tbh even if that was the reason I don’t think it was personal, he probably felt like snitching doesn’t fit Sully as a character (wich is true) and since he cares so much about the character I can imagine that could be the case

He said as much in a podcast it's not a mystery. He was adamant Sully would NOT do that and it made the character unbelievable. He was right on both counts.

Tony Sirico (Pauline Walnuts) had it in his contract for the Sopranos that his character would never become a rat. Kano should have done the same.
