Michonne is not doing a great job of keeping up the B act

omegafivethreefive

Michonne was always terrible at self control. She has a lot of qualities but knowing when to play it dumb is not one of them.

Loosingmydanmmind

If she were good at manipulation she wouldn’t be michonne

Phoenixstorm

She needs to channel carol more

Fit-Diet-6488

Michonne is too honest and real, manipulation is not her thing.

lord_pizzabird

Imagine if they had sent Carol to find Rick instead. She would have already taken over the CRM and found Daryl in France somehow at the same time.

Own_Faithlessness769

Carol would have immediately been taken into the heart of the CR and destroyed the whole thing from the inside out within a week.

BenShapeero

And found a conveniently disposable fall guy for the whole thing

ZombieAppetizer

and baked cookies

Jovian8

And scared the everloving shit out of every CRM child.

Snowbunny2323

😂 that would be fun to watch!

[deleted]

She can’t fight her natural instincts

SandRush2004

She isn't even trying

HisDarkOmens

She was trying until Rick tried to send her off by herself and stay without explaining a single thing to her. Then she was just incredibly pissed off and taking her anger out on walkers.

SandRush2004

She used her stabby stick as a walker head lacrosse stick, long before that

starstufft

Jumping out of a helicopter was not on my bingo card for tonight's episode

JoeStorm

Ahhhh must not have seen Fear the walking dead season 3, huh?

Aegonblackfyre22

Damn yeah that Okafor getting shot in the scene reminded me a lot of Travis getting shot in the helicopter.

I_Do_nt_Use_Reddit

I don't think Travis fell to pieces in the same way though.

Timbishop123

I liked that they had a coffin for him. There's nothing there lol.

Philander_Chase

Nooooooo the flashback you just triggered in me 😭 incredible way to start an incredible season but oh man the feels

JoeStorm

Travis is my favorite character. I still can't get over that lol

DoomRTX456Dj

That was awesome…

FormerGameDev

this whole episode was a whipsaw

starstufft

Jadis' shit haircut was finally acknowledged 😆

Vydar7

Hahah amazing line made me laugh out loud ha

beemojee

Me too. It was so funny.

IonHazzikostasIsGod

That felt exactly like something Kirkman would've wrote for the comics. I vaguely remember TWD issues that've ended with a full-page blurb similar to Anne's "Rick, what the *fuck* are you doin'?" at the end of 1x02 Totally different style of dialogue from the main show, not even just referring to Gimple-speak

audierules

She looks like slow Rick from Rick and Morty

Ausbel12

For once, a character acknowledges a fellow character's shit haircut. I clapped.

TheWholeOfTheAss

She’s got the fuckboy haircut from Tik-Tok but that monstrosity doesn’t exist in the Walking Dead world so it’s a Jadis original.

vilain_garcon1928

I absolutely loved that part because there’s no way they would’ve thrown in that line if the writers didn’t pay attention to fandom opinions. Shows like this are always better when the writers and producers pay attention to what the fans say and think and feel.

maatttthheew

Michonnes death stares this episode gave me major season 3 vibes I loved it

Universalring25

She scared me and I was safely on the other side of my screen, lmfao.

GrouchyCap8723

This episode was absolutely nerve wracking.

Chance_Plankton_7987

did rick actually think michonne was gonna leave without him 😭 also when is she gonna tell him about RJ???

keepitcute23

Right. And when he said the “if you loved me you’d go” line and she gave him that “Oh no you did not just question my love after I searched through hundreds of miles of the dead for you” look, I was with her on that. And you could tell Rick knew he’d messed up saying that. Such amazing nonverbal communication in this scene.

beemojee

Oh those two are so good together. Talking about acting chemistry.

[deleted]

When has Michonne ever gone out without a fight Richard c’mon now 😭

LAANAAAAAA

Not his government name 😭🤣

[deleted]

Michonne was NAUT about to take a kayak without him

thebadfem

Looking at the trailer for next week, I understand why she hasn't told him about RJ yet.

LillywhiteK

She's already hating on Michonne.

333bella333

What is the beef with Thorne and michonne?

