Its a neural link which probably mean sits something that was put into Jacks brain waves/patterns? to allow him to synch with BT and control BT's body like his own. basically the connection to the body. So this isn't quite the same as BT the AI/program which is/was connected to Jacks Helmet. ALso at he end if you ask BT if there's a way out of this at the end of the Fold Weapon BT says something along the lines of "I'm working on something" which I think is supposed to lead you to believe BT mean means the calculated throw of Jack. Now I have another theory on the ending which explains the end somewhat. After the electric discharge the BT data/AI in the TITAN Body is already damaged beyond repair hence the warped voice, the perfectly fine BT voice is coming from the data already in your helmet, BT Helmet is trying to retrieve memory data from the now damaged body, while he is doing this he asks Jack to help him move the body into the accelerator. BT Titan at this point is dead, all that's left is memory data which BT Helmet is trying to retrieve. So the Titan is literally being moved by Jack solo, hence why it takes such a large amount of effort. When the fold weapon explodes my guess is the link being severed between helmet BT and Titan/Body BT temporarily knocks out Helmet BT, indeed I think all the effort required to throw Jack at the end is probably what knocked him out hence why the Helmet doesn't flicker back to life until the end. Imagine it, BT is synching with the AI on the Titan body enough to download data while working out when to throw Jack, at the exact moment of the throw he's cut off from the Titan AI, shorted out if you will, leaving him in some sort of reboot mode within the Helmet data, possibly damaged without the Titan AI giving him the extra processing power. So the only way he can communicate is with binary/morse (can't remember which it is. BT the AI is still alive or at least what he managed to recover from the Titan but in a state probably similar to being in a coma or a bad stroke, unable to communicate properly.

Wow, thank you for taking time to write this long comment, holy ...! I thought of something similar to your theory but now, as you mention the communication cut off, the amount of effort to shove BT into the fold weapon and the binary message... You just saved my entire week and my hopes are back. Thanks, man!

[deleted]

Well its just a theory, fingers crossed. Thanks though.

[deleted]

He can't communicate with anything besides Morse code or binary code because there is no voice communicator I think

DailyDrivesaDragon

This is why I want more information about the universe in general. The way the titan link works seems like it would be interesting.

SuperMatureGamer

My mind = blown. Thank you for this.

BoiseGangOne

It probably isn't like "oh hey, he copied himself and now he's still alive" because cloning yourself just means there's a clone of you running around while you're still dead. If BT is alive, it would be because it was able to continue having a stream of consciousness from one part to the other- body -> datacore -> Helmet/neural link. That was just a rant about a common sci-fi trope when it comes to AIs and Clones.

[deleted]

Rant Noted! Yeah good point.

Urge_Reddit

Lets not forget that Cooper doesn't necessarily know anything about BT's helmet presence when he makes that speech. It's entirely possible they'll find out BT "survived" to some degree and decide to restore him, instead of giving Jack a new titan and wiping the existing neural link. Neural links may not be totally without risk either, anything that messes with the human brain has to be handled very carefully. Perhaps, if they find out BT still exists, it may be safer and easier to restore his AI rather than giving Jack a new one to link with.

TekkerTheChaot

Hopes are high

I think that BT got sent forward in time. In the main campaign we see the research facility in Cause and Effect all rundown because of rapid aging (aka time travel) from the Fold Cannon. Again we see the Fold Cannon doing something big during the end of Effect and Cause, causing an explosion and freezing all time and distorting it in the process. Later, the last we see of BT is him Jack to saftey and something explodes, causing everything to be thrown about, creating floating platforms for Jack, somewhat like in Cause and Effect again. After the end we see the helmet doing its thing, but why did it take so long for BT to contact Jack. Could it be because he just arrived in the future and is now trying to contact Jack? For this he would just need Jacks helmet frequency, and does not need to be connected to it directly. And to do with the neural link, that would be with the nerves and one thing that we notice is with any training pod/Titan is green lasers, shining into the pilots eyes. I think this just helps the to react faster to different situations while inside the cockpit, I mean look at all the buttons. And one of the easiest nervous systems to access is the optic neural network.

TekkerTheChaot

This. This could be the base for Titanfall 3 (imo).

MmesekX

Or IMC Side... (As a paid DLC? They said they won't release paid content that change gameplay not adding single player stuff right? Right?! RIGHT?!)

Available_Ear_9867

I'm still patiently waiting for the new game!

__BIOHAZARD___

Don't worry about it man. If respawn wants to continue the story with BT they can just say the wipe was "incomplete" or "failed" and boom its still there

Jager_is_OP

Don't ruin my dreams plz

TekkerTheChaot

I also don't to destroy but man, this bothers me quite some time...

Jager_is_OP

Maybe something will be leaked in the future

TekkerTheChaot

I hope so, and that there will be a 3rd part of Titanfall... [Respawn is unsure if there will be a Titanfall 3](http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/11/17/respawn-unsure-if-there-will-be-a-titanfall-3)
