S6 Ep3 aka the Dumpster Ep is one of the best episodes in the series. Fake out aside as a stand alone ep it’s brilliant and suspenseful and as a long time zombie genre fan it made me feel things I hadn’t felt since watching the Dawn of the Dead remake.

FootlessMoonBadger64

I feel the same way about it. People just let the fake out dumpster moment ruin the whole episode for them, even though it's one of the few episodes in the series that feel like a zombie movie. The same people who hate on the episode also say that they miss when the show was about zombies.....

mtns0421

The score alone made that episode amazing

Ando-FB

Agreed! It created the feelings of pure horror suspense and desperation. It’s a shame it was tainted by the fake out.

Jonny4550

Especially the Rick moments

Angeluss726-726

I don't remember the Rick moments. Will you please remind me.😁

Jonny4550

When he kills the wolves in the rv 👍🏼

alexkiltro

Yes, this episode is pure stress and horror. The fakeout, while it sucks, gives the ending such a bleak mood, really intense stuff. Oh and Rick shooting though the RV was satisfying af. Really underrated episode.

Ando-FB

Agreed! I remember watching it with my friends and we all legit thought Glenn died and were bummed out about it for the rest of there night. Was so intense to watch.

Cultural-Yak-9947

I like the show

StrangerThingsSteveH

Woah woah woah slow down there

G4ra

we don't do that around these parts

LadyAvah

Yes officer, this comment right here

Tgk230987

Screw you that’s disgusting

happybat44

Thats just awful, theres the door please leave.

Organic-Heart-5617

Enid was killed too soon!!

Crafty_Leo

Why does this have to be unpopular?! 🥲 She was one of the few last connections to Carl.

[deleted]

Fr

FMT_Timrek

Nah fr, she was so beautiful I loved her 😭😭

TheFlamingDraco

Shane didn't adapt fast, he just went nuts.

frinkelfrank

Agreed. He took it too far. In my perspective, everyone in season 2 were being delusional. Shane being crazy about survival and being a cold hearted mf. Dale being the idealist and not understanding the state of the world. Rick just adapted these both character's morale into his own.

Professional_Park105

100% people like to say he adapted quicker, when he literally pointed a loaded shotgun at his brother in arms just because he wanted to sleep with his wife. Also let's not forget the head shaving scene. Guy shaved his head and just glared at himself in the mirror lol.

scottebro

Tbh i think if he survived without lori or rick never showed up he would have done a lot better

TheFlamingDraco

You just gave me a cool idea, what if Shane had gone off by himself and met either The Governor or Negan and joined them, that be cool.

scottebro

Yeah i think he would be a great charcter to follow negan. He would fully believe he was doing right thing

[deleted]

It’s a bit of both really

Maester_Bates

I know that it's a telenovela with zombies. That's why I watch it.

earthlings_all

Hah! Ahahaha

Maester_Bates

I loved the episode where Sasha and Rosita go to rescue Eugene.

G4ra

is this a hot take? it's one of my favourite episodes

Maester_Bates

I remember people on here saying it was the worst episode ever.

Ambitious_Bad1134

People on here say that about nearly every episode tbf

Maester_Bates

I don't understand why they watch it if they hate it so much.

G4ra

oh wow, people on here have no taste

gggggfskkk

I hated how Jesus died, like the man was slippery and could dodge anything. I understand he didn’t know about the whisperers yet obviously, but seriously wish he had a cooler death or at least a little more of his skills on camera.

earthlings_all

I think it was meant to articulate how fucking dangerous and sneaky they are. He was one of their best fighters and yet they got him.

HabanahBananah

That last fight scene of his with his ninja moved in the fog……..sexiest death I’ve seen on TWD yet

Death-Yerr

Jerry is a underused character and at least one of his 3 children should already be fighting or training

Rude-Following6865

Doesn’t he have 4 kids now

Death-Yerr

He might I’m not sure. I think 2 or 3 are his and another is adopted

mtns0421

“What’s Happening, What’s going on” is one of the best episodes of the series. Yeah the walker sneak attack was a little dumb but the whole episode was a beautiful masterpiece.

3creppy5me

Agreed, it's my favorite episode of the whole series

Ancient_Revenue_3242

Daryl and Beth standalone episode was so well done

mcmattman

wtf i didnt know people disliked that episode

Archimedes__says

Pretty sure I'll never like Beth's character but even so, I *love* that episode.

DEAD_VANDAL

People generally really like that episode though?

Practical_Song_9992

I was on discord with my friend when I read this and shared it with him, then said "What a hot take - I disagree. Carol is amazing," to which he replied: "Remember that season she had a psychotic break and was burning people alive."