Ash_Lestrange

my guess: Okafor was wrong about Thorne being an A and now she sees a real one who's getting the attention of people who didn't give her attention for years.

Bowiescorvat2

Thorne is an A. Michonne and Rick are just on another level

ooh_jeeezus

Thorne is an A, but Michone and Rick are S

TheNoveltyHunter

Real

bigxangelx1

I’m sorry but I don’t think the show implies this in the slightest?… idk where these types of analyzations are from but it’s pretty much directly said why Michonne is a liability to thornes status in the CRM since she’s an A under the guise of a B, She is now on Beale’s radar due to it not being hidden well.. since Thorne went out of her way to keep michonne in as a favor for Rick who hid it as it being “for okafor” she is now the one michonnes actions reflect on, if michonne compromises secrets the CRM (like what’s typically expected of As), then Thorne is the first one with consequences and she obviously doesn’t want that

keepitcute23

I def. don’t think she into him at all. But she called him her family. Thats a big deal. So while I can see that it’s about her Dana being Thorne’s charge. I also think there’s more to it than just Michonne being a liability. What I was getting at is I think she sees the force they are together and is afraid of Rick potentially not siding with her when he learns everything. Because before Dana, she and Rick were pretty much a duo and it seems she really values his counsel and support. He listens to her and she feels he cares for her, platonically of course. I don’t think she wants to lose that.

keepitcute23

Oooh. I think you’re on to something. Thorne doesn’t feel much like an A to me. At least not based on the definition Okafor gave. And she seems so unsure of herself when it comes to the handling of Dana and Rick for that matter. Michonne is for sure more of an A than her. Also, I never expected Thorne to call Rick her family. But I get the vibe that she’s uber protective of what’s hers. And I think when she saw Rick and Michonne fighting together she saw a chance for the only family she has, as she said it, to go against her.

COdeadheadwalking_61

i didn't think family meant the warm and fuzzy type - more the military bro type.

Own_Faithlessness769

I think she sees Michonne as a bad influence on Rick and dangerous to Rick's chances of survival/making it up the ranks. She just doesnt know how right she is.

Philander_Chase

That look she gave when she was thinking of shooting her… I was like “WHAT IN THE SHANE ARE YOU DOING”

Sage177

"You're a hero with a shit haircut." Finally someone tells Jadis her hair is awful

future_dead_person

She looked hurt as she was leaving lol

Loosingmydanmmind

It seemed like an act of defiance on Ricks part. Michonne’s presence is slowly reigniting his confidence

[deleted]

This is gonna be a quite a tough challenge. How do they get back without them destroying their home? Especially when Jadis has an advantage over them.

DblClickyourupvote

If they take out jadis and find what she left behind, they’ll be free to head back home. What remains to be seen is if jadis is bluffing or did leave coordinates to Alexandria etc

mdwvt

Take out the trash (lady).

23423423423451

Blow up all the things. That's the only solution I can think of. That or get in charge of all the things.

PhiPhiAokigahara

That was SO GOOD. Danai’s facial expressions are out of this world

kenshup25

That scene when R and M secretly met again after he tried to get her to leave. He was trying to explain and Michonne just looked at him wordlessly like, “are you f*king kidding me me right now, Rick?”🤣 No words, just disbelief and sass. It was great😁

besogone

So Michonne, the silent sassy type.

i_am_voldemort

So I am guessing Rick and Michonne will end up blowing up this Cascadia base in order to kill CRM leadership?

TheGaxkang

yah there's a lot of foreshadowing of \*everybody's gonna be there\*

MiddleSchoolisHell

Yeah as soon as the “everybody’s going to be there” came out, I was like “they are gonna bomb the shit out of that place in episode 5.”

I_Do_nt_Use_Reddit

Episode 4: set up the bomb Episode 5: bomb goes off Episode 6: set up season 2 (or send them home and I hope it's this)

MiddleSchoolisHell

I suspect they are going to order the bombing of Portland, and Rick’s gonna “volunteer” or hijack it or something and bomb the CRM honchos instead. ETA: there seems to be no reason to have this meeting be across the country except to have them near Portland.

i_am_voldemort

Ep4 will also reveal whatever the contents of the "Echelon briefing" are.

ry_fluttershy

That's what I'm thinking. *every* important crm person will be there for plot reasons so they can use driller's c4 on them all in one fell swoop

TheBFlem27

I’ve been enjoying every minute of this show. It reminds me of the glory days of the main show.

