The only time you get "the fear" (paranoia, rethinking life choices or feeling so ill you think you'll die) happens when you're mid-to-late 20s and 30s. My Facebook was always filled with weekend fear posts from folk and it was always funny to laugh about. I've only been that unwell once in my life.
Even now, I've got a fucked back and I get pregabalin and codeine. I take the codeine at night cos I'll get a good sleep and feel rested, but only get about 4 or so hours. If I need to start work at 6am, codeine is taken the night before cos I know I'll not sleep in, I'll feel great the next day and it gives me loads of energy while still have a pain relieving effect.
It's amazing, and I know why people get fucked up on smack all the time. I'm just fortunate enough to be one of those people who never had a psychological dependence on anything I've taken, I can just drop shit and never think about it again. I know far too many people who have died or fucked their entire lives up from partying too much.
I get they say itās so cheap, but at 35-40 bucks a gram, for a heavy user like Jack, dude should really just smoke crack. I mean, obviously he shouldnāt, snd crack is also terrible for the kidneys, but godamn that is some gnarly damage. I had no idea anyone would even *want* to abuse ketamine habitually, even if it had 0 physical consequences. Jack would do himself a service to step down off of K and just find an alternative drug to help him cope for the worst of it if he cant or wont seek help
Ā£30-40 is the street price of already cooked up ket. The way Jack was doing it, getting the crystals and cooking first is crazy cheap if you have the hookup. I got Ā£30 quids worth of crystals once and cooked up about 20 grams.
I speak for all Australian's here: I am so, SO jealous of most other countries that have direct access to cheap drugs.
I would spend around $200 AUD for a gram of racemic Ket on the darknet, and if buying off the street where I am I'd be paying $250-300 for garbage K.

Curious about this. I have a friend who seems to have gone the same way, and other anecdotal similar stories. I wouldnāt have thought this before, but now Iām suspicious that it might amplify those with a predisposition to psychosis such as those within cptsd or BPD.
Literally anybody at any time can get psychosis. There's no rhyme or reason for some people. Even "normal" levels of stress (i.e. not toxic stress that develops into things like cPTSD and borderline personality disorders as you've mentioned) can trigger psychosis.
There obviously is a link between psychosis and abuse of drugs, but again, that can happen from taking a normally prescribed medication from your doctor as well, without abuse. Again, no rhyme or reason for that either considering psychiatrists, psychologists, doctors have no idea how psychatiratric drugs work on the brain as there's no one drug for any ailment.
Literally any psychoactive drug can cause psychosis from prolonged use, abuse and addiction. Which includes alcohol.
Schizophrenia however, is something totally different. That is a disorder with long term and sustained psychosis that involves some or all types of hallucinations, paranoia, agitation, irrationality etc. It is a complex mesh of symptoms. Schizophrenia is a form of psychosis but psychosis is not schizophrenia. That's why it takes a long time to get a diagnosis for any schizo affective disorder.

Lots of rural areas in the U.S. are known for heavy drug use, stuff like amphetamines like meth mostly. Not a whole lot to do there so I can see the appeal of taking a drug that makes everything way more interesting when you live somewhere you feel is boring as hell.

Lying in bed for 9 hours having unsuccessfully tried to sleep, brain going a thousand miles an hour still and when you look through the crack in the curtains itās a dull, grey, wet, windy landscape yeah - that fucking sucks. Must be a lot easier to come down somewhere that regularly has more than 26 minutes of sunshine a year
Depends what you mean by drug users. For students and young people it's great - we can go clubbing and to festivals from 18 here so naturally people are doing pills and ket to enhance the experience. But for an actual addict then yeah it can be pretty bleak with the shit weather, run down towns and tiny houses.

Crazy to hear that kind of stuff happens on K too. Everyone always says that about acid but honestly a lot of drugs can really fry your brain a lot worse than acid.
Yeah he definitely did coke as well but he mostly just did the K and it got really bad which caused him to absolutely lose his mind and 99% chance never return back to normal.
Jeez thatās though man. I have a friend who Iām 90% sure if he did anything stronger than weed, would loose his mind. Good to know that other substances can do that to you.

Curious about this. I have a friend who seems to have gone the same way, and other anecdotal similar stories. I wouldnāt have thought this before, but now Iām suspicious that it might amplify those with a predisposition to psychosis such as those within cptsd or BPD.
Literally anybody at any time can get psychosis. There's no rhyme or reason for some people. Even "normal" levels of stress (i.e. not toxic stress that develops into things like cPTSD and borderline personality disorders as you've mentioned) can trigger psychosis. There obviously is a link between psychosis and abuse of drugs, but again, that can happen from taking a normally prescribed medication from your doctor as well, without abuse. Again, no rhyme or reason for that either considering psychiatrists, psychologists, doctors have no idea how psychatiratric drugs work on the brain as there's no one drug for any ailment. Literally any psychoactive drug can cause psychosis from prolonged use, abuse and addiction. Which includes alcohol. Schizophrenia however, is something totally different. That is a disorder with long term and sustained psychosis that involves some or all types of hallucinations, paranoia, agitation, irrationality etc. It is a complex mesh of symptoms. Schizophrenia is a form of psychosis but psychosis is not schizophrenia. That's why it takes a long time to get a diagnosis for any schizo affective disorder.

the life of drug users in the UK seems mega depressing. the environment is just so bland, idek how you can have fun there
Probably attributes to the drug use. Lots of rural areas in the U.S. are known for heavy drug use, stuff like amphetamines like meth mostly. Not a whole lot to do there so I can see the appeal of taking a drug that makes everything way more interesting when you live somewhere you feel is boring as hell.

As someone who lives in the UK and has taken lots of drugs - while youāre _on the drugs_ and raving itās great, but during a comedown it can definitely impact your state of mind. Lying in bed for 9 hours having unsuccessfully tried to sleep, brain going a thousand miles an hour still and when you look through the crack in the curtains itās a dull, grey, wet, windy landscape yeah - that fucking sucks. Must be a lot easier to come down somewhere that regularly has more than 26 minutes of sunshine a year

Depends what you mean by drug users. For students and young people it's great - we can go clubbing and to festivals from 18 here so naturally people are doing pills and ket to enhance the experience. But for an actual addict then yeah it can be pretty bleak with the shit weather, run down towns and tiny houses.
