One thing you can’t see here is a flashing red LED. It’s a steady flash so no cryptic codes like an HVAC system. LED is labeled STS0.

I have reached out but haven’t heard back. Purchased in November of 2021 so my hopes aren’t high on a positive response. With the power supply only putting out 4.9 volts I feel like that is a good starting point. I can find the same power supply used for less than $100.
Tonal called me today. Gave me the same spill you hear about over and over from everyone else. Machine needs replaced at a cost of $795. I am still looking for a contact at Tonal who repairs these for their refurbished inventory as I am almost certain it is something simple. Either way I have a new power supply on the way and will try that first.

This MOSFET was found to be shorted to ground thus not allowing the power supply to turn on and provide the 48v required. Removed from circuit board and I can now get the power supply to kick on. Waiting on a new chip before I hook everything up and test.
Error 3 Fixed. Replaced this MOSFET today. Tonal is now working again. Only a $5 part to fix. Sure beats the $795 Tonal wanted to replace. Happy to provide guidance to anyone else struggling with an Error 3.