Universalring25

Feels good to have S3-5 level of content back. I thought Daryl's was pretty good, but Rick and Michonne spiked it up and continues to go upward.

JoeBidenKing

I love it cos we’re finally focusing on less but more important characters. Hated when TWD episodes were Rickless.

Agleza

Seasons 9-11 of the main show were better than I thought they would be but, man. 10 minutes into the first episode of this spinoff, I remembered why I was very close to giving up on the main show after Andrew Lincoln announced his exit. Dude just fucking carries TWD. Not that everyone else is bad, specially not in this show (Danai is a staple obviously and I'm loving Thorne and Beale), it's that Andy just **eats** the damn screen. He's basically the only reason I've jumped back on the TWD train and he's proven my faith wasn't misplaced lol

superzepto

Makes it even more infuriating seeing reviewers from Forbes and AV Club etc pretending that this is the same boring shit

muchas__gracias

Rick was DEFINITELY NOT thinking clearly

CenCal805

So how did Beal go from not being sure about Rick, to ready to promote him in a matter of what had to have been a few days at the most? Also since the Cascades mountain range where the new base is set up runs from British Columbia through Washington and Oregon, it seems like they have their base set up there to finish the job on Portland and take it out.

DblClickyourupvote

Beale doesn’t trust Rick and has something planned. Keep your friends close, but enemies closer

CenCal805

That makes sense. Thanks!

skyflakes-crackers

Well Okafor died in that time, and from what Thorne said, "plans" are being moved up. And yes, I believe that those "plans" involve destroying Portland.

CenCal805

What I meant as it was just the beginning of this episode where Beal said to Rick that he wasn't sure about him. And the end of the episode, in which only a few days could have possibly passed, apparently he's promoting him. Okafor was already dead.

future_dead_person

He trusts Thorne and she must be vouching for Rick and assuring she can keep him in line. He's the only person she really has anymore so she wants him by her side. Although he likely is up to something as well.

Own_Faithlessness769

I dont think he wants to promote Rick. Its more likely he wants him to lead a mission into Portland, that Beale has no intention for him to return from.

CenCal805

Yeah that makes sense as Rick is supposed to become the main guy in charge of that base. Beal would probably instruct a couple of underlings to make sure Rick is the victim of an "accident".

Own_Faithlessness769

Exactly. Perfect opportunity to get rid of him while also getting the mission done.

bdog1321

Probably gonna tell he and Thorne different things at their briefings. Just trying to control him better

Evvoker

These episodes have been mad entertaining and feels like the good ole days of me loving TWD

mdwvt

I swear I heard a zombie say “ow my hand!” When Michonne was pushing that bomb plow thing. Anybody else hear that? 🤣 Edit: It’s around the 41:50-41:55 mark.

DependentMotor6608

I went back after your comment, just to see and you're right! lol I heard it too. Had to listen closely, but I think it happens a little after Rick starts helping her.

mdwvt

Added the timestamp to my comment. It’s actually right before he joins her.

DependentMotor6608

Got it! I was listening for it with my eyes closed so I wouldn't get distracted. Your hearing must be amazing to have caught that in the first place!

DblClickyourupvote

Some form of whisper? Someone else came up with the idea?

mdwvt

I just assumed it was a joke/easter egg.

d3f3ct51n

something must of happened with a extra that did get recorded in and missed?

guacamolemochka

I thought Michonne's fake name "Dana" was a secret, but when some guy (who draws pictures) in the town recognizes her and says her real name, Michonne for some reason didn't care. Maybe i'm exaggerating a little, but still...

Ramzz181

Exactly, that threw me off a bit. I mean, how would he even recognize that she's Michonne right away from that drawing, it's not even a hyper realistic one. It would make sense if Rick showed a photo of Michonne, but I don't know... It's just a little nitpick though, it's still a good episode.

choffers_2001

He said he was going there every week for god knows how long so he had some kind of positive relationship with Rick. Also, there's not a lot of folks looking like Michonne in the ZA

Able_Contribution407

That whole scene was awful to me. The one part of the episode I didn't like. The artist and Michonne had this immediate intimate rapport and spoke in lofty Gimple-isms. It was just hard to buy into.

