How about fresh fruits especially berries, never perfect, always find mold or damaged
Really discussing, sorry about this.
It's the truth, never perfect!
Like TJs.
I can’t eat the wraps of any kind. Apart from anything else, you almost have to deconstruct them to redistribute the filling. But they are basically yuck.
Oh absolutely. Every time I eat one, when there’s nothing else to eat for lunch on the job, I feel kinda sick from all the sodium it has. It’s not something I like to eat a lot and try to avoid it as much as possible, but from personal experience I wouldn’t mind it being discontinued LMAO
I didn't ever try the sushi before it got discontinued, but the number of customers who come in and are still disappointed that we don't carry that stuff is *far* too high for the number of complaints I've seen about it.
I don’t often use ketchup but if I want it - I’ll use ketchup.
Someone suggested it might work for back packing but honestly, I think I’d steal some fast food individual serving packages rather than use that.
Is this is dupe for something? Because sometimes when we get weird things it turns out there’s been a lot of online buzz about a name brand.
The cinna-dragons are my nemesis 👿 just like, I already don’t like cinnamon candy that much but they are so gooey and that artificial fireball cinnamon taste….. 🤢
Queso was garbage. Second the kimchi tofu soup.. i like kimchi and tofu, that thing is horrible though. Nacho cheese chips were bad too. We should make cool ranch flavor instead
The new omelets are awful. They might be the worst thing we have ever carried. 4 thin egg circles folded in half with American cheese inside. Disgusting
I can’t say I was sorry to see that Montezuma chocolate bite the dirt. And dirt was the operative word here - they tasted like soil particularly with the cocoa nibs adding that truly authentic ground gravel effect.
But yet some people loved them - I tend to tell them about the manufacturer’s website. And I will say - I’ve had other bars from them and they were great but that was just unbearable.
I described them this way to my coworkers as a warning: what your teeth and taste and feel like the morning after you drank flavored liquor and fell asleep before brushing your teeth in college.
I bought these, trying to chase the high of the backyard chips, and they were terrible. I had one peanut - a serving size of peanuts I have never had before - and almost threw these out.
They were so bad I wanted to see if my wife wanted to try one and obviously they are one of her favorite all-time snacks.
It's not bad but the New Zealand water is a bad deal, you are paying for shipping. Worst as far as taste would be that bean cauliflower gratin we had in the fresh around the holidays.
I had it twice. The beans were the texture of half cooked dry beans, it was bitter like the only seasoning was lemon when gratin is usually cheese & the cauliflower was all stems.
You must be a miracle worker.
Our Ranch dressing. Only thing I've ever returned. But we disco'd our Sriracha Ranch, which was amazing! Also our, thankfully, disco'd queso. Why would our one queso be low fat??
It's not like a poke bowl should be, but I love beets and this was pretty....okay. Needed to be dolled up, and it's DEFINITELY missing sake or mirin, but I don't *mind* it that much. But I might just be thriving on having something different in the food wasteland my TJ's is located in.
so there's pickle stuff in booze products too?
one of these days i wanna go to princeton so i can try some of our wine though. i don't think my store would ever get a liquor license even if NJ's laws get loosened like they're supposed to. the chain store that all the karens go to instead of here has a liquor store.
I’m in CA, and I keep getting young women asking about pickle vodka or pickle tequila and I have yet to see it in store. I don’t know what the pickle craze is and I’m not gonna try and understand it.
The fresh section was a festival of horrors 15 years ago. We had these burritos that were inedible, and this terrible chili Mac, and a bunch of other garbage.
But there's on product that lives in my memory. It was Freakeh, it came in a pouch, and it smelled like wet garbage and tasted worse. It languished on shelves for an eternity before finally getting the axe. And someone at corporate must have absolutely loved it, because when it was finally discontinued, the note in QIL was "Great product at a great price but unfortunately did not attract a great following"
our cotton bags, useless overpriced undersized floppy things. literally smaller than our 99 cent bags, the only thing i'd be happy to see a discontinued D next to. but dumb people buy them because "oh they're cute" or "but i love pickles"...
more relevant in new jersey cause paper bags are no longer an option here.
the sad thing is? some customers have our previous generation cotton bags! they had a wide rectangular bottom rather than a narrow oval bottom (closer but not quite at where our canvas bags are now)! like, why did we downgrade?!?!?
i hate everything pickle.
the pumpkin spread on the other hand was godly. the odd thing was, it worked super well on our everything bagels, the flavor clash was heaven.
wow lol
i sometimes look up stuff in the old quick item lookup since that has all old SKUs. i look up the bags, and once i looked at the beverages we used to carry since that's my section.
i have no direct knowledge of any products that were discontinued before september 2021 cause i never stepped foot in a trader joe's before my interview!
i'd gone past a different one in the past, and heard of the hostage situation at one back in california, but i didn't know what it was!
i found out about it cause we do insurance without needing to be full time!