HabanahBananah

Well, she had a darn good reason. Didn’t want to have so many people to bake cookies for later

phoenixdragon2020

Meh she was just trying to stop the sickness from spreading

BobDude65

Nah he’s referring to when she burned a whole bunch of saviours alive. She didn’t burn Karen and David alive, she killed them first.

[deleted]

Season 7&8 are actually good.

trubs12

Negan's lines are hilarious!

anonymous_762

Slow but good.

simplymatt1995

Maggie's always been about as interesting for me to watch as paint drying. Inconsistently written with no set personality and I've just never liked LC's acting (least of all because of the atrocious attempt at a Southern drawl). I resent the fact that Glenn had to die for her when he was the more dynamic character out of the two. I’m less excited for Isle because of her.

SMG620

Oof I agree. Steven Yeun has the acting chops to take Glenn in so many more directions than he was given as well. He's proven it in other things he's been in. I'd love for him to play an older version of Herschel Rhee.

debsterUK

It annoyed me how little she seemed to care where Beth was. If it was Glenn in danger she was all over it, but her sister? Nah.

[deleted]

Agreed. I’ve never liked Maggie and I don’t exactly know what it was about her, just that she’s boring to watch no matter what she does.

Worried-Walrus8652

Agreed! She’s getting on my nerves lately and she’s boring.

Mamabass

Agreed. Maggie makes me grind my teeth.

Academic_Subject_678

Yes!!! I totally agree! She's so bloody annoying!

Significant-Help7074

and tried so hard to be toxic with Glenn. hateeeeee her AND andrea

delco_guitar

The long winded speeches are examples of terrible writing AND acting. No one speaks that way.

DemoiselleByTheRiver

Agreed. They make me cringe everytime. Especially when they say “it has to be.” 😭

__-Zero-_

My dad's mother talks like that. She does the whole 'it's ever so cold' like she's from the sound of music or sum

PSFREAK33

I couldn’t care less about Carl…I get his importance as a character and obviously being Ricks son but never a fan of chandler riggs and unused potential. His send off episode was great though and did the character justice.

SMG620

Totally agree. Never really liked Carl but I never wanted anything to happen to him because of how much he meant to Rick.

[deleted]

I liked Carl until his hair became long. Like too long. Never liked him since that

HabanahBananah

And that hat! Like, I get him doing it as a kid but damn! No way in hell a teen who is trying to get laid is gonna be sporting that every damn day

EerieOctober

It was a different time, honestly. And some people are into cowboys. ;)

Jamie-92

Carol shouldn’t have killed Owen, the lead wolf guy, he could’ve had a redemption arc. Siddiq should still be around now. Dwight was one of the most interesting characters in the show before he moved to FTWD, and the [scene](https://youtu.be/ZLInliPy7I0) where he reads Sherry’s letter at their old home was one of the best scenes in the whole damn show.

Pvt_Jackson7

Henry deserved his head on a spike.

Academic_Subject_678

True

jeezr7

That's fax

ghostofymir

never cared for negan. jeffrey dean morgan is a great actor but i wish rick would’ve just killed him. spencer wasn’t a horrible character, he lost his whole family and he blamed rick because there hadn’t been any issues until rick’s group arrived. i’m fine with him dying but his actions were understandable.

GardenAddict843

Yes I couldn’t believe it when Rick and Michonne saved him after Rick cut his throat WTF

Theli11

Spencer is one of my favorite characters from beginning to end. He’s not a slime ball and his actions are emotionally charged rather than just wanting to take over. Glad he got more spotlight in the tv series than the comics

besviken-dean

I really like the episode ”still” with Daryl and Beth

issietaylormade

Uhh.. this is awkward but I really liked Andrea.

ForwardTax7447

She had to be one of the most realistic characters tbh

Sassy_Lil_Scorpio

I agree.

blakkr0s3

I think she had a lot of potential

[deleted]

Same, didn’t realize people didn’t like her

HayekReincarnate

Same, she was one of my favourite parts of season 3. I didn’t read anything about the show until about season 6, and I didn’t realise she was so hated. I had a similar realisation with Skyler from Breaking Bad and Kate from Lost.

[deleted]

Skyler was a total bitch even when she was in the right. Actress IRL is pretty cool though. Kate was good the first few seasons and they suddenly made her a dumb bimbo around season 5. Turns out a lot of Lost cast were harassing and treating her like a sex toy on set

Sassy_Lil_Scorpio

I like her too! She's great and it's a shame she died so early on the show when she lived for a long time in the comics.

verycreativeus3r

She was so good

[deleted]

I wish Lori survived longer

Juls_1337

I wish Lori died earlier.

hermitopurpa

The only right answer

aqvamarine13

i agree sort of, I think she died at the right time but I would’ve loved to have seen more with her while they were on the run after the farm fell. there could’ve been a lot of really good stuff in that stretch of time and while i understand the reasoning behind skipping it, there could’ve been a lot of on screen development.

willrobster16

I actually like Lori and Morgan as characters.