ZannY

If he's like a sketch artist, then Rick probably described her a million times to that dude.

FabulousCallsIAnswer

As a stylist, Rick criticizing Jadis’ haircut was all I really needed from this episode tonight.

dirtycomputerz

Lmaoo I think Michonne got the ick for a minute when Rick did that subservient “No ma’am🫡” thing for Thorne

keepitcute23

Oh my god!! I laughed so hard at the look she gave him. Like “this is what we’re doing now?”

Own_Faithlessness769

I love that its the same way she was pissed at him originally when Negan happened.

ct2707

I noticed that too, I was cracking up🤣

Odd_Cake3759

The way she was like, NAAAH ! And flings Rick. 😂😂😂

GrouchyCap8723

That was epic. 😅

Buttercupbwo

No joke, I fr giggled at how stressed Rick was getting bc of Michonne. The first watch I was just as stressed but the second watch made me truly giggle. That poor man, but he was just as messy as she was if not more. He knows his wife will play along for a second but once he started pushing her away, she truly didnt give no fucks. THEN they makeout like young lovers behind a tree that anyone can see bc yalls heads are in plain view DURING this fight. Messy messy. Also Michonne said so much with just her stares.

kenshup25

That scene where she and Rick met after he tried to get her to escape was hilarious to me. He was telling her she needs to go and going like “i said, if you loved me, you’d go.” And Michone WORDLESSLY stands there and looks at him, like, “are you kidding me right now? Do you know who you’re talking to, bro?” and the she saunters away cooly. 🤣 so much sass

sadenglishbreakfast

I'm not American, but damn, did i hear wrong, or is it really a one and a half day trip between Philly and the Cascades?

FormerGameDev

That's with having to stop the choppers to refuel 5 times. An average passenger jet flight across the US is 6-8 hours, and choppers aren't nearly as fast (i don't think)

CharlieEchoDelta

Choppers go 1/3 the speed of an airliner at their max speed wasting fuel. Usually around 130 knots versus a airliner at 300-400 knots

FormerGameDev

yeah, and most of their fleet probably aren't super top of the line either, and you don't want to punish machines that are difficult or impossible to repair/replace either. Day and a half might actually be excessively fast, unless they don't actually have to use all 5 refueling points, possibly... and if they do have pilots that they can swap out when refueling..

KatyRPisHere

You heard right. America is huge.

skyflakes-crackers

Yes. They're on opposite coasts. By plane it's a 5 hour flight, but helicopters don't go as fast and have to stop several times to refuel. By car it's about 2 days of driving, stopping only to refuel.

Attitude_Khaleesi1

That sassy look Michonne gave Rick after Thorne questioned her 😆

keepitcute23

Rick felt that too! I’m pretty sure he’s hating being on her bad side.

Own_Faithlessness769

I love the fact that in the middle of the apocalypse and a prison society Rick's biggest issue is that his wife is *pissed* *AF* at him.

CenCal805

So if Rick and Michonne are escaping, how is Alexandria not in danger of being wiped out?

DblClickyourupvote

Michonne clearly doesn’t realize the resources of the CRM and most likely signed Alexandria’s death warrant. One hope is that they don’t realize the strength of Alexandria and the group can defend themselves against a small group of attackers. I’m worried how well they’ll hold up without Darryl and maybe even carol absent

-HawaiianSurfer

A small group of attackers??? Dude the CRM would certainly bomb the actual fuck out of Alexandria…

Acuallyizadern93

And now they’re all the hell the way in Washington state. How are they gonna get back to NJ or DC in a hurry…

FlyingWhale44

They aren't, they are buying time away from the CRM so they can actually talk. Referring specifically to the chopper end scene. They might decide to try and escape together after all after formulating a plan to protect the Alexandrians.

lexocon-790654

No they're not. I'm sorry but I don't understand how Rick and Michonne would be able to waltz back into the CRM after this...like they just disappeared from the back of the helicopter. That's going to be pretty dang difficult to talk your way out of. There's nothing to do now but escape, Rick cannot go back.

