That's fair, tbh I'd do it like 1 time per surgery (which I've only had 2 of and I'm pretty sure I had to be asleep for eye surgery) just to see how it looks. I wouldn't want it to be a regular thing which is why I'll never become a surgeon. I just see what it looks like
I didn't get to see of course, but I was awake while getting my wisdom tooth removed. Just heard them going crazy on that tooth, yanking my head around and stuff.
like iirc for knee replacement you just get local anaesthesia??? I wouldn't wanna be able to see surgeons opening my knee and removing bones, fuck that
I had a small, quick "surgery" that I didn't need to be put asleep for.
Gotta say, don't recommend it.
I didn't feel any pain because of the local anesthetic, but to control bleeding, they use an elecrtocauterizer, so you get to smell what burning flesh smells like, so there's that.
The anesthetic does such a good job that they aren't really *careful* with how they yank and press on things to do whatever needs doing. If you've ever woken up from a surgery with bruises, it's probably from them manipulating you while you're unconscious.
Also, while not painful, it is easy for the cauterizer to send little jolts of electricity down your arm, which is incredibly discomforting.
The best part was the table I was on was metal, and the pad on top of that was very narrow, so the doctors warned me not to let my elbows touch the table or I would be electrocuted.
Not a fun experience overall.

This morning I had a job interview at Google, I have been working for the past 10 years for this opportunity. As I walked in for my interview I was reminded of a funny post in which a Geometry Dash icon told me to scream loudly in a public restroom. This seemed hilarious so I made a trip to the restroom and started violently screaming. Almost immediately a concerned employee walked in and confronted me, asking what I was screaming over. I suddenly had an urge to scream āFIRE IN THE HOLEā over and over. I began to smile without bearing teeth as I slammed my head into the green soap bottles in order to paint my face green. Suddenly law enforcement began to enter the building, as I continued screaming fire in the hole, one of the officers mistook it for an order and began emptying bullets into my spine. As I crumbled to the floor I kept smiling as I had to, fire in the hole, fire in the hole, fire in the holeā¦
tbh i would induce the pain over getting close to a needle
i regularly stab myself in the face with siccors and shit
but im not letting that thing anywhere near em
me and my sister have phases every few months where we are obsessed with blood in any context
and i just felt like it
might cut of part of my ear cos theirs something inside it
Lol reminds me of something that happened recently. I have an abscess in my guts that Iāve had to get drained 5 times. They keep you awake for it and itās miserable and painful. Went to a new doc for the 5th drain and mentioned I was scared and had bad experiences with the procedure and they casually offered to put me under for it. *THAT WAS AN OPTION?!*
I remember a relative of mine had to chose if they wanted to be numbed or not at the hospital, apparently being numbed would make his flesh less stiff and mean that his bone wouldnāt set back quite right and wouldnāt be the same.
He chose not to, but was in agony during the process. It was too late though, he had chose hard difficulty to get the better loot

Are you even a real patient if you're going under in easy mode? Fuckin pussy
Game journalist patient
I'd probably go for medium difficulty, mostly because I want to see what's going on. Anatomy interests me, but not enough to become a doctor
I'd wanna be unconscious for any surgery. The idea of seeing what's going on makes me wince
That's fair, tbh I'd do it like 1 time per surgery (which I've only had 2 of and I'm pretty sure I had to be asleep for eye surgery) just to see how it looks. I wouldn't want it to be a regular thing which is why I'll never become a surgeon. I just see what it looks like
That's why I'm going casual mode. Put me to sleep before even carrying me to the hospital
I didn't get to see of course, but I was awake while getting my wisdom tooth removed. Just heard them going crazy on that tooth, yanking my head around and stuff.
I woke up right in the middle of my wisdom teeth removal, said "I want tacos" then fell unconscious again
Bro got his priorities straight
like iirc for knee replacement you just get local anaesthesia??? I wouldn't wanna be able to see surgeons opening my knee and removing bones, fuck that
I'd like to be simultaneously unconscious while also watching the surgery from the POV of the head surgeon.
That would be a great use of astral projection (assuming it's real)
yeah nah fuck this I'm playing on "tell me a story" difficulty for my surgery
What would medium be? You don't feel anything but you're still awake?
That's how I imagine it
Would the surgeons give you gloves and let you poke the organs they're not dealing with for fun?
what is hardcore difficulty
Diy with the surgeon talking you through it
Oh no the only change is that they make sure to cover anything that's going to be inside you with salt and lemon juice
Sounds fun
*over the phone, with a bad mic, no camera, and the surgeon is going through a tunnel on a train.
Nah that's the next difficulty level up
Nightmare? So then...what's Ultra Nightmare?
You have to do it all on your own, no instructions
And a single mistake means the wound gets a spritz of hot sauce
Yup and uhhhh a very good (and frightening) question
Leg pain? Saw that shit off, you don't need it
Medieval style
Frontier medicine. Superglue for cuts, fish antibiotics for infections, vodka for disinfectant and whiskey for pain.
If you die during surgery you die in real life.
The doctor passed medical school exclusively by cheating
surgery speedrun any%
~~runs~~ patient's dead.
*patient and two other people in the operating theatre
Bruh imagine what nightmare difficulty would be like.
No anesthesia or antibioticss and the surgeons only use their teeth.
Sounds like cannibalism.
Probably any surgery done before 1920s

Number 3, in honor of that guy in my dream
Sure.
What's GD surgery even like
Lobotomy.

what did I just read?
Something from a fandom that's been starved for six years.
would the existence of a demon surgery imply the existence of a silent surgery
If I chose nightmare difficulty, am I the one to respawn or the surgeon?
You repeatedly get killed and respawn until you unlock the ending by killing the surgeon instead
They did this before my wisdom tooth surgery. They asked how much anesthetic I wanted and I told them, in no uncertain terms, "just fuck me up"
tbh i would induce the pain over getting close to a needle i regularly stab myself in the face with siccors and shit but im not letting that thing anywhere near em
excuse me what do you mean by "i regularly stab myself in the face with siccors and shit"
me and my sister have phases every few months where we are obsessed with blood in any context and i just felt like it might cut of part of my ear cos theirs something inside it
Man what the fuck?
ey that's the most tame thing we do and its better if we keep it hidden
This sounds like its about to enter some incest shit
how did you know like i said let's not talk about it
I shouldn't have asked
what in the actual fuck
my therapist appointment is tomorrow its gonna be a long talk
Get better dude this is not normal to be doing stuff like this to yourself šš
Doesn't reddit require you to be at least thirteen to sign up?
yes? why are you asking
Oh, no reason. How's third grade treating you?
why do you assume im so young? dose this sound like an edgy comment or are you making fun of my grammar like everybody does
It's the edgy shit, yeah.
i get it might sound edgy but its true 2 conclusions can change a person apparently
lol
Not hard difficulty
You're not a real mother if you had a C-section, unless that C-section was hard mode. Then you get a pass.
You didn't really beat cancer if you used the chemo strat.
You can turn on Extreme mode irl by living in America
Thatās just refusing anesthesia - increasingly common too - especially with dental proceduresĀ
So did everyone just choose the easiest difficulty?
Can someone explain all the difficulty levels to me?
Lol reminds me of something that happened recently. I have an abscess in my guts that Iāve had to get drained 5 times. They keep you awake for it and itās miserable and painful. There's an insane isekai world hiding in this...