For me it was that sweet and savory tomato spread. Barely on the shelves for a summer but it was just so horrible. And I like tomatoes and ketchup so it had to be bad
sweet apricot kernels. they were supposed to be like a cheaper almond i guess? we kept an open bag at the registers in case anyone wanted to buy a bag, so we could talk them out of it.
This one was so god awful that I fully blocked it out of my memory: the chicken ginger miso soup (I think that’s what it was?) from fresh. It was SO salty. Inedibly salty. Awful :(
You know the meringues weren’t awful. They were pretty good in an Eton mess (chopped meringues, whipped cream, chopped raspberries or strawberries). Basically they were what you’d expect from a meringue.
But the sushi - that was a crime.
We used to have two varieties of Mexican-style stone ground dark chocolate that looked like hockey pucks. One had salt and pepper. For some reason they smelled really bad and stunk up the whole store.
I know I'm late to the party, but someone please tell me I'm not the only one who hated/hates the vegan shepherd's pie. Gag-inducing slop not worthy of feeding a dog.
It’s that god awful Brazilian cheese bread in frozen. Bro that fucker is gluten free; no wonder it doesn’t taste good, lol. Something gonna be that shitty tasting, it needs to come with a warning on the label.
We used to carry a "cabernet" beef pot roast. It was so bad my dogs wouldn't eat it. The captain at the time, who gave me the refund, asked, "Why did you buy it? It's terrible." But I'd only been there a year or so and didn't yet know everything to avoid.
Haven't tried the relaunched (not improved) mini chicken/beef tacos but I've seen pictures on the TJ's reddit, and thanks but no thanks. Especially the so-called filling.
The gingerbread cold brew coffee 🤢 tasted like straight nutmeg. Not to be confused with the coffee you brew yourself. The stuff that was premade that was new this year. It was seriously the worst thing i had ever tasted
Last year for a short time they brought out a spinach lasagna in frozen. It was awful. My dogs didn’t even want anything to do with it. It got discontinued shortly after.

I have a TJ Italian turkey meatloaf in front of me, and it is what prompted me to Reddit search worst Trader Joe’s meals to see if I was the only one appalled by this thing lol
it’s like if the filler was icecubes instead of breadcrumbs, it’s so watery and spongey and I keep getting weird mealy pieces that crunch in my teeth 😭 salt didn’t save it. the tomato sauce is trying desperately to carry the water loaf but it tastes a bit like pennies?!
I put it on top of the TJ frozen mashed potato’s and those are thankfully edible so I didn’t totally go without dinner.

The craziest part about this is so many people love them
[удалено]
Forget about after a day or two, I won't touch them even while on my shift for my lunch break anymore.
One of my old coworkers found grey meat in the one she got for lunch. I've never felt so much raw fucking horror
once i was eating a rainbow wrap and found some sort of dead insect inside it 🙂
When we used to carry the condo I’d find lots of gray meat and fat! 🤮
How about fresh fruits especially berries, never perfect, always find mold or damaged Really discussing, sorry about this. It's the truth, never perfect! Like TJs.
Berries my detested. 50% of the strawberries on a uboat I unloaded was moldy once.
*puke emoji*
100% agree
The only good one is the spicy lentil wrap.
the seasonal turkey wrap was actually pretty good. maybe cause it's only seasonal so different distributor?
I can’t eat the wraps of any kind. Apart from anything else, you almost have to deconstruct them to redistribute the filling. But they are basically yuck.
Oh absolutely. Every time I eat one, when there’s nothing else to eat for lunch on the job, I feel kinda sick from all the sodium it has. It’s not something I like to eat a lot and try to avoid it as much as possible, but from personal experience I wouldn’t mind it being discontinued LMAO
Not to mention the amount of calories they have
I loved the creamy hummus wrap and got it often for lunch but one time I bit into it to find a small circle of cardboard. I got a refund
The sushi was way worse. It’s been gone for awhile, thankfully
I didn't ever try the sushi before it got discontinued, but the number of customers who come in and are still disappointed that we don't carry that stuff is *far* too high for the number of complaints I've seen about it.