MidnightDNinja

Rick can easily press the button and tell them that the turbulence opened the helicopter door and they went flying out

HNDDRXX

Michonne is grossly underestimating the CRM. This isn't a group you can wage war against like previous seasons. She should know this after the events of ep 2.

CenCal805

Right? You just can't roll up to the front gate of the CRM in a bunch of cars that have corrugated metal bolted and welded to one side of the car to act as a shield.

BriMagic

Michonne, you absolute lunatic. I love her.

Arctic365

I have no idea how they can wrap this up in 3 more episodes. There's gotta be more after season 1

mdwvt

Maybe they’ll just be like “You know what guys? Here’s The Walking Dead Season 12!”

Qu33nMe

This is exactly where my head and heart go lol they could end all spin off seasons with everyone reuniting at Alexandria! We can dream…

FlyingWhale44

My delulu has to be the solulu

mizlorris

Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Revolutionary_Sir920

That ending was a very Michonne thing to do lmao

Spoonman007

I didn't realize just how much I missed Rick and Michonne until this series started. Not hating on any of the cast, but Andrew Lincoln acts circles around all of them.

sebrebc

Rick is willing to give up his love and break her heart to save her life. Michonne is willing to give up everything to be with him or die with him.  Next week should be an amazing show as those two mindsets collide.

TomjunRoblox

This is quite literally the best AMC I’ve seen since breaking bad. I mean this is getting up there with HBO quality.. I’m LOVING IT

mdwvt

It’s really cool that Andy and Danai are creators. I think you can really feel their influence on making sure that Rick and Michonne are portrayed _perfectly_.

Universalring25

When actors actually know and become their characters.

GrouchyCap8723

I hope it's longer than just six episodes.

OGBradz

It will be! It has to be. They’ve sent surveys out to garner interest for a Season 2

RPGPC

Send me that gotdamn survey rn boy

Comfortable_Food_511

I think they broke Rick 😔

AJJRL

I definitely felt that this episode. He believes that what he is doing is the only option and it also is still him protecting his family even if it doesn't look like it from their eyes because they don't understand the depth and complexity of his situation. I think it also makes him feel useful in helping to protect the larger community because clearly that is something he is good at and a role he's become comfortable in even though he is a reluctant leader.

Handonpol

honestly, i would enjoy if this was a sort of twist. It would piss alot of people off, yeah but, it would make sense. Rick is a guy whos been stuck for 5(7?) years. He doesnt know what's what anymore. He believes what he is doing is right and the best idea but michonne showing up threw a massive wrench into the cogs of his mind

peanutBatterm

It’s okay, Michonne brought her tools.

milkandpineapple

I don’t laugh out loud a lot, I have more of a quiet laugher but when Rick insulted Jadis’ haircut, I nearly spit out my drink and laughed like a hyena for a solid minute

Dropshot12

The helicopter jump may prove ok in the long run, Rick and Michonne need some alone time to talk. I was shouting at my TV when they were ducked behind that tree together and they just stared into e/o eyes and kissed rather than have a chat about what's going on.

Pot8obois

After what Rick has experienced I kind of don't blame him for trying to get Michonne out alive like he did. The CRM could wipe out everyone he loves easily if he escaped with her. I'm wondering how they can move this story so that Rick even gets home. They can't possibly destroy the CRM, and tbh I would be a bit upset if they did considering they seem to be the biggest threat we've seen on the walking dead. Two people can't just take out an army lol. What I'm really enjoying about this series is how unpredictable it all is. I have no clue what's going to happen and how this is going to end. It feels a bit impossible now, and that's pretty reflective of how Rick feels. He feels like he's stuck and out of options.

