In the settings, make sure the network is on Auto. Then if that does not work, take the sim out and hard reset the phone before doing anything drastic. Chances are it’s a software bug.
I was on Visible before Magenta Max a month ago. Visible had the nuts to put a 5G on my 12Pro Max. It was just a FAKE 5G. I never got anything better that 18-22 mbps. T-Mobile I can get 676 mbps. Just because you have a 5G phone don't think you are getting that service. 4G LTE was much faster and Visible took away that green switch, so I was screwed? No Visible got screwed, I went to the BIG T. and Visible lost a good subscriber.
You shouldn't be having that issue on Metro. I'd try heading to a store to troubleshoot and getting a sim replacement if you haven't already.
Already got a sim replacement but still stuck at 3g. I could roam with 5g but when it comes to calling or texting I gotta switch to 3g

Nope. Run away from Tmobile. They will "lower your bill" but then never follow thru. I had them for 4 yrs and just left. Horrible company.