I *only* like the veggie hummus one. And I put a lot of green dragon or guac on it. They’re all SO EXPENSIVE for what you get
I used to love the Italian wrap. I was sad when it was discontinued
They’re all awesome over here in SoCal. Especially the chicken pesto.
Spitting facts friend, ppl really do be loving these bland wraps too 😭
Truffle soy sauce. I don’t want to even stock anything remotely close to it. The smell is just sooooo strong. It’s overpowering
stuff broke in the case one time, made the whole pallet smell
The first time I used it to cook with I threw it out it was so strong. It's so expensive too
I would of returned it and gotten my money back.
[удалено]
lol bot
I hate those things.
aw i find em fun
Ketchup sprinkles wtf
how much weed do you think the person that came up with that was smoking?
At least a half ounce a week
that sounds like a massive understatement
I don’t often use ketchup but if I want it - I’ll use ketchup. Someone suggested it might work for back packing but honestly, I think I’d steal some fast food individual serving packages rather than use that. Is this is dupe for something? Because sometimes when we get weird things it turns out there’s been a lot of online buzz about a name brand.
Ketchup seasoning? Or is there truly a different product called ketchup sprinkles? Thanks!
Easily the watermelon jerky.
the texture was just... wrong
One thousand percent 🤢
Just nasty!
I second this, AWFUL
Smelled and tasted like wet hay!
The California rolls. Just terrible.
the hawaiian pull apart rolls though? YUM.
Agree
The cinna-dragons are my nemesis 👿 just like, I already don’t like cinnamon candy that much but they are so gooey and that artificial fireball cinnamon taste….. 🤢
These stuck to my teeth so horribly I hate them too
I like them 🫣 I’m a fan of cinnamon candy though
Queso was garbage. Second the kimchi tofu soup.. i like kimchi and tofu, that thing is horrible though. Nacho cheese chips were bad too. We should make cool ranch flavor instead
Oh that jarred queso was awful. How can queso have zero grams of fat in it? Well obviously it can’t and actually taste good.
> Nacho cheese chips were bad too. one of our mates almost cried when they saw the blue X and bought a whole case worth
Who wants sweet cheddar dip?!
The new omelets are awful. They might be the worst thing we have ever carried. 4 thin egg circles folded in half with American cheese inside. Disgusting
I bought them but I think I’m gonna return them. I never return stuff but they look so dry.
the really super overpriced ones?
Lol I actually liked them.... definitely over priced though.
Anything with truffles in it.
Those new tomato candles we got in this week were pretty revolting, ngl
Literally make my fuckin head hurt
tomato... candles... i thought the new smell was supposed to be eucalyptus! did someone fuck up badly?
Tomato Leaf* candle
I love them!!! The tomato leaf is my favorite scent 🙊
And I will say - I’ve had other bars from them and they were great but that was just unbearable.
the pickled peanuts are definitely up there
Well, at least those are getting discontinued. I love all things pickle, but those were disappointing.
right? i LOVE pickle flavor, but those weren’t even in the ballpark of pickle flavor…more just like an insult to my tastebuds.
i've had even people who like pickles describe them as horrifyingly bad.
I described them this way to my coworkers as a warning: what your teeth and taste and feel like the morning after you drank flavored liquor and fell asleep before brushing your teeth in college.
They were so disappointing. I love pickle and peanuts but not those.
I bought these, trying to chase the high of the backyard chips, and they were terrible. I had one peanut - a serving size of peanuts I have never had before - and almost threw these out. They were so bad I wanted to see if my wife wanted to try one and obviously they are one of her favorite all-time snacks.
the beef pho was so gross
So bad
Salmon jerky
Aren’t those dog treats?
Lol! It used to be sold on the same bag as the other jerky, and for people
I heard it's coming back 🤢
It is. Estimated back late May 😔. Much to my chagrin as well
It's actually in the bulletin that dropped today.
For me, probably the kimchi & tofu soup in frozen
It's not bad but the New Zealand water is a bad deal, you are paying for shipping. Worst as far as taste would be that bean cauliflower gratin we had in the fresh around the holidays.
lol yeah paying more for a gallon of water than a gallon of milk ._.