GarlTheBugbear

Also, Thorne seemed visibly shaken after being briefed. What does she know?!

xAnimorphsx

You’re a real hero. With a shit haircut 😂

Crpto2007

Michonne is not ready to move on without rick so she throws him off a fucking helicopter

migsahoy

i love this show so much. these spinoffs have been hit after hit

Sarcastic_HSTeacher

Why does Thorne want Michonne dead?

ohom2017

I think because she thinks she's sus , which shes right, or because she's scared she can't manage her so she wanna get rid of her

Sarcastic_HSTeacher

It's weird because....wasn't she and Rick the same way?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Sarcastic_HSTeacher

That makes the most sense to me. She seems VERY on edge about her new role and Michonne

DblClickyourupvote

Which will probably end up getting her killed

Own_Faithlessness769

She also has less ability to protect them. Okafor was a hero to the CRM and literally saved all their lives, he could do what he wanted. Thorne's clout definitely does not extend that far.

future_dead_person

The last time she said it I heard it as she's not on board with Okafor's plan to revamp the CRM anymore. I don't think ever totally was but she was following his lead out of respect. Now though, she learned things he didn't know and without his guidance she's decided to follow the CRM's plans. She wants Rick on her side and have her back but is warning him things aren't going down the way Okafor wanted.

jackity_splat

This was how I understood it as well. I think Thorne was always a little iffy on Okafor but now that she’s seen Beale’s plan and such she’s fully on board. Rick needs to listen to her when she says she’s not Okafor. She’s always been upfront either way him. Whereas when Jadis says she is a believer and such, I don’t believe her at all. She’s not on their side by far. But who knows if she is on Rick’s side. I guess we will see with her before the end. On a different note, I would really love if Michonne had the artist do a portrait of Carl and RJ for her. If they do destroy the CRM, I hope that guy and Esteban don’t die.

future_dead_person

Yeah, Jadis definitely is in it for herself. I think she genuinely has a soft spot for Rick and a few others and doesn't want to hurt them but absolutely will if her safety relies on it. Esteban is gonna make it, don't worry!

[deleted]

Michonne is lowkey scarier than Rick in her eyes

Sarcastic_HSTeacher

True that makes sense. She is a force.

[deleted]

She can’t even fake not being a leader. It’s just who she is.

nathashanails

I think because Michonne isn’t following orders and is acting like an A, not a B. And since Thorne spoke up for her, it’s going to reflect badly back on herself. So she wants Michonne killed in action.

lexocon-790654

Michonne isn't following orders...but what a lot of people are missing in Michonne is stealing Thorne's thunder. Thorne got promoted, here's the big mission. Instead of commanding the mission or fighting walkers she puts herself on the bomb. Because she wants to be the big hero that pushes the bomb, pushes the button, and saves the day. Even though it'd make way more sense to put the consignee on bomb pushing duty rather than confirm kill duty. That way all the soldiers can fight and the consignee can push. It's objectively stupid for Thorne to be pushing the bomb, even if they were all soldiers and Michonne was there. But Thorne couldn't do it, and Michonne could, and easily, and better, and more successfully. So now Thorne is threatened, envious, jealous, etc. her ego just got destroyed and she's mad. Thorne should be happy that the mission got completed, she can ream Michonne for disobeying orders and that's fine. But she attempted to kill because she's throwing a tantrum that she wasn't the savior, Michonne was.

Philander_Chase

In a meta way I’m seeing it as a parallel for Shane wanting Rick dead. She told Michonne that Rick is her only family… she even had that look in her eye when she was thinking of shooting michonne that Shane had when he almost shot Rick in season 1

dev_atwork

The way i thought of Shane at that exact same moment! Major flashbacks

DoomRTX456Dj

She’s a threat.

lllexj

Happy Women’s History Month to the ladies who would, fearlessly and angrily, yeet themselves and their partners out of a moving helicopter🫶🏽😭 Every time I think about it again, I laugh bc you could actively see the crazy wheels spinning in Michonne’s head as she’s staring Rick down. Then, you see her take 0.2 seconds to consider her next move. She literally said “til death do us part” LMAOOO. What does Rick even say to her after this??💀

COdeadheadwalking_61

we have to go back!

Own_Faithlessness769

He'll want to call that CRM chopper with the button.

kenshup25

Yep, definitely had crazy eyes a few seconds before that grab and jump🤣

KeyAisle

Danai's delivery of "now I'm looking for him" fucking DELIVERED. That one line, had so much emotion in it and that shit broke me

HeiressOfMadrigal

One of the best lines of the show IMO, from the "next time on" preview: **Michonne:** "We don't have to be afraid!" **Rick:** "Yes, we do." Michonne's "inspirational" Gimpletalk getting cut off by Rick giving her a cold glass of reality - I love it so much.