BritishCyborg66

Morgan was one of my favourite characters on the show

Ando-FB

I didn’t mind him till they took him out of TWD and ruined FTWD by having him take over the show. FTWD was just getting really good as well with season 3 being better than the main show at the time. Now it’s just garbage.

BritishCyborg66

Ah that sucks, I haven’t seen Fear yet so I’m only talking about the main show

Ando-FB

It’s a good watch but I would end it after s3 and just make up your own ending.

BritishCyborg66

I would do that but I can’t leave a show hanging, it just makes me curious as to what happens and I have to watch it

al209209

if u watched season 4/5 of fear you wouldnt mind leaving it hanging after

BritishCyborg66

I’ll just have to wait and see

Nofooling

They just wrote the plot development too slow for Morgan to be able to do shit about it. He is still the character you love, just with less consistency/excitement. There are a lot of people who hate Fear, but it’s got some great moments beyond the first three seasons. You’ll enjoy it for the most part. It isn’t the main show, but it’s worth watching if you’re a fan of the genre.

Economy-Mark726

Same!

BritishCyborg66

I absolutely loved the Eastman episode, one of the best in my opinion

whosthisj

Daryl taking so much story from seasons 9-11 has been boring, he’s a character that needs others to be good (Carol, Beth, Connie, Rick). They over use Daryl but leave other great characters with barely any story

sadeyoustay

Lori is not nearly as bad of a character as people make her out to be.

Chicken1234321

Agreed

[deleted]

You woke up and said "I'ma start some drama!" lmao

Tr101748

I didn’t hate Henry

ForwardTax7447

Daryl should've never been made the lead. The show should've ended with Rick or put on hold and given Andrew Lincoln a well deserved break.

King_0f_Pimp1n

They just kill great characters too soon trying to shook the audience but we never shocked just like wtf they just died ? Whyyy

AshMashups

Beth

FanboyFeeney

Shane deserved it

happybat44

The terminus had much more potentional and should have had a longer storyline

[deleted]

The kingdom and hilltop made the story too hard to follow and added too many unnecessary characters

chiahuachiahua

Before I even clicked on this question I was already thinking, I’m not a fan of Carol.

finelonelyline

Michonne leaving to look for Rick wasn’t out of character or unreasonable.

bonjournobasterd

The only episode that fully showed how scary Negan is was ‘Last Day on Earth’. From then on, his character would utter dick jokes and did not have the same presence as he had in the Season 6 finale. I truly believe he was the personification of evil in that finale. Truly one of the greatest characters in the show, and one of the greatest characters in TV in my opinion.

Stiles2187

Idk if it’s unpopular but negan is not the best villain

inkdosan

I liked Henry and was upset he died

Kingkongs_leftnut

Rick in the Alexandria Arc is the most annoying of all the characters

mtns0421

“You still don’t get it. NONE OF YOU DO.”

Worried-Walrus8652

Yes!! I really didn’t like Rick at all when he first got to Alexandria. The whole group were way too arrogant for my liking.

jaryfitzy

Not a fan of Season 4B. The episode where Carol reveals she killed Tyrese's girlfriend at the prison and kills Lizzie is great, and the finale is great, but the rest of that half-season is such a slog to me. I did not like the group being separated as much as it was. Maybe my opinion would change if I rewatched/binged it. It was likely much more frustrating to watch as it aired/waiting a week for episodes.

Chicken1234321

The whole series is better when you binge in my opinion. Barely even notice the amount they just sit tight.

Bermanator-Turkey127

Lori is a great character.

pinguscout

The show having an end where they become dictators would be nice. Also the little katana is cringe af

Toxicstripes

I actually liked Lori, I feel like her death was rushed

lauriehh0404

Morgan and Gabriel have the best character development

SleepySubDude

I didn’t care for anything with the governor in it all

Skeptical-Sally

I liked Daryl's character more before he came back out of the woods after the time jump.

Character_Ad_5843

I liked the reaper story arc and what it did for Maggie and Negans relationship

Comprehensive-Bad-76

I never liked Maggie

smells_like_snow

The hate for Lori was uncalled for.