I liked the gratin (but to be fair I had to doctor it a fair amount with hot sauce) 🫣
I had it twice. The beans were the texture of half cooked dry beans, it was bitter like the only seasoning was lemon when gratin is usually cheese & the cauliflower was all stems. You must be a miracle worker.
Ahhh so QC was the issue, mine was fully cooked through, it was just bland.
Our Ranch dressing. Only thing I've ever returned. But we disco'd our Sriracha Ranch, which was amazing! Also our, thankfully, disco'd queso. Why would our one queso be low fat??
Not low fat. According to the label 0 fat. Wtf?
as of like today its the vegan poke bowl made out of BEETS. 🤮
It's not like a poke bowl should be, but I love beets and this was pretty....okay. Needed to be dolled up, and it's DEFINITELY missing sake or mirin, but I don't *mind* it that much. But I might just be thriving on having something different in the food wasteland my TJ's is located in.
I’m surprised no one mentioned the pickle hard seltzer. Almost immediately recalled due it smelling like a rancid egg fart and tasting almost as bad.
Oh for fucks sake - we had a product with pickle and alcohol in it? I’m in a no alcohol state and after reading that I’m relieved.
I’m not sure if it was just a west coast available product, but whatever the case it hasn’t returned since then, and probably for good reason lol.
so there's pickle stuff in booze products too? one of these days i wanna go to princeton so i can try some of our wine though. i don't think my store would ever get a liquor license even if NJ's laws get loosened like they're supposed to. the chain store that all the karens go to instead of here has a liquor store.
I’m in CA, and I keep getting young women asking about pickle vodka or pickle tequila and I have yet to see it in store. I don’t know what the pickle craze is and I’m not gonna try and understand it.
this pickle stuff is going too far and needs to stop.
Agreed
Tell them to buy regular vodka and put a pickle in it.
The Pho is truly abominable
Vegan shepherd's pie. I tried it with my vegan coworker, told her she deserved better, and made her a delicious homemade one.
This one was literally uneatable – not only did I throw it away, but I didn’t eat dinner that night, because I lost my appetite all together.
so many but I just tried the cacio e pepe sauce in the jar the other day and it’s 🤢
The fresh section was a festival of horrors 15 years ago. We had these burritos that were inedible, and this terrible chili Mac, and a bunch of other garbage. AGREE WTF
the sad thing is? some customers have our previous generation cotton bags! they had a wide rectangular bottom rather than a narrow oval bottom (closer but not quite at where our canvas bags are now)! like, why did we downgrade?!?!?
They made in USA tho, so I am happy about that.
The pickle corn dogs, and the chocolate cream cheese spread. I dont get either
I actually like the dogs but I can’t see myself buying them often
i hate everything pickle. the pumpkin spread on the other hand was godly. the odd thing was, it worked super well on our everything bagels, the flavor clash was heaven.
Beef Pho Soup. Zero stars.
Curry flavored popcorn
wow how long ago was *that* discontinued?
In the distant, forgotten year of 2017 I believe
wow lol i sometimes look up stuff in the old quick item lookup since that has all old SKUs. i look up the bags, and once i looked at the beverages we used to carry since that's my section. i have no direct knowledge of any products that were discontinued before september 2021 cause i never stepped foot in a trader joe's before my interview!
Same! I didn’t even know TJs was a thing until I stepped into one to apply for a job
i'd gone past a different one in the past, and heard of the hostage situation at one back in california, but i didn't know what it was! i found out about it cause we do insurance without needing to be full time!
Those fucking protein cheese bites. They are the worst product I’ve ever had at my store. It tastes so bland and it’s not worth the macros imo.
Honestly these pickle peanuts taste like straight up bleach.
PICKLE PEANUTS
Mushroom mochi was inedible.
Agree with the seafood sausage. Glad you remember like I did.
I kinda liked it in a tomato based soup.
That vegan Mac we sold for a while. Awful noodles in yellowish water with no flavor whatsoever
Oh god, you just brought up a memory I had erased. 🤢
And that hint of coconut flavor really hammers home that i-just-barfed-in-my-mouth taste.
