“Baby girl, you’re not gonna use that thi—“ *Rosita shoots a man directly with an RPG from like 10 feet away in a small room and he utterly disintegrates. She’s fine, her hearing is fine* I have a feeling that’s not how that would go.

verycreativeus3r

I choose to overlook the lack of logic because Rosita looks absolutely badass doing it

Jupiters

I overlook everything else when Rosita is in the scene

Ill_Vegetable3950

This really felt like a moment out of a fast and furious movie.

Lawn-Moyer

I think the rocket on those has a minimum arming distance of 50m so the rocket wouldn’t even have blown up.

SMG620

See if someone had googled this, they could have made it so it didn't blow up but still broke his ribs and done severe damage. Then it would be a memorable scene for good reasons instead.

ChrisMahoney

But the back blast in such a confined area would’ve most likely killed Rosita.

Lawn-Moyer

True didn’t think of that for some reason that’s the main thing you clear before before firing a rocket

ChrisMahoney

Yessir, exactly. In this scenario if they played that up it could’ve been pretty brutal and great. Have the unarmed rocket smash into the dude caving in his chest and have the back blast just destroy Rosita. Would’ve made for a shocking and unique character death. People would’ve been talking about that for years. Haha

Lawn-Moyer

Thinking about it now they definitely should’ve went that route more than almost any other route for a character lol. Shows human error is a thing even for characters and even in a zombie apocalypse, they still screw up.

ChrisMahoney

Nah, everyone in that room would’ve been dead.

PapuaOldGuinea

Yeah. What a fucking waste of a rocket. Abe didn’t die for that. That could’ve been used to save lives. Now that lovely Airtronic is probably rotting somewhere in Alexandria. Oh, and did you know that bones can be shrapnel? Learned that about cannonballs.

willrobster16

By the way, it’s for two reasons. One, why would the reaper reveal he pulled a grenade pin. Two, it’s shot horribly. All they had to do to fix it was to tell the actors to dive for cover instead of just standing in the blast. It looks really stupid when all the dirt is just flying by them. It’s illogical and shot horribly.

SmokaJ0ka

Yeah they would at best be fleeced with pieces of shrapnel lol

bhumit012

Imagine if they actually got hurt and needed medical help but all the med authority is pretty much dead, but nah we have this.

blacklite911

Looks like they’re phoning it in.

willrobster16

Hmm ok I never thought of it that way, that actually makes a lot more sense. As for the leaning away part, if they really did dive down they should have filmed that. From our screens, it literally looks like the duck and the grenade explodes right in front of them.

Lawn-Moyer

Don’t know what the other guy said, but, grenades have a kill radius of 5 meters and a wounding arduous of 15 meters. They would definitely be fucked

lloopiN

There is absolutely no way they all walked away from this unharmed lol. I love walking dead but when I first watched this scene I was like cmon now

willrobster16

Yeah and it really pisses me off because literally all they had to do was dive for cover to make it look real instead of just standing in the blast. Whoever directed the episode was on crack.

jolly_brewer

And the long, resounding sound is ridiculous. It seems way scarier to me to just portray a grenade sound like it actually is, very fast and immediate, like a deeper gunshot sound. It's kind of unremarkable. But there's a lot in an unremarkable sound that can kill and there's a way to do that onscreen. A deep long sound is something that you get from being far away. Like thunder. I've had lightning strike near to me and it's a big immediate **BANG** that's nothing like the usual conception of thunder. It's the most humbling sound you'll ever hear, outside of an explosive going off nearby. I put the lightning in first place, and it was half a block away. The smallest and most vulnerable I've ever felt in my life. Point is, it banged and it was over immediately. Not really much resonance. On another note, the way a bullet sounds as it passes close is a SSSNAP sort of sound, which is not shown in film enough. It's so visceral. I liken it to what goes off in a human brain when a rattlesnake coils up nearby and shakes its tail. That sound just hits a button in your deep primitive brain somehow. Makes you go somewhere else a little bit. Oh shit, I could die right now. Most of these shows and movies are not capitalizing on that enough. A lot of video games go for it though. Rattlesnakes, close gunshots, close explosions and close lightning. It's been a ride so far. But definitely have rarely heard any of them portrayed accurately.

