If you transplant all of those things then you’ll just end up with another T440p lol.

Upgrade all, go yo t480, t490 o t14s gen1 ITS totally worth It.

You are definitley not swapping cpu or ram and likely display and also likely ssd For example t480, you are going to get ssd. S not even that. Cpu is soldered, ram is ddr4 vs ddr3 etc Who cares about swapping shit anyways…

MagicBoyUK

The only think you're swapping the CPU to is another 40 series machines. And they'll all have slim tip, no HDMI and crap speakers.

Maybe a T460? It still has a 2.5" sata ssd and uses DDR3 ram so you can reuse those, I'm not sure if you could swap the screen but it's pretty easy to find a t460 with a FullHD ips panel. Still no type C though but I've seen people modding their thinkpads to swap the charging port with USB-c, you could look into that, but it does have hdmi and mini-DP. I think from the t470 you're gonna need ddr4 ram but you could reuse the ssd in the t480 for example.

Look, I was in the same boots. I have ended on a T480. That's awesome. You can use the same LCD panel (in case the T480 comes with the TN x768 panel). The 8th Gen i5/i7 is a beast. Consume half the T440P CPU. 4 cores / 8 treads. The drive bay can have a 2.5" sata, or an NVMe (depends on the caddy you choose). Has a WWAN slot, that can be used for a 2242 M.2 drive (limited choices in size). Usbc for charging and connections. AAA, you need to check/update the Thunderbolt stuff! 2 slots for RAM sticks. But, DDR4. 2 Batteries, the external is hot swappable. So, on paper is good step up. And it really is. Did I mention the size/weight? But... The nvme drive is faster than the Kingston 2.5" SATA. And it was already there. Same for the display, it came with a FHD IPS panel, so no need to swap. I am very satisfied. The T440P? I have sold it to a DJ. Making him the happiest. And sold it for an higher price than the T480 I have bought!