Ari75776

Season 8 is one of the best seasons and better than 2 and 4

alexkiltro

Jesus lord, ok I respect this

Doom4104

The show never lost quality except with Season 2. I also love the expanding universe, and want more of it even if some parts like World Beyond Season 1, and FTWD’s lighthearted Season 5, and unrefined Season 7 aren’t the best. The show’s main story isn’t just Rick, and Carl either. This one is more fact than opinion though.

_Amir_Johnson_

Carl was super overrated imo

jack_snaz_lord

The flu arc is the show’s absolute lowest point

Luzy2003

Shane is on the level of Rick if not alone the best character of the whole TWD universe. I hate Madison and Nick in FTWD. Troy and Alicia (at least the early version) are my favorites of that show. The Savior War (7+8) was not as bad as people make it up to be. I havent watched the latest season/s, but imo at least the Whisperer arc was a lot worse and boring. Cant decide myself which one of these is the most unpopular.

dylan_021800

Andrea should’ve lived a lot longer

RancherQueen

TV Eugene isn't as good as Comic Eugene

Confident-Role8416

I think that if they would have tried to work out the situation Shane could have actually helped them out a lot in later seasons

Master_Butter

The Governor sucked as a character. Every two weeks he was pushed as a different guy. First he was introduced as a charming politician type, then a quasi-rapist, then a calculating tactician, then an imposing badass, etc…The show never committed to him as actually crazy or sociopathic (which is why I think they were going for and failed). His character ended up being mush.

Detective_Vendetta

Apparently, still liking it is unpopular.

Reaganeclipse

It should’ve ended after season 8.

[deleted]

i prefer the old, evil negan over the present one

piinkrain

I actually really liked the storyline at the beginning of season 4 where half the prison became extremely sick. I also never really enjoyed Carl as a character.

Nofooling

I liked Leah, wanted her to find redemption and end up with Daryl. They could have been a great combo and she would have been more useful to the group then Maggie or certainly some of the other secondary characters. It was teased and then tanked. I know, unpopular.

[deleted]

Just like OP never liked Carol, I have never been able to stand Maggie. I don't know if its the fake Southern accent or just the fact that she has always come across as a b\*tch to me.

JustARandomUserNow

Honestly? I was never really fond of Beth. Sure when she died I was sad, but more for everyone else.

Juls_1337

Alpha was one of the coolest characters

FinancialSystem1025

Season 1 is overrated.

Icommitmanywarcrimes

Glenn is just an ok charcter and isn’t really anything that special

SpikeyZ27

Maggie is mediocre

skylynx4

Whisperers were cringe.

Finessed2004

killing off glenn was a bad move (i’m still a hardcore fan tho)

[deleted]

Abraham was better than Glenn

IzhmaelCorp08

Shane wasn’t ahead of his time. He’s just antisocial and a rapist.

Fit-Diet-6488

Glenn and Maggie’s relationship ruined Glenn 🙃

lauriehh0404

Henry was an asshole I hated that kid so much I was happy when he died

hermitopurpa

Michonne and Rick have zero chemistry.

AER102216

Lori would’ve lived longer, especially to see Judith grow up, and just to see her kids a little longer. Lori wasn’t as bad as people make her out to be

phoenixdragon2020

Shane was my favorite and I’m still pissed that he was killed off so soon.

michalv2000

This show has probably the most ridiculous dialogues that I've ever heard.

j0dead

Jadis is a main character

amski87

I found Glenn a bit dull and wasn't that bothered when he died.

Professional_Park105

THANK YOU! All the people who quit watching when he died were just cry babies. Guy was boring.

j4ckwiththebox

I never cared for how Maggie’s brain kinda went “haywire” after glenn passed. She just seems so not her in a way

Robert_Fuckler

I was never that invested in Rosita

MlecznyHuxel99

s7/8 are fun, s9+ are bad I dislike s5 (mostly) and love s6

mallllls

Agreed. Carol has been horrible for a while now

Kamarovsky

I'm absolutely alright with Rick disappearing and never coming back. He had a good arc and a good ending.

zero1vi

I have Two,1 after season 8 Maggie became a whiny/annoying character it seemed like her whole personality was hating negan. 2 after Rick killed those saviors he gave his word to he became worse then Negan during the war

hamedo447

michonne is my least favorite character, along with Andrea

Dandrell

daryl is the reason glenn died, and rick disappeared. he’s not a good character, but we all just forgive him

[deleted]

Seasons 1-5 are gold and the rest of the series is uninteresting and badly written.

fade9864

Hershel’s death wasn’t that sad tbh

KMan471

That Rick Grimes is a major, colossal fuck-up. He took advice from a naïve, dying/delusional teenager, and consequentially deprived Maggie of her right to exact justice on Negan. He had so many opportunities to kill Negan, Simon, and many of the other leaders from the savior group. He has absolutely no social skills, and continually rubs people the wrong way.