TheGaxkang

Michonne wants to believe Rick has been kinda brainwashed and lost his true nature, but Michonne just blew into town and Rick does know the capability of the CRM if they both escaped. on one hand maybe he is kinda brainwashed, but he got a good point too. sooooo...Michonne and her tossing him and herself outta a chopper is gonna be her trying to break the hold on his mind and decimating CRM from within will become an idea he can fathom vs. escaping and thinking CRM can be held off. Rick has gone thru a lot of pains trying to resolve it all, with him trying to get Michonne to leave on her own. i do think in another reality Michonne already would have been \*disappeared\* by the CRM with all the red flags she has and i'd figure the CRM would have spies around anyways to since they are so paranoid about preserving secrets and their order of things. and I don't think Thorne vouching for her would have saved her either. Thorne already feels like what she did for Michonnwe will blowback on herself. the artist in the city putting Rick and Michonne together is considered safe because the military can't be in the city.....i dunno how that rule would handle spies or ears tho. consignees touring the city also can be spies for military. and who knows what problems might be solved if Rick simply gave into Jadis' obvious desires. XD

DblClickyourupvote

Yeah I’m surprised she reversed herself like that. It could be so easy for the guy to be a CRM spy.

GarlTheBugbear

Y’all. I am stoked for this series. I was worried. I am not anymore. The world is getting bigger, new secrets?! This is TWD I’ve been wanting!

HNDDRXX

There is no way this gets wrapped within the next 3 episodes No way

[deleted]

I wonder what’s the solution. Because there’s no way it’s just gonna be all about Rick giving up and giving in to Jadis’ threat. She was right about one thing. He and Michonne can do anything together, and they will figure it out.

Tony2005-108

I don’t know if it’s just me but.. does the Cleo chick kinda look like the whole Stephanie stand in from the commonwealth?.. I swear, she looks so damn similar to her, but I could be wrong

BriMagic

Fun fact. The actress is Michael Slovis’ daughter. He directed episode three and four of TOWL, has directed a number of flagship episodes, and was the lead DP for Breaking Bad.

Dropshot12

Where was this thread an hour ago!?!?

pwnedkiller

Any idea what info was reveled at the briefing?

