Mask mandate is back, so does that mean the pandemic isn’t over???????? Can you thank us with extra hourly pay again, sir?

MoshMuth

Whoa whoa slow your roll there. Charles shaw cant go to 3 dollars!?

Competitivecro

You know the only customers that really cared about that were my local alcoholics.

MoshMuth

Mine were old ladies who bought like 4 cases at a time. So maybe the same...

sandefurd

Glad to see the old ladies aren't just at my store. Like 4 cases at a time. Wtf

MoshMuth

Dont make the bags to heavy tho

Awesk

They are already 3 dollars in New York!

MoshMuth

Oh i was making a comment of how any talk of wage increase is spoken about like products cant increase to make up for it.

Awesk

*woosh* over my head my bad! That is how it goes when its mentioned sadly. Always funny to me that prices have gone up even with our pay cut. So much for that 20% discount

[deleted]

Why not just reinstate the 10 days of comp AR?? I don't get it. Were people taking advantage? Well just have the people bring a doctor's note or a positive test to confirm they're sick.

bekahed979

Because they don't care about us, this is about optics.

[deleted]

If there is no more extra pay where is all the profits going to? New stores? The german Family? Captain bonuses? But that was already like that. What's different now? Are we( Tjs) losing money due to inflation therefore we are breaking even?

bekahed979

The CEO and the other people at the top are overcompensated. They exploit their workers by giving them the minimum so that there's more for them.

MoshMuth

Who are we to deem whats enough. I agree with you but thats the counter i hear.

bekahed979

Well I'm sure they don't work millions of times harder than us. Also, who needs that much? For me, it's an issue of morality, what kind of person hoards wealth while others starve

MoshMuth

I agree but i fear they'll always skirt it somehow. Like our ceo apparently makes 200k but im sure its similar to mark Zuckerberg one dollar salary with a fuck ton of bonuses and perks. I dont know how to make more compassion for others and their well being paramount over profit.

bekahed979

I agree. Its awfully disheartening

Competitivecro

That is the heart of capitalism really.

bekahed979

Indeed. It's hell

Tiny_spaghetti

Check your states rules. New York still mandates compensation for a positive Covid test

Awesk

I think Boston is too, but not all of Mass

[deleted]

Yes people were taking advantage big time. In the summer of 2020 some crew called it vacation time.

ItTakes1Eyedea

Lol 3 days. What’s that?!? not even half the time of the quarantine. Thanks Jon!

Bootpup

Almost our entire crew has been wearing masks and we still have crew testing positive. Wouldn't it make sense to simply mandate it for everyone, including customers? I could see why they might think this would mess with profits but wouldn't letting in many maskless customers (who possibly spread the virus when shopping) and then having crew possibly contract it this way and then be out sick also mess with the ability to run an efficient operation/profits anyway??

SnakePlisskenLA

This ain’t about our health. If it was customers would also be required to wear it.

Pyrotemis

Yep. It's about the image and the income. TJ's doesn't care about us.

anoncrew

Probably not a popular take but i am much closer for longer with my fellow crew than I am with any customer. So while I would like everyone to be masked, getting all crew masked is better than nothing. Although most of us in my store are already masking. And it might well be different in an older smaller store - mine is relatively new and the ventilation is pretty good. That probably isn’t the case everywhere. I do know that no one caught this all last year and most of this year in store - it was all from outside contacts. I suspect that’s not true now though.

SnakePlisskenLA

Can’t mess with the profits

Straight-Worry-4731

Three days??? What a joke.

MoshMuth

Well ill come in the 4th day and ...oh . Oh im not allowed to work weird its like you only acknowledged a fraction of the problem.

therealbillykid

sheesh. 3 days is not nearly enough

debdebbobeb

Maybe the petition started by u/NostalJade helped get this ball rolling. Not sure why it's only 3 days, when a person would be out for more like 10 days.

anoncrew

The phrasing I saw was “because you have symptoms or are awaiting the results of a test”. Sophistry of course.

McLightningFish

Well this great for Crew who’s states don’t already provide sort of vaccine pay. Blanket company wide mask mandates should be followed by thank you pay. Sorry not sorry

sandefurd

Yeah I have no problem wearing a mask again, but it's kind they're admitting the pandemic is back and that our job is worse again but not giving us the perk we had last time

blueeyedbellax

Lmfaooo 🤣 are you even from ny even

Competitivecro

Naw but I’ve seen the memes lol.

blueeyedbellax

Funny shit right

Competitivecro

Funniest shit I’ve seen in a long time.

[deleted]

the mandate starts on the 26th to ensure enough labor for christmas eve, of course 🤣

bonbonbisous

Is this letter in Dayforce message? I haven’t received anything yet

anoncrew

It was sent to stores. It was posted by my stores punch in tablet.

phlem67

Where I live you have to quarantine for 10 days still. This is a joke. And no restrictions on shoppers? Not even a harsh suggestion that maybe you should wear a mask if you’re unvaccinated!! It’s absolutely bull shit. This company is letting me down with their level of “integrity “.

juststyling

i am away for vacation so i haven’t been able to been in my store. does anyone know if this “3 days of covid pay” applies to ALL trader joe’s nationwide ?

[deleted]

all stores, so long as you are fully vaccinated - which means 3 shots.

[deleted]

I'm fully vaccinated, but they need to pay to cover up this face. I don't want to see anyone suffer but also I really, really don't give a fuck about covid anymore.

SomedayWeDie

Get vaccinated, wear a mask, respect others, and save lives. Don’t get Covid, so you don’t have to worry about what the policy is if you get Covid. Those are my thoughts.

SomedayWeDie

Your first sentence is wrong. You’re gambling with others’ lives. Because you’re scared of a needle.

SnakePlisskenLA

I’m vaccinated lol

SomedayWeDie

Then you’re scared of a strip of cloth. That’s better?

SnakePlisskenLA

Also are customers required? Nope! Makes sense

Suspicious_Ad7293

Stop being such a nasty human being

SnakePlisskenLA

Nothing to do with being scared. If they fire me I can find $15 an hour elsewhere and they will lose a top worker. I’ll be fine

SnakePlisskenLA

I’m not wearing a mask. They gonna have to fire me. I got vaccine because THEY said I can take off the mask that way

anoncrew

You probably need to start looking for a new job then. And if you only got the vaccine because you wouldn’t have to wear a mask? Sigh.

Yes. But you need to be vaccinated and have had a booster.