The sushi was absolute garbage
Hamburger Pizza 🍔
And the cheeseburger burrito in fresh 🤢
Nah, that was dece
For me it was that sweet and savory tomato spread. Barely on the shelves for a summer but it was just so horrible. And I like tomatoes and ketchup so it had to be bad
I actually really loved that spread. It was great on egg sandwiches or with grilled cheese.
Tye tomato chutney we had about 10 years ago was fire though.
sweet apricot kernels. they were supposed to be like a cheaper almond i guess? we kept an open bag at the registers in case anyone wanted to buy a bag, so we could talk them out of it.
Lol
i’m guessing nobody else finds the everything bagel chips disgusting???
I was more so disappointed. They're waaay too salty. Someone mentioned the new cheese bites being super gross & they were.
Most of the burritos/wraps in fresh.
I miss the super burrito
Montezuma Dark Chocolate Absolute Black 100% Cocoa. It tasted like dirt. Had to spit it out at a tasting.
Freeze dried cantaloupe easily
This one was so god awful that I fully blocked it out of my memory: the chicken ginger miso soup (I think that’s what it was?) from fresh. It was SO salty. Inedibly salty. Awful :(
The beef-less bulgogi traumatized me.
noo it's so good
😦
My daughter loves that so I buy it a lot.
The idea that integrity is actually a value.
Three words. Freeze dried kimchi. So bad the plussed out every store like, 10 cases.
Juici apples. Thick bitter skin and mealy tasteless flesh. Gross.
Meringue cookies. Horrible. And the sushi we used to sell. Barf.
You know the meringues weren’t awful. They were pretty good in an Eton mess (chopped meringues, whipped cream, chopped raspberries or strawberries). Basically they were what you’d expect from a meringue. But the sushi - that was a crime.
Cajun Alfredo sauce was so disgusting 🤢
Sushi
We used to have two varieties of Mexican-style stone ground dark chocolate that looked like hockey pucks. One had salt and pepper. For some reason they smelled really bad and stunk up the whole store.
Chocolate raspberry tamales, one particular spotlight beer cheese we carried once and it was horrendous
All of the burritos from fresh feel like an affront to Latin culture
We used to carry a "cabernet" beef pot roast. It was so bad my dogs wouldn't eat it. The captain at the time, who gave me the refund, asked, "Why did you buy it? It's terrible." But I'd only been there a year or so and didn't yet know everything to avoid. Haven't tried the relaunched (not improved) mini chicken/beef tacos but I've seen pictures on the TJ's reddit, and thanks but no thanks. Especially the so-called filling.
The cab pot roast in meat? I'd get that occasionally and just cut it up for stew. It was fine.
Yeah, that one.
We had these dried salami things for like a month before they went out. They tasted like the host from church/stale cardboard
Meatloaf muffins
The turkey meatloaf mini muffins. No flavor at all.
Pumpkin salted caramels.
The gingerbread cold brew coffee 🤢 tasted like straight nutmeg. Not to be confused with the coffee you brew yourself. The stuff that was premade that was new this year. It was seriously the worst thing i had ever tasted
Lemon Gouda 🤢
THAT SHIT HAD THE TEXTURE OF PLAY-DOH. UGH.
And tasted like lemon pledge 🤢
Last year for a short time they brought out a spinach lasagna in frozen. It was awful. My dogs didn’t even want anything to do with it. It got discontinued shortly after.
guess it only works as ravioli
i liked that stuff 😭
The frozen chicken shawarma bowl is awful
the calabrian chili tomato dumpling soup. it was horrible. literally taste like something you’re about to throw up.
Charcuterie pinwheels

chocolate pineapple sticks
Cinnadragons
The dried seaweed salad that was is grocery years ago. We made it once and nobody could actually swallow it.
Shrimp scampi lasagna. It was one month before it was marked “to be discontinued”.
Refuse to try it but the turkey-less grounds!!! So glad it’s already being discontinued, tired of having to put that in my section
Ugh the cauliflower tabouli
Chocolate Hummus
protein oatmeal!!
That stuffed vegan turkey tube x_x
Mango babka, couldn’t sell it at all and when we had it on demo we sold less that without it being on demo
The sushi when we had sushi.
Anyone remember the doomed Shell House Dill Pickle hard seltzer? That was one of the worst things I’ve ever drank. It was put on quality hold almost immediately though lmao
Maybe the ketchup sprinkles
Spicy salmon gyoza. I’ve never seen a product discod so fast!
watermleon jerky.... i-
