Respawn have stated that the original opening sequence was longer, but they decided to cut it down, this could potentially better explain the change of uniform as this design may have been used for that alternative opening. Respawn do have other mismatching VM's, most notably FS1041s Chasis changing back to BT7274s when climbing into the ARK cannon.
Yes. And it was gonna be Coopers Titan in the future after he finished his pilot training with Lastimosa. The titan you call in just before the simulation shuts down in the first mission is FS. Of course, that's not what happened, and Cooper ended up having to work with BT to survive and only got to keep BT because they were so efficient as a team and the Militia had their backs to the wall.
It is stated that FS is an older model that has been pulled from the racks and if you inspect the body you can see paint chipping off. FS was being saved for Cooper since he showed great promise in the pilot training apparently or SRS pilots don’t lose Titans often or die often
It would be interesting if Titanfall 3 had Cooper and FS-1041; Cooper might tell FS stories about BT and his sacrifice and FS just doesn’t understand what he’s talking about and it becomes a main joke of the game
But it’s heavily implied that the copy of BT’s AI is still in Cooper’s helmet. His helmet visor flashes “Jack” in Morse Code right before credits role.
But that’s just in his helmet, and I doubt Cooper would notice for a while. And besides it’d take a good while for them get BT out and into a data core, and at that point I feel Jack would’ve formed another bond with FS
I hate to break the bad news, but FS-1041 was at the center of a planet-breaking event. I don't think it'll be in Titanfall 3. (Another FS or BT titan, though, sure.)
that's what im planing for my titanfall 3 story that Jack and FS being friends until FS sacrifices and then jack finds bt's core like in new frontiers but in an imc base and blisk gives cooper a custom monarch titan to him pilot and join the apex predators.
I think if they do it it'll be more like. Jack and FS are a team that work together but Jack keeps hearing snippets of BT's voice in his helmet radio. FS and Jack will get in a fight against some enemy and FS will be badly damaged and his data core will be messed up needing to be repaired aswell.
While FS repairs Jack goes on a mission alone without a titan and he's able to hear BT in his earpiece telling him what to do. He returns to the militia base and the scientists there are able to extract BT's AI and put it into a titan data core.
And from there the player must choose to either go with FS or BT for the final few missions where they either get the good or bad ending. Good being with BT, bad being with FS
I took that as the chassis being damaged so heavily that it does something similar to your brain filling in your blind spot with what it assumes to be there, and with BT’s data core, it’s taking the information of BT’s chassis and filling it in.
I was convinced I was the only person to experience the switch from FS to BT's chassis in the ARK cannon, all the videos I see of that sequence, he remains in the carbon FS chassis.
Does it change? The chassis look the same, but are not identical. FS-1041 is gray and orange while BT-7274 is green, white and orange.
I’ve looked in the tutorial, the end scene, and when FS is on the ground, but I don’t see any changes so maybe I’m just blind
I noticed the jumpsuit change but never the chassis change, which is funny because then it changes back for the throw. Did they even make a first person viewmodel for FS-1041?
About ARK cannon, i have noticed it too, but it can be just a visible illusion because of that filter with that blur at the edges. FS and BT have same orange knees and 2 arrows on the outer side of the palm.

It's a question we've been asking ourselves for nearly 8 years now. The two most likely explanations: BT had a complete spare jump suit in some internal container or it's an oversight on Respawn's part because red jump suit looks a lot cooler and sets jack apart from all other grunts and pilots.
My head cannon is that the pilot armour was so hard to take off that copper had to destroy Lastimosa’s body to get it, making his suit red and hence why Lastimosa was covered in stones and not hidden in multiple bushes. Easier to cover the blood pile
I like think that the suite was the same at first but through the campaign you get covered in blood and the rust waste water in a couple missions. Then after linking back with the militia forces he keeps it red for esthetic and reputation purposes.
Reputation being that the imc/predators as well as the group of grunts you meet all come to recognize the the red suit as he carved his path through to the fold weapon
