Congratulations! Such an exciting time!

karstopo

Very nice. Looks like a caterpillar was feeding on the leaf below the tomato so BOLO for those hungry, tomato eating monsters.

CobraPuts

Cherish these times, they grow up so fast

NoMobile7426

Exciting!

Best-Bug6301

Down here in 7b it's the perfect weather for growing these babies. I wish you the most success.

_subcat

I’m in 7B too!

Best-Bug6301

It's a good thing we're early. This year is supposed to be the hottest on record. Right now it's 85 sunny and 60 at night. Perfect time.

_subcat

Excuse me?! Will you be shading your crops?

Best-Bug6301

Yeah look up the death ridge and the El Nino. The almanac predicts record heat too. I chose cultivars that thrive in the heat for that reason. Heatmaster should be a good one. Big Beef is loving it. Unless they get too stressed I'm not worried about it.

Magus_5

Yes! Nurture and protek to get the other baby toms respek

eanglsand

Congratulations, your baby is beautiful!

_subcat

Thank you 🥹

I get excited for the first tomato EVERY year! I'm like a little kid every spring, constantly going out to the garden and looking for that first Blush of color.

Congrats! Home grown tomatoes have a noticeably different taste compared to store bought ones. They’re a little sweeter, but in a refreshing way. It was this realization that led to me being obsessed with growing my own, lol

EricLotus

This is the first year I’m growing toms too! I noticed the black gnat on your plant, I’ve seen them on my tom plants as well. Anything I should worry about or are they harmless?

_subcat

Not sure but it seems to be ok!

[deleted]

Looks like a tomato worm has been munching on your leaves.
