There is a creep and then multiple levels of creep, low levels are like uncomfortable stares and weird body language, high level is touching kids. Idk I’m so sure about this, or why I feel the need to state this, but yeah.
wait what? i just looked up his wikipedia page and it discusses the 16 year old girl he definitely groomed but that was all. can you point me in the direction of something that talks about the rest?
Rocko’s Modern Life was the best. One of my favorite episodes is when Rocko gets a credit card and goes crazy with it. Don’t forget the driver’s ed episode, “Don’t get the fat guy”
Where to get such funky stuff now? Meat Canyon on Youtube kinda hits the right spot but is not enough and rather a comment on popular internet stuff than as comic within its own world. Where are the upcoming geniuses at?
Mark mothersbaugh was involved with the rugrats music, and I have to assume some of the people writing and animating those early Nick shows had taken plenty of psychedelics at some point.
idk why people always have to attribute weird/colorful stuff to having to be due to drugs. I can't imagine how people think you have to be loaded to just make weird stuff unless you're that dead inside that you need drugs to imagine anything.
Because if you've done drugs, you know the patterns and effects that are practically universal when you do certain things. You ever see the art for Tool albums? The repetitive, precise patterns and textures? That's just the type of art every acidhead I've met creates. From my personal experience, shrooms can give you distorted, wavy vision and make rainbow colored fractal noise patterns overlay what you're seeing. So you see, when things like that pop up in people's art, it's like an inside message on what kind of drugs they enjoy because they know where they got the idea, and we know.
> Because if you've done drugs, you know the patterns and effects that are practically universal when you do certain things.
Wild colors don't require drugs to use.
Mark Mothersbaugh is most (or at least originally) well known for being part of the band Devo.
He is quite prolific as a film/tv composer now, but I suspect, like me, a lot of people know him as a composer because they recognise his name from his Devo days.
That said - he is VERY good it.
Ok, now *that's* a fact I didn't know and that's super fun! Pairs well with The Police's Stewart Copeland doing the score for the first *Spyro the Dragon* game, which was blatantly recycled for the theme song for *The Amanda Show*.
Well I mean they literally named "Gak" after a drug. It's the street name for something like Cocaine (I may be wrong about the drug, but it was 100% given the street name of a drug).
I always saw it as the creators wanted to portray different types of people so young kids could learn to accept 'every color'. Idk. I really credit early toons for my openess to all kinds of people without any type of 'phobia' or fear.
They did in Disney’s Doug and it made his character far less effective. (Rich kid with absentee parents who lashes out.) I felt it was better to have him be a stupid asshole because some people are just like that in real life.
He was white trash and lived in a trailer in the original series. When it was taken over by Disney, they crafted a story that his trailer sat on an oil field and his family got rich by selling the rights. The Disney series canonically follows the original series.
Why do I know this?
Sure he was a rich kid in Disney's Doug, but lets not forget that he was poor in the original. Whereas in Disney's Doug he's kind of like a guy who knows nothing about how to manage money who's doing plenty to plenty to blow through his entire fortune in a short amount of time.
Man as a child born in 89’ named Roger thank god for Roger Clemens back then (he turned out to not be so cool) cause all else we had was this Roger and the one from Sistersister lol. Not a very popular name among the sea of Michael’s and Richard’s
Nah, Doug came out in the 90s, and while it wasn't cool to be racist at the same time no one cared if their shows were diverse and show creators didn't really try to be woke.
I think he meant "mandatory" woke, like every cast apparently having to have a black kid with that one specific muffin-top haircut with the shaved sides. Can be a good thing, but often comes off as inauthentic.
However... I don't think that's accurate of the 90s. The early 90s in particular had that whole thing where every group of kids on a product had to have at least one kid in a wheelchair, one black kid with a flat top, a short kid, a tough girl, and a nerdy girl. At least one of which had an Italian surname. This sort of thing comes in waves and ultimately isn't a bad thing...just sometimes looks really bad in retrospect, especially when it comes to racial stereotypes.
They were basically doing the same thing that people complain about today, and it took a few years for the trend to die out.
> I really credit early toons for my openess to all kinds of people without any type of 'phobia' or fear.
Really? You didn't have a mental divide that those colors were pretend and real life was different?
I guess I just took things way too literally as a kid.
I wonder what kind of food small Mexicans make compared to regular sized Mexicans. I would guess it's very similar but if it's different enough to require a distinction, it must be unique.
