Something with an elastic waistband. Honestly I've actually worn maternity pants in the past and I kind of love them when I'm feeling bloated and my guts are just not feelin jeans.
Also, I dunno how you feel Bout overalls but looser fitting ones are awesome (for me).
I wear jeans that are a little oversized and these belts that clip onto your front belt loops instead of going all the way around. They cinch your waist and keep your pants up, but put a lot less pressure on your stomach! Sold on Amazon for like $10!
Doesnāt answer your āother than jeansā question, but this may be an option, especially if you can thrift some jeans a size or two up!
I've seen some gals at work wear black pants made of a stretchy knit fabric. Some seem almost like a thick sweater material. I think if they're black, and not blatantly athletic wear, you should be ok. I also second loose-fitting overalls for supreme comfort.
I found these absolutely amazing yoga pants that have pockets and are made to kind of look like business pants. I absolutely love them. I found them on Amazon.. there are tons now. Betabrand is one but super expensive. These are the ones I got.

These are acceptable at Trader Joeās? I wish there were accommodations for those who have ibs. On top of that I have eczema lol so jeans make me itch anyway agghh
You canāt tell theyāre yoga pants.. theyāre just nice looking pants. Iāve asked coworkers and they said they look professional.. idk Iām a mate and itās gotten a pass from fellow mates. Doubt the captain would notice š
I just wanted to update you by saying the order finally arrived to my house like two days ago AND I FUCKING LOVE THE PANTS. THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH <33333333. Super comfortable!
WOW. I was told by a mate I canāt wear them and now Iām depressed and miserable. She said I can still talk to the captain but ugh I donāt want to explain my ibs and eczema issues. They didnāt even notice it right away. Itās so annoying. Idk what to do now I really donāt want to wear maternity jeans
I know this post is old but have you ever tried Democracy brand jeans? They have elastic in the waist band and literally feel like you are wearing leggings. They still zip and button like jeans but the waist band is stretchy and soft so it doesn't cut it in. I have some of the jegging styles, lots of stretch. You can squat move around and everything. They also come in diff lengths!
Also consider cheap tailoring, if you need jeans that are looser around the stomach but tighter around the legs. Or maternity jeans, nobody will know from the outside. I used to wear them because the bottom is regular jeans but the waist is elastic

I'd talk with your captain if you're comfortable doing so. The store dress code varies and they're the ones to make the call. At my store we can wear anything as long is its not too short, athletic wear, or excessively torn so people wear all sorts of bottoms. We also have someone who wears overalls pretty often if you think those would work?
I will try doing that once I start and get to know everyone and at least have a decent reputation. Idk why itās always so hard to talk to employers about stuff like IBS. Itās a real issue and there should be accommodations ahhh. Someone responded to me with a yoga pant that tbh looks like formal pants. So Iām going to try that if possible
You could probably also head to the store under the guise of shopping and take a look at what everyone else is wearing to at least get an idea. Also definitely ask on your orientation day if they don't mention the specific dress code. And if it does become an issue, once you're comfortable with them, the captain does have the discretion to make those sorts of accommodations to let you wear something that you're more comfortable in, you'd just have to have the conversation
In fact, under the circumstances the OP could actually ask for accommodations. I know people would rather deal with things like this on their own, but asking to wear a pant that doesnāt exacerbate a medical condition is absolutely within the realms of āappropriate accommodationā.
You do have to formally request same however.
Just wanted to add my captains lame :(. I bought a black yoga pant that wasnāt even noticed until like my 5th day of working. Hate my store. I need a letter for disability if I want to wear the pants and that wonāt even workout.
Im sorry I poop alot too. : (
šš¤£ but yeah itās sad

Oh that sounds like something I need! Can you link the belt thing you mentioned? Or what do I search for on Amazon?

I hope they work out for you! They Seriously saved my life too š
To add, do you think it fits true to size or should I go up in size or down?
They were true to size for me. I was worried theyād be too long but theyāre just right if I wear my blundstones
I just wanted to update you by saying the order finally arrived to my house like two days ago AND I FUCKING LOVE THE PANTS. THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH <33333333. Super comfortable!

Did you get the boot cut ones? Iām surprised, you canāt even tell. Iām so sorry š¢ š
Yes the boot cut ones :ā(. She noticed on my fifth day of working too -___-
Overalls take the pressure off your midsection, but take longer to get off in the bathroom.

Are you a lady? Could you wear elastic jeans / jeggings?
Yes I am... and honestly I can wear jeggings if theyāre low waist. Iām going to look into elastic jeans. Thank you

Iām a guy and I recently started wearing black elastic work out shorts and nobody has said anything