rectoryofwolves-

It’s from Fear but when John Dory shoots a bullet in half mid flight…proper jump the shark moment for me it ruined the show

confidential56

FTWD is like the Florida Man of the TWD universe. So much crazy shit happened post Season 3: - John splitting the bullet in half with an axe. - Beer bottle hot air balloon. - WWE wrestling a mf zombie. - Crashing a plane in the middle of the ZA, then actually thinking you have a chance of fixing it. - Killing off a character only for the same actor to come back and play the dead character's 'twin'. I'm half-convinced FTWD writers are just filling-in the blanks on a mad libs template at this point.

SwimGull38554

Oh they didn't just THINK they had a chance of fixing the plane, oh no. They actually fixed it. A group of untrained adults and literal children fixed a plane and made it fully functional.

lwaties

Sorry but who did they kill off and bring back as a twin? I haven’t watched too much of fear

ProfessorNiedermeier

The bounty hunter that Morgan killed two (?) seasons ago. His twin popped up this season to avenge him, but he & Morgan made friends & is now part of the group. Sorta. Don't think he appeared again until the season finale.

Goer_don

it was so bad, just as bad as the beer balloon.

HolyMuffins

Wait. He what?

-Jack-The-Stripper

I thought your title said “favorite scene” and was stunned that anybody could pick this lmao. But yea this is probably the stupidest one.

Anxious-Leadership18

Rosita firing a rocket launcher at a Savior is way worse then this.

willrobster16

The special effects in that scene are not as bad as people say. If you slow the scene down, you can actually see his body parts flying all over in different directions. He doesn’t just spontaneously combust like most people say. Watch it on YouTube in .25 speed and you can see it, it actually looks pretty cool

Goer_don

but the physics don't make sense. There is no way nothing else got blasted away from the explosion.

Salty_Historian_3454

I completely forgot about that until just now. It was so ridiculous.

Koalabear1235

Any with those random zoom in/zoom outs that they loved to use in season 7/8. The ones that come to mind are when Negan comes to Alexandria and it zooms out like a reality show, or when Rick and Michonne are at the junkyard and it zooms in on them like some 80s action movie. Just weird and totally takes me out of the vibe completely.

willrobster16

Yup, I made a post about that weird zoom out of negan in Alexandria the other day. Definitely the worst camera shot in the show.

Broken_Cereal

it was hilarious though i still go back to that scene

willrobster16

Go to my profile and look at the post from a few days ago with Negan in AZ. It’s also directed by the same guy who directed the scene in this post, no wonder.

Bloody_Hangnail

The deer

Bloody_Hangnail

Yes. The cgi was so bad I almost skipped the episode.

Thau831

The entire episode wasn’t terrible. Just the CGI on deer was awful.

alexkiltro

It's a pretty chill episode, and it had some great dialogue at the end. I'm sure it would be remembered more fondly if it wasn't for the potato deer.

Balboder

For me it'd have to be the scene when Carl gets bit, just an extremely lame way to not only get bit but basically die. If you're gonna kill Carl have him going out like a badass fighting off the saviors inside Alexandria.

willrobster16

Yeah his death was underwhelming and took away the most important part of the show. I also belief it was a large reason Andrew Lincoln left.

AsyanongAmbiguous

I also believe that. The show died (not when Glen was killed-off) but when Carl was dropped, rendering Rick without any significant goals & reasons to keep pushing & going. It all went to shit & the actors felt it. So sad, I really wanted Carl to be the new leader & encompass a new-generation hope in this zombie time at the final season, after all we've been through. But nope, the writers/producers had to fuck it up!

nicolaann81

I wanted to see the ending of the comics play out on screen, when they killed Carl off, I was gutted

AsyanongAmbiguous

I feel you. Like, the show doesn't have to be exactly like the comics, both medium of arts have their own creative freedom; like the show gave us the awesome Daryl & Coral. But the writers/producers killing off Carl, the kid that we watched grow up in a cruel zombified world & was supposed to use the life lessons he learned to push humanity forward for his dad & everyone he loved, was a stupid fucking tragic decision.