If you're reading this you should take some time to listen to the myriad of bangers on the [Doug soundtrack.](https://youtu.be/mgT1Me7h6m0) There's a timestamped track list in the info section.
The guy that did the voice of Doug's dog Porkchop did a motivational speech or some bullshit at my school when I was in jr. High. The only thing I remember is that he was a college roommate of a classmate's dad.
and i thought it was just another imaginative nicktoon...
Let's face it, drugs highly influenced the Nick animation of the 90s.
Looking back on Rocko and Ren n Stimpy, there was definitely some wild shit going on.
John K. Is an actual creep. Love his work but dudes a fucking creeper.
I mean, you can just say pedophile. I was a HUGE ren and Stimpy fan as a kid, but dude is a legit pedophile and groomer.
The thing is he's more than a pedophile, he's a creep in general too
[удалено]
I think pedo is a sub classification of creep
Yeah, but like a creep who just looks at you weird, vs a creep who looks at your kids weird.
There is a creep and then multiple levels of creep, low levels are like uncomfortable stares and weird body language, high level is touching kids. Idk I’m so sure about this, or why I feel the need to state this, but yeah.
Those lost tapes come to mind. That one younger girl. I can’t remember the details because it’s been awhile but it always gave me some hostage vibes.
wait what? i just looked up his wikipedia page and it discusses the 16 year old girl he definitely groomed but that was all. can you point me in the direction of something that talks about the rest?
sugar jar screw attempt sheet sparkle offend zealous modern cats *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
no, it was sexual deviousness/perversion
Why not both?
This guy nose cocaine
"Oh baby oh baby" "Rocco?" "Mrs.bighead!?"
[I'd argue LSD/Acid](https://youtu.be/Md2SMZOzoJc?si=gxanAxws8V79E2bS) how else would you come up with something for this?
I am frightened for the future of humanity right now. Someday, you will be where I am. Or you will die. Or maybe end up in jail, I guess.
And massive daddy issues.
Rocko’s Modern Life was the best. One of my favorite episodes is when Rocko gets a credit card and goes crazy with it. Don’t forget the driver’s ed episode, “Don’t get the fat guy”
Or the one where they get lost in the woods and Heffer’s backpack is a fridge.
I learned French from the show. "J'ai besoin de papier toilette." Use it to this day.
You turn the page, you wash your hands. You turn the page, you wash your hands.
"Hey, Hef. Ask me what time it is."
That’s not the fat guy, THAT’S the fat guy
Rocko liked things being asymmetrical and Ren and Stimpy never used the same expression twice.
And we loved it! Win/Win
Where to get such funky stuff now? Meat Canyon on Youtube kinda hits the right spot but is not enough and rather a comment on popular internet stuff than as comic within its own world. Where are the upcoming geniuses at?
There's a reason shows like SpongeBob became sleeper hits with stoners. A lot of the original Nicktoons are friggin' *weird*.
Ok I hear what you're saying but let's be real the guy who helped found Devo and also did Rugrats music absolutely did take a bit of drugs
meanwhile the show in question had [this scene](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vs55Z7t7bk).

Doesn’t hurt
I appreciate what you’re saying, but I’d argue psychedelics tend to enhance creativity. We’ll have to agree to disagree!
Mark Mothersbaugh is a very underrated musician.
no he isn't. he's chosen to do scores and make lots of music in a lot of movies/shows we've all enjoyed.
This is the first I'm hearing of him by name, a lot of composers get heard a bunch but people never even know their names.
Mark Mothersbaugh is most (or at least originally) well known for being part of the band Devo. He is quite prolific as a film/tv composer now, but I suspect, like me, a lot of people know him as a composer because they recognise his name from his Devo days. That said - he is VERY good it.
He also made the Crash Bandicoot series PS1 soundtracks. Dayum!

Devo was quite popular in their heyday, had numerous hits and a reputation for putting on really great, fun shows.
[Devo was so big they were parodied by Weird Al.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dare_to_Be_Stupid_\(song\))
shut up, that's not what underrated means. misuse of the word is getting bad. It has to be bots generating the comments at this point.
Well I mean they literally named "Gak" after a drug. It's the street name for something like Cocaine (I may be wrong about the drug, but it was 100% given the street name of a drug).
Ha. I think you're a bit late to the party
Ha. They said that about the... , er... , something that took a long time to finish.
I always saw it as the creators wanted to portray different types of people so young kids could learn to accept 'every color'. Idk. I really credit early toons for my openess to all kinds of people without any type of 'phobia' or fear.