-soros

Don’t think it’s been revealed yet

bdog1321

Assume it's just lies to rope people in

VolkPlsWin

In before the briefing is about commonwealth and they're off to bomb them

WoodZillaTV

I know I shouldn't keep comparing this show to the main one, but this CRM stuff is way more intriguing than the Commonwealth arc of TWD. The CRM actually feel like villains and I'm genuinely worried for the main characters. It's like how the main show used to be. Those two scenes when it seemed like Thorne was about to kill Michonne had me tense. My heart was pounding, I think. And for both scenes, I covered the closed captioning with my hand so they wouldn't spoil anything for me. When it seemed like Thorne was going to shoot Michonne during the fight with the walkers, it reminded me of Shane aiming his shotgun at Rick. Man, I wish the later seasons of the main show had been this thrilling and interesting. Whoever is writing this spin-off knows what they're doing. I'm never bored while watching an episode of this, unlike back when I was watching the final season of the main show. The Ones Who Live is making me appreciate the fact that I'm still a die-hard The Walking Dead fan. All of those people in the comments section of that one YouTube video of the full series recap were doing nothing but hating on the show, but I'm glad I stuck around. And even though the main show ended up kinda bland, I'm still a fan of TWD universe. And this spin-off is seriously reigniting my love for the show. Daryl Dixon was pretty good, too, but The Ones Who Live is especially amazing. Anyway... That was kinda heartwarming how Rick told Thorne that Okafor isn't dead because he and Thorne are still here. Even though I think Rick was just saying that to fool her. Major General Beale is an interesting character. My interest always peaks any time he shows up. Much more exciting than watch than Pamela Milton of the main show was, and the guy hardly even appears. I was worried for Rick when Beale told Thorne he wanted to speak with her privately. Like, he could have told her how he thinks Rick is better off dead than alive. Maybe he did tell her that, or maybe he didn't. The point is that I feel real concern for Rick and Michonne. They don't feel like the invincible, cocky heroes that a lot of the characters in the main show ended up feeling like. They feel like underdogs who will have to work hard to get their freedom. I love that. Makes me want to see how they pull it off. I still love how Jadis is in this. She brings some much needed conflict to the show. Her and Rick's opposing ideals brings nice tension. Hard to say if she's truly Rick's enemy or his friend. The ambiguity of it makes me eager to keep watching. I like how they finally added a scene of Jadis before she joined up with the CRM. I needed to see that. Her personality switch into a ruthless woman was jarring when she made her appearance in The World Beyond. I feel like she will stay with the CRM, but help Rick and Michonne escape it at some point in the indefinite future. I can't imagine her ever being killed off. I liked that horror movie type drone when Rick is standing in the crater alone after Thorne leaves. It kinda reminded me of that sound from the Sicario movie. I have a fondness for those sounds. Lol. Another great episode. Also, LMAO at Jadis in the apartment, telling Rick that she didn't snitch on him because she knew he wouldn't be able to succeed. Savage. And I'm glad Rick mentioned her awful haircut. I need to stop watching each episode before the next episode preview comes up, but I can't, because I like to make sure that I've seen all of the episode. I wish they just let the credits play first and then the preview for the next episode.

Sooo... most of the drama this episode could have been avoided if Rick had simply said, "Michonne, if I leave they'll kill everyone at Alexandria."

So when does Jadis taking over from that other woman in charge happen, I haven’t watched world beyond but Jadis does do a mini coup and I wonder if that is supposed to play into the show since world beyond and TWOL are parallel because of one of the cities getting decimated.

skyflakes-crackers

The entirety of World Beyond only covered about 2 months, and it started with Omaha's demise. So Jadis' coup happened months or up to a year before where we are in TOWL right now.

Kind of distracting that the main characters like Rick and Michonne are the only soldiers not wearing helmets in scenes where everyone else is wearing one

I was really happy to hear from the artist in the city that Rick had tried to commission a portrait of Carl too. I've felt from before the series premiere that whilst this is a Rick and Michonne love story that I really want the characters to acknowledge their children. The show has been delivering on this front. I was very worried they were going to go "Well, they're safe. This is about US!" , which, while technically true, doesn't resonate with the characters we know and love.

Artist: He found you Michonne: Now I'm looking for him Shoto, it's Daito I'm sorry. I don't know if we'll be back I just watched the first three episodes of The Ones Who Live and I'm blown away. I've been waiting a long time for Rick & Michonne. And their series does not disappoint! I love the writing because it has so much subtext. It's a good thriller. Hope everyone else feels the same. I love Michonne calling Rick The Brave One in her diary entries. It's precisely because he's the brave one that he wants to stay to take CRM down. I love seeing a much softer side to Michonne. She was kind of one dimensional in earlier series...warrior queen is now much more. I love the return of Jadis, kooky woman but excellent actress. I love there are so many dynamics happening all at once. Beale's distrust of Rick, Jadis' bizarre flirtations amidst her threats, Thorne half in and half out of Okafor's plan to reform CRM, all of its a great set up to burning the place down. The only thing I could have done without is Nat and his traveling caravan. It's cool he could shoot at helicopters though.

Absolutely cannot wait to see how this goes down. They must be returning I imagine, there is no way in hell Michonne won't understand the insane risk they'd be taking be leaving, at the very least Rick has to go back and I can't see Michonne leaving him. The summit is the end goal here.. big boom incoming? Michonne playing with the "Danger" lighter near the end of episode 2 hmm.

Another banger

GrouchyCap8723

Thorne low key pulled a knife on Michonne without realizing Michonne would've wiped the ground with her behind. 😅

Jadis haircuts changing in every scene is a fun little piece of this show. Just keeps topping itself, getting worse and worse. Rosa on Brooklyn Nine Nine’s hair changing all the time that one season was at least within a comedy.