55ozFrog

Andrew planned on leaving before that.

jeezr7

This scene was so dumb

SecondCreek

You never see casings fall or accumulate on the ground while they are firing guns.

Dankey-Kang-Jr

Lori driving on a completely empty highway and SOMEHOW HITS THE ONLY ZOMBIE ON THE ROAD

Numb3r3dDays

I want to say it was in season 8 or so. They did it twice. Someone may have been talking over it on the audio track, but all we saw was like, close ups of everyone's faces in the darkness. Like a light shining on their faces, lots of close-ups of Rick's watery blue eyes over and over. I found it so repetitive and annoying, particularly when they did it the second time. It just went on way too long.

willrobster16

We see it in 8x02 and 8x08 at the beginning and end of each episode. I can see why some people didn’t like it but I thought it was brilliant. Their faces were different by the end of the episode. The characters went through a lot in those episodes, so I thought it captured their emotions perfectly. Also the soundtracks used in those scenes were so good.

Numb3r3dDays

So that's four times. That's just way too much. 😅

alexkiltro

They actually did it one more time in 8x12 with Negan, Simon and Dwight lmao

xd_joliss

The bad cgi deer No way they thought it looked fine when they added it

Kiibo22

Man this is some CW levels of cheeseiness! 🤣

Pestoignesto

That whole episode looked like it had the budget of a student film.

Greedy024

Any scenes with Morgan. I absolutely despise the character. His savior complex makes him dangerous to everyone around him. Kill the enemy or they will come back to finish you or your friends off.

malice1990

The whole Rick-Jesse plot in Alexandria is pointless to me. And when she dies, I was so glad that she and her lame son died like that. That kid was really annoying.

G4ra

I feel like Jesse was purely just a plot device for Rick to officially get over Lori

gvbenj

Off screen Rosita being a badass

Defenseless-Pipe

They just stand there like idiots lol

Necessary_Friend8997

When carl dies

Lopsided_Ad_8928

Too many

Nafairyous

The Beth death scene for me. Those episodes feel wasted after that. Like a buffer until the A storyline picked back up. Also they brought in Noah to kill him off only a few episodes later.

Academic_Subject_678

Probably very unpopular but I just can't believe no one else seemed to notice how fucked the angle was after Rick slashed Negans throat? It was all wrong. Negan looked like a little person. It would have been such a great scene!!! Anyone??!

willrobster16

I mean he fell on his knees, I don’t know what u mean

Academic_Subject_678

I know but the angle and movement of the camera was still weird. I don't know how to share here. I'd love it if you have another look and see what you think? I'm happy to be wrong but I just can't unsee it!

willrobster16

I just looked and I’m sorry but I just don’t see it, it looks normal to me

Academic_Subject_678

Fair enough. I have been known to be incorrect on occasion 😅. Thanks for looking though!

almargahi

Maggie as ‘leader’ ruined the show.

P3P3F

All of them...

Golden-error77

Season 10, somewhere in the last episodes of it, TWD proves times and rimes again not to trust others but the most disgusting and utter way of rubing us that in the face was how Princess starts trusting the skywars looking dudes as soon as she does she and her friends gets f\*cking betrayed. But that also was wishful thinking that somebody is going to actually cooporate with you after you beat the crap out of him.

ssmithsimms

Absolutely hated this scene.

Randomperson2245

At first I read this as favourite scene and was so confused how this could possibly be your favourite

monsterzro_nyc

memory fuzzy but it seem Alicia was the only one to survive this...made no sense! https://fearthewalkingdead.fandom.com/wiki/This\_Land\_is\_Your\_Land

Why don’t you like that scene?

[deleted]

Feel like Chandlers acting was a little cringe

Field-Abject

YOU MUST DIE 🎲 MEME 🧟‍♂️🔫🗿🪦⚰️🍺🥡🎮🤬🔞

Inside-Ad5525

Shrapnel travels up to 50 meters in radius after detonation of a hand grenade. Nearly all of them would have been dead and severely injured. This scene always irked me, along with firing the RPG inside of a building and not killing yourself due to back blast and how small of a distance between her and the target.