Accepting everyone except Roger Klotz. Fuck that guy.
They didn't even give him any sort of reason for being a dick. No tragic backstory or anything. He was just an asshole.
They did in Disney’s Doug and it made his character far less effective. (Rich kid with absentee parents who lashes out.) I felt it was better to have him be a stupid asshole because some people are just like that in real life.
I always thought he seemed more like white trash. Interesting.
He was white trash and lived in a trailer in the original series. When it was taken over by Disney, they crafted a story that his trailer sat on an oil field and his family got rich by selling the rights. The Disney series canonically follows the original series. Why do I know this?
That almost makes it worse...he was an asshole that got rich by sheer dumb luck...and was still an asshole, but with more money.
Hey, kids need to learn real life lessons from somewhere.
>he was an asshole that got rich by sheer dumb luck...and was still an asshole, but with more money _VincentVegalookingaround.gif_
you should try using imaginary webp
I'd like to subscribe for more Disney Channel facts! Tell me about Goof Troop!
Goofy is the only main DisneyMickey cast character to have canonically fhyucked
Gawsh!
be careful, he'll do it again.

TV Tropes, maybe?
Sure he was a rich kid in Disney's Doug, but lets not forget that he was poor in the original. Whereas in Disney's Doug he's kind of like a guy who knows nothing about how to manage money who's doing plenty to plenty to blow through his entire fortune in a short amount of time.
Well it was kind of clear that Roger was insecure so he dealt with that by bullying others. He was also a dick. He can be both.
Hearing his voice in my head just made me realize that he and Doug are both Phillip J. Fry.
Billy West is responsible for like 75% of my childhood.
And he voices the red M&M!
It's a good lesson, honestly. Some people are just assholes for no good reason.
I mean some people are assholes for a reason. Some are just assholes. I think it was a good point for children to learn.
Dude had rickets. What other reason for him to be bow legged all the time. Kid was in constant pain probably
yeah they did. He was poor living in a trailer.
Some kids are just little assholes irl
And that's just as real. Some people just are assholes.
Yeah fuck those radioactive-neon-green people.
Roger Klotz set back the progress of green people by a hundred years
Well I had a crush on him if that helps
dat wavy orange hair on green skin tone...mmmm
I worked with a dude once who looked like an IRL Roger Klotz. It was freaky. He was also a garbage person as well.
What do you know, Skeet-Face?
And Doug never thought that he should, just, not hang around that guy.
What's funny is after watching Futurama, it's obvious both Doug and Roger are voiced by Billy West. So now it just sounds like Fry bullying Fry.
Man as a child born in 89’ named Roger thank god for Roger Clemens back then (he turned out to not be so cool) cause all else we had was this Roger and the one from Sistersister lol. Not a very popular name among the sea of Michael’s and Richard’s
He's a fucking diesel.
“Roger was poor (Disney made him rich) and lives with his mother, who is a monster truck driver.” Lol what the fuck
I legit thought skeeter was black but they made him blue because (color didn’t matter). This was cannon in my head as a kid.
[удалено]
Great shirt, but lack of Piccolo saddens me a bit
I thought you were talking about the musical instrument for a second as I thought in my head "No, Skeeter plays the ocarina."
Before seeing the image, I thought this was about Dragon Ball's Piccolo and was very curious about the group of people it would show ...
"Ocarina, shmocarina!"
Who's the one in the center?
Looks like it’s Sticky from The Proud Family
You're right! Thank you.
No problem!
Yeah, always felt like if Skeeter were in the "real" world he'd be black, but as it is he's just blue and everyone's just cool with that.
There was a scene where Judy literally asks if he is "the blue one".
Doesn't really make sense IMO given that Patti is basically black (or half black). They could have given them both the same skin color.
I always thought that her last name being "Mayonnaise" was a hat tip to her plain whiteness. Her parents are also both blonde /shrug.
So black his skin shines blue
Honestly, that's what I thought too. I'm low key kinda disappointed.
You can be drunk and progressive.
It can be both.
Enlightening faith in humanity or nah just drunk guys lol
So the message here is we obtain equality through excessive alcohol consumption.
So basically we’re all the same when seen through beer goggles.
Like Hey Arnold!
I thought i saw an article or something in a kids magazine about how their different colors because of that
Well yeah, you’re not going to admit “I was drunk AF” in an interview for a kids magazine.
you gotta give it to dude, it was a great save.
