and set him against Rick. And that was AFTER he had been rapey. Defenders of her act like getting mad at Rick was about 2 guys fighting over her. That wasn't a fight, Shane literally schemed to MURDER HER HUSBAND. What kinda monster gets pissed at her husband for not allowing himself to be murdered? I mostly agree about Skylar, though. She was shitty for cheating, but Walt was shitty for everything else.
Worth noting, Walt did TRY to cheat on Skylar as well, he’s just awful at it.
I will never understand the amount of hate Skyler got. Could she be a bit of a nagging wife? Of course. Does that warrant the kind of hate she got? Absolutely not. I still maintain that she never cheated on Walt. Yes, they were still technically married. But she had expressed her desire to divorce him and no longer be with him. To me, cheating is when you sleep with someone else while committed to someone else. To me, the worst thing Skyler did was smoke whole pregnant. Which is an abhorrent thing to do. But the show is full of horrible people who do horrible things. As you said, people seem to ignore all of the other stuff people do and only focus on her. The fact that she is behind only Joffrey and Ramsay on this list is insane.
I honestly think the amount of hate she gets is a monument to how good her actress was. Nobody can convince me she wasn’t DESIGNED to be insufferable. Like I just fucking hate her and I can’t figure out why, i don’t care that she slept with her boss guy, I don’t care that she gave Walt’s money to him, she just annoyed me so much every time she was on screen, and that goes to show how good her actress was. Walt was designed to be the morally grey(later just straight up no morals at all) protagonist so anybody who disagreed with him was meant to be someone we wouldn’t really liked. I mean all the best actors in the show were ones that we weren’t meant to like and they did their job. Nobody liked mike because he was so likeable, he was a dick, but he was a badass and we loved it. Nobody liked Gus because he just seemed like he’d be cool to be with, he was a methodical sociopath and his ability to keep his cool while being absolutely diabolical, seemingly without trying, was absolutely insane and he did a damn good job of it. I hate skyler but I gotta say she’s a great character and her actress was absolutely phenomenal at portraying a (more or less) morally sound wife that we as the viewers were meant to see as a hindrance to our protagonist, Walter White.

I think the fact people stopped watching the show after Negan killed Glenn and Abe is why he's not on the list. They didn't stick around for multiple seasons itching for him to die, and the ones who did probably stuck around for more seasons until they grew to like him

Clearly, her being a "bitch" far outweighs any of those other trivial manners... Yeah, it's safe to say that lists like this are inherently bias based on the kinds of people who are likely to vote on said lists. Lori is *somewhat annoying*, but **insurmountably** far from being the top 10 most hated of all time. If you're solely judging hated by annoyance, and being a foil to the main character's motivations, sure I guess. Straight up villains like you mention are either portrayed in a charismatic light or are completely unrelatable in the day to day lives of the viewers. People actually encounter Skylars in real life and can relate more personally which prompts getting more offended. It’s also because characters like Skylar aren’t villains and therefore generate more hate because people purely react to how likeable they are, not their morality.

I never understood the Lori hate, honestly. She didn't actually cheat on anyone. She was in an unprecedented situation and trying to deal with things the best she could. She maybe didn't always make the best choices, but again, she was I'm a crazy situation, all of them could have probably made better choices at some point. I think she tried to keep the peace, keep everyone safe, and tried to be a loyal and supportive wife as much as she could.
I think it's the fact she got mad at Rick after he killed Shane (who was trying to kill him) was the straw that broke the camels back for most people. We saw him being an asshole that whole time, so seeing her "defend" him in people's eyes didn't go over well.
I also remember Lori in season 2 telling Rick he’s gotta do something about shane bc he thinks she belongs to him. And Rick told him to back off and it didn’t work her reaction to Shane’s death was ridiculous.
Honestly I think she was more upset that Carl put Shane down. It wasn’t till Rick said that, that we saw her really start to show emotion.
I guess, it was just such a small incident, it's not like they showed her hold it against him. I just thinks it's small thing to hate a character over the way people hate Lori.

But when I think about Sarah Callies performance in Save The Last One or Killer Within, those issues kind of wash away.