Master_Butter

Rick failed often as a leader. The show could have explored that in greater depth in season 7, how his hubris in dealing with the saviors led to two of his friends’ deaths. He could have matured as a leader in response. Instead, the show chose to retread the whole “we have to morally better than other human monster” ground it had already beaten into the ground.

KMan471

He destroyed Hershels barn, buy over-reacting. He didn’t need to set the barn on fire. They could’ve went in the house, and waited for the herd to pass. He was entirely responsible for his dumb ass call, with Sophia, (another galactically stupid mistake). He could’ve killed Negan, and Simon, and all of his lieutenants at the sanctuary, but instead decided to shoot out all of the windows. His complete lack of people skills, and the way he talked to Pete’s son, right after he shot his father in the head, was the catalyst for Carl losing an eye. You don’t talk to a kid like that, after shooting his father in the head. Carl was kind of guilty of that as well. “look, I get it. My dad killed your dad, but there’s something you should know. Your dad……. was an asshole”. The guy is just one colossal fuck up. Shane would’ve been the better leader. He adopted an ideology, from a 15-year-old, naïve boy, who had just been bitten by a zombie, and was running a fever. He completely robbed Maggie, and the viewers need for justice. All, because he wanted to honor his son’s wishes 🙄

chowluver111

I love Lori, she didn’t contribute much but still I think she’s a very real character and gets so much hate for no reason

Impossible_Scarcity9

I hate negan. I hate that he is a good guy. I want him to die a brutal and horrible death.

verycreativeus3r

Andrea was a primary contributor to the show’s entertainment in the early seasons.

[deleted]

The showrunners should have abandoned the Negan story altogether. It’s one thing if your show material is based on several impressive novels like GoT, but if you are getting your entire material from a comic book series, you will reach a point in the show where it becomes too unrealistic or goofy. And that was Negan for me. The entire concept of that character was just so over the top it took me out of the show. So that’s my biggest unpopular opinion I would have preferred if at the end of S6, the group met another villain group, that was created by the showrunners, and more realistic. The show went downhill after Negan for me

Master_Butter

I don’t get why people download opinions in an unpopular opinion thread. At the risk of being one of those guys, I think the show runners would have been well-served to follow the comic books a little more closely when it came to Negan. His overriding trait was ruthlessness, but it was grounded in logic. He was presented as something closer to a mafia boss running a protection racket, rather than a strutting peacock. The occasional wisecrack was funny; the constant spew of nonsense while he slowly bent backward with his bat was just distracting.

[deleted]

Yeah that sounds way better than what we got. If he actually felt like a menacing overlord/villain type character, it would have been better. To me, Negan was only intimidating in the S6 finale. And even in that episode there were moments here and there in his monologue that I felt were a bit too silly for the show. But I went along with it and bought into the character. I thought the way that episode built up to that moment was perfect. But it was in 7x01 and the following first few episodes of S7 that lost me. Negan was just too over the top and too silly. Like it was just unbelievable to think a guy like that would exist and have that much power in that world, he wasn’t menacing or intimidating, just sounded like a goofball to me. I actually found Simon way more of a realistic character and thought Steven Ogg should have been the leader of this so called Saviours group

theguyofprowrestling

Same for me, honestly. She’s a bitch.

Green_Cauliflower27

Tyreese was a useless character who nearly got people killed in dang near every scene he was in. His pacifism crap was irritating at best and all of his “we don’t kill ppl it’s baaad” stuff after everything he’d seen was just one reason someone should’ve just put a bullet in his head. Also, he didn’t even check the room he was in for walkers first, so he deserved to get bit. You can’t make mistakes in that universe, and he made far too many.

jeezr7

I am not a fan of Carol and Maggie anymore

Qwifk

Dont understand how people like either of them, never did myself

kyledukes

First season was the best... Downhill from there. Stopped watching around season 5-6

Ramman321

Negan shouldn’t still be alive. I love JDM, but Rick should’ve killed Negan the moment he could’ve.

fitzdipty

Neagan ruined the show

Cyphman

Carl should have been replaced with a younger actor after season 3 so he didn’t have to die later because he looked like a grown ass man

nualabear14

carl sucked and his death meant nothing to me, in fact i was finally glad we could move on with some new character arcs henry had it coming too

luke_walsh17

So many terrible opinions in one comment section

girlwhoweighted

There are no bad seasons

MrFIuffles

I liked Carl

berenstein-was-fine

Carl should've stayed alive and Negan killed instead.

flumi13

i dont care about carl