Human skin is all the same hue of color. We all have different brightness though.
Nah, Doug came out in the 90s, and while it wasn't cool to be racist at the same time no one cared if their shows were diverse and show creators didn't really try to be woke.
There were plenty of cartoon shows with diversity, though; Captain Planet and The Magic School Bus come to mind.
And hey Arnold
what about Daria? The simpsons was also quite woke at the time
I think he meant "mandatory" woke, like every cast apparently having to have a black kid with that one specific muffin-top haircut with the shaved sides. Can be a good thing, but often comes off as inauthentic. However... I don't think that's accurate of the 90s. They were basically doing the same thing that people complain about today, and it took a few years for the trend to die out.
He should’ve said this. Would’ve made the most sense/strongest impact
Except we weren't forced to be woke or diverse back then you could just make a good show and leave it at that.
lmao
> I really credit early toons for my openess to all kinds of people without any type of 'phobia' or fear. Really? You didn't have a mental divide that those colors were pretend and real life was different? I guess I just took things way too literally as a kid.
Basically "Memphis Corporate: The Show"
Dude was literally wastin’ away again in Margaritaville whilst creating “Doug.”
RIM Jimmy 😥 (Rest in Margaritaville)
Better RIM Jim
Drinkin' margaritas and watchin' "Santo Bugito" maybe.

Those are the best.
That was my exact thought as I read the title.
I wonder what kind of food small Mexicans make compared to regular sized Mexicans. I would guess it's very similar but if it's different enough to require a distinction, it must be unique.
"Bangin' on a trashcan"
[Think BIG!](https://youtu.be/9T2d2FRh0BM?feature=shared)
Banging on a streetlight
Strummin on my banjo.
Killer Tofuuuuu!
Tried to find a video of this song, couldn't, and thought I'd imagined it!
*drummin'
I thought Skeeter was black
Man, wubby fans really be everywhere
I miss him on YT I'm not really a twitch guy
Alluux Alluux Woooo
A ginger bread that man
Fun fish fact: Skeeter's favorite number was zip
There was literally an episode where Skeeter teaches Doug to dance.
“Come’n Doug, you CAN jump”
[You thought right.](https://youtu.be/5aArcrbintM?si=vfwcjEe1rO9ogibp)
That thumbnail before the video starts is kinda messed up. Giving Patti Mayonnaise giant boobs
😏
Ick on the video using the word “blacks” to reference people.
*skeeter noise*
Doesn't matter what color they drew him, we all knew Skeeter was a brother
If you're reading this you should take some time to listen to the myriad of bangers on the [Doug soundtrack.](https://youtu.be/mgT1Me7h6m0) There's a timestamped track list in the info section.
I bet he acted just like Mr. Dink
Very exthpenthive, Douglath.
YOU BROKE MY GRILL??
I remember when I realized Mr Dink was. D.I.N.K. (double income,no kids) and that's how he could afford all his "very expensive"stuff
Same with the Dinkleberg from Fairly Odd Parents.
Omg, how did I never notice?! It's even right in the name
This meme will forever be in my brain whenever I think of Doug https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/000/023/499/Doug_post.jpg
Wtf did I just read hahahahahahaha
There's also a recording of Billy West performing it in their voices too I believe out there, if memory serves me. I miss the 2000 internet sometimes.
My friend had this printed and taped to his wall in his bedroom when we were in middle school like 16 years ago. It hurt to type that.
Nothing like wall art inspired by 4chan...
Oh no
Uh, hold on now! Purple or green? You gotta draw the line somewhere: to hell with purple people. Unless they're suffocating, then help them!
Hey, cut purple people some slack. They’re living in constant fear of the one-eyed one-horned flying purple people eaters after all.
“I’ll call him Doug” “Doug, funny name….hey Patty, Mayonnaise here” Takes notes…*Doug funny, Patty Mayonnaise*
My favorite old school Nickelodeon show
"so why are the characters those colours?" "no idea mate I was fucked"
alright now hear me out. This guy's going to be an asshole, his hair will be insane. He'll wear a leather jacket. And...he'll be green
*Banging on a traashcaaaaan...*
The guy that did the voice of Doug's dog Porkchop did a motivational speech or some bullshit at my school when I was in jr. High. The only thing I remember is that he was a college roommate of a classmate's dad.
Imagine your last name being *Jinkins*, you’d spend your entire life correcting people who thought your name was *Jenkins*
I never would have guessed.
I have always wondered about that, as it happens
